Already the record’s cover shows the way: Tangled lines result in an image of a dog’s head, with its mischievously contrary look: Perhaps the hallmark of Dachshund, who advertises on his Facebook page that this is, “music for dogs” - an artist who is obviously not taking himself too seriously. But he has every reason to. The Swiss native jets around the world as a DJ, is an extremely resourceful producer with an unwavering sense of rhythm and beats and has also now established his own label, “Clapper”. None of this seems to be enough for Dachshund. With “Eleven Ridims” he presents his debut album on the Berlin label “Highgrade”. Let us state clearly: The record is a victory for those who are tired of the sterile monotony that populates so much of the music to be found in the current scene. In each of the eleven tracks you can hear the heart and soul of a thoroughbred musician. Although “Eleven Ridims” is incredibly varied, from the melodic and quiet, to the pounding dancefloor killers and back, the album works as a unified whole. Perhaps this is a result of it’s method of creation. “It felt completely natural to make this album,” Dachshund says himself. In the beginning the beats and melodies were established in his head, and from there they almost seemed to evolve into tracks by themselves. For Dachshund, “Eleven Ridims” is a unique opportunity to show another side of himself: From the path of pure dancefloor tracks through to more melodic pieces. At the same time, the album is a tribute to his musical roots. As the title suggests: “Ridims” is a Jamaican slang term for an instrumental track. And very clearly from the sunny islands come many of Dachshunds musical influences: It was the Jamaican dub of the 70s to the 90s, which as a teenager inspired the budding musician and led him, as a 15 year old, to play guitar in a reggae band. From that point on, the music has never let him go: At the Konservatorium in Geneva, he took courses in electro-acoustics and learned pretty much everything there was to know about producing music. Gradually, his interest developed more towards Electronic Dub - he began to organize drum and bass parties and mixed records, and eventually ended up where he is today. The Reggae and Dub influence of his past is still clearly evident here. As with the track “Intensity Dub”, in which he brings the rough riding and natural sound of the past back to life. Analogue techniques result in distorted sounds, which radiate a unique energy. “I like it because it reminds me of my beginnings”, Dachshund says. The track is very different from the standard Dub Techno – a stroke of luck for Dachshund and typical of his method of making, music: “When I compose, I don’t like rules, but try to be spontaneous and open,” he says. For Dachshund, “Eleven Ridims” is a new step in his career. A step however, in which he feels no pressure. “It was great that I had the freedom with Highgrade to do what I wanted,” he says. He isn’t nervous, but simply excited about the upcoming reactions. And the reactions for “Eleven Ridims” can only be those of excitement and delight.

The name Dachshund is one immediately associated with experimantation, an innate feeling for ryhthm and good dose of tongue and cheek. The Swiss DJ, producer and label founder can scarcely hide his musical roots in Reggae. The sunshine feeling from those days still shines through in his current productions and gives them a touch of dub.
His latest EP for Highgrade Records is no different. This leads to the first track “Extensive Talk“ with its reduced beginning sounding something like a false start. Gloomy voices implore us to ’ Come, sit down, forever’. This delusion establishes itself in a musical theatre, while simultaneously becomming more pressing as the track winds it’s way into the legs – moving inexorably towards the second groovy track, “Asymmentric Love“, with it’s sprinkle of varied and original sound ideas. The final offering, “Octogone“ goes even further and weaves original loops and straight edged percussion into a compelling carpet of sound.

Dachshund is a living example of a musician who doesn’t take himself too seriously: His lively productions, where his passion for experimentation in rhythm and sound are clearly evident, stand out as a welcome departure from the sterile work of so many other heads in the scene. Besides humor, an easy-going Jamaican feeling characterizes his sets and tracks: The Swiss DJ, producer and label owner has his musical roots in reggae, which he has followed all the way to the sunny Caribbean. No wonder then, that we can hear the dub influence in his current musical output.
True to form, Dachshund presents his latest release on the Berlin record label, Highgrade Records, where the beats will blister through the speakers in unexpected combinations and grooves. Around every corner there seems to lurk a new mad idea or sound sequence from Dachshund, who
leads his listeners equally as he misleads them on the dancefloor. With a sly musical wink, he offers us three tracks “Shall We”, “Soul Free” and “Tell Me” produced with sophistication and elegance. These tunes switch almost imperceptibly into a grooving mind-trip that perfectly fits the title of the EP. This is the equivalent of a relaxing invitation to dance: “Shall We”? … But, of course!

Anyone who advertises on their Facebook site that they create ’music for dogs’ while working under the name “Dashshund“ must have a sence of humor. And indeed, it seems the Swiss DJ, producer and label boss doesn’t think much of sterile production and is prepared to use his sence of passion and fun to create rhythms of every kind in his work. Perhaps this is a legacy of Dashshunds musical roots: In the 90’s he played in various Reggae bands, which eventually took him to Jamaica. From the sunny islands he brought back a dub influence which can still be heard in his music today. He has already proven, with his Highgrade debut on the “Group Of Connected Heads“ compilation, his feeling for up-beat, bouncy rhythms. Nothing has changed with his first solo release on Highgrade. Groovy, original and funky, it booms from the speakers. That the first track is called “Stand Firm”, must be due to the humor of Dachshund: The beats immediately encourage you to do the exact opposite… Shake your rump!

Formats: 180g Vinyl, heavy cardboard full colour print
MARTHIAL joins NECHTO with ‘NECH029’, a four-track vinyl release blending tradition and futurism. The record pays homage to a genre central to MARTHIAL’s imagination, drawing on its history to shape a forward-thinking sonic vision. The Milan-born and -based artist describes the EP as “a reflection on change: everything transforms, everything evolves, and we are tasked with finding harmony between what has been and what could be”.
Born Alessandro Vaccari, MARTHIAL is a DJ, producer, and founder of Milan’s independent cultural hub, the Tempio del Futuro Perduto. Through this unique space and his 24/H Records label, MARTHIAL has collaborated with influential artists like Stanislav Tolkachev and Fabrizio Rat. The EP represents a personal journey for MARTHIAL, who describes the process of revisiting this sonic language as an opportunity to redefine himself and his perspective on the world. By channelling the past as a guide and embracing the future as a responsibility, he crafts a cohesive narrative that combines deep emotional resonance with forward-thinking energy.

Alton Miller feat. Maurissa Rose - Bring Me Down (Coflo Instrumental)
No Return!
Cataleya Music continues 2025 in style with the powerful Bring Me Down. Alton Miller is no stranger to the label,
having remixed Mark Francis' Exclusively last year. Miller has a Detroit House pedigree stretching back to the
1980s and today can be found on labels like Mister Bear and Quintessentials. Detroit's Maurissa Rose has
worked with everyone from Dave Lee to Theo Parrish. Bring Me Down appeared on Sound Signature in 2017
and is back now with new remixes. Alton Miller's Remix features a strong vocal display and understanding keys.
The Instrumental focuses closely on those keys and organic percussion. Coflo continues his relationship with
Cataleya with stellar remixes. Coflo's Vocal Remix employs a flute, which gives Maurissa's vocals a melancholic
tinge. His Instrumental sees the flute fly alongside a sturdy backend. Cataleya Music is already shaping up for a
strong 2025.

Oliver Dollar presents Contemporary Part Three on Rekids The third instalment features collaborations with Ben Silver, Boogs, and Hazmat, and features Apropos and Boog Brown. Berlin’s Oliver Dollar unveils part three of his ‘Contemporary’ series, releasing on Radio Slave’s Rekids 4th April 2025 and following up last year’s parts one and two, which featured the likes of Harvard Bass, Brillstein, ADMN, and Austin Ato, and won support from the likes of Nightmares On Wax, Anja Schneider, Laurent Garnier, Carista, Jennifer Cardini, Dam Swindle, and more. Part three of Contemporary sees Oliver Dollar invite another cast of hotly tipped collaborators, kicking offthe EP with Melbourne DJ and producers Ben Silver and Boogs - both resident DJs at Revolver Upstairs - for ‘Cosmic Weapon’. Their track features lush, poignant chords underpinned by a rolling groove, with vocal samples warped, chopped, and sliced above for a mind-melting trip. Up next, ‘What Cha’ Gonna Do?’ sees Dollar team up with Apropos, whose inimitable voice previously featured on ‘Contemporary Part One’, and talented Detroit vocalist and Dilla’s Delights’ Boog Brown for a soulful duet. Last up is another Motor City link-up featuring Hazmat Live on production alongside Oliver Dollar for the infectious House energy of ‘Ought To Be Love’, joined by the earworm vocals of Members of the House front vocalist William Beaver, aka Billy Love, known for his work bringing Motown-style gospel vocals to Techno and House with notable Detroit artists like JeffMills, Theo Parrish, Moodymann, Kevin Saunderson, and many more. Closing out the ‘I Feel’ EP, Tal Fussman works with fellow producer 8-AN to drop the dream-like strings of ‘Life Itself’, another deep track that is as club-ready as it is introspective.

4. SHORT INFO:
Many of the greatest artists of all time found inspiration in their dreams... and pdqb is known to be an absolute pro when it comes to creatively exploiting the REM cycles.
Recently, for example, he dreamed of Gunnar, who had witnessed the rise and fall of electronic dance music, which had once held simple-minded creatures in its thrall. The beats had a peculiar effect on them, drawing them into euphoric trances. But Gunnar, allergic to its hypnotic frequencies, stood apart, unaffected. However, eventually, in a hidden enclave in the highlands of Reykjavík, he met Dr. Amara El-Amin, a neuroscientist fascinated by his unique immunity. Together, they discovered that Gunnar's resistance was a gift, offering insights into human consciousness and the power of music. With this knowledge, Gunnar inspired a global movement celebrating frequencies that resonate...differently. Though EDM had become a relic, Gunnar Oliasson remained a legend - a bad taste survivor who embraced a symphony of pure electrical potential, a language of circuits and oscillations beyond sound.
He woke with a jolt, the phantom music still echoing in his mind. He scribbled furiously, equations and diagrams mixing with strange, abstract notations. The dream, he knew, was a glimpse into a world where his inventions would dance, not just function.
For Synaptic Cliffs, it is an extraordinary honor to be able to offer you, dear listeners, the soundtrack of pdqb's world-changing dream: Four beautiful genre-defining Electrocognition tracks, embracing the depths of the human wetware. And three jaw-dropping sonic remodels from a human-like being called The Exaltics.

To celebrate Molly Nilsson’s most enduring fan-favourite album to date, Night School and Dark Skies
Association are releasing a limited 10th anniversary pressing on Red-Gold vinyl, limited to 500 copies.
Since its release in late summer of 2015, Zenith has come to be considered Nilsson’s greatest album to date. Now
on its 6th pressing, in 2025 Zenith represents the mid-point in the songwriter’s career to date and contains firm fan
favourites in Mountain Time, Happyness and her most popular song, 1995. Zenith sits square between Nilsson’s
original flurry of DIY creativity and her later, outward-looking political material.
Original sales notes…
“A sweeping, cinematic, emotional change is in the air. Molly Nilsson’s sixth studio album Zenith begins with clear,
wide eyes open to Earth as we would love it to be but seldom is. Recorded in her home of Berlin and whilst touring
and, as ever, conceived, produced, written and recorded in solitude, Zenith is Nilsson’s big statement and
consequently her most affecting work to date. It sees her reveling in big arrangements, sweeping synth strings,
bigger choruses and emotions. Like the rest of us she looks within and to endless sunsets in wonder and
puzzlement.
That Molly Nilsson is a DIY cult figure is beyond question; she has always written directly and with wit straight down
the line between the universal and the personal. The difference with Zenith, and you can hear it in the opening
chords of opener The Only Planet, is that her scope is now much wider and her heart heavier than ever before:
over a post-ecstatic dusk, Nilsson serenades the globe in a loving embrace. Following on, 1995 is, arguably, one of
Nilsson’s finest songs to date. It’s one of those songs to learn the lyrics to, to listen to on repeat, a reason to wear
the grooves down to the bone, it’s why pop music can be one of the greatest art forms we have. It’s an example of
how, on this album, Molly draws the listener closer to her heart than ever before. There’s simply no escape from the
line “The plans that you made / when you still had the time / I’ve saved all the things that you left behind but by now
I guess I’d consider them all mine /Windows 95, is only a metaphor for what I feel inside / Although I’m older now /
there’s still an emptiness that’s never letting go somehow.” Show-stopper Mountain Time is the soundtrack to being
on the run, from societal conventions, from normative ideas of happiness, from your surroundings. It’s the
intoxicating call of the renegade. That’s not to say that Nilsson’s light touch has been forsaken for grandiose
statements. Bunny Club begins as a demo-sketch before breaking into a fast-paced tale of doomed romance with
big rave synths and Bus 194 (All There Is) sees Molly joyride through a city on a happy hardcore bus. But it’s
tracks like Tomorrow and another contender for best-ever-Molly moment, Happyness that the true scale of what
she’s accomplished reveals itself. We’re locked in a spiraling orbit, strings and bass whirling, gazing at the spinning
planet below us as we contemplate both the ultimate freedom in loneliness and the glimmer of hope in the Other.
Can we ever be truly with someone? Are we ever truly alone?
Over the 13 tracks here we get the impression that Nilsson may always be restless; like anyone else she has
conflicting feelings of love and hate. It’s just not many other people can tell you exactly how you feel before you
know it yourself.

2025 Repress.
Originally released in limited formats in 2017 and having since been repressed several times, 2025 sees
a new pressing to acknowledge the enduring legacy of this recording. In 2024, the song Trees & Flowers
became an unexpected hit on Tik Tok and introduced a new generation to these timeless songs.
“1982 4-Piece Demo” is the first official, fully-licensed and unreleased material to be released under the name
Strawberry Switchblade in 30 years. Since disbanding amid major record label acrimony and personal differences
in 1986, the already-cult band have since grown in stature and legend. Trailblazers in many ways, the band’s
mythology justifiably centers around the charismatic duo of Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall, but that isn’t a
complete picture.
Bryson and McDowall’s growing friendship, having met some years earlier on the punk scene, became a creative
partnership: Bryson’s art school background and McDowall’s history in avant-punk group The Poets meant
Strawberry Switchblade was a band pitted against many established norms. The band’s very first incarnation,
an all-female 4 piece, recorded one demo at Glasgow’s Hellfire Club and played a handful of gigs. Friends
Janice Goodlett and Carole McGowan completed the line up on bass and drums respectively. Strawberry
Switchblade would eventually pair down to a duo and go on to chart success but it’s in these raw, passionate
recordings that the songwriting and vocal elements were being hammered out and explored in real time.
“Spanish Song” is a previously unreleased song. With Rose McDowall’s instantly recognizable lead vocal
dovetailing with Bryson’s harmonies and lead guitar, it’s the first glimpse at an alternative history of Strawberry
Switchblade. This incarnation could easily have been featured on a Nuggets compilation or a precursor to the indiepop revolution that would take over British bedrooms a couple of years later. Trees & Flowers is instantly
recognizable, a bona fide classic that would earn the band its first record deal. Here it’s given a more forceful rhythm
section: Goodlett and McGowan’s playing is in fact accomplished and doesn’t hint at the bands’ youth. Go Away
would also surface later on the band’s debut LP but here it is a moody-garage stomper with a psychedelic, haunting
refrain.
These 3 songs point to a tantalizing future of the band that was never realized.
Remastered and restored by Sean Pennycook from the original cassette, with artwork based on a single
photographic contact sheet (the only visual evidence of the band in this form) and with a booklet of photographs and
new text from contemporary Stephen Pastel.

4. SHORT INFO:
Simon Herody put together a live solo performance sequencing electronic devices on stage for him to jam over with acoustic instruments. He played a lot in hotels and lobbies. The music had to be present but not too intrusive. Subtle electronics to guide his saxophone and flute playing. The setup proved successful and inspired him to compose the works that would become 'Hard Lounge'.
'At the same time, I was working at a bar/record store in Neukölln called Motif. Everything changed when I discovered the album "Heisei No Oto - Japanese Left-field Pop From The CD Age." I remember this guy, Jamie, who would sometimes bring new releases to the shop. This album really changed things for me; I was constantly playing it and it inspired the creation of these works tremendously.
The composition process for "Hard Lounge" was pretty unclear. I never really made conscious choices; I wanted to escape the conflicts that come with picking the right chords. I aimed to create music that transports your imagination to a sort of retro 80s jazz lounge, where people feel comfortable and at ease just sitting and listening. I wanted to act like a music designer, giving people a chance to listen without demanding too much of their attention.'
