Montreal-native Iron Galaxy landed on loads of year end charts as a surprise newcomer with his track 'Attention Seeker.' In addition to a future record on Turbo, he has an EP upcoming for James Zabiela's new label. This remix shows his style developing nicely: warm chords and catchy vocal samples wrapped up in lush analog ambience.

Young Belgian producer Locked Groove (aka Tim Van de Meutter) cements an increasingly central role in the Hotflush family fold with the release of the two part Heritage EP. Since his debut on the label, Tim has propagated what he himself has termed ‘100% House and Techno,’ combining elements of the big room, the deep and moody and straight up four-to-the-floor both into the space of a single track, and across the length of an EP. Hotflush presents the debut 12" from Belgian newcomer Locked Groove aka Tim Van de Meutter. The young producer delivers three hypnotizing and genre bending tracks that expertly weave the sounds of Berghain, soulful house and UK garage into a single crushing package. The “Rooted” EP draws you in with the title track, bouncing along to an acid baseline, then moves onto “Drowning”, a moody techno track that was included on Scuba’s DJ-Kicks mix compilation, filled with drum and ambient samples taken from field recordings. Lastly, “Change”, a production that smartly melds classic house grooves with industrial techno, demonstrates Locked Groove's rhythmic finesse and long-term promise as an artist.

Set for release next month, Chris Spero (otherwise known as UK house and techno producer Glimpse) and Hypercolour co-founder and producer, Alex Jones, return once again as Dense & Pika to the Hotflush fold with ‘Move Your Body Back.’ Having crept out of the shadows back in 2011 with a collection of white labels released through their own eponymous imprint, Dense & Pika went on to bolster their rising profile with the release of their Hotflush debut (‘Crispy Duck') which landed late last year as well as with their memorable live set at Hotflush's recent Boiler Room Takeover.
There is nothing chin-strokingly complicated or needlessly over-worked about their productions. They make interesting techno aimed at the dance floor and ‘Move Your Body Back,’ continues with this central aesthetic. The three track EP plunders percussive depths by way of stern machine rhythms, swollen low-end grit and the echoing, anthemic elements of warehouse rave techno. The title track of the EP may already be familiar to many having appeared on their Resident Advisor podcast in March and is already being played out by Maya Jane Coles, Boddika and Adam Beyer, amongst others. Having already dropped two excellent EPs for Aus and Man Make Music this year, George returns on Hotflush Two with three tracks embodying the style he has matured over the last two years. Hotflush presents a special collaboration between two modern-day techno innovators: Paul Woolford and Psycatron. Both maintaining an influential discography on labels such as Planet E, Intimacy, Tresor, and Bedrock, they've come together to produce "Stolen", a nine-minute techno excursion. Utilising relentless, throbbing percussion that sizzles over growling, acidic synthesis and carefully placed samples, it's presented in three distinct versions, introducing filter-swept chords in the Dub Mix, and an even deeper submersion in the second Dub Mix that perfectly eclipses the raw temperament of the original.
