After a year of collaborative releases, Kyle Hall, under the alias KMFH, has produced a debut album; a fusion of original work, sample tracks, and raw edits. The Boat Party album artwork pokes fun at European summer boat parties and juxtaposes the destitute state of Detroit and its recent proneness to discarded luxury in financial crises. Mainly, the inability to leave and the sometimes pleasant isolation of a boat party is what the album exudes. The listener has a certain commitment to the material which definitely has its place on the dance floor. You can find tracks that have soulful, funky, and organic feels, while others have a more abstract, mechanical, and robotic sentiments. Katastematic Pleasure is the epicurean philosophical concept that the magnitude of pleasure reaches its limit at the removal of all pain. In a sonic sense, this connects to the idea of subtractive equalization or the removal of unpleasant frequencies i.e. taking away the part of the sound you don’t enjoy as much, in turn, leaving the pleasurable parts of the sound intact. Katestematic pleasure is about creating cleanliness and clarity in your life so that your experience is pleasurable by simply the virtue of being.
Solar/Lunar Duality: The Vinyl EP is divided into two planetary bodies. Side A — The “Solar Side” and Side B — “The Lunar” Side. The Sun's energy is one that is everlasting as long as its shining all that receives its rays will continue its growth and abundance. The Moon represents the nature of receptivity the feminine principle which captures the light energy of the sun and reflects it back and governs our physical natural cycles and tides of the waters both internally and externally. The cycles of the moon when we decide to to be attentive to its influence we start to know when to retreat when to rest , when to repair our selves and intuitively when to bloom express our vivaciousness and attract things to ourselves. Detroit Swindle follow up last year’s soulful highlight ‘The life behind things’ with some impeccable disco-funk on steroids: the Coffee in the
Morning EP featuring Jitwam. The ep features 2 originals, a dub mix and a stunning extended remix by Norwegian disco don Prins Thomas.
For Coffee in the morning, Detroit Swindle team up with India-via-London-to-NYC vocalist Jitwam, whose recent album Honeycomb on Tartelet
and his live collaboration with Kamaal Williams have shown the world just how talented he really is.
Coffee in the morning is more than anything a funk fueled disco bomb. The energy is set by a rolling bassline with a live touch (thanks to Xander
Vrienten) and percussion courtesy of their go-to-percussion-guy: Mauskovic Dance Band member Chris Bruining. The track bursts into action once
Jitwam’s vocals come in. His purple colored vocals push through with a full-on slapback delay, which adds nicely to the vintage vibe of the track.
The lyrics are fun in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way and deal with life’s more pressing matters like all the things you can have alongside your
coffee. You could argue that this track is not really about coffee, but something far more perverse, but that’s up to you decide. Back on topic: The
track takes a sharp jazzy turn once the saxophone is introduced (played by UK bred, Amsterdam based jazz dude Finn Peters), which moves
nicely between catchy riffs and completely berserk jazz-isms. Its the full on original that works best for us, but if you’re not really into coffee –or
vocals for that matter- there’s a more straightforward dub mix as well that steers away from all the breakfast related insinuations.
The a-side also holds the second collaboration, which moves into NY garage territory. Shuffling 909 percussion, live shakers and snares set the
vibe along with Jitwam’s vocals directing you to ‘Move out the way!’. The track is bumping, the bassline is thumping and the crowd could very well
be … (yes, it rhymes). The energy pitches up a notch once the synth hits come in and it flows up and down nicely into a section where strings,
Rhodes and cowbells take over into the breakdown. That’s where you get a moment to catch your breath, just before the full track comes back into
action again. If it weren’t for Corona, we’d see this funky house tune played at beach parties, rooftops, intimate clubs and house-head-gatherings
across the world for sure.
On the B-side, its Prins Thomas who takes you on a 10 minute long Scandi-disco trip with live drums and Thomas himself funkin’ on the bass. He
makes perfect use of the dreamy elements of Coffee in the morning, making his version an intimate and provocative dubby disco burner. If the
energy of the original is too much, this version might just be perfect for you.
This is a special piece of music for us that we’ve worked on for a long time and we’re really happy to finally share it with you. Let’s hope we all get
a chance to play the music out loud to more people than just your neighbors and your cat.

Ihr Titel „The Secret“ gibt ein wenig vor, was wir gerade beschrieben haben, denn momentan kann
man Azimute noch wirklich als Geheimtipp bezeichnen. Ihr Cocoon Release dürfte einer unserer
Releases mit dem höchsten Soul-Faktor sein. Betörende Vocals, klackernde Percussion-Sounds aus
den Untiefen des Techno-Klanguniversums und im zusätzlichen House-Mix noch mal alles mit
warmen und hypnotischen Filter Chords dekoriert servieren uns Azimute eine Produktion mit
unglaublich viel Tiefgang.

Having studied the complicated art of dreaming on Live At The Robert Johnson earlier this year, DC Salas returns with another remarkable clutch of cosmic excursions. Linking up with long-standing Parisian chic beat connaisseurs Slowciety, it's time for Salas to show us a little 'Exquisite Chaos'…

The clue is in the title; 'Exquisite Chaos' is smooth, classy, hi-definition piece of intergalactic drama. Sweeping synths, rocket-fuelled kicks and a bassline that could circumnavigate the universe many times over without needing to refuel, it's a classic DC Salas trip, the likes of which we've soaked up on labels such as Correspondant, Nein, BPitch and beyond.
It's backed up by the poignantly titled 'Undivided'. A call for unity, it's rattled with acid and sinewy synth lines all thrusting upwards with the positivity we missed for so long this year. Finally 'Forgotten Memories' if a full-on march into a neon unknown. Complete with flying flurries of breakbeats and rasping acid missives, it wraps up Salas's chaos theory exquisitely…. And it's backed by a remix from Roman Flügel.
Ensuring the EP climaxes with a fitting bang Flügel divides 'Undivided' into three movements, each one more bulldozing than the last. Supercharged with venomous acid and neck-snap breakbeats, it's Flügel at his most chaotic. And Slowciety at their most exquisite. We wouldn't expect anything less from DC Salas.
