With previous releases on influential labels Hotflush, Aus and Hypercolour, George FitzGerald has joined a new home, signing to Domino offshoot Double Six. Kicking off his inauguration is new single 'I Can Tell (By The Way You Move)', a house cut which set the 7,000+ strong crowd at Ushuaia in Ibiza moving last week as he went back to back with Radio 1's Pete Tong, a relationship that kicked off earlier this year with George's Radio 1 Essential Mix. 'I Can Tell (By The Way You Move)' is available digitally through BeatPort now. The video for 'I Can Tell (By The Way You Move)' follows a group of hedonistic teenagers roaming the streets of George's adopted hometown, Berlin, to the backdrop of George's infectious rhythms threaded throughout the track. Directed by Alex Southam, the man behind videos for Alt-J, Laura Mvula and Liane La Havas, you can watch the video HERE. A remix package featuring mixes from Breach, responsible for the aptly titled summer club smash 'Jack', and a remix from Paul Woolford, will be available from the 30th of Sept. George continues to play throughout the summer and has started work on his debut album due for release in 2014 through Double Six, where he joins such luminaries as Jon Hopkins and John Cale as part of the extended Domino family. ManMakeMusic first made their name running a series of eponymous parties in London's East End which showcased the best of lowend heavy electronic music. Given that the collective contained within their ranks a number of budding producers, the step over to label territory was always on the cards. George FitzGerald, who heads up the label, was behind the crew's first mysterious release earlier this year, a refix of Groove Theory's 'Tell Me' that sold-out within a matter of days. ManMakeMusic are now back for more, beginning the label series in earnest with some original material from George that sums up what these guys have been about from the beginning: real-deal dance music that tracks the borderlines of house, garage and techno.
George's releases on Hotflush and Aus this year have consolidated his reputation as one of a small set of producers from London whose tracks translate in to dancefloor capital outside of British borders. This record travels deeper in to the territory of housedubstep cross-pollination than George's previous excursions. A-side 'Fernweh' is an intricate work of ecstatic synths tempered with a rock solid groove that betrays George's UK sensibilities. On the flip, 'Hearts' ramps up the energy levels with tough percussion and the trademark FitzGerald vocal wizardry.

Set for release next month, Chris Spero (otherwise known as UK house and techno producer Glimpse) and Hypercolour co-founder and producer, Alex Jones, return once again as Dense & Pika to the Hotflush fold with ‘Move Your Body Back.’ Having crept out of the shadows back in 2011 with a collection of white labels released through their own eponymous imprint, Dense & Pika went on to bolster their rising profile with the release of their Hotflush debut (‘Crispy Duck') which landed late last year as well as with their memorable live set at Hotflush's recent Boiler Room Takeover.
There is nothing chin-strokingly complicated or needlessly over-worked about their productions. They make interesting techno aimed at the dance floor and ‘Move Your Body Back,’ continues with this central aesthetic. The three track EP plunders percussive depths by way of stern machine rhythms, swollen low-end grit and the echoing, anthemic elements of warehouse rave techno. The title track of the EP may already be familiar to many having appeared on their Resident Advisor podcast in March and is already being played out by Maya Jane Coles, Boddika and Adam Beyer, amongst others. Hotflush presents a special collaboration between two modern-day techno innovators: Paul Woolford and Psycatron. Both maintaining an influential discography on labels such as Planet E, Intimacy, Tresor, and Bedrock, they've come together to produce "Stolen", a nine-minute techno excursion. Utilising relentless, throbbing percussion that sizzles over growling, acidic synthesis and carefully placed samples, it's presented in three distinct versions, introducing filter-swept chords in the Dub Mix, and an even deeper submersion in the second Dub Mix that perfectly eclipses the raw temperament of the original. Due for release in mid-January 2011 on Hotflush Two, this much-touted single is seeing the light of day after its inclusion in Scuba’s groundbreaking SUB:STANCE mix compilation on Ostgut Ton earlier this year. Here we see the budding London-based producer reaching into the brighter side of dubstep and garage styles, achieving a mood that is both blissful and emotive.
