Hamburg-based Mireia Records is ecstatic to
announce their thirteenth release: Julian
Stetter’s “Sensual EP”.
You’ve probably crossed paths with Julian in the
last couple of years. Not only because he’s the
tallest guy in Cologne, but the producer and DJ
has been actively shaping modern dance music
with his flourishing, melancholic sound. He’s
been releasing music with Permanent Vacation,
Kompakt, Correspondent and hometown labels
Ancient Future Now and PNN.

It’s also not his first time on Mireia Records. Remember the beautiful “Porto” on “We’ll Sea
Pt.1?” Here, Julian presents two original tracks which are reinterpreted by SONNS and Matt
Karmil.
The title track “ Sensual ” manages to erase the mundane, the world’s vanishing around you.
It’s pitched shaker and airy bells evoke introspective tones. The bassline on the other hand
keep you steady - the dancefloor is still visible through the clouds!
“ Rumors ” picks up the pace. Kick drum and syncopated hi-hats set the stage for a serious
bassline, interwoven with fleeting melodies.
Bright and euphoric brushstrokes from Julian’s synth elevate the pace and catapult the track
towards a crescendo. Booming snares signal the peak.

SONNS opens up the B side with the first remix by whispering “ Rumors ” in your ear. A
brooding bass line takes you on a trip to the dark corners of the city. Hypnotically chugging
toms highlight the sights. Let’s get lost tonight!
With his releases on Kompakt and strong DJ Sets SONNS’ been a long time favored entrant
into Mireia Record’s catalogue.
Matt Karmil’s version of 'Sensual', although on B2 of the vinyl, doesn’t hide its assets.
Kicking off with frantic high hats and a distorted glitch, he pushes the track forwards
intriguingly. Arpeggiated melodies layered supremely over the percussion drive the track
forwards, the simplicity of the track and sharp cuts and drops create an interesting dynamic
to the single creating a perfect juxtapose to the other tracks on the release.
Matt’s also been on Mireia’s radar for a long time. His atmospheric adventures for Studio
Barnhus, Smalltown Supersound or Beats in Space always convey a spirit of living, breathing
leeway.

‘The Zen Of Xen’ comes in two segued parts, comprising almost 13 minutes of full intergalactic immersion. Laced with the alluring deep-dream vocals of Tel Aviv’s Xen, anchored with tripped-out humanized harmonics and weaved with soaring pads, it’s a genuinely emotional narrative that’s been cooking away on Man Power’s creative wishlist since he first met Xen at a show five years ago.

Elsewhere ‘Heart For Yes, Life For No’ will have you spitting rainbow emojis all night. An incredible piece of vibrant melodic techno rooted in synthesis, galvanized with emotive layers, driven by feels it sets us up perfectly for the fantastical finale ‘Hubris’. Cosmic, soft-focused, sparkling but topped with a choral chant that comes in from nowhere and arrests every sense as the elements rise and fuse with theatre.

By far one of Man Power’s most techno-focused and biggest records to date.

Last seen baring his musical soul on Maceo Plex's Ellum, innovative Valencian artist FiberRoot now makes his debut on Correspondant. Making himself known with three soul surging originals; FiberRoot's spell-binding aesthetic and diverse palette complements Jennifer Cardini's label perfectly as it taps deep into most rudimental electronic foundations.

'Suddenly' sets the agenda: teaming up with OG maestro Dino Lenny, the title tracks hits with authentic blasts of Italo romance and rich analog craft. 'Echo Silent' follows suit with more of a droning, loopy, wall-of-sound surge of introspective hypnosis while 'Looking From The Outside' hits with more a clash-style feeling thanks to its loose drums and sweaty throbbing electro bassline.

Remix-wise Glasgow's MR TC goes Nordic with his mystic refix of 'Echo Silent' while Jonathan Kusuma takes 'Suddenly' to deeper, darker, driving places. Three arresting originals, two immaculate versions; 'Suddenly' is a landmark release for this exciting enigmatic man. We suspect he'll be corresponding with us again very soon….

Delicately layered with glistening guitars, chimes, harps and a rolling percussive groove that opens up into a broken swing while the steady kick matches the slinky, sultry bass notes, it comes complete with its own bonus drum groove for added deep mix creativity.

Hot on the heels of their role on Correspondant Compilation Five, Mexican maestros Zombies In Miami return to Jennifer Cardini's label once again this summer with two supreme space-aged head jams.

Following recent disco excursions on Hippie Dance and Bordello A Parigi, the duo retreat to the shadier, heavyweight side of their signature with 'Take Control' and 'Last Gun'.

'Take Control' is a glacial creeper laced with frosty electroid synths and a smouldering hypnotic beat while 'Last Gun' firms our focus on the looming lower tones, creating an ominous fog for the sunlight arpeggios to climb through evocatively. Complete with on-point remixes from the Lipsky brothers' Simple Symmetry and Benedikt Frey & Nadia D'Alo's INIT project, this will have you taking control for a long time to come.

Something special: Frenchman Sebastien Bouchet is launching his brand-new Sebastopol project. New name, same deliciously deviant electronica: his debut is compiled with serious detail and a cool coherency of humanised textures, trippiness and barbed, shadowy soul. ‘Assassin’ shoots to kill with its pranged-out toplines, gloriously wonked-out bass hooked and slurred vocal elements while ‘Manethon’ trips out on a broken note and melts into one of Sebastien’s most magically far-out breakdowns to date. The remixers echo his unique creativity with two suberb versions: Alessandro Adriani whips up dense layers of psychedelic tech on ‘Assassin’, while Privacy adds a gritty physical crunch to ‘Manethon’. Bringing the whole package together with a range that will resonate with all corners, this signs the start of a whole new chapter for Sebastopol. We can’t wait to hear what he brings next. More

Raunachte huntsmen Die Wilde Jagd return to Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant. Previously spotted on the label’s far-reaching ‘Compilation 4’ album earlier this year, the duo ride back into town with two more chilling tales. Building on the immersive, otherworldly scenes they’ve painted on Bureau B – including last year’s self-titled album – the duo, comprising Ralf Beck and Sebastian Lee Philipp, continue to paint lavish landscape scenery with thick oil paint synthesis
‘Geisterfahrer’ (translating to wrong-way driver or ghost driver) is all about the anticipation. The second those introductory cymbals splash and the sinewy synth bass texture start to loop there’s an overwhelming sense of drama and suspense that pays off with every detailed ingredient. We hurtle through the night to the sound of ‘Drachenfels’. As its name suggests, it’s a mountainous sonic hike which surges higher and higher into the clouds. Bar by bar, ripple by ripple the scenery and physicality grows with a sense of triumph as more elements are added. Reaching the summit the moment the beats finally kick in.
It’s down to DFA’s Factory Floor to close this vast atmospheric scene with a remix. And they do so with a beautifully blunt electro twist where chunky 909 drums punch a slo-mo break while immense dubby washes of drums scatter down across the analogue groove with a kilter-teasing defiance. A fittingly brazen contrast to the cinematica conjured by Beck and Philipp. More

Correspondant 40 was born in 2012 with the first ever meeting of Benoit Gagnon and Massimiliano Pagliara. Benoit initially sent the tracks that now form the "In Spirals" EP to Massimiliano for nothing more than feedback. However Massi felt so inspired by the music that he felt compelled to add his personal analogue touch. Opening track ‚In Spirals' is an unabashed ode to funked up baselines and sparkling Italo melodies. ‚Agamous' pulls us in to sensual acid territory by taking 808 beats and 303 beeps into unchartered sexy locales. ‚Go South' continues the sexed up and synthy motif, and throws some electricised jungle drumming into the mix, making this the most intense and darkest track on the EP. ‚Don't Push Me', begins its journey with a more grooving disco percussion line and then heaps on some Chicago pads, ultimately blossoming into a full blown hands-in-the-air synth-exercise.
