The NDATL label boss's remix of the Dangerfeel Newbies' "What Am I Here For" takes the soulful number to heights beyond the original's already heady groove. J'Piccola sings with a perspective that's like bopping through the city, skyscrapers above giving dimension to the groundwork so necessary for love and progression. His vocals match the pace of propelling keyboards by Chris Irvin and DelvynW. Saxophone by Quinn Mason adds an element that in Alce's Distinctive hands becomes a part of all things classic house: deep, melodic, and ultimately, free. That's particularly true of the KZR's Late Night Mix. It harkens the wee hours with a shuffle, leading keys and pinpoint bass. The Piano Instrumental puts keys front and center, with a few jazzy chords that recall the hippest, dopest brunch you've ever attended. He has run various labels over the years while releasing on some of the world's finest imprints and serving up his magical sets everywhere from fabric in London to The Avalon in Los Angeles and The Arches in Glasgow. American Osunlade meanwhile has deep spiritual roots in Yoruba traditions that are also reflected in the name of his record label. He makes music with a rare spirituality as proven once again here.
The superb 'Chocolate Puddin'' is silky smooth deep and Afro-tinged house with gorgeous percussive melodies and soft shakers. It's full of soul and warmth with meaningful leads that bring plenty of uplifting emotions next to a bluesy vocal.
Atlanta's house mainstay and a long-time underground favourite Kai Alcé then remixes. His version is more pacey but no less deep - the jazzy chords are seductively draped over the cuddly deep drums and the vocal has a more soulful edge. Osunlade also offers his own Yoruba Soul mix which is a hi-tek sound with futuristic synth chords and uplifting house drums. Last to remix is Moroccan mainstay and label regular FNX Omar. He flips the track into something that is richly layered with percussion and nimble bass, organic hand claps and hypnotic drum lines that all sink you in deep.

In any case, it’s clear that Sound Support have found its signature sound and there is much more of that to look forward to. Cinthie joins the Heist fam with an EP full of lush, epic house music with 3 originals and a St. David remix.
Cinthie is the kind of artist who seems to be everywhere all at once. In the past years, we’ve seen her compile a lush DJ Kicks compilation, release numerous EP’s on labels such as Aus music, run one of Berlin’s finest record stores (Elevate Records), tour the world fiercely, and create an all-new live show. Her EP for Heist has been in the works for a long, long time and it’s an absolute pleasure to finally present the ‘Music for Discotheques’ EP. Spoiler alert: It’s a no holds-back, ‘all killers, no fillers’ record. Just the way we like it.
In classic Cinthie fashion, this EP has the Berlin-based artist explore various sides of house music, starting with the vocal cut ‘Won’t u take me’. Lush pads, shuffling snares and a dreamy female vocal work together to bring a warm and classy house track with a clear nod to 90’s US house, but with its feet firmly rooted in the present.
Piano heaven takes you on an Italo-meets-deephouse excursion straight into…Drum roll…: Piano heaven. A driving 909 groove and a deceptively simple bass form the foundation of the track, but it’s the keys (and strings) that bring this track to its full peak-time potential. The energy in this track is of the ‘hands-in-the-air / screaming-out-loud’ type and it has already become one of the biggest tracks in Cinthie’s live-show.
On the flip, Cinthie explores the pacier electronic side of the dance spectrum, with the footwork inspired jam ‘Masterplan’. Think classic 808’s, loopy synths and a cheeky spoken word piece that lifts the song to a level where it’s extremely danceable and quite simply put; really fun.
The final track of the EP is the expertly crafted remix by Italian house maestro St. David; an artist Cinthie has always been a big fan of. He’s made a dazzling rework of ‘Piano Heaven’: A deep and driving deephouse version that’s layered in sweeps, fx and bleeps for an altogether mesmerizing effect.

Freude am Tanzen is back for a very special occasion. In 2022, three Various Artists EPs will be released, celebrating the 24th anniversary of the label from Thuringia. Whilst occasions like this would normally be celebrated on the quarter century, this release makes sense not only on the mathematical level. 3 compilations with 4 tracks provide the half of 24.
The release however also makes sense in terms of history. Freude am Tanzen is showcasing a broad range of electronic music, never neglecting their history but also looking into the future.
The last installment of the anniversary-compilation starts with the upcoming effgee reminiscing about something that’s most likely happened to everyone once or twice, packed into a classic yet fresh house track. Beautiful chords combined with a proper baseline. Sharing the A-Side with him is d.m.s., who’s production is settled somewhere between the urban and the jungle, incorporating elements of both worlds. Some groove to it, with vocals that stimulate to think!
The B-Side on this release focusses on variation. Lauer combines lush deep house vibes with some acid elements into his track ‚Janitors‘, while LoYoTo have opened their whole toolbox for their contribution. A wide array of samples and a meticious drum arrangement.

The thuringian musician is no stranger to Freude am Tanzen. Formerly part of the duo Taron Trekka, Daniel Müller-Sachs has been concentrating on his solo-project in recent years, already contributing two EP’s alongside a compilation for the label. Apart from that, he is known for his outstanding deep DJ sets.
Lauer:
Philipp Lauer is no stranger to electronic music. Having been around since over 20 years, he is known for his solo productions and remixes as well as collaborations like Tuff City Kids and Arto Mwabe. Next to being a regular on Permanent Vacation, Running Back and LARJ, Lauer also runs his own label Brontosaurus. Having produced five solo albums already, Lauer is still hungry and creative. LoYoTo:
The Berlin-Duo has also been around since a minute. DJ Cle was part of the legendary Märtini Brös and one of the first residents at Planet and E-Werk, while Eva Be has made a name for herself since 1995, releasing on Pokerflat amongst others. Freude am Tanzen is back for a very special occasion. In 2022, three Various Artists EPs will be released, celebrating the 24th anniversary of the label from Thuringia. Whilst occasions like this would normally be celebrated on the quarter century, this release makes sense not only on the mathematical level. 3 compilations with 4 tracks provide the half of 24.
The release however also makes sense in terms of history. Freude am Tanzen is showcasing a broad range of electronic music, never neglecting their history but also looking into the future.
The last installment of the anniversary-compilation starts with the upcoming effgee reminiscing about something that’s most likely happened to everyone once or twice, packed into a classic yet fresh house track. Beautiful chords combined with a proper baseline. Sharing the A-Side with him is d.m.s., who’s production is settled somewhere between the urban and the jungle, incorporating elements of both worlds. Some groove to it, with vocals that stimulate to think!
The B-Side on this release focusses on variation. Lauer combines lush deep house vibes with some acid elements into his track ‚Janitors‘, while LoYoTo have opened their whole toolbox for their contribution. A wide array of samples and a meticious drum arrangement.

effgee is an up and coming producer and DJ from Hamburg, now living in Berlin. He has gained attention not only from Freude am Tanzen, but from renowned selectors all over the world with his own imprint felice. As there are already fresh releases cooking up in his studio, we are very happy that effgee is part of this compilation. Thank you!

The thuringian musician is no stranger to Freude am Tanzen. Formerly part of the duo Taron Trekka, Daniel Müller-Sachs has been concentrating on his solo-project in recent years, already contributing two EP’s alongside a compilation for the label. Apart from that, he is known for his outstanding deep DJ sets.
Lauer:
Philipp Lauer is no stranger to electronic music. Having been around since over 20 years, he is known for his solo productions and remixes as well as collaborations like Tuff City Kids and Arto Mwabe. Next to being a regular on Permanent Vacation, Running Back and LARJ, Lauer also runs his own label Brontosaurus. Having produced five solo albums already, Lauer is still hungry and creative. We like!
LoYoTo:
The Berlin-Duo has also been around since a minute. DJ Cle was part of the legendary Märtini Brös and one of the first residents at Planet and E-Werk, while Eva Be has made a name for herself since 1995, releasing on Pokerflat amongst others. LoYoTo have released EP’s on Upon.You, Watergate Records and Foul & Sunk. Nice to have them on Freude am Tanzen.

Label mainstays Fouk just dropped the perfect dancefloor Bomb with ‘Mirage’ paired with a high-octane Elisa Bee remix
We all know Dutch duo Fouk from their soulful, bouncy take on house music. They’re also responsible for some of Heist’s biggest tracks like Kill Frenzy or their Lil Louis inspired 2021 release ‘Blue Steel’. On their new EP, the talented duo shows us a fresh side of their sound: the main-room hands-in-the-air-going-wild side. To top things off, Italian producer Elisa Bee made time in her busy schedule of DJ’ing and releasing for artists like Ben Sims on his Hardgroove imprint and Unknown to the Unknown to deliver a killer remix of the title track.
Fouk’s return to Heist after 3 years is a welcome one and with ‘Mirage’, they might just have given us their biggest house track in their decade spanning career. The track is built around a stuttering synth loop and a seductive female vocal chanting ‘What made you wanna…” The real star here is the bassline, which propels the track into a seriously infectious groove. Add some lush strings and moody changeovers and you’ve got yourself a full-blown dancefloor weapon. Mirage has been a staple in Dam Swindle’s sets for the past months and has been one of their set highlights ever since.
“Coffee” is one for the classic Fouk fans. It’s got lovely Rhodes, a joyous combination of whoo’s, snare-rolls and synth hits grooving on top of an infectious orchestral background loop. “Tapioca” is a hybrid latin-electronic groove that builds on punchy synths, live percussion and drunk keys to balance the energy of the track.
Elisa Bee’s remix of ‘Mirage’ is an intense percussive workout that builds on a breakbeat loop and a rave-bassline. The tempo is turned up a notch or 2 and that stutter synth and vocal of the original make this remix a wild warehouse affair.
Closing track of the EP is ‘Abalone’; A lovely bleep-house affair that still has a bit of that warehouse vibe. It’s got the perfect amount of distortion the drums while keeping things dreamy with some face-melting pads throughout the track.
