Bradberry's second venture with London label Under The Shade packs a real punch, with full, chugging bass lines driving bright melodies and crisp drums. On UTS35 his two originals are given contrasting remixes from a pair of duos on either side of the Atlantic. Dropping a clue in the title, "On The Bounce" locks in rigid drums with crunchy low end. Vocal samples duck and dive with dirty acid flecks to consolidate this lolloping tribal groove, perfect for whipping the floor into shape! Midlands pairing SAS (Below's Subb An and Adam Shelton) roll out a straight up houser and dont mess with the bounce. Tempering the drums slightly and bringing the longing vocals to the fore they drop a forceful bumper. The mischievous bass of "Guess Who" sets a killer groove, with Bradberry allowing subtle congas to roll around freely. Jazzy samples illuminate while vocal samples add depth and texture. New Yorkers No Regular Play strip the sheen away from the low end and add a helping of grit to the original drums of "Guess Who". Working a shimmering synth into vocal snippets they drop an assured remix, perfect for outside spaces and lost summer days.

This bumper collection features five exclusive new tunes. Daisybelle & Tasty Lopez's 'Starlight' (Future Disco Ballroom Dub) has a classic disco feel from the two first ladies of the green. Italoconnection - 'All Over' (Future Disco Edit) brings an eighties vibe that reminds of Ibiza venue Pikes, whilst the mysterious Clive From Accounts 'You Understand' impresses with its soaring strings and house bassline. The final two exclusives are Charlie Hepworth's 'It's Satisfaction' with its full thrill house drums and acid flashes, and Boys Shorts's 'Suburban Love Affair' (Brian Ring Remix), which sounds like summer on the shores of Los Angeles in 1989.

Elsewhere is the simple but effective future disco of Bondax, a Brazilian via French disco cut from PPJ, and exciting and intricate grooves from the trio of Breakbot, Irfane & Yuksek. House and techno purveyor Ejeca delivers with a high-octane release, ‘Keep Climbing EP’ on Needwant Records, which celebrates 100 releases. The four-tracker is available on a limited run of vinyl. From its inception, Needwant has focussed on pioneering the sounds of tomorrow, developing exciting artists in the world of crossover dance and electronic music including lau.ra, Kiwi, and Ejeca, who first released on the label in 2013. The title track kicks off the EP with serious force; heavy kicks and a glitchy melody loops hypnotically before making way for the track’s commanding vocal which is equally entrancing. Like its title, ‘Keep Climbing’ builds and builds, generating full-throttle energy that is finally erupted after a euphoric piano breakdown. ‘Vader’ reduces the pace and deepens the mood with a deep humming bassline, twinkling chords, and eerie strings. A breakdown follows with Ejaca’s signature ravey piano-lines in combination with hooky top-line vocals that seamlessly takes the track into peak-time party territory. The track is dynamic, enthralling, and highlights the depth to Ejeca’s production. ‘Won’t Beat Me’ is colourfully uplifting from the offset with bright piano and arpeggiating pads shimmering in tandem. The vocal is contagiously catchy, topping the instrumentation with positive energy which is present throughout the track’s duration. ‘Won’t Beat Me’ is a peak-time club big-hitter. Rounding off the EP is ‘Zyfer’ which boasts uncompromisingly chunky kicks and raw industrial echoes, before cleverly switching to a contrasting sonic soundscape in true Ejeca style. 8-bit arpeggiating chords bubble before warping into a driving club melody which dances on top of the heavy-hitting kicks and groovy percussion. The infamous Kiwi returns to Needwant with his second EP on the London label (home to the likes of The Revenge, Ejeca, Maxxi Soundsystem and many more) On this cut Kiwi does what he does best by incorporating emotion and grit into dance music. The EP features 3 mixes of ‘Kiya’ as well as a remix from underground hero Brian Ring. The record has already seen support form the likes of Theo Kottis, AME, Tensnake, catz n dogz, Nick Warren & Fort Romeau to name a few. The record opens with the original version of ‘Kiya' which features warm bass tones, spaced out synth lines, shuffling percussion and a tribal-esq vocal. The Rave mix gives ‘Kiya’ dance floor authority, introducing driving acid synth lines and a weightier low end. On the B side Kiwi delivers a deconstructed ‘Dreamscape’ mix stripping ‘Kiya' back to it’s beautiful bare bones. ‘Kiya’ will be another addition to Kiwi’s already impressive physical discography which includes releases on imprints such as Disco Halal, Future Boogie & 17 Steps. Needwant welcome Bristol born, Berlin based Geoff Wright aka Kemback (Omena/Futureboogie) to the label. By day, Kemback teaches music production classes to students in Berlin, with such a musical background behind him, his latest EP Moving Through Clouds is every bit exquisite as you’d think. Opening with the luscious ‘I Need You’, hi-hat, bongos and sumptuous strings are just some of the elements that blend together seamlessly, a touch of modern jazz-house. The experimental combinations continue on ‘Stepping Back’, a heavy breaks track coupled with harps and saxophones. Whilst the hazy pads of ‘Moving Through Clouds’ goes down a more atmospheric route. The EP includes remixes from Soulphiction and Kim Brown (Needwant). Comprised of two dynamic breakbeat cuts to sink into and some incredible remixes from Earth Boys (Let’s Play House) and Kemback (Omena/Futureboogie). ‘Helical Scan’ comes straight from the Berlin 5am scene with raw breakbeat production and huge hitting pads and rolling synths. Johannes Albert is a producer as diverse as they come. Comfortable across all sub genres of dance music from deep house to italo disco, in Italy they call him Giovanni Alberto. Ashworth's Grain LP captured the imagination of many in the music world on it's release last year. After releasing two original EP's from the album we get an excellent remix package from three leading lights in electronic music. What better way to wrap up his debut with Needwant. The EP serves up three very different remixes all for a different occasion and mood. The ever reliable Dorisbourg, who remains one half of the lauded Genius of Time, takes a laidback Electronica approach but with Techno at it's heart. Newcomer Kris Davis and Yost keep the original feel of Cork but provide a sensual but progressive vibe.

Northern Irishman Ejeca makes his second appearance on London based Needwant after his highly successful 'Horizon EP'. The Lithuanian based producer Mario Basanov released his first solo album ‘Journey’ on Needwant at the end of 2012, which showcased his undeniable talents as a producer and garnered huge international support. Now he follows that long player with a switch in tempos and heads straight to floor with the three track Bill EP. Headline track ‘Bill’ is full of brooding energy and sure to be inspiring open air parties across the summer. ‘Tor’ heads in a more electronic direction with a barrage of enchanting synths, while ‘Give Me Back’ is a relentless slice of electronic Italo inspired House that completes an epic EP. Having recently relocated to London, Urulu & Chaos in the CBD join forces for Needwant’s next stellar release. Robert Owens is widely regarded as a bona-fide originator from the 80’s golden era of Chicago house.
