British tour de force Rene Wise is an exciting talent synonymous with hair-raising and hard-nosed Techno. A name that's been confidently claiming its stake in common lexicon with a passion for polyrhythms, forward-looking frequencies and kaleidoscopic beats. It's the mind-expanding potential of his favourite genre that forms the basis of his new vinyl release on Bassiani Records. Drawing on personal experiences of the psychedelic sort, he also cites the role of atmosphere and spatial configuration in the making of his sound, in his own words: 'the space that the music is presented in, is hugely important and there are some very unique and special spaces in the world that capture the true essence of how techno music should be experienced. Bassiani is one of these places.' Well that praise goes both ways, it's hard to imagine a more fitting EP for the club. This four track release is both an homage to the Bassiani floor and a powerful dive into a trippy realm of Techno Wise has spent his years as a musician diligently exploring. Brighton-based producer Rene Wise is next to land on Setaoc Mass' SK11_X offshoot, coming off the back of a batch of releases on Luke Slater's respected Mote Evolver imprint and a recent collaboration with Rodhad, with his own purist take on groovy yet hypnotic, minimal techno. Wise offers four variations of precision-drilled rolling club-tools, first with the static-charged, tribal calls of "Pleasure Note", to the bouncier, groove-laced "Swamp Dancer". On the flip side, "Hollow" focuses the intensity, whilst "Changa" completes the home-straight with its boundless energy and delirium inducing synth parts. More

After his recent remix of Dustin Zahn’s ‘Submit Yourself,’ Rene Wise returns to Enemy Records with his own EP, “Jungle House.” All 5 tracks are perfectly in line with Wise’s signature grooves while delivering different moods suited for each part of the night.

“Jungle House” is an EP that has been teased by a few select taste-making DJs in their sets over the past year. Pandemic delays be damned, the record has finally arrived!

Screeching kicks things off with a heavy bleep-focused hook that slowly evolves over the track while remaining focused and restrained. It’s a perfect balance of old school Techno influence with new school nuances and sensibilities. Jungle House flips the script with saturated jacking drums and hypnotic vocals. It’s the ideal track for injecting some funk into the mix while keeping things deep and rolling.

Cosmo drops the heads-down business and goes straight for the jugular. It’s full of peak-time energy thanks to a pulsating, percussive workout that constantly modulates and locks the user into the groove. Gummy closes out the 12” with an extremely hypnotic and trippy vibe that might have you wondering what the hell is going in that jungle at night. More

Following a string of collaborative EPs throughout the years, Mote-Evolver boss Luke Slater and Ashley Burchett (Ø [Phase]) return under Roog Unit to Slater's imprint, delivering another set of mind-bending, boundary-pushing techno tracks tried and tested in their back to back sets under the alias.

Leading the release, 'Bash Box' brings a high-energy stomper peppered with menacing kicks and siren-esque leads, coming in at a blistering 156bpm. 'Don't Let Go' follows with tripped-out vocals and tweaked basslines making for a heads-down cut. On the flip, 'Koox' sees the duo reach for wonky, twinkling synths atop a fierce sizzling drum hook. 'Sanity Regard' takes the B2 spot, rounding out another stellar EP from two of techno's most revered talents.

The releases arrives as part of Mote-Evolver's new series of in-person artist collaborations, with each EP capturing the creative moment as it happens, with results aimed squarely at the dance floor. Dutch artists Speedy J and Steve Rachmad have long been defining the techno underground with seminal tunes on a range of influential labels. For their new release, the duo jammed in Speedy's studio for their new release, working the live results into four fresh and powerful new tracks, kicking off a new series of live collaborations on Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver.

The intense and textural 'Reddo' kicks off with industrial synth lines designed for maximum warehouse impact before 'Dabler Nine' brings its deep rolling drums and mind-melting synth lines late into the night. 'Right Well and Clean' has fresh, airy kick drums rolling beneath harsh and icy hi-hats before 'Rotor' closes the release in cosmic fashion with spiralling pads and intensely layered synths and drums.

This new series will see artists collaborating in person, with each EP capturing the creative moment as it happens, with results aimed squarely at the dance floor. Planetary Assault Systems is one of UK techno veteran Luke Slater's most enduring aliases, a project focused on forward-thinking techno with maximum cerebral impact. 'In From The Night' came out in 1993 as part of the 'Planetary Funk Vol 1 EP' on Peacefrog and has remained an underground favourite since.

Here on his own Mote-Evolver label, Slater revisits the track with a fresh perspective across two edits and an interpretation from Drumcode's Adam Beyer and celebrated Brazilian DJ/producer Webbha. The techno titans team up to deliver a remix with thunderous energy as tense synths patterns loop, evolve, and grow ever more edgy as the track unfolds throughout.

On the flip, the first 'P.A.S. Edit' is a potent touch-up that finds pounding drums overlaid with raw and textural synth patterns alongside occasional crashing claps and a rising sense of dark cosmic energy. The 'P.A.S. Live Edit' unfolds in broken patterns and reverberates with menace as more searing synth lines fire across the dance floor.

Active as a vinyl DJ for over 20 years, the Brazilian-born, Berlin-based DJ/producer prepares her first release for Luke Slater's Mote Evolver with 'Magnify EP' this December.

Leading the release is the titular 'Magnify', combining dense arpeggios with heaving kicks and sizzling percussion, the track looks straight to the dancefloor with a no-nonsense, club-focused arrangement. 'Concentrate' follows suit, with The Lady Machine drawing for crunching drum rhythms as unruly mechanic samples run wild throughout.

On the flip, 'Amplify' brings together hypnotic synths over a rumbling 4/4 for a trippy affair before 'Collide' closes out the release with a heavy and rolling cut destined for dark rooms and late nights. Cementing her status as one of the most exciting acts in techno in recent years, her 'Magnify EP' for Mote-Evolver is a triumphant display of The Lady Machine's production talents.

This October, LaFontaine and Orbe drop the seventh chapter of Mote-Evolver's 'Parallel Series', curated by label founder Luke Slater.

After the first release by Luke Slater (as L.B.Dub Corp) and ASC in 2011, the 'Parallel Series' has continued to host split releases from the likes of Shifted, Rene Wise, Billy Turner, Bas Mooy, Developer, Truncate, Sev Dah, Jeff Rushin, and more.

The seventh instalment on Mote-Evolver sees 199X Recordings founder LaFontaine debut on the label following releases on Planet X and Negativ Notion. Kicking off the release is '3015', a track that immediately captured the ears of Slater after Ø [Phase] played it during b2b live stream in his studio. The resonating kicks, detuned synths and off-kilter sonics pulsate strikingly throughout before 'Kokkur' keeps the hypnotic energy flowing with aquatic fx, deep space pads and oscillating grooves.

Fernando Sanz and his Orbe Records imprint has been lashing the block-rocking techno of Sanz's comrades Eduardo De La Calle and Steve Stoll, but mainly of Sanz's prolific moniker, Orbe. He provides murky soundscapes, smoky chords and orbiting drums in his '9DVR' cut until 'Trimax' rounds off the release with kinetic synth flutters and glistening bleeps that ebb and flow with the ghostly atmospheres.

Steve Rachmad, aka Sterac returns to Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver imprint this May to release the 'Numbers' EP.

Since his earliest days in the scene, Amsterdam's Steve Rachmad has created a legion of monikers to cover his compositions' variety and broadness. One of them being Sterac which focuses on the deeper and more obscure end of the techno genre. The Sterac discography consists of signature cuts, spread out over genre-defining labels such as M-Plant, Tresor, Klockworks, Afterlife, Mote-Evolver, Indigo Aera, and Delsin.

His 'Numbers' EP sees Steve drop the first release of 2021 under his Sterac alias as he makes a return to Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver label with four tunnelling techno tracks.

Kicking off the release is 'Ghost 37', which employs vacillating grooves, ominous synths and intricate mechanics before 'Lost Track 22' fuses sizzling 303s, dynamic drums and mammoth, alien-sounding modulations.

On the flip, 'Rey Fur 2.1' keeps the energy flowing with a high-impact clapper featuring bustling fx and expansive tones until 'Tr-15' masterfully rounds off the EP with twisting synth flutters, rattling highs and hypnotic bass grooves intricately unfolding underneath.

Luke Slater and O [Phase] combine for the second release under their RoogUnit guise on Mote-Evolver this April with the 'Nu Rebels Club' EP.

Following 2017s 'Mesh' EP release, the second outing from two of techno's most revered talents in Mote-Evolver boss Slater and Ashley Burchett (O [Phase]), sees the duo indulge in a vast sonic exploration into the world of hypnotic techno shot through with intricately interwoven soundscapes and glacial atmospheres.

The release follows a live streamed set via Mote-Evolver's Bandcamp page on March 5th featuring a 4.5hr live B2B DJ set from RoogUnit.
