"Deepness is A Way Of Life" kicks off the EP with the title very aptly describing the contents - lush deep house with a sublime piano line setting it off just right. "Melodies Of Mass Sync" is up next, with the beats having a little more pop while another backdrop of textured synths and smoky bass provide more deep house splendor. On the flip, "All I See Is Luv" continues the late night grooves, with some great vibes and gritty analog bassline blending with sweeping melodic chords and a sultry vocal snippet. "Flying" is a percussive houser than grows and grows, building on top of a great bassline as it's backbone, and surrounding that with shuffling beats and melodic chords, and then giving it a bit of a dubby overhaul for some quality late night house. On the reverse, "Jay Lee" combines a riffing guitar with a funky bassline and crisp beats on this tracky minimal groover that again has dubby touches throughout. Last up is "Seka", blending fractured shuffling beats with a dubby bassline, great organ play, and plenty of delays for a dubbed out recliner cut.

GREG STADFORD is behind the monkier Black Art who's previous production credits have included mixes of Blake Baxter's seminal 'Deep N Da Groove' ep. Nice and Jazzy the favourite cut is 'Just Groovin' a wicked blend of St Germain keys and funky organ riffs, over some skippy Detroit drums. 'Dig This' is a mellow late night journey of psychedelic horns and guitar licks with dreamy pianos floating over the top. 'Sweet' is more on a broken jazz tip with live drums and a cute vocal snip that dubs itself over the rhodes bed. The production quality of this ep is stunning. Very strong stuff from M & G!

Moods & Grooves proudly introduces Cape Town’s Tshepang Mokoko aka LoopZ The Maestro.
Raised in a musical family, he was exposed to several genres of music including jazz, soulful house, hip hop, and deep house. A temporary move to Johannesburg focused his lens on deep house as it was the dominant genre. Influenced by AtJazz, Black Coffee, Culoe De Song among others, he spent time in the studio developing his own sound. Positive feedback from early demos fueled his passion to pursue music full time and finally, it’s ready for release.
