Hotflush presents the debut 12" from Belgian newcomer Locked Groove aka Tim Van de Meutter. The young producer delivers three hypnotizing and genre bending tracks that expertly weave the sounds of Berghain, soulful house and UK garage into a single crushing package. The “Rooted” EP draws you in with the title track, bouncing along to an acid baseline, then moves onto “Drowning”, a moody techno track that was included on Scuba’s DJ-Kicks mix compilation, filled with drum and ambient samples taken from field recordings. Lastly, “Change”, a production that smartly melds classic house grooves with industrial techno, demonstrates Locked Groove's rhythmic finesse and long-term promise as an artist.

Following last year’s anthemic double-header, “Waves / Shirts Off”, Locked Groove Records is back with our eponymous helmsman tipping a conspicuous cap to his Belgian heritage. “Rave Alerts” does exactly what it says on the tin – a thumping nod to the Ghent glory days of yore, while “Dialogues” favours the trance-fuelled introspection of the early hours. Limited edition, vinyl only by the best Belgian since Hercule Poirot.

Can the ugliness of the colour be more in contrast with the beauty of the tracks as is the case on WPH Brown? Decide for yourself, but we’re sorry the rainbow colours were all out… Locked Groove has made quite a name for himself in recent years. Hotflush mainstay, Turbo…erm…shortstay and remixer of choice for a variety of killer imprints, including WPH (Orange). Being from Belgium and blessed with a healthy dose of Absurdistan humour it was only logical for him to join our ranks and so here he is with his WPH full E.P. debut. Musically we just told him ‘to do whatever he wanted to do’, and so his love for Detroit and Belgian trance vibes are shining firmly on both ‘Aquarius’ and ‘Latency (Sunrise Mix)’. It would be silly do describe beauty like this…so we just won’t bother. Just get the E.P. and trance the f*ck out of it!

Locked Groove back on Turbo bringing Belgian cowbell swag to the party, backed by remixes from Juju & Jordash and Iron Galaxy.
A rising star in the lifestyle house arena, Locked Groove has emerged with EPs on Turbo and Hotflush as a credible voice on the tip of pitchfork's tongue, skillfully balancing DEEP with BALLS. Keep Thorough might be the most accessible and immediate track he's put out so far... the lyrics spell it out: "wanna party, wana get down tonight"... this could rock an office party as well as it would Boiler Room. Dutch duo Juju & Jordash - hotly tipped and recently featured on the new Panoramabar comp turn in a stripped down, jacking remix, built for after-hours warehouse dominance.
Montreal-native Iron Galaxy landed on loads of year end charts as a surprise newcomer with his track 'Attention Seeker.' In addition to a future record on Turbo, he has an EP upcoming for James Zabiela's new label. This remix shows his style developing nicely: warm chords and catchy vocal samples wrapped up in lush analog ambience.

Young Belgian producer Locked Groove (aka Tim Van de Meutter) cements an increasingly central role in the Hotflush family fold with the release of the two part Heritage EP. Since his debut on the label, Tim has propagated what he himself has termed ‘100% House and Techno,’ combining elements of the big room, the deep and moody and straight up four-to-the-floor both into the space of a single track, and across the length of an EP. Taking a marked step on from last year’s Rooted and Keep It Simple EPs, Heritage pursues a joining of musical dots between and beyond classic House and Techno; from the Kerri Chandler-esque House of ‘Wear It Well’ through the epic landscaping of ‘Lost’ to
'Dream Within A Dream''s Blade Runner beach party. In this collection, the young producer delivers two sets of three outstanding, genre-straddling tracks that further help to bolster Hotflush’s legacy as one of the most forward-thinking labels operating in 2013. More

Belgian producer, Tim Van de Meutter, aka Locked Groove, returns to Hotflush for a second EP following the success of January’s
pivotal Rooted release. Keep It Simple comprises four weighty examples of why the young producer’s unique fusion of big-room

Set for release next month, Chris Spero (otherwise known as UK house and techno producer Glimpse) and Hypercolour co-founder and producer, Alex Jones, return once again as Dense & Pika to the Hotflush fold with ‘Move Your Body Back.’ Having crept out of the shadows back in 2011 with a collection of white labels released through their own eponymous imprint, Dense & Pika went on to bolster their rising profile with the release of their Hotflush debut (‘Crispy Duck') which landed late last year as well as with their memorable live set at Hotflush's recent Boiler Room Takeover.
There is nothing chin-strokingly complicated or needlessly over-worked about their productions. They make interesting techno aimed at the dance floor and ‘Move Your Body Back,’ continues with this central aesthetic. The three track EP plunders percussive depths by way of stern machine rhythms, swollen low-end grit and the echoing, anthemic elements of warehouse rave techno. The title track of the EP may already be familiar to many having appeared on their Resident Advisor podcast in March and is already being played out by Maya Jane Coles, Boddika and Adam Beyer, amongst others. Jack Dixon, - E
Jack Dixon follows a string of critically acclaimed releases for Apollo (R&S), Take and Losing Suki (Hypercolour) with his debut outing for Hotflush. Influenced by the sparse atmospherics of Wolfgang Voigt, the playful intricacy of Autechre beats and the off-kilter grooves of UK garage, the Berlin-based producer is unconstrained by genre or place, pioneering a modern, progressive sound that?s already garnered him a glowing reputation. In turns colourful, ambient, melodic and driving, his new EP feels right at home on Scuba?s label. Beginning with a deceptively clean
and minimal rhythm, ?E? slowly gives way to lush glacial drones, skittering beats and huge euphoric drops to form a bold production that sits somewhere between the early morning techno dancefloors of Berlin and the murky sweatbox raves of late-night South London. On the flip, he delivers the soulfully taut ?Find Shelter?. Warped vocals weave in and out of an insistent, jazzy house groove, backed by a tapestry of glitches, vinyl crackle and live drum flourishes. It all leads to one of the most delirious and ecstatic drops you?ll hear this year.

Hotflush presents a special collaboration between two modern-day techno innovators: Paul Woolford and Psycatron. Both maintaining an influential discography on labels such as Planet E, Intimacy, Tresor, and Bedrock, they've come together to produce "Stolen", a nine-minute techno excursion. Utilising relentless, throbbing percussion that sizzles over growling, acidic synthesis and carefully placed samples, it's presented in three distinct versions, introducing filter-swept chords in the Dub Mix, and an even deeper submersion in the second Dub Mix that perfectly eclipses the raw temperament of the original.
