Summertime sounds abound on the sixth Drum Chums disc, which comes lovingly dubbed and diced by our friendly Fruit Merchant Hidden Spheres.

Known globally for his free-flowing DJ sets, halcyon house hits and mastery of melody, Tom's been at the top of his game for time now - just check those releases on Rhythm Section and Scissor & Thread - and it's a pleasure to carry his drum sticks for this one. Cracking open his vault of top secret DJ tweaks, Spheres explores sweltering proto-house, tropical disco lilt and deepest waters across three floor-ready cuts.

The Fruit Merchant plucks something ripe from the Kalimba Tree on the A side, starting the party properly with joyous Afro-house jam 'Stolen'. Carnival-friendly drums and a Boyd Jarvis bassline wind up your waist while the call-and-response vocals and exuberant brass send hands and heads skywards before the track transitions into an utterly ecstatic sax-led breakdown. This is magic.

For the B-side, Hidden Spheres treats us to a couple of deep digs from his time in Australia, both originating in the Aboriginal community.
Emerging from the astral vibrations of a didgeri-drone, 'You Better Dance' casually locks into an irresistible 105bpm groove, strolling through the echo-laced dub space as its poetic vocal speaks to your soul.
Balearic-paced and cosmic-minded, this one plays perfectly next to those I-Level 12's.

For finale 'Together', Spheres shifts back into proto-house mode, locking a hypnotic piano riff into some militant snare rolls to lay the foundation for the impassioned vocal. Back in 2015, Mancunian DJ and Producer Hidden Spheres aka Tom Harris joined the Rhythm Section
family for our twelfth release. Storming into 2022 and approaching 50 releases Tom has a long overdue return to the label with a synthesis of electronic house vibrations.

‘You Are Not Your Body’ is a stellar collection of five tracks, which touch on the sensations of euphoria
and the blissed-out intersection between early prog and Detroit House. Channeling energies for
meditation and self love, things kick off with ‘Improvisation’ an electro infused eight minute workout, whilst ‘Euan 92’ is a festival-defining ‘hands-in-the-air’ anthem tried and tested by Bradley Zero on the road throughout 2021.

Mancunian Hidden Spheres has showcased himself as one of the most innovative producers out there, releasing across the likes of Lobster Theremin, Rhythm Section International and his own imprint Fruit Merchant, all of which have been the perfect outlets for his inspiring blend of house and jazz. Church now features as the latest addition, who continue their stellar discography with 'Words Can't Explain', a collaborative EP which sees Hidden Spheres alongside singer-songwriter and guitarist, Oscar Jerome.
The collection begins with the original mix, lowering you into slick jazz guitar licks and echoing vocals, before Hidden Spheres provides a tight groove to lock around the melodies in fine form. The hybrid creation of jazz meets house binds perfectly as warm keys hang effortlessly in the air and popping guitar lines carry you onwards, supporting the sublime vocal from Oscar.

An EP that both details the multifaceted skills of one of MCR's most treasured recent upstarts whilst paying tribute to an environment that, although a million miles away from our concrete jungle, seems more relevant than ever due to the impending threat of climate change and our critical-level resource drain. Each track on "Wonders Of The Rainforest" contains samples/snippets from a 1970s documentary of the same name ‘’The tropical rain forests of the world are home to nearly half the animal species on earth - an estimated five million different life forms. More than 100 inches of rainfall each year sustain this lush environment, where some of the most fascinating examples of natural adaptation can be found. RayBone presents his sophomore solo release, this time featuring the vocal talents of Members of the House lead Bill Beaver (aka Billy Love).

Detroit Driven is one take raw groove generated from a late nite session with the pair vibing with one another, Ray on the mixing board and EQ while Bill improvises as the track grooves along.

Paolo Aniello FKA New Digital Fidelity returns one final time since his last appearance on Italian Synth Planetarium – Sistema 1 in 2020 and readies some serious and sexy goodness for 2023.

“Gonna Touch The Sky” marks his debut on Moods & Grooves and there is no doubt that it will literally make you touch the sky! The EP opens with the reshape from none other than deep house legend Fred P. When it come to (ultra) deep house beautiness, Fred is the real don. Melodic, dreamy and groovy. Simply what you would expect from him and what he does best.

To follow is the original mix, awash in syncopated tribal rhythms, gorgeous female vocals and a rich tapestry of ethereal pad. “Gonna Touch The Sky” is a dancefloor-pleasing Afro house cut à-la Ron Trent/Trinidadian Deep featuring Sasha Paige on lead vocal and Rhia Reneè on background vocals that bubble over a deep, tribal groove.

Nagano native Yoshiki Tsuchiya AKA Miruga’s roots are deeply embedded in jazz music. His studies included jazz and funk drumming as well as the catalog of the legendary Strata-East label. Miruga presents four emotionally deep cuts which fit perfectly on Moods & Grooves. Each track in the Spirit Garden EP tells a unique story as seen through the eyes of Yoshiki. Into The Zone is a plea for people of all countries to come together based on recent world events, In heaven above is a prayer for those lost in Japanese natural disasters such as the one at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The pain, sorrow, and absence of love is felt in Without Words, while Scenery in My Mind is an insight of Miruga’s dream or philosophy: don’t stop or look back, keep moving, and make things happen. While our output in 2017 has been delayed, our pursual of quality artists persisted. Moods & Grooves welcomes Detroit area artist Jason Hogans best know for his debut EP Peter and the Rooster on Planet E. His introductory effort on M&G also features the multi-talented Paul Randolph.
"Sue" features Paul’s effortlessly awesome vocal and bass guitar talents, funky Wurlitzer chords, and chunky drums. Andre´s gives "Sue" a proper deep bounce treatment with his stomping remix. "Work The Terminals" is an animated, minor-key, wall-shaking analog bassline (ask his neighbor) & cracking drum kit with an LFO/filter-freaked sample chop chutney holding it all together on a funky house tip. Yum, y'all.

Ploiesti Romania area childhood friends Andu Simion, Dan Gheorghe and Bogdan Ardeleanu are inspired by Detroit's house sound and Berlin's techno.
