Paolo Aniello FKA New Digital Fidelity returns one final time since his last appearance on Italian Synth Planetarium – Sistema 1 in 2020 and readies some serious and sexy goodness for 2023.

“Gonna Touch The Sky” marks his debut on Moods & Grooves and there is no doubt that it will literally make you touch the sky! The EP opens with the reshape from none other than deep house legend Fred P. When it come to (ultra) deep house beautiness, Fred is the real don. Melodic, dreamy and groovy. Simply what you would expect from him and what he does best.

To follow is the original mix, awash in syncopated tribal rhythms, gorgeous female vocals and a rich tapestry of ethereal pad. “Gonna Touch The Sky” is a dancefloor-pleasing Afro house cut à-la Ron Trent/Trinidadian Deep featuring Sasha Paige on lead vocal and Rhia Reneè on background vocals that bubble over a deep, tribal groove.

On the flip, “Make Up Your Mind” takes tribal rhythms to a new, more mental level. It’s an Afro-Chi-meets-Detroit affair. The percussive rhythms and energy that constantly interplays with the synth line create an uplifting basement tune that could safely run at opening, peak time, or closing time. Nagano native Yoshiki Tsuchiya AKA Miruga’s roots are deeply embedded in jazz music. His studies included jazz and funk drumming as well as the catalog of the legendary Strata-East label. Miruga presents four emotionally deep cuts which fit perfectly on Moods & Grooves. Each track in the Spirit Garden EP tells a unique story as seen through the eyes of Yoshiki. Into The Zone is a plea for people of all countries to come together based on recent world events, In heaven above is a prayer for those lost in Japanese natural disasters such as the one at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The pain, sorrow, and absence of love is felt in Without Words, while Scenery in My Mind is an insight of Miruga’s dream or philosophy: don’t stop or look back, keep moving, and make things happen. If you appreciate the original spirit of what was once known as “deep house,” then you are sure to find pleasure in this offering from Miruga.

While our output in 2017 has been delayed, our pursual of quality artists persisted. Moods & Grooves welcomes Detroit area artist Jason Hogans best know for his debut EP Peter and the Rooster on Planet E. His introductory effort on M&G also features the multi-talented Paul Randolph.
"Sue" features Paul’s effortlessly awesome vocal and bass guitar talents, funky Wurlitzer chords, and chunky drums. Andre´s gives "Sue" a proper deep bounce treatment with his stomping remix. "Work The Terminals" is an animated, minor-key, wall-shaking analog bassline (ask his neighbor) & cracking drum kit with an LFO/filter-freaked sample chop chutney holding it all together on a funky house tip. Yum, y'all.
The Work The Terminals EP is inspired by Jason’s traveling and performing over the past several years and we hope it moves you.
