Key Selling Points
The mighty Man Power returns to Correspondant. One of the earliest labels to champion his explorative technoid landscapes, and deliver his debut album, the Mexico based composer makes a welcome return with three truly singular trips…
‘The Zen Of Xen’ comes in two segued parts, comprising almost 13 minutes of full intergalactic immersion. Laced with the alluring deep-dream vocals of Tel Aviv’s Xen, anchored with tripped-out humanized harmonics and weaved with soaring pads, it’s a genuinely emotional narrative that’s been cooking away on Man Power’s creative wishlist since he first met Xen at a show five years ago.
Elsewhere ‘Heart For Yes, Life For No’ will have you spitting rainbow emojis all night. An incredible piece of vibrant melodic techno rooted in synthesis, galvanized with emotive layers, driven by feels it sets us up perfectly for the fantastical finale ‘Hubris’. Cosmic, soft-focused, sparkling but topped with a choral chant that comes in from nowhere and arrests every sense as the elements rise and fuse with theatre.
By far one of Man Power’s most techno-focused and biggest records to date.

Man Power - We Trawl The Hurts (Deetron Bleep Tool)
Man Power debuts on Rekids with ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ ft Louisahhh. The duo’s first collaboration, a huge spoken vocal house cut, comes alongside three interpretations from Deetron.
DJ, producer, promoter, composer, and cultural agitator Man Power makes his debut on Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ featuring Louisahhh on 12th April. The first fruits of a long-term friendship see Man Power (Me Me Me/Throne of Blood/Optimo) serving up a stomping, big-room cut that tips its hat to late-90s NY house and serves as a bed for the inimitable Louisahhh’s (RAAR) breathy vocal delivery of classic Prefab Sprout lyrics.
An intimate, spoken-word vocal from Louisahh weaves through a world of vibrant pads and chords. The gorgeous lyricism of their ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ is underpinned by an uplifting and emotive swirl of melody and a rock-steady beat. Man Power’s love of Murk and Tenaglia shines through.
The evergreen Deetron delivers three versions of ‘We Trawl The Hurt’s ft Louisahhh’: a remix that flips the original into a thumping deep techno cut featuring loopy synths and pixelated leads, a stripped-back and powerful dub, and his DJ tool ‘drum and bass’, built for those who like to mix. More

A release that doesn't bow to genre conventions, deeply emotional at its core. Sometimes cinematic, often infectious, and always loosening limbs on the dance floor. This is Man Power music.

Man Power - Do It Thin feat. Private Agenda (instrumental)
Influential UK artist Man Power makes his Skint Records debut this December with a thrilling new offering featuring Berlin’s Private Agenda. Man Power is a true electronic virtuoso who has proven he can do searing acid, raw techno and expressive disco with equal elan. As well as running his own Me Me Me labels, he has appeared on top outlets like ESP Institute and Correspondent and now impresses once again with the help of Berlin’s Private Agenda. The electric original version of ‘Do It Thin’ is an intense and steamy affair with Eurobeat synths and Italo piano chords that are sure to make a huge impression on the crowd. Vocals that Bronski Beat would be proud of soar to the heavens and get hands in the air whilst the hard hitting drums drive things forward. Dramatic chords build the suspense, leading you towards an epic, guitar laden breakdown with well sequenced synths adding weight and colour. Edgy and expressive, it is a real stomper with a fusion of myriad different styles. An instrumental version is also supplied that removes the vocal and allows the studio skills and musicianship to really shine, this was a showstopper in Man Power’s recent Boiler Room set and it not to be missed. Man Power marks his Skint debut here with the same sense of timelessness and quality that has defined his career to date.

man power - Poly Pop
The ‘Vista’ EP caps off an intensely busy year for Geoff Kirkwood, otherwise known as Man Power. The British DJ/producer has become quite the ‘tour de force’ in 2018, with releases and remixes for Futureboogie, DFA, Correspondant, Exotic Series, Skint Records, and his very own Me Me Me imprint. So it seems quite fitting to seal a productive 12 months with a release on Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two, a label that itself has been firing out big releases this year from EJECA, Jansons & Senzala and Ahmed himself. And joining this big end of year party, enter stage left, Roman Flu¨gel, who delivers an absolutely stellar remix of ‘Vista’. Meaty synths and clattering 909 drums are doused in futuristic Italo disco vibes for ‘Outrider’, whilst a winning combo of breakbeats and acid affected bass provide the backbone of the simply gargantuan ‘Vista’. Roman Flu¨gel’s interpretation of the title track brings the break to the fore, playfully teasing out the acidic sounds and surging strings for another truly memorable remix that we’ve come to expect from Mr. Flu¨gel. Closing the EP, ‘Poly Pop’ delivers a vivid and bright burst of melody over clanking percussion and sturdy beats, filled with ‘end of the night’ optimism that’s become Man Power’s forte.

Me Me Me is two… and in keeping with the name it seemed that I had no choice but to put out what is only my second ever release on my own label since launching with the debut release “Tachyon” back in 2016.
(It’s also the labels 13th release too. Spooooooky) So here it is, a double A Side... Side A is “Valhalla” which attempts to be as majestic as the name suggests. Side AA has “Fidelity", which is me channelling big room house as much as I can, while trying to keep ahold of whatever heart strings I can tug on. I’ll let you judge if I’ve achieved what I’d set to do with either. More

Man Power his raw electronic sound, organic flourishes and diverse selection make him a perfect match for DGTL, both on stage as well as on the imprint. Next to releasing a steady flow of records on established labels like ESP Institute, Optimo Trax, Correspondant and Hivern Discs, Man Power is running his own shop as well: Me Me Me. This gives him an outlet to release music by both friends and himself. For his release on DGTL Records he created a three-track EP called Apologue EP, that showcases just two of different sides of his multi-faceted musical scope. The a-side features two firm, acid influenced tracks. The first of these two, The Duelist, is an emotive house record, with a soundscape of piano melodies, synths and syncopated percussion laid on top of an acid bassline. El Mago del Tiempo features heavy hitting kicks combined with a sharp synth pattern. It has a long build up that keeps evolving throughout the entire composition. Halfway through, the track breaks in to a raw and fierce rhythm accompanied by yearning, drawn-out synth pads. On the flipside, Put Your Hands on the Car (And Get Ready To Die) brings back memories of a long gone past with nods to Balearic Pop, EBM, and the Soundtrack work of Stewart Copeland, James Horner, and Jan Hammer. This multi layered production has a warm and analogue sounding feel to it that rounds off a 3 dimensional release.

Newcastle-born, Mexico-based Man Power debuts on Optimo Trax with two psychasonic missives cut extra loud for optimum sound system performance. We asked Man Power for some words about this release and he told us - "Both tracks sound different, but they're both from the same place in as much as they represent a conscious effort by me to strip back some of unnecessary niceties in my music and really sharpen my focus on what makes people dance without crossing the fine line of what makes me sound like me.

Correspondant can finally reveal the release of the remixes for Man Power’s debut LP, which was released last year on Correspondant. A year in the making, the remix package features artists and friends hand-picked by both Jennifer Cardini and Man Power himself. Disco Halal’s Moscoman remixes the baggy splendour of Beilsteiner, creating a rolling and belching extended opus more focused toward the peak time dance floor. Hivern Disc’s JMII takes Hunting Swan and turns it inside out, exploring space with a cerebral, schizophrenic quality. Alternatively, Pale Blue (Mike Simonetti) takes Boys Beware and re-imagines it as an aggressive drum workout. Completing the package, Suade, the artist who also mastered the original album, replaces TEN’s balearic leanings with an IDM sensibility, yet still retains the optimism of the original track. All 4 remixes manage to exist as distinct works in their own right, while paying homage to the "magpie" approach of the original long player.

man power - Tachyon (DJ Tennis Remix)
Born and raised in Newcastle in the UK, Man Power is now embedded in the depths of Mexico in Monterrey, a city on the rise after many years of internal strife. This unique new perspective and observations while on the road as a touring DJ has given Man Power the impetus to launch his new label entitled Me Me Me with his own production ‘Tachyon’ paired with a remix from DJ Tennis. “It stands to reason that if I’m calling my new label project Me Me Me, then I should be the one doing the talking. Deejaying has to contain a bit of selfishness, as it’s all about playing the music that you love, and other people listening. It’s a simple step to go from choosing the music in a club, to choosing music for a record label.’ ‘There currently seems to be a movement of artists forming who are indefinable past the vague limits of their own persona and varied musical mores. I'd like to think I'm part of this movement, so this is my attempt at exploring that concept. I'm trying to work with people who also represent this new popularity in artistic freedom.’ Following releases will feature Axel Boman, Red Axes, Mike Simmonetti, Chida, Fort Romeau, Hammer, Rex The Dog, Daniel Maloso, Last Waltz, James Hadfield (as Elizabeth Collective) and of course Man Power.

man power - The Tourist
2
man power - Oye
Man Power left his Northern home and ran south of the border. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. On side A, he proves that he truly is The Tourist, delivering what we’re already toting as our Summer anthem—a relentless hurricane drum pattern full of toms, timbales and splashes that lays the rhythmic foundation for his Pacific chords and euphoric melodies–an undeniable floor-filler that invites all to dance unencumbered by the constraints of “functional” club music. With side B’s Oye, Man Power rolls out a similarly vibrant combination of drums and rhythm, however he toughens up the aesthetic with a massive rolling acid bassline, only briefly letting up for a spot of layered marimbas and spriteful pads before culminating in an emotional finale. After spending a couple years churning out tracks for various labels around the world, Man Power has undoubtably shifted his narrative point-of-view and updated his sense of craft upon his induction to the ESP Institute. These two songs will throw a wrench in your holiday.

Inspired by subversive communities, all pulling together for a greater cause, his background in underground parties can be felt in everything he's done so far: his work with the Ancient Future Now label, his vast imaginative techno constructions and now his work with Jennifer Cardini's long-standing community Correspondant with the widescreen odyssey that is 'Chorus'

Making himself known with three soul surging originals; FiberRoot's spell-binding aesthetic and diverse palette complements Jennifer Cardini's label perfectly as it taps deep into most rudimental electronic foundations.
'Suddenly' sets the agenda: teaming up with OG maestro Dino Lenny, the title tracks hits with authentic blasts of Italo romance and rich analog craft. 'Echo Silent' follows suit with more of a droning, loopy, wall-of-sound surge of introspective hypnosis while 'Looking From The Outside' hits with more a clash-style feeling thanks to its loose drums and sweaty throbbing electro bassline.
Remix-wise Glasgow's MR TC goes Nordic with his mystic refix of 'Echo Silent' while Jonathan Kusuma takes 'Suddenly' to deeper, darker, driving places. Three arresting originals, two immaculate versions; 'Suddenly' is a landmark release for this exciting enigmatic man. We suspect he'll be corresponding with us again very soon….

Charmingly balmy, harmonic and hypnotic; this is the sound of Yovav bathing us in a gilded sonic sunset. Well… It's not called 'Caribbean Zen Mode' for nothing,
Remix-wise we're in for a treat as Tuff City Kid Gerd Janson lays down a delicious hip-swaying Balearic version. Delicately layered with glistening guitars, chimes, harps and a rolling percussive groove that opens up into a broken swing while the steady kick matches the slinky, sultry bass notes, it comes complete with its own bonus drum groove for added deep mix creativity.
Inner peace found, zen mode activated. Thank you Yovav.

A1. Take Control (Original)
A2. Take Control (Simple Symmetry Remix)
B1. Last Gun (Original)
B2. Last Gun (INIT Remix)
Hot on the heels of their role on Correspondant Compilation Five, Mexican maestros Zombies In Miami return to Jennifer Cardini's label once again this summer with two supreme space-aged head jams.
Following recent disco excursions on Hippie Dance and Bordello A Parigi, the duo retreat to the shadier, heavyweight side of their signature with 'Take Control' and 'Last Gun'.
'Take Control' is a glacial creeper laced with frosty electroid synths and a smouldering hypnotic beat while 'Last Gun' firms our focus on the looming lower tones, creating an ominous fog for the sunlight arpeggios to climb through evocatively. Complete with on-point remixes from the Lipsky brothers' Simple Symmetry and Benedikt Frey & Nadia D'Alo's INIT project, this will have you taking control for a long time to come.

Something special: Frenchman Sebastien Bouchet is launching his brand-new Sebastopol project. New name, same deliciously deviant electronica: his debut is compiled with serious detail and a cool coherency of humanised textures, trippiness and barbed, shadowy soul. ‘Assassin’ shoots to kill with its pranged-out toplines, gloriously wonked-out bass hooked and slurred vocal elements while ‘Manethon’ trips out on a broken note and melts into one of Sebastien’s most magically far-out breakdowns to date. The remixers echo his unique creativity with two suberb versions: Alessandro Adriani whips up dense layers of psychedelic tech on ‘Assassin’, while Privacy adds a gritty physical crunch to ‘Manethon’. Bringing the whole package together with a range that will resonate with all corners, this signs the start of a whole new chapter for Sebastopol. We can’t wait to hear what he brings next.

die wilde jagd - Drachenfels
Raunachte huntsmen Die Wilde Jagd return to Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant. Previously spotted on the label’s far-reaching ‘Compilation 4’ album earlier this year, the duo ride back into town with two more chilling tales. Building on the immersive, otherworldly scenes they’ve painted on Bureau B – including last year’s self-titled album – the duo, comprising Ralf Beck and Sebastian Lee Philipp, continue to paint lavish landscape scenery with thick oil paint synthesis
‘Geisterfahrer’ (translating to wrong-way driver or ghost driver) is all about the anticipation. The second those introductory cymbals splash and the sinewy synth bass texture start to loop there’s an overwhelming sense of drama and suspense that pays off with every detailed ingredient. We hurtle through the night to the sound of ‘Drachenfels’. As its name suggests, it’s a mountainous sonic hike which surges higher and higher into the clouds. Bar by bar, ripple by ripple the scenery and physicality grows with a sense of triumph as more elements are added. Reaching the summit the moment the beats finally kick in.
It’s down to DFA’s Factory Floor to close this vast atmospheric scene with a remix. And they do so with a beautifully blunt electro twist where chunky 909 drums punch a slo-mo break while immense dubby washes of drums scatter down across the analogue groove with a kilter-teasing defiance. A fittingly brazen contrast to the cinematica conjured by Beck and Philipp. More

Label owner Jennifer Cardini has invited a cavalcade of Correspondant’s core family (Man Power, Red Axes, Javi Redondo, Doll Kraut), closest collaborators (Axel Boman Boruisade), and newest friends (Chida, Yovav, Dollkraut, Kiwi, Jonathan Kusuma, Autarkic) to show the world that Correspondant has a synthetic heart of punk which pumps glacial disco through its frozen veins.

Romanian born, and Berlin Based, Borusiade (aka Miruna Boruzescu) makes her Correspondant debut in dazzlingly bleak fashion. Over a four track EP the artist manages to channel a wealth of disparate sounds, referencing Giallo disco, New Wave longing and Pitched-down ghetto techno amongst other dark and otherworldly tropes. All of the music on offer here possesses a slow and dark drive that purposes it for the dance floor, but also contain such a wealth of loss despair, and a perverse pathos that elevates them from simple dance music and move them in to a more artistic realm.

Correspondant 40 was born in 2012 with the first ever meeting of Benoit Gagnon and Massimiliano Pagliara. Benoit initially sent the tracks that now form the "In Spirals" EP to Massimiliano for nothing more than feedback. However Massi felt so inspired by the music that he felt compelled to add his personal analogue touch. Opening track ‚In Spirals' is an unabashed ode to funked up baselines and sparkling Italo melodies. ‚Agamous' pulls us in to sensual acid territory by taking 808 beats and 303 beeps into unchartered sexy locales. ‚Go South' continues the sexed up and synthy motif, and throws some electricised jungle drumming into the mix, making this the most intense and darkest track on the EP. ‚Don't Push Me', begins its journey with a more grooving disco percussion line and then heaps on some Chicago pads, ultimately blossoming into a full blown hands-in-the-air synth-exercise.

max jones - L.M.M
Coming from the traffic-saturated streets and lo-fi screamo scene of Mexico City, rising producer Max Jones makes his debut on Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant label with the Cornetto EP. A onetime member of a guitar-driven punk posse, Jones' more recent work as an electronic producer favors heavily syncopated drums, eerie atmospheres, and wry humor. His discography to date includes a recent joint EP with Eddie Mercury as Los Mekanikos for Sanfuentes, the imprint headed by Chilean producer and Cómeme label co-founder Vicente Sanfuentes, and he also helped initiate Mexican labels Electrique Music and Disque Discos, together with Mercury and Alec Sander (appearing on Cornetto as Mijo). Jones' upcoming effort marks Correspondant's 30th release, and comprises four tracks of drum machine-led workouts. Lead cut "Cornetto" starts things off in the label's signature style of deep, dark dancefloor warmups, with a live-feel percussive line and foggy drones shot through with confrontational midrange sirens. "Uh Oh" opens at a clip with an electrified, alien pulse, but keeps to the stripped-back core elements of thrashing cymbals and two alternating vocal samples. "Slow feat. Mijo" finds Jones teaming up with ongoing collaborator Alec Sander in a sinister, new wave-inspired cut, built around a narcotic vocal mantra and resonant, oscillating synths, while the minimal, throbbing bassline of "L.M.M" follows its own trail into a sonic wormhole, offset by crispy hi-hats to round out the EP.
