Road tested at summer festivals and on the 1-800-DINOSAUR BBC R1 residency show the 200 Press EP consists of 3 music songs and a weird poem, split across a 12" and 7" vinyl doublepack. The artwork has been carefully designed in photoshop by a designer before being printed onto individual labels by a machine and then stuck onto the vinyl. Each vinyl has been carefully placed into a black cardboard sleeve. This is the first ever release to be mastered by a pack of lions at the Addis Ababa Zoo in Ethiopia. Chris "Bam Bam" Westbrook is one of the unsung heroes of Chicago House. His Westbrook label was responsible for releasing a slew of quality records from artists like Armando & Mike Dunn as well as his own productions. One record that mysteriously never officially came out on the label was "Hot Spot" from 1987, never making it past White label stage. Here, for the very first time, "Hot Spot" finally gets a full release boasting all 4 alternate mixes of the track by the man himself. Suggestive lyrics, chattering drum machine rhythms and uplifting pianos in the classic raw Chicago style are what makes "Hot Spot" a special re-issue. Harking back to a headier time, the record still slams hard today and shows contemporary producers how House music should really be done. Next up on Creme Organization is someone who has been winning lots of fans with his tough, masculine house music in the last couple of years. Releasing on labels like Unknown to the Unknown and his own Hot Haus Recs, DJ Haus's sound is one that aims squarely at the dance floor. Up first here is 'Wurk it Girl', a slamming track with old school bass, sharp percussion and none stabs that are impossible not to move to. Various passion fuelled vocal cries also add to the sweaty atmosphere where next cut 'Little Pieces' gets a bit weird: chopped and cut up vocals form patchwork patterns above bursts of siren, bright synths and icy hi hats. Urgent and heavy, driven by tough kicks and with a freewheeling sense of fun, it's a veritable house bomb. Title track 'Peekaboo' is slower and more purposeful, with more weird vocals heavily treated and darting about above steel sounding stabs, glassy pads and smoother synths. The gritty, swinging 'Feel The Powde r' is a coked up house jam with lots of sleaze, manic indecipherable vocals and fat, squelchy bass. Weird but never too weird, this is nerve jangling, sweat inducing and high impact house of the highest order.

Celebrated ambient artist John Beltran jointly release not one but two vinyl compilations on Delsin Records in association with his own Dado label. The compilations, named Music For Machines Part 1 and Part 2, will take the form of two vinyl LPs released apart, with both releases complied together onto one CD available at a later date. Michigan born producer Beltran, of course, has released countless legendary EPs and LPs on labels like Peacefrog, Carl Craig's Retroactive and Belgium's R&S. His music has been licensed to high profile HBO TV series and a number of films, and pulls together elements of jazz, world music, organic soundscapes and electronic textures into compelling listening experiences. Most recently this came in the form of his Amazing Things album in 2013, whilst his career spanning Ambient Selections from 2011 is still a vital listen. Part 1 of the compilation pulls together new and exclusive tracks from the likes of Winter Flags, Blair French, David Elpezs and John himself, whilst part two focuses on the likes of Natalie Beridze, Kirk Degiorgio and Vincent Volt. Part 1 opens up with the found sound lushness of 'Winterfall Winds' before naturally unfolding through Reinehr's wintry harmonics and the crowning glory of Beltran's own titular track, which is a moving bit of textured modern classical music that sooths your mind, body and soul. As for Part 2, it is riddled with sumptuous sonic delights like Greg Chin's icy and alpine 'Dashboard Angels' and Mick Chillage's beautifully suspended 'Only In My Dreams'. Vincent Volt keeps things beautifully beachy with his 'Subway Arp' and A2B2C2's 'Stereometry' is a suitably sombre affair that closes the compilation down in style.

The long-awaited return of a Kompakt pioneer is upon us: REINHARD VOIGT finally presents new solo material with RACHANEE - the first 12" release under his own name since ALL IN from 2007 (KOMPAKT 168). Two impressive techno cuts jostle for a pole position in the frequency range, succesfully updating the artist's tried and true techniques for a contemporary crowd on the verge of blast-off. As far as first impressions go, opener and title track RACHANEE already scores in the first few seconds, thanks to the inspired use of its hypnotic voice sample - a lesson in catchy minimalism, it's this undulating snippet that draws the listener in, followed by a stoic but surprisingly funky bassline whose sex appeal clearly lies in its simplicity. The cut's genetic make-up marks it as a kinsman to Voigt & Voigt's output - notably their versatile debut full-length "Die Zauberhafte Welt der Anderen" (KOMPAKT 274 CD 104) and its use of found footage and collage aesthetics mixed up with enticing rhythm patterns. Flipside banger TISCH FÜR ZWEI has a slightly different mindset, displaying a dizzying fondness for vintage synth grinding established by stone cold Reinhard Voigt classics such as "How We Rock" (KOMPAKT 72) or "Supertiel" (KOMPAKT EXTRA 2). A jacked-up reminiscence and masterful reappropriation of this traditional art of mind-bending, the swerving bleeps keep the beats guessing, thus ensuring the right amount of insanity in a track that exclusively follows its own rules. With this one, you'll never jump in the same river twice.

Kerri's career in dance music stretches way back to the late 80's and he has remained at the top of his game throughout, thus rightfully earning him the title of - House Legend! As with the sampler before, the King Street vaults have been raided for only the highest quality cuts from his extensive back catalog. Kicking off the EP is his all-time classic, monster, dance-floor wrecking "Bar A Thym", A real deep House masterpiece that should need no introduction and the perfect way to start things off. Over on the flip we are treated to "Welcome To King Street" a deep, immense spoken word love letter to the dancers delivered in true "Kaos 6:23" fashion! This track has never been issued on vinyl before, only ever appearing on the 2012 King Street compilation of the same name. Finishing things off is "Be There", another solid banger lifted from the "Kaoz On King Street Chapter II" 12" from 1997. All in all, a killer selection of tracks from a true master! This (and the preceding) EP are the perfect points for those who missed these killer tracks first time around, or are a great place to start for those who are new to the legendary Mr.Chandler's sounds. All tracks included have been re-mastered and re-pressed in full conjunction with King Street Sounds, New York City.

Prepare to have your brain fried! Enjoy the jolt of electroshock therapy without having to step foot in a psych ward! Jack Fell Down—originally a production and DJ duo based out of Sheffield that now splits its time between there and London—has been around for a minute. James Vickers and Tony Craig (no Jack—sorry) released an excellent, albeit especially druggy, EP, on Home Taping Is Killing Music, back in 2012, which they followed with offerings for Manucci's Mistress, Dabit, and, most recently, Quintessentials. Finally, they've found their way to the other side of the Atlantic for their best record yet. Epiphany starts off by clubbing you over the head. The titular track is unrelenting techno driven by chunky chords and frenetic hats. “Blackmail” is more high-octane nastiness, though it does feel a bit looser and less aggressive than its companion. Matrixxman's version of “Overrated” (the original appears as a digital-only exclusive) is no less driven and energized, but the paranoia that fuels it is of a more austere variety. It's all looped, repeated madness, stacked in an orderly yet terrifying fashion. The 12” ends with “Space Junk,” a rather melodious and strangely uplifting track, though one no less capable of blowing the roof off any club than its associates found on this slab of wax. This record is JFD's perfect hand. It's equal parts party-starting mayhem, thoughtful throwback revelry, and classical reverence. That's the epiphany.

Hubie Davison returns to Leisure System December 1st, 2014 with the Khayyam Grey EP, his second release for the Berlin-based label and one that marks both his and Leisure System's funkiest output to date. Following on his 2013 debut of pastoral electronics and muffled house, Khayyam Grey highlights Davison's vivid production skills, drawing from a deep well of influences varying from Werkdiscs and Sound Signature to Bill Withers and Otis Redding. The three tracks here are also the strongest representative document yet of the 26-year-old Davison's DJing, which incorporates all manner of memorable house and assorted wonkiness and has seen him play in Panorama Bar, Corsica Studios, and Gaité Lyrique in Paris amongst numerous others. The title track takes cues from Daphni's stand-up-and-shout, sample-heavy house, while "Get On" is a comparatively restrained yet incredibly funky mid-tempo number. After their departure to Russia with OL Meda Fury head south west to Holland and visit star in the making D-Ribeiro, fresh from early releases on Midlight, Syncom Data and Finale Sessions. He kicks things off with the slow jam EP title track ‘Purple Ghost Dance’. Smoke trails of the LA abstract scene twist amongst eerie wind chimes and disembodied cartoon voices. MPC beatdown drums carry the tone and support an adjoining jazz-funk bass motif. Upping the tempo with compressed breaks and fantasy staccato bleeps comes ‘Nightosphere. More half heard voices and shakers precede the double drop of rubbery moog-like bass and a woody hip-hop kick and rimshot. An array of filtered samples and offset hats and claps intro ‘D4NGR’. Before the stumbling Detroit style groove and disco-funk jelly bassline slap you giddy! A seriously off-kilter floor-filler, for the freaks only! Dilla-esque beats and skyward game console melodies unite on the head nodding ‘Subliminal Seducer’. The mangled squelches of a twisted P-funk bass guitar keep pace while drifting R&B vocal samples float above and around, while more interplay is created by extra lashings of percussion. The hyperactive day-glo set closer ‘Lumpy Space People’ starts with bone rattling percussion and breaks, the rasping pitch-bent bassline doing junkyard battle with various animated characters, and no clear outcome.

Peerless rhythmist and sonic explorer Afrikan Sciences makes his PAN debut with 'Circuitous,' the third full-length, freeform offering from the New York-based artist. At the nexus of Afrofuturism, science fiction, transcendental free jazz, and future hip hop, this new work from Eric Porter Douglas casts itself and its creator in a liminal zone most recognizably charted by astral traveler Sun Ra. 'Circuitous' follows from nearly a decade of releases for Deepblak -the Oakland-rooted imprint of frequent collaborator Aybee- and shares common blood with both the elevated conscious- ness of late '80s club culture and contemporary West Coast beat scene Built around Douglas' signature polyrhythms and complex melodies, the unorthodox agility demon- strated throughout the album's fourteen tracks reflect his long history of live, improvised sets combining multiple turntables, upright bass, and a command center of digital tablets and controllers. Each track maps the artist's own movements, tracing paths of flight, highway trajectories through tunnels and over bridges, and rides through rough and gated neighborhoods. As 2014 comes to an end, the London based duo is closing the year with yet another split EP. On the A-Side we have ’’Vimmes’’, a low-slung groove with percussive textures that expand gradually and steadily, evolving along shadowy soundscapes and intricate rhythms. It’s a fine example of Holdie Gawn’s personal style, stripped back grooves moving along melodic tones and sound design. After the extensive "Uncanny Valley 20" compilation we go back to our classic 4- track-format for "Uncanny Valley 025". Taking the chance to introduce 3 new artists to our roster, we warmly welcome Lake People, Philipp Triebel and RJ (who is also one half of Duererstuben) to add their distinctive flavour to this record. Lake People doesn't need an introduction anymore as his smart and emotional productions are making rounds from Ibiza to your basement club around the corner. His "Unexpected End Of Archive" is another example for his knack to produce tracks that evokes an emotional maelstrom on the dance floor. Beautiful synth melodies are meandering throughout the tune while the slick drum arrangement provides just enough tension to keep your feet on the floor. Philipp Triebel caught our ear with his live set when we played together at a party in his hometown Giessen. After handing in demos for some time he now contributes "Unity" to t his compilation. Clocking in at just 4 and a half minutes it gets us moving with tight chords, tricky drums and a short but prominent synth melody that will be heavy on the dance floor. The B-side features two tracks by RJ who will also be a member of RBMA 2015 in Tokyo. "Leo" is an excellent piece of slowly rising House music that pushes the right buttons at just the right time. With melancholic robots on vocals duties and dreamy synth pads this track literally tells a story. Closing the record is "Nie" which rises the pace and takes a similar path like its predecessor with moony synths and a very catchy melody. As always with the Various Artists EPs on Uncanny Valley, the artwork is by courtesy of illustrator Paul Waak, this time with a fresh new approach.

Laura Jones’ second EP for Visionquest ‘Eskipade’ takes a more serious turn for the respected female producer. Featuring two hypnotic, rattling acid tracks together with a remix from Sweden-based techno producer OCH, this is the sound of her stepping into new shoes. After a summer living in Ibiza playing regularly for DC10, Laura Jones makes her return to London on one of her home labels, Visionquest. With over twelve years of piano training and three in cello and clarinet, Laura understands the dynamics of composition away from the bedroom computer with releases on key labels such as Leftroom, Visionquest and Crosstown Rebels. As a remixer she´s earning a reputation for breathing new life into house classics like Romanthony´s ´Let Me Show You Love, Hollis P Monroe´s ´I´m Lonely´ and Todd Terry´s Bounce to the Beat.´ In between the studio and the DJ booth her unique stage presence has made her one of dance music´s most unforgettable discoveries. OCH has been an active figure within the UK music scene since the 1990s. Globally he is recognised for his unique yet jackin’ signature sound which has appeared on premium house and techno imprints such as Trelik, PAL SL, All Inn, Bass Culture, Sect and Systematic.
