This bumper collection features five exclusive new tunes. Daisybelle & Tasty Lopez's 'Starlight' (Future Disco Ballroom Dub) has a classic disco feel from the two first ladies of the green. Italoconnection - 'All Over' (Future Disco Edit) brings an eighties vibe that reminds of Ibiza venue Pikes, whilst the mysterious Clive From Accounts 'You Understand' impresses with its soaring strings and house bassline. The final two exclusives are Charlie Hepworth's 'It's Satisfaction' with its full thrill house drums and acid flashes, and Boys Shorts's 'Suburban Love Affair' (Brian Ring Remix), which sounds like summer on the shores of Los Angeles in 1989.

House and techno purveyor Ejeca delivers with a high-octane release, ‘Keep Climbing EP’ on Needwant Records, which celebrates 100 releases. The four-tracker is available on a limited run of vinyl. From its inception, Needwant has focussed on pioneering the sounds of tomorrow, developing exciting artists in the world of crossover dance and electronic music including lau.ra, Kiwi, and Ejeca, who first released on the label in 2013. The title track kicks off the EP with serious force; heavy kicks and a glitchy melody loops hypnotically before making way for the track’s commanding vocal which is equally entrancing. Like its title, ‘Keep Climbing’ builds and builds, generating full-throttle energy that is finally erupted after a euphoric piano breakdown. ‘Vader’ reduces the pace and deepens the mood with a deep humming bassline, twinkling chords, and eerie strings. A breakdown follows with Ejaca’s signature ravey piano-lines in combination with hooky top-line vocals that seamlessly takes the track into peak-time party territory. The track is dynamic, enthralling, and highlights the depth to Ejeca’s production. ‘Won’t Beat Me’ is colourfully uplifting from the offset with bright piano and arpeggiating pads shimmering in tandem. The infamous Kiwi returns to Needwant with his second EP on the London label (home to the likes of The Revenge, Ejeca, Maxxi Soundsystem and many more) On this cut Kiwi does what he does best by incorporating emotion and grit into dance music. The EP features 3 mixes of ‘Kiya’ as well as a remix from underground hero Brian Ring. The record has already seen support form the likes of Theo Kottis, AME, Tensnake, catz n dogz, Nick Warren & Fort Romeau to name a few. The record opens with the original version of ‘Kiya' which features warm bass tones, spaced out synth lines, shuffling percussion and a tribal-esq vocal. The Rave mix gives ‘Kiya’ dance floor authority, introducing driving acid synth lines and a weightier low end. On the B side Kiwi delivers a deconstructed ‘Dreamscape’ mix stripping ‘Kiya' back to it’s beautiful bare bones. ‘Kiya’ will be another addition to Kiwi’s already impressive physical discography which includes releases on imprints such as Disco Halal, Future Boogie & 17 Steps. By day, Kemback teaches music production classes to students in Berlin, with such a musical background behind him, his latest EP Moving Through Clouds is every bit exquisite as you’d think. Opening with the luscious ‘I Need You’, hi-hat, bongos and sumptuous strings are just some of the elements that blend together seamlessly, a touch of modern jazz-house. The experimental combinations continue on ‘Stepping Back’, a heavy breaks track coupled with harps and saxophones. Whilst the hazy pads of ‘Moving Through Clouds’ goes down a more atmospheric route. Ashworth's Grain LP captured the imagination of many in the music world on it's release last year. After releasing two original EP's from the album we get an excellent remix package from three leading lights in electronic music. What better way to wrap up his debut with Needwant. The EP serves up three very different remixes all for a different occasion and mood. The ever reliable Dorisbourg, who remains one half of the lauded Genius of Time, takes a laidback Electronica approach but with Techno at it's heart. Newcomer Kris Davis and Yost keep the original feel of Cork but provide a sensual but progressive vibe.

Having recently relocated to London, Urulu & Chaos in the CBD join forces for Needwant’s next stellar release. Robert Owens is widely regarded as a bona-fide originator from the 80’s golden era of Chicago house. Revered for his creations with Larry Heard as Fingers Inc. and responsible for club classics including ‘Ordinary People’ and ‘I’ll Be Your Friend’ (recently remastered and remixed for 1Trax), these days Owens continues to explore new terrain with diverse output and collaborations with the likes of Photek and Coldcut.
