First up in D’Julz’s ‘The School of Night’ EP on his Bass Culture label is ‘Nu Bass’, a fresh and upbeat house sound with kinetic percussion and well-swung drums. Steamy vocal coos and deft synth stabs build a compelling future vibe before ‘Spooky Electrik’ comes in with more punchy but deep house sound. Dancing hi-hats pepper the groove along with curious little synth motifs, bringing a cosmic feel while the all-important bassline powers things forward. D’Julz’s knack for cooking up killer grooves is evident again on ‘Money, Honey, Monday?’ which is jacked up and percussive but also hugely seductive, with the smeared vocals and warming pads keeping things classy and soulful. Last of all, ‘Triperie’ is more menacing and stripped back – a paranoid lead synth roams about the mix as the crisp drums rise and fall in a fashion that will get floors marching late into the night.

As we move into 2019, the captain of the good ship Bass Culture steers the label to its latest release with D’Julz delivering a hot new three­track EP. The seasoned Parisian maestro channels his years of experience into this new release, with a polished collection of tracks, all centred on the dance floor with subtle, yet persuasive production across all three cuts. As you may expect from D’Julz and Bass Culture, there is plenty of depth, energy and low end to keep those hips swinging and heads nodding… On side A things get off to a bouncy start with ‘Lemon Juice’, a funky little number with lively drum programming and a very spirited bassline. Quite minimal in its production, this cut uses its relative simplicity to grab you and keep you hypnotised until the very end. Flip the record over and side B starts with ‘Wrecka Stow’ taking us on a dark side ride. D’Julz kicks off side B in style with this driving techy cut. A simmering energy pervades throughout as he gently builds the tension, working from a spellbinding riff that repeats over and over. Occasional dips and rises in the energy create electrifying moments, as this rolls out with a deadly rhythm. Lastly, there’s ‘Singularity’, a sombre dance into the wilderness. This dreamy, mellow cut is pushed along by softened breaks and a subdued bassline. D’Julz tantalises our emotions with wistful atmospherics that send chills down your spine as you venture ever deeper into he misty realms of the eerie world he has created. A fitting end to the EP.... There we have it, D’Julz returns to his beloved label with a formidable new collection of tracks. Genial!

It’s time for the next release on long-running Paris label Bass Culture and owner D’Julz has invited a crack team of talented individuals to deliver the magic to this latest instalment in the label’s release schedule. This extra special remix package features contributions from the legendary DJ Skull, along with Sebo K, Henrik Bergqvist and Romanian MP. The bossman’s own 2015 EP ‘Houdini’ is the subject of this exquisite bunch of reworks, giving the whole release a fresh lick of paint from a group of artists handpicked by D’Julz to get to work on his productions. The title track ‘Houdini’ is first in line, with the mighty DJ Skull on remix duty. The Chi-town legend has been a favourite of D’Julz since the early nineties when he was releasing on labels such as Djax-Up-Beats. The funk-imbued workout he creates from the original production is superb and a testament to someone who has been involved in music for three decades and still going strong. Keeping DJ Skull’s remix company on the A-side is Sebo K with his take on ‘Serendipity’. Following on from his outstanding EP ‘Brock Wild’, Sebo returns to Bass Culture with another taught dance floor cut, full of swing and groove, pushed along with a strong, insistent energy. On the flipside the deep sultry flavours continue to bubble up. Two more dynamic artists bring their unique touch to Bass Culture and the first is the Romanian wonderkid MP (Mihai Popescu), who has previously released on the sub-label Bass Culture Limited. His reinterpretation of ‘Serendipity’ is deep, nuanced and quirky with a simmering atmosphere throughout.Last but certainly not least is the Swedish maestro Henrik Bergqvist. ‘Waiting 4 Visa’ gets a kick in its step, with mysterious cosmic FX layered over a mesmerising bassline and a collection of bleeps and chirps that really bring the remix to life. And there it is, four superb new mixes of three great tracks… enjoy!

A celebration of a party born from frustration with his City’s scene, it went on to become one of the longest standing and most respected nights of a generation. Sharing the booth with just one invited artist each night, each playing extended sets, gave the Parisian a perfect outlet for perfecting his craft. Skills honed at those Bass Culture nights not only helped craft an enviable DJ style, but also influenced his talent in both a&r’ing for his Bass Culture record label and the production of his own music. The Foxxy Ep finds D’Julz in a playful mood. ‘Ze Fox’ opens up with its stretched filters, funky guitar lick and merry vocal. The jittery hats of ‘Big Kid’ follows with its disco loops and sunshine vibe delivering smiles for miles, making you, yeah, feel like a big kid. ’Next’ is the cute little heartbreaker that brings this Foxxy Ep to a close. Its rough, juddering and yet grooving bassline is matched with synth washes, piercing snares and bird calls to create a perfect finale to a perfect EP.

Bass Culture’s latest release comes straight from the studio of the label head, D’Julz. A man who draws on dub influences, groove and deep soul-enriching rhythms, D’Julz is a member of the Paris old school fraternity and brings that classic sound right into the 21st Century with his Houdini EP.Across three tracks we have a selection of music that epitomises what he’s all about. The title track gets things rolling with a sultry groove pervading throughout, crunchy claps add depth while fizzing synth lines and throwback yelps give it plenty of character. Bass Culture is very proud to welcome in the family one of the most talented french producer of his génération : Flabaire !

Between his work as co-owner of Parisian label D.KO Records, playing bass with Secret Value Orchestra, his more recent psych-rock project Aboukir, and his own solo electronic productions as Flabaire, Ralph Maruani has carved his own cosmic melodic universe. Now at the age of 30, three albums already released and a number of EPs, appearances and remixes, Flabaire appeared already throughout France, and across borders (Tresor, Hoppetosse, Pratersauna, …).
His music has been recognised by legendary artists such as Move D or Point G/DJ Gregory as well as many others of his most accomplished peers. He recently released an acclaimed EP on Jimpster’s latest label Cyphon Recordings & just released a new EP on Rawax/Housewax

D’Julz’s Bass Culture Records signs up ZKY for four exceptional deep house cuts.

ZKY’s ‘New Standards’ EP on Bass Culture opens up with ‘Zycho’, a lithe house sound with wispy pads that bring cosmic colour to its dynamic groove. It’s endlessly on the move and ramps up the tension with tripped-out chord movements. The fantastic ‘Floating Phonk’ then slows things down via funky loops and sprinkles of organic percussion. Filtered, cut-up vocal samples enter the mix next to smudged pads, adding warmth to ice-cold beats and otherworldly vocal murmurs.

10 Years Of Bass Culture: Part 3
The third and final part of Bass Culture’s 10th anniversary package is here and we end on a high with two of the label’s brothers alongside the bossman himself, D’Julz. Also contributing to this milestone celebration are Leo Pol and Mr. G. For 10 years Bass Culture has maintained the highest standards when it comes to house and techno, releasing some seminal productions and becoming a go-to label for many of the scene’s true connoisseurs. This final installment of the 10 Years Of Bass Culture series keeps the quality as high as ever...
D’Julz leads the way with ‘Synchronicity’ a smooth groove that wraps you up in its smoky atmosphere. Once it gets rolling a mystical, flute-driven riff drifts in, evoking Middle Eastern rhythms as it dances above the seductive bassline. Subtle percussive elements shimmy and slide around the main break loop, keeping the energy levels on point. Magnifique!
Leo Pol steps up next with ‘Established 1991’. As the title suggests this cut has a retro-leaning outlook, conjuring up images of a warehouse rave on the outskirts of Paris in the early nineties. A deep bassline works alongside soft pads and strings with a stripped back drum arrangement. The beats really kick in just after the two minute mark, with the kicks and claps adding a dynamic layer to this simmering cut.
Last, but certainly not least, the right honourable Mr. G steps up with ‘Now Is The Time!’. As you might expect, the production and energy on this cut are utterly compelling. A moody start is peppered with a classic reggae sample as the tension slowly builds. Mr. G takes a considered approach, keep it dark and deadly without overcooking any of the elements, the brooding vibe simmering away from start to end. A masterclass and a perfect way to close the EP...

Unveiling the second installment from Bass Culture’s 10th anniversary package. Over the past decade D’Julz has established Bass Culture as one of the most respected outlets for authentic house and techno, focused squarely on the underground, designed to work the floor and give your body, mind and soul a large dose of bass-driven groove. Across three EPs, the label is unleashing fresh new music from an all-star cast of core family members - artists who have been part of the label’s success from the very early days, up until now. On Part Two we kick off with ‘Haze 1997’ by Mark Ambrose. With rugged, tribal-esque beats at its foundation this cut is taking no prisoners. Soon, a heinous bassline rolls in giving this one its fierce character. Cosmic pads drift in, with chirps and chimes that balance out the thick low end frequencies. Next up is Lady Blacktronika with ‘Congrats Bitch’, a typically bouncy production with skippy percussion and a seriously gnarly bassline. This one will send tremors through the dance floor. Add in the wistful analogue stabs that punctuate the top end and you’ve got a potent weapon to work the clubs with…On the flip side Alex Picone steps up with a contemplative yet punchy cut entitled ‘Melting Moon’. This is a soulful, groovy little number that will have your hips slinking from side to side, as it captivates your mind with its glistening effects and smooth b-line. Alex gives this one a touch of class, as only he can. Lastly, Chicago bossman DJ Skull delivers a funky cut to close the EP. ‘Mood’ blends jazz, funk and soul with the core foundations of real house music to create a wonderfully energetic track full of sexy, sassy vibes. Chicago pioneer DJ Skull steps up for the latest Bass Culture release bringing that original energy as only a native of the Windy City can do. After remixing ‘Houdini’ by D’Julz earlier this year it’s an honour to welcome DJ Skull back to the label for his debut EP. Skull’s depth of experience dates back the mideighties when he began to play house music when he was just 10 years old. Fast forward to 2018 and he’s still deeply involved with the music, keeping the passion alive and traveling across the world to spread the house music gospel. On this threetrack EP he brings the funk, undiluted and fresh with chunky bass, crisp beats and hints of acid coming through.On the Aside we have ‘Powered Funk’, a delightful cut with a laid back groove and a contagious rhythm that gets under your skin immediately. The beats skip along with precision, keeping the energy levels high while the low end keeps your hips swinging and head nodding. The main melody is uplifting and evolves into a symphony of positive vibrations. Flip the record over and side B kicks off with ‘Bopping’, a pianoled jam with the keys working in tandem with the gentle flutter of a flute and a jazzy double bass providing the heart and soul of the cut. Skull rolls this one out masterfully, with gentle progression and non stop energy throughout. Finally, we have the aptlynamed ‘Aseed’, a 303inspired track which uses that infamous acidsound to great effect. The low end rumbles along purposefully, with crisp 4x4 beats pushing things forward and that irresistable acid riff inducing the listener into a state of hypnosis. Bass Culture welcomes Frenchman Leo Pol to the fold for this fresh new four-tracker full of analogue vibes. Leo’s penchant for synthesisers and the warmth of his beloved machines is evident throughout this new release, with a retro soul spliced with modern sensibilities and, of course, visions of the future. Things get off to an energetic start with ‘Caliente’, a track that combines a killer main riff, scintillating pads and steam-powered percussion to really get those feet moving. This is followed by ‘Fnc Burning’, which totally slips the script with its off-kilter rhythm and UK-influenced breakbeat-esque sound. Get ready for a sublime breakdown, with more UK rave stylings in the second half… fresh!On the flip side we get ‘Dark Outside, which harks back to the early days of post-electro Detroit. Those formative years when masters like Juan Atkins were the soundtrack of Motor City… from the hushed, silky vocal to the cosmic bleeps, this is a homage to the ghosts of techno’s past, with a contemporary sheen.Finally, we finish up with ‘Techyes No!’, a dark, marauding stomper with a menacing atmosphere and spinetingling strings to really amplify the eerie feeling that pervades throughout. A UK techno powerhouse returns to Bass Culture for their 55th release, bringing the ruckus with four deadly cuts that combine killer beats with powerful bass and a high level of production, as you might expect from D’Julz’s respected label. Ben Sims appears under his Ron Bacardi alias with a follow up to 2015’s debut release, ‘Rock Your Body/First Effort’. Much like the first EP, Sims’ new release is fired up and ready to deliver its potent energy to the dance floors of the world.On the A side we’re met with ‘Windy City’, which kicks things off in frenetic style, its slamming beats colliding with the layers of analogue to produce a rather chaotic start to proceedings. This is followed by ‘Ready For Action’ a tough, bouncing cut featuring a delectable female vocal which really sets things off nicely.

The flipside continues in a similar vein as ‘One Left In The Chamber’ brings a smooth vibe, though with the emphasis still on the percussive side of things. Sims flexes his production muscles across all four tracks here, injecting the music with his years of experience on the road and in the studio. The last track is a ‘Beats Mix’ of ‘Ready For Action’, highlighting the focus on beats, beats and more beats, adding an extra touch to an already powerful track. This is music par excellence from an artist who is a consummate professional, enjoy!

3024 is excited to announce "Panta Rei", the long-awaited debut album by London-based, Italian artist Ehua. This album, which comprises a collection of songs crafted over the span of a year and a half, is not just an exploration through sound but also a significant milestone in Ehua's personal and artistic development. For the first time, she explores her vocal expression while also incorporating a range of percussive and other analog and acoustic instruments, resulting in a distinctive set traversing various corners of the bass music continuum.

Accompanied by unique artwork created out of concrete by Jeroen Erosie, a booklet with background and photography and a short eponymous film, 'Panta Rei' represents an intricate 'gesamtkunstwerk'. An exciting blend of various media with contributions from a range of artists, of course all centered around Ehua's beautiful and intimate music.

"Panta Rei" will be released in May, available on vinyl, as well as digitally and in booklet format. 3024 X Planet Wax are hosting a launch event on April 24th in South London.

Over the past decade, Chaos In The CBD, the brotherly production duo of Louis and Ben Helliker-Hales, have captivated global audiences with their spectral, jazz-inflected deep house sound. With over 100 million streams worldwide, the New Zealand-born, London-based artists are set to release their highly anticipated debut album, A Deeper Life on May 9, 2025 via the label head’s very own In Dust We Trust imprint.

To celebrate the announcement, Chaos In The CBD have shared the atmospheric lead single ‘Love Language’, featuring fellow New Zealander Nathan Haines on Saxophone. It’s an undeniable standout moment on the album—moody, ethereal, and naturally soothing. Speaking on the track, Chaos In The CBD explains: “‘Love Language’ is a track that suits almost any setting, evoking the laid-back, easygoing rhythm of life in New Zealand. Perfect for a road trip to the beach or those magical moments at an after party when the sun reappears. Love Language feels like a reflection of the journey that brought it to life and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”

The 14 track LP marks a significant evolution in Chaos In The CBD’s artistic journey. Known for their signature sound epitomised by their breakout EP Midnight In Peckham on Rhythm Section, the duo’s debut album unites live instrumentation and vocal collaborations for the first time, fusing together key musical influences such as Ambient, Soulful house, R&B, Jazz & Balearic into a melting pot of an epic journey that will surely become a future classic. If Midnight In Peckham was the duo’s coming of age; then their debut album is Chaos In The CBD coming full circle. It features contributions from legendary figures such as Josh Milan of Blaze, Lee Pearson Jr., Stephanie Cooke and UK grime MC Novelist, among others.

Though they’ve been based in London for over a decade, Louis and Ben (aka Beans) have never stopped feeling at one with their homeland. A Deeper Life is nostalgic for their nature-filled youth, exploring the magical coastline and lush rainforest of New Zealand. “The title refers to our childhood, which was idyllic,” says Ben. “It was just the sun, the sand, the sea, waterfalls, birds and fish...” The result is an international dance sound that feels unmistakably like Chaos and ebbs and flows from the beach party to the club to the afterhours. “It’s laid-back but still driving at the same time; it’s club ready, but still deep,” Ben explains. It’s also distinctly Balearic: The brothers found a particular affinity with 90s Ibiza chillout music, being from such a “chill place” themselves. “In its own way, New Zealand is incredibly Balearic, but without the party side” says Ben.

The brothers hope that their debut evidences their deep appreciation of 90s house music, from David Morales’s Red Zone mixes and Kerri Chandler to DJ Sprinkles, Larry Heard and beyond. “We didn’t go to the school of hard knocks, we went to the school of Carl Cox,” they wrote in one of their typically hilarious posts on Instagram. But while they’ve built a meme-driven online personality for their social media accounts, their album shows a deeper side to them too. “We joke around but we want this album to be taken seriously,” says Louis. “It’s music from all around the globe, and there’s a deep meaning to how it flows and sticks together”.
For Chaos In The CBD, A Deeper Life is more than an album—it’s a celebration of their roots, their community, and their enduring bond as brothers. “This is a love letter to home and the feeling of being within nature,” says Louis. “It’s also an ode to a slower pace of life.” The album is an invitation to journey through their world: from the beaches of New Zealand to the heart of London’s dancefloors, and everywhere in between.
