Short Info:
Acclaimed musicians Nitai Hershkovits and Daniel Dor will release their highly anticipated album, “The Garden Suite”, on Circus Company. Following their previous collaboration on Daniel Dor’s debut album, “Four Petals”, this new project sees the duo exploring uncharted musical territory with an innovative, Moog-based sound.
Inspired by the groundbreaking work of synth pioneer Malcolm Cecil, “The Garden Suite” marries electronic textures with the richness of orchestral sound. Drawing from a vast range of influences, including the works of Benjamin Britten and Fredrick Delius, Hershkovits and Dor meticulously composed each track, layering Moog synthesizer melodies to emulate various instruments from the orchestra - from French horn to percussion, guitar, brass, and woodwinds. The result is a sound that is lush yet light, deeply textured yet not dense.
“The Garden Suite” marks a significant evolution in the partnership between Hershkovits and Dor, with their new compositions shifting from the rhythmic focus of “Four Petals” to a more texture-driven approach. The album showcases their ability to create genre-defying soundscapes, blending Daniel’s rhythmic system, “The Flower,” with lush, ambient layers of sound created on the Moog.
Nitai Hershkovits, known for his extensive work in jazz and classical music, began his musical journey as a clarinetist before transitioning to piano at the age of 15. His early passion for improvisation and jazz earned him several jazz competition awards in Tel Aviv. Nitai’s career highlights include his fiveyear tenure with the Avishai Cohen Trio, and his numerous projects as a solo artist, including work with ECM and his band Apifera.
Daniel Dor, a drummer and multi-instrumentalist, was born into a family of musicians in Tel Aviv. He began exploring rhythm at the age of 10, building his first drum set out of household objects. His innovative rhythmic method, “The Flower”, gained attention with his debut solo piano album, “Four Petals”, which led to his collaboration with Hershkovits. Daniel has performed with notable artists such as NOA, Avishai Cohen, and Chano Dominguez, and regularly lectures on rhythmic symmetry and music.
With “The Garden Suite”, Hershkovits and Dor offer a unique listening experience that challenges traditional genre boundaries. Their seamless fusion of rhythm, melody, and texture creates a soundscape that is as experimental as it is captivating.

Short Info:
High Hopes - New album from the Mole.
High Hopes is 17 songs across 40 minutes on one slice of wax that, as advertised, sounds nothing like last month’s Ep, High Dreams. Here, rather than the long form dance form, is a continuation of the
beat tape pacing from the last album, a collection of moments posing as ideas posing as a narrative stuffed with oddities and surprises that reward the close listen.
What’s heard on High Hopes is the Mole’s exploration of a love letter, from one person to a family, from the northern Pacific to the southern Atlantic, from a boy to a painted bird. Vancouver Island to
Manantiales. The songs range from ambient sound bath and hip hop sludge, up to micro boogie and almost House before tumbling back down and forth again. Bubbling synths, MPCs swung out, samples
chopped and chewed, bass and violins from Rick and Sophie, field recordings of birds and frogs and beaches, friends and family and fiestas. Did we mention the love ?! This album has got it all! Original
collages from Antonio Carrau envelope this wax: jacket, sleeve and cookie.
Antonio’s work is typified by playful combinations and bold statements about living in a embrace of analog and digital health. His collages marry the corporeal world with an updated, digitalized age of
reproduction, inducing feelings of gratitude for the simple everyday scenes we sometimes lose touch with when we forget to slow down. Good living, like breathing, requires inhaling as well as exhaling.
We can’t always produce content, make art, we must also pause, and listen. And enjoy. The Mole is joined by friends and colleagues on several songs included on High Hopes. Rick May plays bass on both Que Rico and album stand out GoinF4er. Sophie Trudeau (Godspeed You Black Emperor) plays and arranges violins on GoinF4er and Danuel Tate (Cobblestone Jazz) and Julz Chaz
(Wagon Repair) both play Vibes and Emaxx throughout the album. Working with these incredible talents not only enriched this album, but fulfilled a long standing goal of the Mole’s; to work again with
the musicians from whom he learned so much. People who helped inform the shape of Mole to come.
The Mole who was As High As The Sky. The Mole has been ‘recognized’ by the ‘global underground’ since his critically celebrated premiere album, As High As The Sky, but his earlier Eps (Wagon Repair, Philpot, Musique Risquee) got the attention of Top DJs, clubs, and festivals around the world first. His sound remains unique, fresh and deep: enjoying plays in a wide variety of spaces and places.
High Hopes is the Mole’s 5th solo album and his 2nd album for Circus Company (The River Widens) who have also proudly released two eps of Mole magic (Little Sunshine, High Dreams).
*Isn’t that too much time for one record? Short answer - No. Long answer - depends on the material. Due to the many quiet passages in the album, the groove spacing can be modulated and the needle
can slow it’s progress towards the center/end resulting in longer sides with continued high gain and low distortion.

Divine : The immobile odyssey.
For a long time before the success of Nôze led him to discover the rest of the world, Ezechiel Pailhès remained a prophet in: his country. For a long time as well, he worked on creating what became his first solo album, waiting for the right moment when he could no longer contain all the melodies that populate this 14-leg epic. A voyage in a free world, where creation knows no formal constraints, where everything mutates according to the determined inspiration of the moment. Transforming the original pieces without knowing in advance how they will end up, disguising the instruments so that they are mistaken for others, nothing frightens this intrepid sailor whose ship is nevertheless securely moored at home, Ezechiel composes and plays at home in Paris. Sole master on board, the tinkerer illusionist prepares his piano with mechanic's tools (scotch tape, rubber, percussion, wooden claves adrift over the strings), obtaining instruments that do not sound where we expect them. This adventure is, he says, a fiction he wants to believe in.The result is equal to the creator and his character.14 captivating melodies like siren songs, sometimes dressed in a simple lala or lyrics by David Lafore, 14 ports of call offering a sweetness that is at times extremely melancholy, 14 pieces whose implacable refrains take root the first time you listen to them. This is indeed a divine crossing people with wide-ranging references (Serge Regianni, D Angelo, Bernard Hermann, Timber Timbre, Stevie Wonder but also Henri Duparc, Moondog, Keith Jarett or Tony Benett ) that we are invited to share with Ezechiel whose career as a pianist has evolved on the stages where he has been performing for years as a duo with Nicolas Sfintescu (Nôze).
A succession of landscapes, of cinematographic images, some of the pieces were composed for movies and remained at the dock when others made their way to the silver screen (Bancs Publics co-written with David Lafore for Denis Podalydès )… A voyage that successively makes you want to dance, to dream, simply to listen the way you gaze at the horizon seated on the deck of a sailboat. There is the heady sailors' nostalgic longing (Quiétude, inspired by a sonnet of W. Shakespeare ) but also their cheerfulness, their lightness, the festive nature of the ports where things swing and the emotion of the infinite contemplated, the heart stirred by the swell. Divine is the companion for all trips, the disk you take to the deserted island and to the loft in Berlin, the disk that you play constantly without tiring of it because each listening reveals places you were unaware of, sounds that had not yet been discovered, because it thrills music lovers. Divine is the road songs that you want to share with your pals, but whose story you keep to yourself, this song reminds me of this, another takes me there. With the top up or down.
And you embark without resistance, Ezechiel is at the helm, you can travel calmly.

Short Info:
New music by The Mole. High Dreams contains four tracks, three originals and one remix from Circus Company favourite Dave Aju. The Mole savours dreaming and welcomes the mystical landscapes of
the mind with High Dreams, a collection of uptempo dance pieces inhabited by ghosts and welcoming creatures from the deeps. This unpretentious collection cuts straight with the rhythms, and carries long
with the arrangements. Dancefloor sizzle. Subsonic rumble. Ghosts! Your body moving requisites lie within this simple plate of wax. Turn up your amps and bathe in it.
The Mole is known for his “hits” (Baby You’re The One, Hippy Speedball, In My Song, Lockdown Party) and his “work” with many Top labels (Perlon, Kompakt, Wagon Repair, Maybe Tomorrow, Ostgut Ton)
is played by many Top DJs. Only his third release with Circus Company (Little Sunshine, The River Widens), this Ep is a reminder that the Mole is still at it, and a warning. There’s a new album upcoming.
And it sounds nothing like this…
With his 19th release with the label since 2003, Dave Aju is one of the pillars of modern Circus Company. Aju amplifies Losing Track, adding percussion and fresh, modern programming, giving the remix a whole
new purpose while maintaining the erie cries, calling out, desperate - don’t leave me hang ’n … of the original. A certain go to for the Deep Heads.

Short Info:
With his new instrumental album Ventas Rumba, the French composer (and singer) returns to his signature instrument, the piano, blending it with warm synth tones. This album represents a "return to his roots ", allowing Ezéchiel Pailhès to reinvent himself in a seamless way while still exploring ballads and ritornellos, halfway between light-heartedness and melancholy. Ezéchiel Pailhès has been meaning to write a solo piano album for as long as he can remember. Hardly surprising, of course, for this academically-trained pianist, brought up on classical music and then studied jazz. Yet, since his 2001 debut with the electro-pop duo Nôze, and his subsequent four albums, the artist had constantly postponed this project that was so close to his heart. Then in 2022, just as he was getting ready to start producing an album of new songs, this long-standing aim finally materialized.
The melodies he wrote seemed to stand on their own naturally, spurring him on to compose this series of fourteen tracks, recorded in sessions split between France and Latvia.
A new piano: the Una Corda
Ezéchiel wanted this project dedicated to the piano to begin a new narrative, to explore new instrumental terrain and new tones, something far removed from the familiar piano he has been playing all his life. He opted for the Una Corda piano, designed by David Klavins, a groundbreaking instrument builder renowned for his distinctive pianos with vertical shapes and frames.
The Una Corda, created in 2014, is an upright piano with a single string per note (unlike three strings on traditional pianos). Enticed by the "crystalline and unique" tones of this instrument, which is hard to find in France, Ezéchiel travelled to Kuldiga, Latvia (where David Klavins set up his workshops and studios), to record the first part of the album. Although the title of the album may initially conjure up images of a distant, sensual dance, the reality is quite different. Ventas Rumba indeed refers to the waterfall and rapids (in Latvian: rumba) of the river Ventas, which runs near this small village in the western part of the country. Ezéchiel chose to blur the lines, as the sound and musicality of the title likely evoke both his short stay in the Baltic country, and also a form of distant exotic imagery perfectly in tune with his own mischievous wit. Tracks as short stories
Back in France, Ezéchiel enhanced the first tracks recorded in Kuldiga with subtle synth tone layers, and added other tracks composed and recorded at his Montreuil studio. The album reflects a deliberate and sensitive orchestration of piano, synth keyboards and digital effects, as he puts it: "playing to erase the differences between the tones of the various instruments", as if each instrument's texture echoed the others. According to Ezéchiel, you can listen to Ventas Rumba as you would leaf through "a collection of short stories", through compositions that rarely exceed three minutes and evoke figures of movement, lightness, curves or modulation, such as "La ligne", "La valse des singes" or "Fly Finger". Others more seriously relate to a kind of spirituality, which quietly infuses such different tracks as "Ferveur", "Éclair" and "Louanges". Ezéchiel adds: “I’m by no means religious, but I like what God has managed to get musicians to achieve (laughs)". "Louanges", for instance, despite its electronic edge, "refers to Olivier Messiaen, a very devout composer who I greatly admire". Other tracks are directly inspired by the classical music he listens to on a daily basis. For example, Chopin's “8th Nocturne” formed the backdrop of “Pianovado”. Likewise, the harmonic structure of Beethoven's “Waldstein Sonata No. 21” inspired “Opus 53”. Aside from these multiple references and inspirations, which quickly recede behind a style that is uniquely his, Ezéchiel Pailhès keeps exploring ideas already found on his first solo albums, this time in an instrumental format, undoubtedly purer, fostering an imaginary world that evokes the shapes and themes of ballads, ritornellos, light-heartedness, passing time, reverie or a universal subdued melancholy.

Yuval Havkin, also known as Rejoicer, is one of the foremost exponents of downtempo music, inspired by the fusion of jazz and hip-hop. His new album thus draws on his early influences while exploring the world of calm, melodic electronic music that borders on ambient.
This Is Reasonable has a chill-out feel to it, a record filled with melodies and atmospheres that, throughout its eleven tracks, conveys a sense of calm and floating, akin to ambient music. Stripped of the clichés of the genre, the album is built around subtle melodies and rich harmonies from keyboards and synths, which borrow as much from the spirit of jazz as from the inventions of electronica, whilst being supported by a gentle groove. This equilibrium is perfectly captured by Rejoicer's moniker, a term that evokes both the idleness of artificial paradises and a soft, caring form of spirituality.
Musical path
Yuval Havkin was born in Israel in 1985, and grew up in England before returning to his homeland. He began studying classical piano as a child, but was put off by such conservative teaching and turned to hip-hop and beatmaking in his teens. Throughout the 2000s, he learned his skills "on the job", working with musicians he met in Tel Aviv, a local scene that nurtured a sense of community and emulation. Back then, he was particularly impressed by the grooves and electronic inventions of Detroit producer Dabrye, who had a revelatory effect on him, before he discovered legendary musicians Madlib and Jay Dee aka J Dilla, who led him down the path of beatmaking.
Yuval Havkin's music career got off to a more serious start in the late 2000s with the creation of his own label, Raw Tapes, both based in Tel Aviv. Blending jazz, funk and hip hop, whilst still embracing pop influences, the label's productions showcased the richness of the new Israeli scene combining cool, elegance, playfulness, and a degree of research and inventiveness, thanks to the talent of artists and bands such as Duo Brothers, Maya Dunietz, iogi, Nitai Hershkovits, the Buttering Trio and Rejoicer, the artist's most personal project.
In 2018, Rejoicer's warm and engaging sounds caught the attention of the prestigious Los Angeles label Stones Throw, renowned for having signed his idols Madlib and J Dilla, not to mention Aloe Blacc and Peanut Butter Wolf (its founder). Two albums followed, Energy Dreams (2018) and Spiritual Sleaze (2020), both of which demonstrate his instrumental mastery, jazz culture and lush orchestrations. Both albums are on a par with more renown sampling prodigies of the beat scene, and gave him his first international recognition.
Now based between Los Angeles and Savyon, near Tel Aviv, this hyperactive and instinctive artist simultaneously pursues a career as a composer, musician and label owner, member of numerous bands and collective projects (Apifera, PlayDead, collaborations with Jimi Prasad and Avishai Cohen) while also offering his studios and production skills to other artists. “Fela Kuti meets Aphex Twin”
This new Rejoicer album, which follows three earlier jazz-tinged records, marks a new and more personal musical direction for an artist who previously favored group work and collaborations. Yuval chose here to delve into a more electronic and sequenced style of music, playing Prophet 6 and 8 synths, a Juno 60, a Minimoog and his Fender Rhodes keyboard, in contrast with the more organic sounds of his previous albums. While a few tracks on this new album may sound like a laid-back version of some of the Warp label's early electronic classics by Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada, Yuval Havkin claims to have also been inspired by the great Fela Kuti, particularly in his search for harmonies between bass, keyboards and
percussion, and by his elder trumpet-playing friend Avishai Cohen, a musician he particularly admires.
Beyond these various influences, This Is Reasonable is an album of compelling and bewitching melodies. The moods, peacefulness and sheer beauty of This Is Reasonable are, indeed, quite paradoxical, in stark contrast to the country's tragedies (the title explicitly refers to recent political disputes in Israel) and the war currently raging less than a hundred miles from his studio. A paradox fully embraced by the artist, who views his music as a response to the violence of our times.

Short Info:
Alan Abrahams aka Portable returns to the label in fine form with his latest full-length LP, Augmented
Dreams. The title refers to the use of everyday technological advancements to achieve what were once
only dreams or visions of past generations, making this an explorative concept album that is equal parts
not-too-distant science fiction, and about as topical as it gets.
From the gorgeous opening string layers of “The Pull of Time” to the classy 4/4 grooves of “Begin Again”
or lead single “Guiding Me”, into the apropos and angular sci-fi broken beat feels of “Parallax” and “The
Color of Static”, fitting Detroit-influenced love taps like “Beacon” and “The Mycorrhizal Network”, the
politically-inspired “Are We Not Above It?” referencing the lingering effects of colonization featuring NiQ
E from South Africa on vocals and L_cio from Brazil on flute, through to the futurist pop elegance of the
dreamy duet recorded with Alexey Kochetkov “I Need You” and the conclusive titular track, it is clear
that both the in-depth concept and immaculately-crafted musical content in Portable’s inimitable style
are balanced in significance and expressive effect. This also functions as a timely statement in itself, as
today’s iceberg-tip evolution of AI technology is currently impending over the arts and many of our
existing realities.
This ten-song album serves as an imaginative yet hyperrealist narrative on how humanity’s fascination
with and reliance on ever-advancing technology defines the times we find ourselves in, while the skillful
sonic displays and present-era production techniques along with Abraham’s knack for timeless emotive
songwriting offer up this solid soundtrack for the ages.

Short Info:
The ever-prolific and established artist Alan Abrahams aka Portable makes a swift and very welcome return to Circus Company with the impressive lead single "Guiding Me", giving us an early taste of his forthcoming album Augmented Dreams to be released in the fall.
Conceptually the direction of this new project refers to the use of technology to alter our dreams, inadvertently or not, as so much tech advancement becomes available and ingrained in our daily lives. The timely lead single here inspired by Abraham's South African ancestors the Khoi San people and the guidance they provide, appropriately exuding both futurist formed sonics and dream-like tenderness in content, led by his dulcet-toned vocals and delivered with the super solid production we've come to expect. Wonderful multi-purpose electronic music which will find itself right at home on late-night discerning dance floors, or indeed guiding the listener through their respective travels, solo meditations or get-downs in headphones.
Along with the excellent "Guiding Me" original mix, we are graced with a masterful remix by Hamburg's Lawrence of Smallville and Dial fame, who takes the track into an even more floor-focussed realm with his patented rolling sub-bass lines which will guarantee plenty of summertime sound system finessing, as well as the EP-exclusive B2 track "Vigor" in which Portable goes even deeper in tone with classic styled vocal cut-ups and repurposed shards of tasty sound design added to keep the dancers endlessly entranced when and wherever they may be.

Kenneth Scott - Light Blooming
Genre: Electro, House
Tracklist:
A1. Firesound - B1. Lost Sonar - B2. Light Blooming
Short Info:
Following well-received collaborative outings for us as 1/2 of the SF dynamo duo Moniker whose classic
“Billy D” anthem and respective Patrice Scott remix graced the early catalog, followed by the galactic
flex Straylight EP with Cali brethren Dave Aju on velvet vocoder vox b/w a stellar Kai Alcé remix on the
Another offshoot imprint, and of course his indelible contributions to the arrangements/derangement of
the wondrous KAMM LP Cookie Policies, Kenneth Scott is essentially an extended family household
name for our camp and so we’re beyond proud to present his initial solo release for the Circus Company
label proper. Schooled as always in the deepest of electronic music roots and classiest of track
traditions, the three pieces that form the Light Blooming EP puzzle display all the prized synth wizardry
and production ingenuity we’ve come to expect from the Berlin-based veteran.
“Firesound” kicks us off in fine form, with a glistening array of pads and tight arpeggios that give way to
a soulful funk strut that any fan of Detroit-style electro flavors will enjoy to the fullest. We then move to
the stylized 4/4 pulse of the aptly-titled “Lost Sonar”, an extended live set for Lost Sonar Collective
skillfully condensed and finessed into a smooth-as-silk true deep house cut, where warm synth tones
set the sound bed while shards of sharper percussion and angular textures flash and fizz throughout,
creating an ultra-fresh contrasting feel while a rock-solid groove grinds us along faithfully. Scott then
finally closes out the set with the powerful and titular “Light Blooming” which begins with a similar rising
pad intro before unleashing fierce and raw overdriven drum programming, teasing us out to the two
minute mark when the mighty sub bass line and multi-layered arps drop in to devastating effect, bubbling
and building to a bold harmonic apex, before eventually bringing us down softly and somehow with ease
after such a glorious rise.
Filled with early-Warp feels and futurist sci-fi hopes in equal measure, the Light Blooming EP is three
tracks of pure funk precision and expressive musical class from the man Kenneth Scott

Short Info:
On his fourth solo album, much as in Oh! (2020), the French composer, pianist and vocalist follows his
ongoing exploration of the crossroads between poetry and songs, piano and synth, old-time verses
and contemporary sounds. Inspired by the rhythms, effects and speech patterns of urban music, he
also delivers, with a warm and moving voice, the texts of three poetesses from the past.
Since 2013, Ezéchiel Pailhès has been crafting a unique French synth pop. On his first three albums,
he switched between songs inspired by poetry, instrumental ballads and electronica with hummed
choruses. This latest record is a collection of eleven new songs, two of which he wrote: "Opaline" and
"Ni toi, ni moi" (neither you nor me). The others are adaptations of poems written in the 16th, 18th and
19th centuries by French poetesses Louise Labé (1524-1566), Marceline Desbordes-Valmore (1786-
1859) and Renée Vivien (1877-1909).
Poetesses from the past...
From classical music to songs, poetry adaptation is an old French tradition. "My universe has always
embraced the musicality of this literary genre," the artist recalls. He actually started this project in 2017
with poems and sonnets by William Shakespeare, Pablo Neruda, Victor Hugo and above all Marceline
Desbordes-Valmore, who can be heard again on songs such as "Dors-tu?" (Are you sleeping?),
"Élégie" or "L'attente" (The wait). A figure of romanticism, the author left her mark on the early 19th
century through the quality of her texts and her formal inventions, particularly praised by Balzac, and
apparently a decisive influence on Verlaine and Baudelaire. "Marceline's poetry is very musical," says
Ezéchiel admiringly. "Her use of rhythm and repetition sounds great and takes on a new perspective
when set to music. In fact, she wrote some of her texts with singing in mind.”
“Ces longs secrets dont l'amour nous accuse,
Viens-tu les rompre en songe à mes genoux ?
Dors-tu, ma vie ! ou rêves-tu de moi ?”
“These long secrets for which love accuses us,
Do you come to my knees to break them in a dream?
Are you sleeping, my life! or do you dream of me”
(“Dors-tu ?”, after “Les pleurs” (the tears), 1833)
Besides her, we find the more famous, and rebellious, Renée Vivien, whose texts inspired three
songs, "Regard en arrière" (Looking backwards), "Mélopée" (Melopoeia) and "La fille de la nuit" (The
night girl). Sometimes nicknamed "Sapho 1900", this figure of lesbian culture and, more broadly, of
female genius, combined in her work the themes of desire, dreams, melancholy and the relationship
with nature.
“Ta forme est un éclair
Ton sourire est l’instant
Tu fuis, lorsque l’appel
T’implore, ô mon Désir !”
"Your shape is a spark of lightning
Your smile, the very moment
You flee, when the calling
Begs you, O my Desire!"
(After “Parle-moi, de ta voix pareille à l’eau courante” (Speak to me, with a voice like flowing waters)
and “Ta forme est un éclair” (Your shape is a spark of lightning), Renée Vivien, 1901)
Lastly, with "Tant que mes yeux" (As long as my eyes), Ezéchiel was inspired by a 1555 poem by
Renaissance poet Louise Labé, whose main topic explored female love, physical and spiritual desire,
and the torments and pains they generate.
" At the start of the project ", Ezéchiel continues, " I was interested in many poets, men and women,
past and present, before my selection was narrowed down to these three female authors. Their works,
often written in difficult or secret conditions, express a raging romanticism, a passionate soul, fuelled
by desperate and tormented love. I found it interesting, as a man coming from another world and time,
to face this otherness, to trade viewpoints. Obviously, I could loudly claim that the album was the
result of a concept, that it reflects today's world, and that it allows me to explore the notion of gender,
giving visibility to the work of a few women, while at the same time pairing these ancient texts with a
more modern and rhythmic music, and obviously, there is some truth in that. But more than anything, I
wanted to serve the text itself, to express the emotion and connection I felt with these works.”
Today's rhythms and prosody...
Ezéchiel Pailhès combines texts from French literature with electronic music, its effects and rhythms,
as well as a form of scansion that echoes rap, R&B or the current fusion between hip hop and pop,
which is part of our musical background and that of younger generations. "I wanted to cross-reference
texts from the beginning of the century with this type of music. I wanted to use today’s techniques to
tell the tale of different daily lives and experiences.
The album is thus marked by contemporary electronic orchestrations, in which he drops his favourite
instrument, the piano, and his digital collage technique to use more extensive synth melodies,
enhanced by drum machines, bringing a gentle and bright vibe to the romantic texts. Lastly, we can
hear slight digital tones of Auto-Tune, which Ezéchiel uses sparingly and inventively.
Beyond its sophistication, the term "melopoeia" means a "sung declamation", a "recitative song",
sometimes interpreted in a monotonous way. On this album, it could also refer to a sense of phrasing,
which does not come from rap, but rather from jazz, Ezéchiel's first love. " In the past, I tried to hide
my jazz culture, but it naturally came back on this new album, as can be heard, for instance, in Regard
en arrière.” With its verses anchored in our literary memory, the following track "Mélopée", perfectly
illustrates the album's vision. It manages to transcend eras, mixing past romanticism with a modern
prosody, fuelled by the nonchalance of hip hop and the warm chords of jazz.
“Qu’un hasard guide enfin mon désespoir tranquille
Vers l’eau d’une oasis ou les berges d’une île,
Où je puisse dormir, mon voyage accompli,
Dans la sécurité profonde de l’oubli”
"May chance guide my quiet sorrow, at last
To the water of an oasis, the shores of an island,
Where I may sleep, having traveled my way,
In the safe depths of oblivion".
(After “Sillages” (Trails), René Vivien, 1908)

Portable - Ripple Effect (Call Super Remix)
(colored eco vinyl)
Genre: House, Minimal, Electronica
Tracklist :
A1. The Spacetime Curvature (DJ Qu Remix) - A2. I Feel Stronger Now (Patrice Scott Remix) -
B1. Ripple Effect (Call Super Remix)
Short Info:
In the wake of Portable’s acclaimed album My Sentient Shadow comes a trio of remixes which expand
on his unique slant on techno and synth-pop. Finding three artists who reflect his own experimental
tendencies within dance music, Alan Abraham’s original productions head into unexpected new places
while retaining the physical, club-ready energy he manages to instill in his own creations.
A true auteur within techno, DJ Qu brings a sense of poise and drama to ‘The Spacetime Curvature’
as he patiently builds the track into a fierce peak time monster driven by snarling bass and his
signature sizzling, shuffled percussion.
Patrice Scott has a reliably smooth, immersive approach to deep Detroit house, and it lends itself
beautifully to Abraham’s melancholic vocal on ‘I Feel Stronger Now’.
Leaning in on the jazz dimension of his wide-ranging electronica, Call Super revels in the sweetness of
‘Ripple Effect’ and places delicate piano playing upfront before slipping into a relaxed, sentimental
kind of garage and eventually edging towards an uplifting, off-centre strain of house music.
Individual in their own right and yet naturally entwined with the emotional intention of the original
versions, this is a set of remixes which pay full credit to the source material while offering something
you won’t expect, like a great remix should do.

Gerry Read - B.1 Paramol

Gerry Read - B.2 Risotto
Genre: House
Tracklist :
A.1 Lean on Something - A.2 Wooer at the Well - B.1 Paramol - B.2 Risotto
Short Info:
North London-by-way-of-Suffolk soundsmith Gerry Read delivers his first release for Circus
Company with the Lean on Something EP. After countless examples of his bold production moves
on many of our brother and sister labels including Herbert’s Accidental Jr to more recently on Koze’s
Pampa Records, Read has always displayed a kindred spirit mindset to ours in his adventurous
musical angles, and we are very happy to present this particular set of rock-solid and uniquely
diverse pieces.
The title track “Lean on Something” starts things off in fine and classic Read form, with knocking
found-sound percussion, fizzing textures and slick use of chopped and disorienting vocal sample
bits, as the track layers unfold into a whimsical and wondrous melodic stargazing anthem. “Wooer
at the Well” then follows and picks up the tempo with those fly live acoustic drum lines that gives
Gerry’s tracks that special beyond-electronic feeling, while once again the deft layering of such a
rich sound palette builds and builds giving other mavericks like Four Tet a sincere run for their
money. The mood then brilliantly shifts on the next track “Paramol”, where Read treats us to an
almost Robotnik-era Italo sprinkling amidst his otherwise forward-thinking club floor-filling
tendencies, with an amazing array of synth sections and an arrangement that should satisfy even
the neo-purists out there amongst us. Finally, “Risotto” wraps up the proceedings with a warm,
jazzy bouncer reminiscent of both Read’s as well as our own catalog’s charming early offerings,
and a kind of landing-at-home-base sensation with smoky cubist funk feelings and an equal parts
rough-yet-undeniably cool effervescent groove.

AOW - Boa
2
AOW - Red Alert
3
AOW - Organico
Genre: House
Tracklist :
A1. Boa - B1. Red Alert - B2. Organico
Short Info:
AOW is a new collaborative project from Dan Ghenacia and Tolga Fidan emerging from a new period of creativity and inspiration for the Lisbon-based artists.
Long time friends and fellow lynchpins of the European house and techno scene, Ghenacia and Fidan started working closely together through 2020 and 2021 while sharing studio space at Boa Lab. They
found themselves at the heart of an artistic community of musicians, designers and engineers, which took shape around Ghenacia’s experiments with alpha wave generation, inspired by Bryon Gysin’s
Dream Machine.
Ghenacia and engineer Anine Kirsten developed a modern update on Gysin’s 1950s design, which has been installed at exhibitions in London, Lisbon and Paris. At its heart, the project explores the
natural hallucinatory effects of alpha wave projections on the eyelids, and the therapeutic benefits of the experience. Out of this spirit of psychedelically-charged experimentation, Ghenacia and Fidan
have been working beyond the confines of their typical club-oriented material, creating ambient soundtracks to artist exhibitions in Boa and auditory backdrops to Alpha Wave Experience
installations.
AOW bridges the gap between this new period of creativity and Ghenacia and Fidan’s life-long passion for electronic dance music. Compared to the strictures of house and techno they’re best
known for, the three tracks on Hear the Light explore a more open, inquisitive sound with roots in UK electronica and West Coast psychedelic breaks (a seminal scene when Ghenacia was in the Bay Area
in the 90s). Crucially though, it’s not a pointedly retro sound, but rather a result of rich streams of inspiration meeting and passing through crisp, modernist production techniques to offer something
genuinely fresh on the ears.
Working outside of their comfort zones and guided by creative philosophies springing from research, shared experience and community, Hear the Light marks a new step forward for Ghenacia and Fidan,
with many more developments promised for the future.

Short Info:
Following hot on the heels of lead single and recent mind-body tantalizer “I Feel Stronger Now,” we are now truly proud to present you with Portable’s latest full-length My Sentient Shadow. Filled to the brim with all of the
inventiveness the sonic auteur has commanded we expect from his sizable and consistent body of work on worldrenown labels such as Perlon, ~scape, !K7, and his own Süd Electronic and Khoikhoi imprints, and dare we say
offering us perhaps the most cohesive, emotive, and balanced of his highly-admirable catalog here to date. By using the analogy of a shadow that possesses its own consciousness, the theme of light and its distortion vs
balance with the inherent and necessary darkness that surrounds it is in clear vision.
Immediately from the warmly bizarre vibes of opening cut “The Simulacrum”, it’s clear Portable is requesting clearance to other worlds of funk and ingenuity. The delightfully trippy, smoky, back-room of the Tattooine Cantina
feel sets the stage just right to curb expectations and let the carefully constructed noise movements wash over us.
Elsewhere amongst the generous set we find tracks like “Cages” and “Ripple Effect” continue in the direction of horizontally-maximized aural tapestries oozing with texture, while at the other end of the energy spectrum pieces
such as “The Self-Assembling” and “We Exist..” roll and bounce with all the sci-fi gyrations and slick synth layers hinting at a hypnotic halfway rendezvous point to his Bodycode moniker. And of course, no proper Portable outing
would be complete without his own robust tenor vocal tone, which feels right at home front-and-center on the space travel anthem “The Spacetime Curvature” and used in more calculated micro-doses on “Analogue World”,
as well as the gorgeous “Foreign to You” whose meta-title features a rare guest starring vocalist NiQ.E, and brings to hearts some of Herbert’s finer moments with dear friend Dani Siciliano, albeit done-up entirely in some
distant yet alluring parallel dimension. The LP journey finishes with the frenetically-charged closer “Fractal Distortion” which will no doubt please many-a cosmic techno purist while making percussion masters from the
afterlife such as Jaki Liebezeit and Tony Allen proud, and is quite possibly the closest thing to a danceable musical take on the current state of cognitive dissonance in the world that surrounds us, offering us a one-way
ticket out from the not-too-distant future. Please join us in welcoming and celebrating this wonderful album from Portable on Circus Company.

Short Info:
We are elated to invite the multi-talented and multi-national musical mastermind Portable in to the Circus family finally. After many years of traveling in similar scenes and orbits, and thoroughly enjoying his vast output on some of our favorite and best friends’ labels, the time has come to join forces with our now-fellow Parisian dweller.
The My Event Horizon EP is a truly creative treat, chock full of the charm and studio ingenuity that permeates all of his work, and a first look at what’s to come on his full length LP we have in store for you in the coming months as well. Two versions of the lead track “I Feel Stronger Now” are accompanied by an exclusive club cut, just in time for the world’s hopeful dance floor reopenings.
“I Feel Stronger Now” is one of those perfectly balanced tracks that is equal parts soft and edgy, mellow and exciting, and features a rich mix of sharp percussion, warm jazz-inflected piano motifs and Portable’s own inimitable dulcet-toned vocals, making it a sure-shot fit with the label’s modus operandi. The A2 track “My Art Sets Me Free” as the title may suggest, is a more abstract and artistic take on full-scale DSP dance floor equipment - we can already imagine hearing this on some of our most cherished club systems, head-down, fully immersed. Next up “I Feel Stronger Now” gets a fresh facelift treatment from Portable’s own and equally-notorious alter ego Bodycode, which follows suit to the pseudonym’s production quality, giving the avant-garde bounce of the original version a more syncopated and stripped-back feel, imparting a stronger physical sound bed with tasteful synth layering for the vocal Iines to ride over. And as a digital bonus addition to the package we have the Radio Edit of “I Feel Stronger Now” which is nicely tightened in all the right places to drive the point home for broadcast listeners, and further proof that this man’s music can be fully enjoyed in many settings - a big loving welcome to Mr. Portable!

Short Info:
While the world continues to be in a bizarre mixture of feelings and circumstances, we can thankfully still hark back to last fall when the sophomore LP from the elusive and innovative KAMM band, Cookie Policies gave us an opportunity to reflect on the past while fully looking toward the future.
The album presented a beautifully unique blend of listening-oriented music styles, combining the early roots of the four producers and their pre-DJ formative musical travels. It is now our great pleasure to introduce an EP set of specifically dance floor-focussed remixes that take the diverse textural arrangements and expansive sonic bliss of the LP and stretch it around some solid percussive membranes, sure to excite many DJs and dancers out there in the wild as things begin to reopen.
KAMM band members Dave Aju, Alland Byallo, Kenneth Scott, each chose one original album track to rework with a more propulsive feel and from Aju's psychedelic West Coast breaks rendition of the noir-esque "CCBPGC", to Byallo's high vibe leveled-up flight of "Bird Call", or Scott's bold section-by-section recreation of the sprawling "The Soft Glow Of Electric Sex" laser-designed for heads-down late night club sessions, the boys came through to say the least. The real A1 treat of this reinterpretation package however comes from unanimous artist choice and label favorite I:Cube, whose majestic take on "Shleem" sees the veteran producer and master remixer move the bubbling ambient piece into bumping and rich space-age deep house territory, equal parts angelically uplifting and pure 5am club-belter/mind-melter.

It has been 10 years since Nicolas Jaar released his celebrated debut album, Space Is Only Noise here on Circus Company. With countless accolades, forays, and dips into other waters both preceding its arrival one decade ago and since with many musical ventures this LP still stands as not only a unique and verified-classic release in the artist's own expansive catalog as well as ours, but also amongst the general pantheon of electronic music of the 21st Century on the whole.
What better way to celebrate this milestone than with an immaculate must-have re-release package, with the music now spread out over double discs and cut at 45rpm on crystal clear vinyl to let the glacial top-end soar as originally intended, and the air of the general proceedings expand, once again, into the ears and consciousness of electronic music lovers the world over. Along with this technical upgrade recut, the distinct artwork has also received a facelift fit for the occasion, and will now be found adorning a full gatefold cover, inked lovingly in reverse on inside-out heavyweight paper including printed inner sleeves for a total collector's gem front-to-back.
While Nicolas Jaar's own recent online musings of the origin of the album title and lead track has us imagining playful plexiglass-letterings and a fresh sense of abstract calm before soon-to-be career storms, the music itself feels to have not aged a day past its prime of creation. From the unanimous crowdpleaser "Colomb" to "Keep Me There" indeed doing just that, with Jaar keeping us right where he left us last go-round, to the luminous titular track "Space Is Only Noise If You Can See" and omni-prophesy of "Specters Of The Future" - please join us in a warm welcoming return to this universally acclaimed classic LP, which garnered coveted spots in both RA's Album Of The Year and Pitchfork's Top 20 in 2011, now in its unmissable pristine new vinyl form, sounding as fresh as ever, a solid 10 years later.

What better way to celebrate this milestone than with an immaculate must-have re-release package, with the music now spread out over double discs and cut at 45rpm on 180g Black vinyl to let the glacial top-end soar as originally intended, and the air of the general proceedings expand, once again, into the ears and consciousness of electronic music lovers the world over. Short Info:
Following up on their debut LP Kick Drunk Love for Marcel Vogel’s Intimate Friends imprint a few years back, we are proud to present the next installment in the sporadic KAMM legacy: Cookie Policies.
Far more sonically rich and musically adventurous than its predecessor, Cookie Policies sees the band make bold strides into new territories where classically hardwired categories such as jazz, indie rock, and electronica melt into one another with immaculate, timeless ease.
The band members’ positions are more clear cut as well this round, with Marc David Barrite (aka Dave Aju, who also did one of his coveted mix engineering jobs on the LP) on prominent lead vocals in many of the pieces, Alland Byallo on trumpet, Kenneth Scott on synth bass, and Marc Smith adding guitar sections while the others shared the arranging and programming duties. This makes for a deeper continuation of the otherworldly combination of their known individual production styles, as well as a musical whole truly greater than the sum of its parts.
The set starts off with “Bird Call”, whose opening ode to Morricone ok corral-meets-samurai showdown riffs flow into a loose and drifting psychedelic boom bap blip, building until a glorious change-up of key and energy brings the track to its peak and deconstructed back down. “Rachel, the Largest Bullfrog” then takes things in a sweeter, slightly more traditionally-structured direction where dusty indie-folk ballad vibes intersect with an array of twisted cosmic tones, bits of computer keyboard percussion, and deep rolling sub bass. “Buckle Down” then moves things back away from acoustic restraints into a beautiful synth-laden musing on potential regret, with an ultra-potent horn section from Byallo vs a nasty stacked Roland SH-101 finish.
“CCBPGC” cools things off for a few minutes with an ambient field recording slice-and-dice motif, which slowly but surely evolves into a slinking jazz noir groove from another dimension. The more traditional song structures return on the lovely “La Luna”, where Barrite’s pen and soulful voice take to nautical longing themes over apropos waves of sonic textures. The ebb and flow of the verse/chorus sections eventually rise and give way to an absolutely gorgeous denouement. “Shleem” then takes us into pure unadulterated soaring sci-fi soundtrack ambient blast-off bliss, while the epic closing track “The Soft Glow of Electric Sex” gives a hearty nod to early masters of sprawling psychedelic jam sessions, from Pink Floyd and Can to In A Silent Way-era Miles and Liquid Liquid, while bringing it clearly into futurist millennia. The gradual evolution of the piece into its grand finale is the stuff we true music-lovers live and die for. We hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do.

Short Info:
Brigitte Barbu's Muzak pour ascenseurs en panne (Muzak for broken lifts) marked a bold new addition to the Circus Company repertoire. In a gilded haze of resonant tones conjured by traditional and non-traditional methods, Brigitte Barbu created an inviting sound world brimming with life and doffing its cap to 1970s signal processing. Out of such sonic research and development comes a wealth of material for other artists to sink their teeth into, and so we proudly present an accompanying remix EP that takes Brigitte Barbu's distinctive stamp into new territory.
Roman Flügel makes a first appearance Circus Company with two versions of "Dae-Boj DeMoya" that showcase this constantly versatile lynchpin of European techno. First up is his "kraut remix", which unsurprisingly channels the grainy beauty of Neu! and early Kraftwerk, before his "synth remix" dials back the drums and diverts our attention towards an expansive arrangement of melodious flourishes from classic synthesisers.
John Tejada and Reggie Watts reunite as Wajatta following their triumphant LP Don't Let Get You Down on Brainfeeder to deliver a particularly inventive, soul-stirring vocal techno version of "Couvre chef en peau de taupe". Watts soars over the signature warmth of Tejada's production, while Brigitte Barbu's mysterious tones linger in every fold of the mix.
Matthew Herbert offers up a "Butter Dub" version of the album interlude serie "Trou Vert" that pits his signature stark sampling methods against Brigitte Barbu's material and creates a fruitful dialogue of crooked 4/4 mechanics with all the playful curiosity of the original and a strong dose of Herbert's inimitable musical personality.

Short Info:
Uniting cosmic tones and lovely notes, unique sound collages and electronic noises, Muzak pour ascenseurs en panne ("Muzak for Broken Lifts"), Brigitte Barbu's first album, explores a dreamy universe, at the crossroads of electronica and the 70s’ post-tune-in/drop-out, echoing shadows of the peculiar doppelgänger; Pépé Bradock. Ça Plane pour Brigitte Barbu…
Resonant guitar notes, odd sounds, electronic hallucinations, and unexpected warm synth layers all gather together in Brigitte Barbu's first enigmatic album. Recorded and mixed during a reclusive one-week residency in a very special studio, under the benevolent cubic radiation of "Our Lady of the Ark of the Covenant,” using a computer, synthesizers, and various string instruments, giving birth to this resolutely unique album. The guitars were sharply disciplined, propelling strings into strange and hypnotic limbos, somewhere between a weightless journey through time and a fresh science lab experiment.
A perky cosmic album running away from rules and gravity.
"I wanted to compose an ethereal abstract Hip-Hop LP" says Brigitte, "with guitar as a brainwashed instrument, mirroring machines and computers, even if surely far from being unplugged". So much for that… With a real introspective dimension, the record stands out for its pure whimsical mood. The artist had strict rules for composing: “Each track is based on the association between a title chosen for its consonances, an open tuning, a random tempo and frequencies chosen for their supposed effects, real or imagined, on the mind, body & soul.” For example: Taro Patch -> Whale -> 93,75 BPM or Dobro -> Bear-> 118,125 BPM, Air Resistance -> Open Em -> Panther-> 480 BPM etc.
Brigitte surgically framed an electro-acoustic compendium, finding its atmospheric mothership… Brigitte Barbu, referring to a special interlude from a vintage release "Escalope de Dingue” (Fool’s Cutlet), explains that Muzak pour Ascenseurs en Panne is in fact a custom tribute to family, friends, triggered cosmonauts, René Clément and the card game where the winner is the bearded monarch nonchalantly stabbing himself in the head. It’s a lot!

CD Digipack - - The new 3rd Solo Album by Ezechiel Pailhes !
Genre: Alternative, French Song
Tracklist CD:
01. J'aimerais tant - 02. Bien certain - 03. Oh! Pourquoi te cacher? - 04. Constellation - 05. Sans l'oublier - 06. Wolf 359 - 07. La sincère - 08. Almost there - 09. Tu te rappelleras - 10. Cakewalk - 11. J'avais froid
On his third solo album, following the success of "Éternel été", the founder of the electro duo Nôze is exploring, through piano and synths, the encounter between poetry and song. In this new work he has set to music verses by William Shakespeare, Victor Hugo, Pablo Neruda and on three songs, those of the poet Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, a pioneer of romanticism who notably influenced Verlaine and Baudelaire.
But what does this Oh !, giving its title to Ezéchiel Pailhès' third solo album, stand for? Is it an Oh ! of surprise, admiration or pain? "It is rather the Oh ! found in romantic poetry" says the French composer and singer with his deep and sweet voice. "An interjection that refers to a form of lament", even though it can convey other emotions such as complaint, nostalgia, a sad delight or a longed-for solace.
In Tout va bien, his previous album released in 2017, Ezéchiel Pailhès had set two Shakespeare sonnets to music. One of them, "Eternal été" has become a great success, thanks to its lines tinged with spleen and bliss. "Poetry, and its musicality, have always been part of my universe. For this new album, I therefore wanted to explore further the adaptation of poems into songs. "Bien Certain" is, once again, taken from William Shakespeare. "Tu te rappelleras" comes from Pablo Neruda's collection La centaine d'amour. "Oh ! Pourquoi te cacher ?" is from Victor Hugo. As for "Sans l'oublier", "La sincère" and "J'avais froid", they were all written by Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, a 19th century French poetess, still fairly unknown".
With Oh !, Ezechiel Pailhès has become more of a singer than ever before, through seven songs and four instrumental compositions, with intimate and warm modulations, carried by hypnotic piano melodies, instruments with unusual timbre and a subtle electronic production that recalls his past productions with his former duo Nôze.
"I wanted to expand my music further into songs" Ezéchiel adds, "to work more with my voice as a solo instrument and to limit the overlapping of voices and choirs found in my previous records". Produced in his Montreuil home studio, Oh ! is nevertheless imbued with an emotion found in his previous albums, close to 'saudade' or a slight melancholy, sometimes enhanced by chosen texts that evoke the disappointment of love, the longing, the distance between two people, or even men's weakness. "These poems evoke themes that may seem far from the concerns of our times. Yet, they are timeless and eternal; they manage to convey emotions that can often be difficult to say or write."
Among the texts chosen for this new album, the verses of the poet Marceline Desbordes-Valmore (1786-1859) are on a par with William Shakespeare's sonnets or Pablo Neruda's poem found on the same record:
Although less known today than her male counterparts, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore marked her times and the Romantic movement through the quality of her texts and her formal inventions, which Balzac admired, and whose influence seems to have been decisive on Verlaine and Baudelaire.
"Marceline Desbordes-Valmore's poetry is highly musical," says Ezéchiel with admiration. "Her artistry with rhythm and repetition sounds very good and takes on a new dimension when set to music. She even meant for some of her texts to become songs"
From classical to pop music, the adaptation of poetry is part of a long tradition in France. "Great classical composers of the early 20th century such as Fauré, Poulenc or Duparc, who influenced me, had already tackled poets. On the album, songs like "La sincère" or "Tu te rappelleras" are probably closer to the way Serge Gainsbourg or Serge Reggiani approached poetry than Léo Ferré who is usually referred to in this regard".
Lastly, "Constellation", "Wolf 359", "Almost there" and "Cakewalk", the four instrumental tracks on the album on which a sung or whispered voice sometimes appears, explore an inspiration close to previous albums, mixing piano, prepared piano (various objects are placed between the strings to transform its timbre), synthesiser, clavietta (a kind of melodica), not to forget a few collages and digital processes.
Ballads with a cinematographic mood that respond in an abstract and dreamlike way to the texts of great poets...

"Without forgetting, we can run away from what we love.
Banish their name from our conversations,
And, begging the absence for consolation,
Escape the grip of this supreme master,
Without forgetting! "
(…)
"Without forgetting a sad and gentle voice,
Oh, how many days have I seen rise and fall!
And still I fear from the future:
A voice that can no longer be heard,
Without forgetting! "

Dave Aju - Love In Zero Gravity
2
Dave Aju - Aubergine Dream
3
Dave Aju - Gatadu
Tracklist:
A1 - Love In Zero Gravity
B1 - Aubergine Dream
B2 - Gatadu
Short info:
West Coast mainstay Dave Aju continues with his own varied style and pace, coming correct once again on Circus Company
with a truly special three-tracker of straight up dance floor bombs. This San Francisco DJ/producer is a master sampler, groove
innovator and jazz influenced artist who has been with this label for ten years. In that time, he has turned out plenty of timeless
LPs and EPs that have earned him a deserving reputation as a truly cultured craftsman.
Just in time for the warm summer months ahead, these pieces are fit for maximum daytime, nighttime, and after-hours pleasure
respectively. The releas kicks off with title track ‘Love In Zero Gravity’, one of those raw undefinable Dave Aju grooves, loaded
with soul and unique musicality. It builds in bass-heavy intensity, bright epic bursts and ecstatic waves like we've never heard
from him before. Next up the voodoo stylings continue on ‘Aubergine Dream’ but in a much deeper mode, where ultra-sweaty
basement funk collides with the darkest shades of purple imaginable, all laced-up with otherworldly lysergic lines. Finally,
‘Gatadu’ rounds things out with pure class, a bouncing robust house cut done-up with generous helpings of live percussion, rich
textures, and Aju's velvety vox - the perfect recipe to keep dancing long into Sunday's sun rays, all smiles and sing-a-long vibes
for the real heads and lovers. This is another superb offering from one of dance music’s most fascinating artists.

Metaboman - EchterG
Tracklist:
A1 Doppeldenk
A2 Hanno feat. Thomas Prestin
B1 Splitit
B2 EchterG
Short info:
This is a long overdue collaboration and we couldn't be more excited to present a brand new EP from our man, Jena's mad scientist funk freak himself, Metaboman. A stalwart veteran of the legendary Musik Krause camp, which has been a kindred spiritual sister label of sorts of ours since the millennium-turn heydays, being fellow purveyors of bold and raw dance floor music, still brimming with new ideas galore and bucket loads of soul.
Here with the Wireless Dancer EP we have Metaboman in top form offering nothing less than his finest work: "Doppeldenk" starts things off with some classic Krause bump that brings to mind the heights of the Duo at their peak but updated, like an STL banger turned up to 11 with sinewy melodic lines and that special Thuringen twist. "Hanno" follows up with a guest spot by jazz saxophone master Thomas Prestin, and guarantees to bring down the house with a storm of swinging stabs, rough riffs, and fresh-as-it-gets drum work. On the flip, "Splitit" does exactly that, whether referring to wigs, legs, or that last drink ticket - where dusty blues vox chops and a rolling percussive smack down will revive any fading floor faces. And finally, "EchterG" rounds it all out nicely with the illest of atonal trips and subsonic bass tones that the finer sound systems out there will fully indulge. Much love from Jena & Paris to the World!

dOP - A Night In Sausalito (Deetron remix)
Tracklist:
A1 A Night In Sausalito
A2 Ischia
B1 A Night In Sausalito (Deetron remix)
Short info:
dOP is welcomed back on Circus Company with a three track heater of an EP with ‘A Night in Sausalito’, and there is no way of
taming this one. This time, the trio get slapped on wax with a 12” that is pitted straight for the dancefloor. Deetron comes
through with some classy dub work on the remix.
Kicking things off with their headline track, ‘A Night in Sausalito’, the trio combine their signature and intricate synth work with a
mixture of lo-fi hums and percussive flares until JAW fills the mix and takes the track away.
Rolling on A2 with ‘Ischia’, the trio drop a straight up meaty drum pattern with a haunting range of vocal licks and delicate synth
grooves.
On the flipside, Deetron strips back the vocals and lays a solid housey dub that purs, intensifies and releases in all the right
places.

Tracklist:
A1 The Mole - Little Sunshine A2 The Mole - Discotheque Airplane B1 The Mole & Tom Trago - Down the Hallway (Aardvarck Remix) B2 The Mole & Tom Trago - Down The Hallway (Original mix)
Short info:
Circus Company and The Mole have long been making eyes at each other across the same crowded dancefloor. Colin de la Plante?s primary project is synonymous with the off-kilter corner of house music we like to spend our time dancing in, and the labels he releases on are close cousins of the Circus troupe. From Wagon Repair to Philpot, Musique Risquee to Perlon, it?s a wonder that we haven?t worked together previously, but finally that?s been put right with Little Sunshine.Stripped back, understated disco grooves have always been the bread and butter of The Mole?s sound, while infectious, cyclical melodic patterns are equally important in making his unique version of house music. On the title track, those elements are presented with full force, but in between the driving rhythms linger the most gorgeous keys, bringing a mellow introspection to the track as a neat counterpoint to the energy of the drums and arpeggios. Compared to the clean lines and peppy tempo of ?Little Sunshine?, ?Discotheque Airplane? is an audacious swerve into low and slow territory, where dusty samples rule the day and the bass swells in and out of earshot with a truly mesmerizing effect. It?s a moody affair loaded with tension, mystery and funk in abundance. As if that wasn?t enough proof of the variety in The Mole?s repertoire, on his collaboration with Dutch hero Tom Trago for ?Down The Hallway? we find the pair exploring lean, focused techno, where the simplest of rhythms propel a haunting, distant vocal lick. It?s the drum sounds that make this a special cut, championing warm, natural percussion instead of the methodical drum machine hits found in most contemporary techno.
Rounding the EP off in a beautifully mysterious style is Aardvarck, whose remix of ?Down The Hallway? takes the subtle foundations of the original and builds delicate, lilting melodies on top. With creative distortion and masterful layering of the many synth parts, it?s a captivating, emotionally-loaded slice of inward-looking music that adds to the intriguing, alternative vision of dance music proposed on every track of this 12?.

Tracklist:
A1 Sincerely (Okumu rework)
A2 Gone Are Those Days (Sturm & Drang Remix)
B1 Dragons (Party Nails Remix)
B2 Gone are Those Days (Dave Aju Remix)
Short info:
Following Dani Siciliano’s welcome return to the spotlight with her self-titled LP, Circus Company is proud to present a collection of remixes from artists close to the label and Dani herself, framing her intimate songs in a new, dancefloor-ready context.
David Okumu is best known as the frontman for The Invisible, but when he’s not leading the band he can be found lending his vocal, instrumental and production talents to a host of projects. Here he lends a deft touch to the album’s closer “Sincerely”, with a sound that combines modern electronica production with emotive synth lines and a light touch of ‘80s funk.
Sturm & Drang is a new studio venture from dOP’s own Damien Vandesande and Fabien Leseure, specially formed for this remix of “Gone Are Those Days”. Working around a tight house groove, the duo lay down warm analogue synth tones underneath Dani’s vocals and build up a sizzling club track that maintains the spirit of the original.
British outfit Party Nails, affiliated to The 2 Bears and God Colony amongst other projects, take to “Dragons” with a sense of urgency that turns the track into a taut, peak time workout loaded with tension. Dani’s impassioned delivery sits atop the insistent drums and weighty bass as a foil to the hard edges of the production, making for an emotive result that harkens back to house classics.
Circus Company’s prolific soul maverick Dave Aju steps up to round the record out with a typically flamboyant version of “Gone Are Those Days” that reflects his own exploration of tougher machine-powered rhythms of late. There’s a primal techno spirit in the component parts of his version as it unfurls, with the organic lilt of Dani’s singing playing counterpoint in the midst of the
maelstrom. Being a Dave Aju production, it packs just as much unconventional flair into the mix as it does party functionality.

Beautiful piano melodies, ballads drawing their inspiration from jazz, classical music and cinematic
imagery, hummed choruses, a mood at the crossroad of nostalgia and reverie, instruments with
uncanny timbre and charm, chiseled percussions, added to a subtle electronic production, this is the
recipe for Tout Va Bien, the second solo album by French composer Ezechiel Pailhès.
All this is reflected in the opening track, River Day, which begins with “prepared piano” sounds (a
technique mastered by Ezechiel, which consists in placing different objects on the strings of the piano,
to create singular percussive notes). This deliberately mysterious and poetic introduction, supported
by light electronic effects, is soon combined with a light beat, organ chords and vocalisations by the
artist, which gradually transform the track into a ritornello, with both nostalgic and lighthearted tones.
As the artist states it: “We could describe this type of emotion as a kind of endearing nostalgia, close
to saudade,” i.e. the Portuguese term expressing the idea of a light melancholy stripped of its sickly
aspect, or a “haunted craving” as the singer and composer Pierre Barouh nicely put it. “This feeling
comes naturally to me when I write. Generally, in my music, I seek a form of soothing, of eternity even,
(without meaning to sound pretentious). This is something I encounter in classical music, which is
what I listen to most.”
Even if he defines himself as a “jolly fellow” (which is confirmed by the music and reputation of his
electro-pop duo Nôze), when chatting to him, he comes across as quite gentle and stellar, just like this
collection of eleven tracks that he composed “in autarky”, entirely alone, in his Montreuil home studio.
Following the footpath of Divine, his first solo release from 2013, this album is however more intimate,
marking Pailhès' taste for finely crafted moods and drifts. Songs like Tout Va Bien, but also Éternel Été
and Promesse, whose lines have been borrowed from Shakespeare's sonnets, seem to shift between
carelessness, bliss, bitterness and anxiety.
“Why didst thou promise such a beauteous day
And make me travel forth without my cloak,
To let base clouds o'ertake me in my way,
Hiding they bravery in their rotten smoke?”
(Taken from William Shakespeare's Sonnets that inspired Promesse)
As for titles such as Octobre, Boyd London or Le Fou Du Phare, they illustrate Ezechiel’s gift for
composing instrumental ballads, with equally versatile emotions though drawing from cinema,
supported by whispered or sung vocalisations. Ezechiel explains: “No word can quite describe this
type of singing, it's a kind of ritornello, these are songs without lyrics, which is all down to the fact that I
always think of my melodies as songs. The absence of words is not a form of laziness. My songs
simply say enough for people to imagine their own story. It is more about suggesting or evoking a
feeling, an emotion. "
Even though he composed on the piano, in this album Ezechiel plays and toys with numerous other
instruments, such as the Clavietta (a type of Melodica), a Moog Little Phatty synth, an analog Korg
Lambda organ, rare virtual instruments, and a whole array of exotic percussions, gleaned along his
tours. He insists, however, on the sculptural dimension of his compositional work. For him, it is about
“revealing or masking the sound of the original melody” through various processes, including
percussive ones, whether using a prepared piano (which he even calls "transformist”) or several digital
cuts and superimpositions enabling him to generate what he calls “sound illusions”, through unusual
associations between the timbres of various instruments.
Even if parallels can be drawn with the work of other composers, such as Moondog's piano melodies,
Matthew Herbert's sonorous and rhythmic tinkering and techno 'fringe', or even the graceful fantasy of
Nino Rota, the music of Ezechiel definitely sounds like no other. His songs conveying delicate
emotions, his obvious melodic mastery, draw from classical influences. His instrumental ease acquired
from jazz, his conciseness and sounds processing skills derived from electro, this all makes him one of
the most singular and endearing personalities in today's musical scene.

dave aju - Tell her why
Tracklist:
A1: Low Dive A2: Always Never B1: Sides B2: Tell Her Why
Short info:
The maverick maestro from the Bay Dave Aju is back with his Circus family here with an incredible
new release. Based on stripped-down hardware sessions rocking just a Roland TR-909 and SH-101,
Aju once again proves that no sound set need be limited in itself and along with the addition of one
microphone for his inimitable soulful voice, creates one of his strongest and most imaginative releases
to date, the 10101 EP.
A multiple homage to the 101 freeway that spans his native Golden State and the numeric classic
analog boxes used vs digital binary to process them, the four rich tracks offer the best of both worlds
and cover all the bases of Mr Aju's musical multiverse. "Low Dive" starts things on a deep heads-down
dance floor tip where rising synth lines soar over a blast of shuffling drums and percussion for a rocksolid
DJs delight. "Always Never" comes next with pure Aju magic, equal parts song and track, an ear
worm of a chorus, and full of sunny West Coast electro influences all the way through. On the flip
"Sides" may very well be one of Aju's most intense transmissions ever, with a sublime and seemingly
endless build-up of dark pads, driving, shifting rhythms, and voodoo vocals that will detonate many a
peak-hour sound system guaranteed. Aju then tastefully finishes with the cool psychedelic mid-tempo
bump of "Tell Her Why" which harks back to his hip-hop roots and wraps up the vibe and elements of
the whole EP perfectly. Welcome back with a bang brother Aju!

todd sines - Recover
Tracklist:
A1 - Charles Webster & Robert Owens - Blown Away (Todd Sines Mix)
A2 - Todd Sines - Deserted
B1 - Todd Sines - Cave
B2 - Todd Sines - Recover
Short info:
A legend to those who know, Todd Sines makes his first appearance on Circus Company in a fit of sharp-edged,
wildly expressive house music that harks back to the unhinged early days of the label. Sines has a career that
stretches back to the early 90s, having released lauded records under the .xtrak moniker on Peacefrog and 7th
City amongst other legendary labels. Under his own name he has delivered equally timeless material on Planet E,
Frankie and Morris Audio, but still this summary barely scratches the surface of an artist with a groove so
distinctive it would futile to attempt an imitation.
A key facet of Sines’ material is his ability to match a vivid, futuristic sound palette with a very human soul, and
this is no more apparent than on Blowing. The title track alone throws down a challenge to any selector as a
bugging line in off-kilter drums and tweaked out synth lines rub up against an utterly soulful vocal turn from Robert
Owens in a true definition of 21st century funk. Originally written by Charles Webster, Sines has taken the
foundations of the track and twisted it into a shape all of his own.
Elsewhere the mood takes a deeper turn, as “Deserted”, “Cave” and “Recover” all plunge into a vision of deep
house that retains the emotion while pushing the rhythms into exciting, psychedelic new territory. Even if the
tracks go very far out indeed, there’s always a tangible beat to hold on to, testing the nerve of the play-it-safe DJ
while giving musical explorers music as accessible as it is challenging.
While there may be shards of experimentation flying out of these tracks at every angle, the warmth in between the
unusual shapes makes Sines’ music so very easy on the airs in the same breath. It’s in such juxtapositions that
the most exciting music can be found, satisfying the heart and surprising the head in equal measure.

A: Email From A Beetle B: Melancholia B1: Summer Rain B2 : Foreplay
Short info:
It’s a long time since we last heard from dOP. The boys have been far from quiet, continuing to tour
and enchant party people across the world with their infectious fusion of house music and refined
songwriting. They’ve equally been no strangers to the studio, with their Les Fils Du Calvaire project
releasing the recent Rester Avec Toi collaboration with Miss Kittin in preparation for the debut album
of the project later this year. Equally their production talents have been felt in the recent Aquarius
Heaven EP Bato Chargé, and vocalist JAW was recently spotted kicking off the Circus Company
Limited series with “Traitor Creator”, his collaboration with Piers Faccini. Finally though the time has
come for dOP to return to the record in their original form with a new four track EP that perfectly
captures where the trio of Damien, Clement and JAW are at right now.
The sound on Email From A Beetle is a full-fat, club ready confection that distills the live energy of
dOP into four varied but equally ear-snagging tracks that simply demand your attention. The title track
in some ways harks back to the introspection of their earlier material, keeping the rhythmic elements
sparse and simmering to lend ample space to JAW’s captivating vocal line, but there’s still plenty of
space for Damien’s expressive keys to cut through as the song peaks.

Short info:
Dani Siciliano’s latest album is self-titled for a reason; it represents a personal statement crafted by
Dani’s own hand - feeding off her accomplished past in experimental pop and electronica and
reaching to new tones and timbres in a celebration of musical liberation.
Culminating eight years of songwriting, production research and sonic exploration, Circus Company is
proud to present Dani Siciliano’s third solo album. Following her two previous solo LPs Likes…(2004)
and Slappers(2007), Dani decided to focus on crafting as much of the album by herself as possible,
working with just a few select musicians to round out her creative vision. As ever her captivating voice
remains centre stage, and you can hear echoes of her earlier work with the likes of Herbert, The Soft
Pink Truth, and Brooks tucked away amongst the folds of diverse instrumentation, but this is a record
that sounds very much like its own beast.
It’s an album of love and unabashed soul that reaches enthusiastically to all the sounds that hold the
greatest appeal to Dani. What strikes most about her latest creation is the way the production
instinctively frames the narrative of her lyrics, neatly demonstrating the unfettered vision she has been
able to realise on this project.
New Release Information
It’s the balance of the unusual and the immediate that make this such perfect pop music and sits
neatly amongst Circus Company’s brooding musicianship of Nôze’s recent Come With Us LP (on
which Dani features), Nicolas Jaar and the ever-blurring lines between the avant-garde history of the
label and its broad contemporary outlook.
Track Notes:
If there is a track that captures the multi-faceted sound palette of the record it is surely Blink, which
fuses illustrious blasts of brass with fluttering electronics and a purposeful drum beat as a perfect
statement of intent.
In some places there is a grounded, earthy quality to the composition, as on the sultry guitar-laced
funk of So Amazing or the arpeggiated, folk-inspired reflection of Together.
Elsewhere the production positively leaps with its playful deployment of electronic elements, from the
effervescent swing and strings combo in I’m The Question to the snaking synth flourishes and bass
swells of Take 2.
The razor-sharp arrangement of Why with its sparse piano ostinato and layered vocal lines, tease out
an infectious, original end result.

Tracklist:
A: I'm The Question
B1: I'm The Question (Ben Vedren remix)
B2 : I'm The Question (Ben Vedren ‘acapella’ remix)
Short info:
After eight years immersed in songwriting and production, Dani Siciliano is ready to return with her
third solo LP "DANI SICILIANO". Ahead of the LP's release on Circus Company, the lead single shines
a light on one of the album’s undoubted highlights and offers it up for some intriguing dancefloor
variations that nod to her house music roots.
“I’m The Question” revels in the playful and unconventional approach to pop that has always guided
Dani’s music, and so gives a perfect teaser of what the full album has in store. Her voice soars in a
multi-layered swirl of crafty production while the arrangement crackles with an energy that reflects the
rousing message of the lyrics. It’s an urgent intonation of positivity that should motivate anyone to get
up and move, but it communicates this idea in a most delightfully unusual of ways.
Rising Parisian house head Ben Vedren offers up a remix of the lead track, building on his refined
releases for Minibar and Concrete Music amongst others. He brings a noticeably tough undercurrent to
his version, using a driving bass-weighted drum set to carry artful slices of Dani’s vocals through a
club-ready confection with carefully placed brushstrokes of warmth and melody.
Ben Vedren also turns his hand to the Acapella Remix, stripping the production of the original track
right back and replacing it with a simple rhythmic guidance to leave ample space for the vocals to
stand on their own. With nothing but a steady grooving kick and snare loop in the way, it’s a track
crying out for the kind of creative mixing that music as unique as Dani’s is perfectly suited to.

Tracklist:
A - Bato Chargé B1 - 50 Drops B2 - Marie Galante
Short info:
Reaching the milestone of its 100th single/EP release, Circus Company welcomes back Aquarius Heaven with a new EP of poignant, uplifting house music loaded with a meaningful message for these transient times. It’s nearly three years since Brian Brewster delivered the Parallela Mundi 12”, and in that time he has been on a relentless mission to spread his unique blend of house music, Caribbean roots and psychedelic magic across the globe in a whirlwind of live performances and collaborations. In a manifestation of his well-travelled soul, these new pieces call upon traditional influences in amongst the modern motifs that Aquarius Heaven has been built on, while lyrically dealing with the pressing issue of refugees escaping conflict, poverty and famine. The proud drum throwdown and carnival bleeps of “Bato Chargé” conceal the seriousness of its theme. In Brewster’s native tongue Creole, bato chargé translates as overloaded boat. With the Caribbean as equally rooted in the history of displaced humanity at the hands of sinister powers, the groove of “Bato Chargé” takes on a defiant, hopeful tone directly inspired by the traditional percussive music style Gow Ka. “50 Drops” by way of contrast takes on a noirish tone with its gritty, street-weary tale and nocturnal melodics played out through enchanting arpeggios and warbling leads. Cooling off the tempo and heading into a digi-dub skank that plays off Brewster’s roots in reggae and dancehall, “Marie Galante” takes those same warm synths and runs them through a low-but-heavy stepping landscape; the perfect backdrop to the vocalist’s dexterous ramblings on the mic. It’s not often you hear Creole New Release Information delivered in contemporary electronic music, with a rare exception being the legendary work of Tikiman et al with Rhythm & Sound in the 90s.
As with the previous releases we have presented from Aquarius Heaven, in every deft lyric and musical flourish Bato Chargé demonstrates just how much range this ever-evolving artist has in his globetrotting soul.

3
freaks - funk you (who do you trust dub)
Tracklist:
A1 – Shrunken Heads (One Pro Mix)
B1 – Absolut Zero
B2 – Funk You (Who Do You Trust Dub)
Short info:
To anyone with even a passing interest in the weirder end of good-time party-ready house music, Freaks should need little introduction. Luke Solomon and Justin Harris have been keeping our preferred kind of dancefloor vibrating to the cheekiest manifestations of house music since the mid-
90s, never letting up and moving in the same oscillations as the good ship Circus Company. From first emerging on Phono through to setting up their Music For Freaks label, stopping by Playhouse, Wash House and Rebirth amongst countless other labels along the way, the UK duo have
constantly given the traditions of house music a tickle in the ribs without losing that fundamental funk that makes a record great to dance to. We were thrilled to welcome Luke and Justin to remix Dave Aju’s “Nu Threads” at the end of last year, and now we follow up on that connection with a special EP
of gems from the extensive Freaks archives. On “Shrunken Heads (One Pro Mix)” the rock solid foundations of filter house music collide with
flamboyant synth noodlings for a truly cosmic end result, while “Absolut Zero” finds solace in a slower, deeper groove peppered with oddball effects tweaking and disembodied vocal samples. Heading further into loose-fit, slippery territory, “Funk You (Who Do You Trust Dub)” lets soulful sample licks
wriggle and writhe through a decidedly laid-back atmosphere that shows off the range Freaks have always sported in their output since day one. In many ways this coming together of Circus Company and Freaks feels like a logical development for two bastions of the oddball house music community, not to mention a great opportunity to hear tracks that otherwise might never have seen the light of day.

flabbergast - lunatic lines
Tracklist:
A1 – Frozen Beans A2 – Gros Sabots
B1 – Wash Karma B2 – Lunatic Lines
Short info:
Following the playful tones of Feathered Sun and Carlos Nilmmns, Circus Company continues its run of distinctive singles with a four-track release from new production entity Flabbergast. While the name might not be familiar, the imagination-soaked minds behind the music are synonymous with the history
of Circus Company. Guillaume Coutu-Dumont is of course one of our most treasured sons, a Montreal-man turned Berlinboy with no less than two albums and seven EPs scattered amongst our back catalogue, let alone his achievements elsewhere. He first came to light on the Mutek and Musique Risquee labels, both of which have had the guiding hand of Vincent Lemieux at the controls, and now the two long-time friends have joined forces in the studio to conjure up some heavy grooving voodoo that feeds directly from their respective experiences in the freakier ends of the house and techno spectrum. On all four tracks, there is a concurrent theme that binds together this new sound world of Flabbergast. The production hits raw and direct, with dead-eye rhythms providing a functional structure around which surreal sonic decoration can frolic. “Frozen Beans” has a twitchy lead and all manner of displaced vocal snippets drifting around the sparse mix, but there is still space for the warmth of a Rhodes to sneak in before things get too unnerving. “Gros Sabots” meanwhile has fun with some roughly hewn drum breaks, before “Wash Karma” gets into a spooked-out, exotic incantation of minimal techno with an emphasis on cheeky funk of the highest order. With its delicate elements, flairs of percussion and deadly bassline, this is the kind of track to sneak up on the unsuspecting and shake
their hips with inappropriate intent before they know what’s hit them. New Release Information In many ways EP closer “Lunatic Lines” captures the essence of this new project from Coutu-Dumont and Lemieux, sporting a jammed-out, warts-n-all finish that fizzes with impulsive ideas and an innate
understanding of what makes a track as fun as it is rocking. For the first strains of a project coming to life, this is a record that brims with confidence, giving off exactly the kind of deviant dancefloor flavour Circus Company founded itself on.

Tracklist:
A1 – Saubohnen
B1 – Hmm Hm Hmm
B2 – Help
Short info:
Capturing the spirit of the season, when the electronic music community leaves its darkened rooms and heads back to nature, Feathered Sun are here with the perfect accompaniment. The six-strong collective have appeared once before when they delivered the first release on Platon Records, and
now they return with another three tracks that live and breathe with an organic band dynamic that can only be wrought by many hands working in unison.
The loose-fit Berlin-based crew is comprised of NU, jO.K.e, Raz Ohara, Chris Schwarzwaelder, Iannis Ritter and Acid Pauli, and individually you may have experienced their music in many other places. As well as being peers in the music scene they are all real life friends, and Feathered Sun is the
manifestation of their lives spent together jamming wherever the mood is right, not confined to rigid studio sessions and release deadlines.
This natural, easy-going atmosphere lingers all over the three tracks on the Saubohnen EP, as playful vocal intonations meet with live instrumentation over laid back grooves made without a need for hype or drama. It feels like the soundtrack to a perfect idle summers day spent amongst friends, while still
maintaining a necessary bite to keep toes tapping and the vibe lively. Legend would have it that the Feathered Sun sound is just as likely to have been crafted in a retreat in Peru as surrounded by the wives and kids, let alone in more conventional musical environments. It is that down-to-earth spirit that makes their sound so instantly familiar and easy to get along with, reflecting real life and love outside the self-less mass identity of the dancefloor.

Short info:
After Carlos Nilmmns enthralled us with his expressive True Chemistry EP, Circus Company is delighted to welcome a new character into the fold in the form of fast-rising German artist Borrowed Identity. Based in the Southern town of Freiburg im Breisgau, in just a few years he has already released scores of singles for labels as respected as Quintessentials, Fina, Home Taping Is Killing Music and Mistress. The Borrowed Identity sound is direct and uncomplicated, using classic house and techno styles and applying them to dynamic arrangements that showcase a confident set of studio skills and a deep understanding of what excites the expectant dancer. Across the four tracks on the XXX EP, the perfect balance is struck between powerful rhythmic commands and psychoactive decoration, combining everything needed for a memorable club cut. “Adictive” leaps out at the listener thanks to the sweeping piano hook and subby bassline, while “Trans Trans Trans” brings a purposefully old-school feeling with its stark square wave synth lines and sleazy vocal groans. Regular Borrowed Identity collaborator Mechanical Soul Brother lends a hand to “The Scene”, which piles on the late night tension with its tightly wound chord stabs and rolling drums, before “Life” showcases a more eclectic side to our latest signing thanks to a bongo-infused percussive throwdown and an uplifting dose of acid.
Every one of these tracks brims with infectious energy, channeling the traditions of peak-time house and techno into a thoroughly modern approach that celebrates the instant gratification of a kick-ass dancefloor weapon, without compromising on that all-important soul.

EAN/ UPC: 827170553262
Tracklist:
A1 - When In Glasgow B1 - Pride B2 - Universal Beauty (feat. Keter Darker)
Short info:
Demonstrating the diversity we have thrived on since we started out, Circus Company moves merrily from the intimate songwriting tones of Noze's Come With Us LP to the expansive dancefloor scope of Carlos Nilmmns. The Scottish-born, Paris-based artist arrives at our label with a strong reputation behind him, proudly championing the influence of Detroit and Chicago while delivering his own harmonious approach to electronic soul music. Both as one half of Solab and on his own, Carlos has delivered his music through such esteemed imprints as 4 Lux, Skylax, Seventh Sign and Ornaments while at the same time collaborating with artists such as Niko Marks and many more besides. On True Chemistry Carlos demonstrates just how diverse he can be as an artist, dealing in tough peak time energy and serene bliss without missing a beat. Throughout the EP the key ingredient is imagination, as swooning melodies collide with rock-solid percussion in completely fresh arrangements that feel classic even as they simultaneously sound like nothing else out there. The unhinged synth tones on "Pride" seem to be beamed from somewhere far from Earth, while the head-spinning "When In Glasgow" provides comfort in its looped-up dancefloor focus while it rolls out in an alien configuration. Featuring Keter Darker on vocal duties, "Universal Beauty" finishes the EP off in beautiful style with a sumptuous, emotional take on deep house that avoids obvious tricks and focuses on serious compositional skill to tell an arresting story. This is a record that delivers on every level for us, both surprising and enjoyable, heartfelt and funky but most importantly original.

infos:
Four years since they released Dring, Nôze are making a very welcome return to Circus Company with their fifth album Come With Us, and once again the pairing of Nicolas Sfintescu and Ezechiel Pailhes has yielded a collection of captivating and curious songs that could only come from the unique sound world they inhabit. As has been evident throughout their career from their early experimental house days through to the more recent song-based material for Get Physical, the Parisian duo have always moved on from album to album, maturing their sound to deliver a new experience for themselves and their listeners every time. On this occasion, Come With Us finds Nicolas and Ezechiel in a particularly introspective mood. Even as their work has naturally turned more to home-listening craft over the years, here they revel even more in personal reflection both musically and lyrically. Tracks such as "Saint" conjure up the romanticism of dustbowl blues with its vagabond guitar tones (played by long time collaborator Thibault Frisoni), while Nicolas's voice reaches new distinctive heights in spellbinding tales like "Apache". Emiliano Turi also lends a new sense of natural groove to the Nôze sound with his live drumming, and as ever, Nicolas and Ezechiel are keen to bring their friends into the fold for guest vocal spots. Dani Siciliano spars beautifully with Nicolas on the disco-inflected album opener "I Need To Know". dOP vocalist JAW, fresh from his Midtown project, joins in for the bittersweet balladry of "Come With Me". Although they may be committed to exploring more intimate forms of musicianship, Nôze are not a duo who have forgotten their dancefloor roots, and in recognition of this the CD version of Come With Us comes with a bonus disc of remixes by the duo themselves, offering up electrified alternative versions of every track on the album. As a body of work in its own right, these are less remixes and more original productions rich with the warmth of synthesised tones and powered by mechanised drums. The 70s feel of the original album transfers to the remixes, the comforting hum of arpeggios and Moog growls finished off with a snappy modernity that brings the music into the here and now. As well as the CD version, the remixes will be available as a digital bonus when pre-ordering Come With Us on iTunes. On every level, Nôze have delivered an album that will satisfy their ardent fans of many years while demonstrating their expanding repertoire as they grow as artists. From the beginning it was clear they would never rest in one place, and now Come With Us is the perfect invitation to carry on down the path with two of Circus Company's original ambassadors.

noze - holding you, noze remix
UPC/EAN: 827170553163
Tracklist: A1 – Holding You A2 – Holding You (Nôze Remix)
Short info:
Nôze have never been ones to rest on their laurels, and since they first came to fruition Nicolas Sfintescu and Ezechiel Pailhes have travelled far and wide with their well-fermented tales of romance and surrealism. Over the ten years they have been active, their sound has blossomed from the twitchy minimalisms of their debut album Craft Sounds And Voices through to the red-blooded, multi-instrumental passion of Songs On The Rocks and
onwards. Ahead of their fifth LP Come With Us being released on Circus Company in April 2015, Nôze are announcing their return with this single that hints towards the direction they have taken on the latest chapter in their meandering story. A melancholy seduction lingers over “Holding You”, steeped in the warmth of synth pop with its flamboyant tones while maintaining the tightly wound funk Noze have made their own. Meanwhile Nico is stepping even further into his role as the duo’s resident crooner with his strained call for ‘physical love’ in a smooth symbiosis with the sultry atmosphere of the production.
The B-side features an alternative version of “Holding You” that brings Nôze’s dancefloor roots to the fore and dubs the track out into a taut, Detroit-infused workout, while remaining true to the allure of the original. It’s a move that will be repeated for the album release of Come With Us, as Nico and Eze offer up a bonus disc of alternative club versions of all the new tracks. Holding You is a tantalising taste of the welcome return of Nôze to these shores, with the album promising to show yet another dimension to these restless mavericks, whose history is so intrinsically linked with that of Circus
Company.

Short info:
The rugged, noirish soul of Dave Aju's third album Black Frames is still lingering in our minds months after it dropped, and as you well know by now we at Circus Company can never get enough of the San Francisco man's honey-coated voice. As such, we once again reached out to dear friends and like-minded souls within the house and techno community to deliver three reinterpretations of the man's distinctive sound for a fresh dancefloor perspective. Henrik Schwarz is a force to be reckoned with in the world of rich, emotive and masterfully produced house music, and his reputation as a remixer and editor extraordinaire is well founded. His approach to the romantic sway of "Psylica" is nothing short of astounding, underpinning the sizzling chemistry of Dave and Qzen's vocals with playful bassline throb, plucked string elegance and just the right amount of freakiness. In the world of leftfield grooves we inhabit, Freaks have been vital figures all the way back to the early days of Classic, and so the input of Justin Harris and Luke Solomon makes perfect sense on this reworking of "Nu Threads". With a rock-solid rhythm section given the necessary kink by a playful low-end and some tuba-like blasts, the mischievous pair whip up an upbeat party-starter that sets the original elements simmering amongst a delightfully modern confection of prime-time house music. The B-side is given over to a thirteen-minute epic by the rapidly-rising Rush Hour mainstay Awanto3, and he seizes the opportunity to pile on the tension with a machine-driven reworking of "Vins Noirs" that builds fervently towards total rave-fuelled abandon. The rhythmic pressure may stay high throughout, but there's plenty of dusty soul rubbed into the joints to keep things warm before a thrilling crescendo of old-skool stabs blasts the track into the stratosphere.
Each and every one of these remixes is a dancefloor killer, but in between the pumped-up energy of them bubbles the imagination and inventiveness that Circus Company lives for. It's no less than the music of Dave Aju deserves, and it's just the kind of originality the dancefloor needs.

infos:
A unique project gathering nineteen tracks from eighteen prolific producers including
Claude VonStroke, Brodinski, Cassius and Art Department centred around one inimitable singer; JAW. 'Midtown' is the ambitious sound of an artist reflecting on his vision of the world, through collaborations with friends from every corner of the planet. You may know JAW by name, but most will know him by voice. As the frontman of French house wildcards dOP and their indiepop sideproject, Les Fils du Calvaire, JAW has blossomed into one of the most distinctive performers in a scene where few dare to cross the barrier of the DJ booth. From bedroom setups to street recordings to highend studios, spanning melancholic folk, electro pop and apocalyptic R&B, 'Midtown' is the culmination of years JAW has spent connecting with likeminded artists, challenging himself to use his unmistakable voice in different ways. Placing the emphasis on having fun, whether the music be dark and obtuse, or upbeat and flamboyant, the result is nineteen different recording spaces with nineteen different textures, ensuring that no two moments on
'Midtown' feel the same.
o As the vocalist for madcap house wayfarers dOP, Jonathan Illel has seduced the hearts and minds of dancefloor dwellers, holding them captive with his voice as he douses them in vodka. He has also guested on notorious tracks such as Claude VonStroke 'Le Fanto?me' and on his relentless mission to share his voice, he seizes any chance he can to get into a session with anyone who shares his passion.
o+ This insatiable appetite led to him working with a host of different producers on 'Midtown' including The/Das, Claude VonStroke, Piers Faccini, Kevork Keshishian, Cassius, Claptone, Seuil, Para One, Mim Youthman & Marger, Chaim, Steve Smyth, Art Department, Saschienne, Rose Ryot, Brodinski and more.
o+o From selling popcorn at Euro Disney to manning a sex shop, grafting in a kitchen to fronting a hotel reception, JAW has served his time in unforgiving jobs and unsociable hours. So when a fearsome touring schedule first emerged in 2007, JAW relished the opportunity to hone his skills and pushed naturally to work hard.
o+o+ With 'Midtown' he intends to make the perfect introductory statement, identifying himself in every shade of music and to give listeners the full picture. Forcing producers to go outside their comfort zone to meet his musical vision, whilst adopting a unique singing style for each track, JAW has sought to craft the ultimate collection of music to represent who he is. The digital version collate five extra track collaborations.
o+o+o It's an open move, laying his soul bare before he moves on to explore more mysterious ways of making music, but JAW is on a constant mission to take in human contact. His website, an online collection of his photographs from around the world, is addressed with a phone number, positively inviting the world to call up for a chat. www.0033669988858.com
o+o+o+ It's this affinity for making connections that makes JAW such a good storyteller, fuelling his imagination and leading him astray, and like the pied piper when he starts singing we can't help but follow.

infos:
'Black Frames' is a creation from two major life transitions for Dave Aju, namely the end of a long-term relationship combined with a move away from his home town of San Francisco. Punctuated with philosophical statements and political punches, the former MC proves he isn't afraid to use his voice and production skills to unite music and passion with his latest album on Circus Company. The outer rhythms of deep-rooted electronic music form the backbone of 'Black Frames', while its veins are filled with the red-hot attitude hiphop, outerspace soul, and forthright lyrical content. A remarkable variety of songs covering topics such as personal relationships ('Psylica'), cultural issues ('Race on Haight') and global government actions ('Law') rock alongside bass-centered dancefloor bombs like 'Nu Threads' and 'Clean St'. Through its body, Aju also tips his hat to 60s psych rock, early 70s fusion, and the soft undertones of blues as can be felt in the Magnum Opus of 'Vins Noirs' with it's full choir finale, the wildly fun and uptempo 'Bee's Birth' and the reflective close of 'When We Drift'. With a decade of releases under his belt and remixes for the likes of Nicolas Jaar, JT Donaldson and Herbert, San Francisco Bay Area native Marc Barrite AKA Dave Aju is a true maverick of the electronic music scene and 'Black Frames' is a proper follow-up, both a literal nod to the classic 60s/70s artwork that hung in his home studio, and a bold statement toward that rare place where breaking a sweat and breaking the rules come together. Aju's distinctive voice, a fixture in his production and live performances, has proven to have a life of its own. His formative years added stripes to his coat as an MC in the underground hip-hop scene, paying off in consequent vocal contributions for fellow artists like dOP and Tiefschwarz and an ongoing collaboration with fellow Circus Company artist Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts as lead vocalist for The Side Effects band. Aju's third album features collaborations with close friends and hometown heroes of the San Francisco scene including SF native sister Qzen, who lends vocals for the back and forth duet of 'Psylica', while SF/ Chicago masterclass act DJ Tyrel Williams teams up to 'get our shit together' on 'Nobody Knows'. Once again, Dave Aju takes us on a personal journey set to the groove of a damn good party.

Short info:
Before the full installment of JAWfs collaborative project for Circus Company eMidtownf, let us whet your appetites with the Midtown EP featuring a kaleidoscopic handful of teasers. Contributing artists such as Canadian renegades Art Department, Berlin DJ/producer and Bar25 Alumni Britta Arnold, Dirtybird kingpin Claude
Vonstroke, Hamburg scene staples Philip Wolgast & Benito Winberg and Berlin based duo The/Das, all lend their unique electronic footprints to the already unique and instantly recognisable voice and charisma of JAW. eMidtownf is all about the ambitious sound of an artist reflecting every shade of the world as he
sees it, through collaborations with friends from every corner of the planet and even bringing his family into the fold. From bedroom setups to street recordings to professional studios, spanning melancholic folk, electro pop and apocalyptic R&B, this collection is the culmination of years Jaw has spent connecting with likeminded artists, challenging himself to use his unmistakable voice in different ways and placing the emphasis on having fun, whether the music be dark and obtuse or upbeat and flamboyant. Whatever the case, twenty different recording spaces with twenty different textures have ensured that no two moments on Midtown feel the same. The full compilation is due to drop on Circus Company late September 2014. You may know JAW already, you may not. An artist who has sung into the hearts of dancefloors the world over, JAW is probably best known for his electric performances as the frontman for French house wildcards dOP and their indiepop sideproject Les Fils du Calvaire. Alongside this he has guested on massive tracks such as crossover hit eNo Eyesf by Claptone, Para Onefs eWhen The Nightf and Claude VonStrokefs eLe Fanto.mef, not to mention regular work with his immediate musical family in the Circus Company collective. As if he wasnft already
working with enough artists, eMidtownf now proves that JAWfs muse is a spirit that just wonft quit until every corner
of the world is touched by his honeycoated voice.

Short info:
Dear Listeners,
Here it is, one more 'gain, yours truly up at bat for the good people of the Circus Company. I thought I could drop a few lines myself about the inspiration behind this new EP to offer a lil' personal touch..
A Single String
So I'm light years away from being a specialist on the string theory but the idea of having everything and everyone interconnected by vibrations appeals to the imagination of the musician (and the dirty hippie) in me. Sharing a sunrise on a terrace or a hot and sweaty night in a club is all about this vibration. "A single string" is dedicated to that feeling, the one that makes you think : "wow, we're all in this together". It rolls, it bounces, and that synth line will hopefully make your little fingers reach up for the stars, and strings.
Keys for Hanuman.
This one will be a personal mystery until the day I die. Last fall I returned from an Asia tour to work on some new music in the studio, at first I did as always after a hiatus in production and listened to the last stuff I was working on before I left. And though I have a relatively organized numbering system and decent memory (which may be on the downhill now due to mileage), I had no recollection whatsoever about starting, recording, or even thinking about this tune, at the time titled "Keys For Me". Regardless, it hits the spot just right as I had been thinking about coming back to this sound I used to love years back - more relaxed and stripped down, more hypnotic. Every artist channels inspiration in their own way, and sometimes it rains on you from unknown places. This song is dedicated to Hanuman, the Monkey God, faithful protector of Rama. And by the way, Hanuman also appears on the great cover artwork by Léo "Peanut" Butler.
Winning all the Battles (But Still Losing the War)
I remember a time when we all wanted was to be heard. It seems to me that this time has surely come, but somehow along the way, we may have lost some pieces of the core values that gave us our stride. Time to go back to the essential? Refocus our act? Step out of the limelight and dive deep into the stuffy, obscure, low-ceiling groove box? Maybe so. Winning while losing? Maybe no.

Tracklist: A1 - Close Up (Original Mix) B1 - Close Up (Catz'n Dogz remix) B2 - Close Up (San Proper 'mugshot' remix)
The unique and barnstorming trio from Paris dOP are back on the home turf of Circus Company with killer new single 'Close Up' including remixes from Catz'n Dogz, San Proper. Combining a dynamic groove with JAW's unmistakable sultry drawl and a dreamy soundscape of deep chords and warm pads, the original mix is an addictive slice of vivid vocal house. Catz'n Dogz add more thump with their remix and take the track to the darker recesses of the rave, while in the second remix, San Proper bestows his eclectic style by heightening the dream factor in a spaced out intro before building into the groove against a fresh soundwall of bleeps and oddities. dOP is three vibrant personalities with the musical abilities to express themselves in the most
unique and human of ways in an age where computertronics prevail. Making an indelible mark with their flamboyant style of house on labels such as Eklo, Supplement Facts and of course Circus Company home to debut album 'Greatest Hits', 6 years on, dOP are still basking in the art of live electronic performance and irresistible songs laced with charisma and aimed at the stronghearted, hotheaded dancefloor. o+o Polish wonder duo Catz'n Dogz (formerly 3 Channels) have fully established themselves as global scale artists with their own imprint Pets Recordings, energetic sets and string of big releases on labels such as Dirtybird and Get Physical plus two studio albums on Mothership. o+o+ San Proper has been a heavyweight on the Amsterdam club scene for the past fifteen years, spinning or playing live at all the major clubs and festivals as well as smaller, more dodgy underground locations. Working closely with fresh and genuine labels and organisations such as Rush Hour, Dekmantel and Trouw, San Proper has collaborated with muses, friends and associates Tom Trago, Awanto 3 and Melon and since 2009 he has been performing & presenting a solo live show chanting vocals and playing several live instruments alongside his hardware and digital gear.
