Sweetart Vinyl. Originally released in 2004, MF DOOM's MM.FOOD is hailed as a classic | hip-hop album full of inventive production, brilliant wordplay, and unique themes. Celebraled for its seamless blend of humor, wit, and social commentary, the album ushers listeners into a bizarre world af food-related metaphors, painting a bitterly comedic portrait of a life tainted by vice, violence, and jealousy. It was a brilliant and novel concept that gave DOOM plenty of room to explore the album's subjects. Throughout MM..FOOD, DOOM embeds complex ideas within seemingly simple narratives. Album opener "Beef Rapp' is a multi-pronged metaphor reminding listeners of the dangers involved in the glorification of conflict, especially within the rap game. "Hoe Cakes" borrows its name from the sweet, hot water cornmeal patties, which he uses as a symbol to rhyme about indulgence and excess. Continuing the motif, DOOM uses the Madlib-produced "One Beer" to fold layers of depth about escapism and ego, while the popular "Rapp Snitch Knishes" critiques the sell-incrimination and contradictory behaviors of some rappers. Overall, MM.FOOD is both a social commentary and a piece of social satire, showcasing MF DOOM'S ability to blend serious themes with his unique, playful lyrical style. In celebration of the album's 20th anniversary, MM.FOOD has been repackaged with all new artwork by Sam Rodriguez!

Underneath his mysterious metal mask, MF DOOM hides the cachet underground legends are made of. After his first group KMD's sophomore album Black Bastards was shelved by Elektra in 1994, and his blood brother Subroc _ one half of the sibling rap duo _ passed away, surviving frontman Zev Love X slowly mutated into the supervillain MC known as MF DOOM, and the rap world is better for it. The 1999 release of Operation: Doomsday marked MF DOOM's official debut, reintroducing a mysterious figure who would soon become one of underground rap's greatest voices. Within its 19 tracks, Operation: Doomsday reveals the confluence of DOOM's tragic past, personal interests and daring creativity. His clever rhymes and remarkable schemes stood out against the landscape, and every sound he touched _ from cartoon theme songs, to `80s soul, to rap classics and more _ got reinterpreted into something brand new and surreal. Decades later, MF DOOM is still celebrated for all facets of his work and influence. In the face of tragedy, DOOM re-infiltrated the rap game on his own terms, and crafted an instant cult classic. Operation: Doomsday stands as a testament to the power of betting on yourself against all odds.

Sweetart Vinyl. Originally released in 2004, MF DOOM's MM.FOOD is hailed as a classic | hip-hop album full of inventive production, brilliant wordplay, and unique themes. Celebraled for its seamless blend of humor, wit, and social commentary, the album ushers listeners into a bizarre world af food-related metaphors, painting a bitterly comedic portrait of a life tainted by vice, violence, and jealousy. It was a brilliant and novel concept that gave DOOM plenty of room to explore the album's subjects. Throughout MM..FOOD, DOOM embeds complex ideas within seemingly simple narratives. Album opener "Beef Rapp' is a multi-pronged metaphor reminding listeners of the dangers involved in the glorification of conflict, especially within the rap game. "Hoe Cakes" borrows its name from the sweet, hot water cornmeal patties, which he uses as a symbol to rhyme about indulgence and excess. Continuing the motif, DOOM uses the Madlib-produced "One Beer" to fold layers of depth about escapism and ego, while the popular "Rapp Snitch Knishes" critiques the sell-incrimination and contradictory behaviors of some rappers. Overall, MM.FOOD is both a social commentary and a piece of social satire, showcasing MF DOOM'S ability to blend serious themes with his unique, playful lyrical style. In celebration of the album's 20th anniversary, MM.FOOD has been repackaged with all new artwork by Sam Rodriguez!

Before MF DOOM donned his mask and became one of the most prolific MC-producers of modern Hip-Hop, he was a member of KMD, an early `90s rap group whose work still goes criminally under-appreciated to this day. Following their 1991 debut album, Mr. Hood, the former trio shed one member leaving only two remaining - Subroc and his brother, Zev Love X (better known today as MF DOOM). Originally scheduled for release in 1994, their sophomore album Black Bastards showed clear progression from their debut. It was a truly amazing record, both sonically and lyrically, full of youthful creativity and tinged with the stresses of growing up as Black men in urban America. Songs like the lead single "What A N*gga Know", the slippery, bass-driven "Get U Now", and the album's title track explore Black consciousness viewed through young-but-experienced eyes. Musically alternating between bouncy and raw - many times both, concurrently - the tracks gave the MC's the springboard they needed to express themselves clearly. Sadly, Subroc would face a sudden and untimely death in 1993, just as the duo were finishing the album. Grief-stricken, his brother Zev Love X - now the sole remaining member of the group - was determined to carry the legacy of KMD onward, but Elektra Records unceremoniously shelved the project in the eleventh hour, due to controversy surrounding the album's provocative cover art. Following the fallout with Elektra, Zev tried for years to release the album on other labels, but he was continually met with dead ends. Struggling through the pain of losing his brother, coupled with the inability to release their final project together, a discouraged Zev Love X quietly withdrew from the scene and began quietly plotting his revenge on an industry that had broken him spiritually. Thus, in order to understand the true origin story of the super-villain, MF DOOM, one must recognize and appreciate the evolution of his former group, KMD, and the backstory of their pivotal album, Black Bastards.

Underneath his mysterious metal mask, MF DOOM hides the cachet underground legends are made of. After his first group KMD's sophomore album Black Bastards was shelved by Elektra in 1994, and his blood brother Subroc _ one half of the sibling rap duo _ passed away, surviving frontman Zev Love X slowly mutated into the supervillain MC known as MF DOOM, and the rap world is better for it. The 1999 release of Operation: Doomsday marked MF DOOM's official debut, reintroducing a mysterious figure who would soon become one of underground rap's greatest voices. Within its 19 tracks, Operation: Doomsday reveals the confluence of DOOM's tragic past, personal interests and daring creativity. German House artist Oliver Dollar announces his ‘Contemporary’ LP on Rekids, arriving 21st November 2025. Motor city royalty Floorplan, aka Detroit techno pioneer and creator of minimal techno Robert Hood and his DJ/producer daughter Lyric Hood, announce their forthcoming inclusion in the deeply respected ‘fabric presents’ mix series with the release of their new single ‘You’re A Shining Star’, out now. The full mix drops on digital/vinyl/CD via fabric records on 28th November. Robert has been a long-standing fabric favourite since the institution's earliest years, clocking up over 20 sets in Room 2, including a live session on New Year's Eve, 2012. In 2008, he'd turn in Fabric 39 which is among the most revered contributions to the fabric mix canon. Now, with the forthcoming ‘fabric presents Floorplan’ mix, the story comes full circle - marking both the duo’s debut on the iconic mix series and a monumental moment for the family project. About Floorplan: Emerging from a musically rich Detroit upbringing steeped in Motown and vinyl culture, Robert Hood became an early member of the seminal ’90s collective Underground Resistance, helping to spearhead the rise of techno. Going solo, Hood created minimal techno with his Minimal Nation LP. Groundbreaking productions, acclaimed performances, and his own M-plant label followed, until in ’96 he formed Floorplan - an alter ego to expand beyond minimal techno into gospel, soul and house-infused techno. Immersed in music from an early age, Lyric eventually caught the same electronic spark that’s driven her father for decades. In 2014, after the release of Hood’s debut Floorplan album Paradise, the project evolved as the then-16-year-old Lyric joined him to perform as Floorplan, including a supreme closing set at Dekmantel’s Boiler Room stage. Two years later, Lyric officially became a full member of Floorplan, cementing their father–daughter collaboration, and they’d release their co-produced album Victorious on M-Plant that same year.

When DOOM reemerged on the scene in the 90s, he firmly marked his return, capturing the theory of knowing the rules if only to better break them.
That sentiment was captured not only in his unique writing method, but also in his production style that birthed the moniker Metal Fingers. He seamlessly blended creative ingenuity with the all-too-obvious, and a unique ability to sample things oft-considered off limits, yet still create magic.
The 10 volume Special Herbs instrumental series captures a key moment in time of Metal Fingers DOOM as producer, assembling, and sometimes slightly reworking, select beats from albums such as MM..Food, Operation: Doomsday, & King Geedorah, as well as a collection of exclusive beats.

For the fifth release on Silum Records, the in-house production collective Wavetest teams up with longtime friend Lexx for two tracks and completes the 12” with a new creation of their own. “Last Dance at Zukunft” and “Alpine State” were both inspired by the iconic Zurich venue Zukunft which closed its doors in the spring of 2025. Club Zukunft was a cornerstone of Zurich’s underground club culture for nearly two decades. Everyone involved in the making of this record spent countless nights there, whether behind the decks, on stage or dancing in the crowd. This release is both a celebration and a heartfelt farewell to a place whose impact on Zurich’s music scene remains unmatched.

Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant is a figure in techno history that needs little introduction. As a member of the Sandwell District collective and the label’s art director he collaborated on works that were responsible for a global focal shift in the genre as their label adapted and challenged the paradigm of minimal techno, taking influence from other sources such as dub, post-punk, and even classical minimalism.
But Mendez’s relationship with music goes back much further than these seminal releases. With In Memoriam, Silent Servant’s latest release on Tresor Records, Mendez writes a deeply personal memoir of a 30-plus year career spent exploring and absorbing the shadowy side of music; a carefully crafted elegy to people, places, and times past and the lasting effect they have on the present.
Across the four tracks, Mendez pays tribute to the earliest Detroit techno and electro, the Belgian EBM movement and the wave music that followed, the monumental dub techno sound from Berlin, and the harder, abrasive sound of the UK at the turn of the last millennium; exploring and referencing the genres that informed his later work. Each track name gives a hint to the timeframe he is revisiting and re-contextualising as the E.P. repurposes the styles that exerted an influence on him.
This E.P. represents a pure distillation of Mendez’s memories whilst also cementing his place in the current and future sound of 21st century techno; aware of where we came from but focused on where we are heading.

GAMM is proud to welcome New Zealand born, but these days based in Berlin, Philippa to our camp.
Over the last years, Philippa has been releasing amazing, warm, soulful, and highly distinctive dance music on labels like Slothboogie and Freerange as well as building her DJ roster. For her premier GAMM release,'Cloud Walking EP', Philippa has three amazing tracks that all mix up samples, live musicality, and vocals. If you put Moodymann and Henrik Schwarz in a blender somewhere in the Balearic Islands, you're kinda close. Either way, it's deep, organic, and almost kinda orchestral at some points. If you ask us, we would simply call it dance MUSIC.
Opening the EP is the title track 'Cloud Walking' which is a deep Fender Rhodes affair with vocals inspired by Aretha's Day Dreaming classic. Moving on, on 'Hear Me' Philippa shows off her musical piano skills with a lush and atmospheric deep house jam. On 'Return To The Red Kite' we follow a similar theme but with big warm orchestral strings, spoken words, and live guitars. Again, very Balearic yet very soulful and incredibly pleasant to your ears :)
