man power - Poly Pop
The ‘Vista’ EP caps off an intensely busy year for Geoff Kirkwood, otherwise known as Man Power. The British DJ/producer has become quite the ‘tour de force’ in 2018, with releases and remixes for Futureboogie, DFA, Correspondant, Exotic Series, Skint Records, and his very own Me Me Me imprint. So it seems quite fitting to seal a productive 12 months with a release on Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two, a label that itself has been firing out big releases this year from EJECA, Jansons & Senzala and Ahmed himself. And joining this big end of year party, enter stage left, Roman Flu¨gel, who delivers an absolutely stellar remix of ‘Vista’. Meaty synths and clattering 909 drums are doused in futuristic Italo disco vibes for ‘Outrider’, whilst a winning combo of breakbeats and acid affected bass provide the backbone of the simply gargantuan ‘Vista’. Roman Flu¨gel’s interpretation of the title track brings the break to the fore, playfully teasing out the acidic sounds and surging strings for another truly memorable remix that we’ve come to expect from Mr. Flu¨gel. Closing the EP, ‘Poly Pop’ delivers a vivid and bright burst of melody over clanking percussion and sturdy beats, filled with ‘end of the night’ optimism that’s become Man Power’s forte.

Man Power - We Trawl The Hurts (Deetron Bleep Tool)
Man Power debuts on Rekids with ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ ft Louisahhh. The duo’s first collaboration, a huge spoken vocal house cut, comes alongside three interpretations from Deetron.
DJ, producer, promoter, composer, and cultural agitator Man Power makes his debut on Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ featuring Louisahhh on 12th April. The first fruits of a long-term friendship see Man Power (Me Me Me/Throne of Blood/Optimo) serving up a stomping, big-room cut that tips its hat to late-90s NY house and serves as a bed for the inimitable Louisahhh’s (RAAR) breathy vocal delivery of classic Prefab Sprout lyrics.
An intimate, spoken-word vocal from Louisahh weaves through a world of vibrant pads and chords. The gorgeous lyricism of their ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ is underpinned by an uplifting and emotive swirl of melody and a rock-steady beat. Man Power’s love of Murk and Tenaglia shines through.
The evergreen Deetron delivers three versions of ‘We Trawl The Hurt’s ft Louisahhh’: a remix that flips the original into a thumping deep techno cut featuring loopy synths and pixelated leads, a stripped-back and powerful dub, and his DJ tool ‘drum and bass’, built for those who like to mix. More

Man Power - Do It Thin feat. Private Agenda (instrumental)
Influential UK artist Man Power makes his Skint Records debut this December with a thrilling new offering featuring Berlin’s Private Agenda. Man Power is a true electronic virtuoso who has proven he can do searing acid, raw techno and expressive disco with equal elan. As well as running his own Me Me Me labels, he has appeared on top outlets like ESP Institute and Correspondent and now impresses once again with the help of Berlin’s Private Agenda. The electric original version of ‘Do It Thin’ is an intense and steamy affair with Eurobeat synths and Italo piano chords that are sure to make a huge impression on the crowd. Vocals that Bronski Beat would be proud of soar to the heavens and get hands in the air whilst the hard hitting drums drive things forward. Dramatic chords build the suspense, leading you towards an epic, guitar laden breakdown with well sequenced synths adding weight and colour. Edgy and expressive, it is a real stomper with a fusion of myriad different styles. An instrumental version is also supplied that removes the vocal and allows the studio skills and musicianship to really shine, this was a showstopper in Man Power’s recent Boiler Room set and it not to be missed. Man Power marks his Skint debut here with the same sense of timelessness and quality that has defined his career to date.

Me Me Me is two… and in keeping with the name it seemed that I had no choice but to put out what is only my second ever release on my own label since launching with the debut release “Tachyon” back in 2016.
(It’s also the labels 13th release too. Spooooooky) So here it is, a double A Side... Side A is “Valhalla” which attempts to be as majestic as the name suggests. Side AA has “Fidelity", which is me channelling big room house as much as I can, while trying to keep ahold of whatever heart strings I can tug on. I’ll let you judge if I’ve achieved what I’d set to do with either. More

B2. Hubris (06:42)
Key Selling Points
The mighty Man Power returns to Correspondant. One of the earliest labels to champion his explorative technoid landscapes, and deliver his debut album, the Mexico based composer makes a welcome return with three truly singular trips…
‘The Zen Of Xen’ comes in two segued parts, comprising almost 13 minutes of full intergalactic immersion. Laced with the alluring deep-dream vocals of Tel Aviv’s Xen, anchored with tripped-out humanized harmonics and weaved with soaring pads, it’s a genuinely emotional narrative that’s been cooking away on Man Power’s creative wishlist since he first met Xen at a show five years ago.
Elsewhere ‘Heart For Yes, Life For No’ will have you spitting rainbow emojis all night. An incredible piece of vibrant melodic techno rooted in synthesis, galvanized with emotive layers, driven by feels it sets us up perfectly for the fantastical finale ‘Hubris’. Cosmic, soft-focused, sparkling but topped with a choral chant that comes in from nowhere and arrests every sense as the elements rise and fuse with theatre.
By far one of Man Power’s most techno-focused and biggest records to date.

man power - Put Your Hands On The Car (And Get Ready To Die)
Man Power his raw electronic sound, organic flourishes and diverse selection make him a perfect match for DGTL, both on stage as well as on the imprint. Next to releasing a steady flow of records on established labels like ESP Institute, Optimo Trax, Correspondant and Hivern Discs, Man Power is running his own shop as well: Me Me Me. This gives him an outlet to release music by both friends and himself. For his release on DGTL Records he created a three-track EP called Apologue EP, that showcases just two of different sides of his multi-faceted musical scope. The a-side features two firm, acid influenced tracks. The first of these two, The Duelist, is an emotive house record, with a soundscape of piano melodies, synths and syncopated percussion laid on top of an acid bassline. El Mago del Tiempo features heavy hitting kicks combined with a sharp synth pattern. It has a long build up that keeps evolving throughout the entire composition. Halfway through, the track breaks in to a raw and fierce rhythm accompanied by yearning, drawn-out synth pads. On the flipside, Put Your Hands on the Car (And Get Ready To Die) brings back memories of a long gone past with nods to Balearic Pop, EBM, and the Soundtrack work of Stewart Copeland, James Horner, and Jan Hammer. This multi layered production has a warm and analogue sounding feel to it that rounds off a 3 dimensional release.

Newcastle-born, Mexico-based Man Power debuts on Optimo Trax with two psychasonic missives cut extra loud for optimum sound system performance. We asked Man Power for some words about this release and he told us - "Both tracks sound different, but they're both from the same place in as much as they represent a conscious effort by me to strip back some of unnecessary niceties in my music and really sharpen my focus on what makes people dance without crossing the fine line of what makes me sound like me.

Correspondant can finally reveal the release of the remixes for Man Power’s debut LP, which was released last year on Correspondant. A year in the making, the remix package features artists and friends hand-picked by both Jennifer Cardini and Man Power himself. Disco Halal’s Moscoman remixes the baggy splendour of Beilsteiner, creating a rolling and belching extended opus more focused toward the peak time dance floor. Hivern Disc’s JMII takes Hunting Swan and turns it inside out, exploring space with a cerebral, schizophrenic quality. Alternatively, Pale Blue (Mike Simonetti) takes Boys Beware and re-imagines it as an aggressive drum workout. Completing the package, Suade, the artist who also mastered the original album, replaces TEN’s balearic leanings with an IDM sensibility, yet still retains the optimism of the original track. All 4 remixes manage to exist as distinct works in their own right, while paying homage to the "magpie" approach of the original long player.

man power - Tachyon (DJ Tennis Remix)
Born and raised in Newcastle in the UK, Man Power is now embedded in the depths of Mexico in Monterrey, a city on the rise after many years of internal strife. This unique new perspective and observations while on the road as a touring DJ has given Man Power the impetus to launch his new label entitled Me Me Me with his own production ‘Tachyon’ paired with a remix from DJ Tennis. “It stands to reason that if I’m calling my new label project Me Me Me, then I should be the one doing the talking. Deejaying has to contain a bit of selfishness, as it’s all about playing the music that you love, and other people listening. It’s a simple step to go from choosing the music in a club, to choosing music for a record label.’ ‘There currently seems to be a movement of artists forming who are indefinable past the vague limits of their own persona and varied musical mores. I'd like to think I'm part of this movement, so this is my attempt at exploring that concept. I'm trying to work with people who also represent this new popularity in artistic freedom.’ Following releases will feature Axel Boman, Red Axes, Mike Simmonetti, Chida, Fort Romeau, Hammer, Rex The Dog, Daniel Maloso, Last Waltz, James Hadfield (as Elizabeth Collective) and of course Man Power.

man power - Oye
Man Power left his Northern home and ran south of the border. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. On side A, he proves that he truly is The Tourist, delivering what we’re already toting as our Summer anthem—a relentless hurricane drum pattern full of toms, timbales and splashes that lays the rhythmic foundation for his Pacific chords and euphoric melodies–an undeniable floor-filler that invites all to dance unencumbered by the constraints of “functional” club music. With side B’s Oye, Man Power rolls out a similarly vibrant combination of drums and rhythm, however he toughens up the aesthetic with a massive rolling acid bassline, only briefly letting up for a spot of layered marimbas and spriteful pads before culminating in an emotional finale. After spending a couple years churning out tracks for various labels around the world, Man Power has undoubtably shifted his narrative point-of-view and updated his sense of craft upon his induction to the ESP Institute. These two songs will throw a wrench in your holiday.

lovehrtz - Burning Up (K’Alexi Shelby Remix)
LoveHrtz bounce back onto Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two label with a bumper release, brining together two original tracks and remixes from Chicago house don, K’Alexi Shelby, and rising star, Seb Zito. ‘Crazy About Your Love’ is a euphoric and hyperactive house track; a Marshall Jefferson-esque piano riff hammers over a pacey groove and classic strings augment the sense of drama in this dramatic vocal track. Seb Zito (FUSE/Edible) provides two remixes here; ‘Remix 1’ pairs quirky organ stabs and a bubbling acid motif with chopped up vocals, whilst ‘Remix 2’ takes a darker route, reminiscent of Sound Factory era NYC house, with a decidedly dubbier and sleazier take on the original. In their original mix of ‘Burning Up’, LoveHrtz deliver more top notch, classic house vibes, with a frenetic and bouncing club heater. Relentless bells, a seductive saxophone riff and a roof-raising vocal, a future classic this does make! House music royalty, in the shape of K’Alexi Shelby, graces Four Thirty Two with his musical presence, remixing ‘Burning Up’ into an everlasting (well, just shy of 10 minutes) slice of pure disco heaven. With a musical curriculum vitae that has contributed to pivotal labels like Trax, DJ International, Djax-Up-Beats, and countless more, K’Alexi sprinkles huge handfuls of feel-good factor over his version of ‘Burning Up’, topping off a huge release package from Four Thirty Two

The Belfast based DJ & producer, Garry McCartney, otherwise known as EJECA, has been steadily and consistently building his sound and profile over time, through a series of impressive releases for Aus Music, Unknown To The Unknown, W&O Street Tracks, BPitch Control and Last Night On Earth, amongst others. EJECA carves out an energetic slab of audacious party house on ‘Unloving’, resplendent with rolling beats and stabby chords, and topped off with dramatic strings and vocal chops. Elsewhere on the EP, EJECA unleashes some 303 bassline action and dark vocals on ‘Standard Acid House Track’, which thankfully rises well above anything standard! And on ‘Crystal Maze’, EJECA harks back to the darker dance energies that were a staple of the late 1980s UK acid house boom. Wrapping up the EP, ‘ISWHATIS’ gets ever so slightly twisted with an orbiting synth hook and weighty stabs over a spirited rhythm section.

jansons & senzala - Aura
London duo Senzala is made up of Jonni Santos and Sam Holland, a pair who have impressed with their inventive sounds and rich musical palettes on labels like Pets Recordings and forthcoming releases on No. 19. Fellow Londoner Jansons, meanwhile, has been tipped as one to watch, with numerous plays of his recent releases on Four Thirty Two, Knee Deep In Sound and VIVa across all the BBC radio specialist dance shows. Opening up in brilliantly arresting fashion is ‘JNZ’, a big-hearted house track with bouncy rubber kicks and scattered percussion, bringing a loose sense of funk to the groove. Perfectly soulful, pitch shifted vocals (from Margaret Grace, for the spotters out there) bring an inescapable ‘hands in the air’ vibe that’s already tearing up some of the more discerning dancefloors out there, and already big with jocks like Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed, Hot Since 82 and many more. On the flip is ‘Aura’, with its razor sharp hi hats and exuberant drums molding an expertly functional track. Withering sci-fi synths shoot through the mix as frazzled chords bring more energy and atmospherics to this full fat house banger!

Richy Ahmed has been steadily building his Four Thirty Two label over the last 12 months, introducing talented artists such as Jansons and Senzala to the fold. The imprint is fast becoming a ‘go to’ label for those who like their house music uncomplicated and hype free, ensuring the Chicago and Detroit house sound burns bright with new music indebted to the roots of the music. After recent releases on Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It label, and remixes for London Grammar, Richy brings the goods back to home on this latest Four Thirty Two release. On “Can’t Stop Us”, chunky stabs incessantly jab at meaty drums, as a female vocal loop rides on an opening filter. The good vibes build to a classic house piano crescendo that Marshall Jefferson would certainly approve of, as the soaring strings and evolving drums raise the rapturous mood to dizzying heights. On the flip, the percussive disco drums of “Dials Mavis” are bolstered by a booming sub bassline whilst deft keys and deep Rhodes chords deliver the infectious melody on this bumping jazz ride.

Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two imprint continues to shine a light on the freshest talent emerging from the house music underground, and on the label’s third release, the London based Senzala get to flex their muscle on a fine release, backed with a remix from Ahmed and Jansons AKA Lovehertz. Having previously released on the French label Mr. KS & Friends, and Politics Of Dancing, the Senzala boys, otherwise known as Jonni Santos & Sam Holland, deliver the goods once more on the “Phase” EP. The title track packs rolling 909s and looping filtered disco riffs into its punch; never letting the energy levels drop. Vocal licks and techno-laced stabs drive this club-focused track fantastically, with a glossy production that really shines through. Richy Ahmed and Jansons come correct with a Loveherts remix; a heavyweight analogue bassline dominated the mix and the vocal parts slide down the arpeggiated riff as incessant synth stabs ramp up the heat, taking their remix right to fever pitch. The Senzala boys grind out more solid house grooves on “All For You”, deploying disco samples and vocals that are filtered and twisted around the tough drums to great effect, whilst on “Agora”, the mood remains unfaltering as feel good riffs and warm keys wrap around Senzala’s steady beat to complete a stellar release that’s packed with energy and infectious vibes.

luca cazal - Be Alone
2
luca cazal - Manali
Four Thirty Two, the new record label directed and curated by Richy Ahmed, reveals its second release this Spring with a fantastic new single from Luca Cazal. Out on vinyl & digital in April, ‘Be Alone’ is backed with collaboration with Italian producer, Andrea Fiorito. Cazal has previously released music on Crosstown Rebels, Classic Music Company and his own See Double label, and once again displays his house music credentials on this Four Thirty Two release. His understanding of club music runs deep; knowing what makes a dancefloor tick is an essential skill for any producer, and Cazal’s DJ residency at the Paradise DC10 club nights and regular gigs at Circoloco keep him firmly in tune and adept at carving out modern and fresh party moments. ‘Be Alone’ is an inspiriting, rolling house track that builds steadily over its tenure. A filtered vocal hook unfurls over tension building strings and nimble keys, the hi-hats assuredly rattling over rolling snare fills and with the energy levels never dropping, Cazal serves up a cracking club cut with all the hallmarks of a filtered house classic in the making. The infectious house grooves keep coming with ‘Manali’, with Cazal partnering up with Andrea Fiorito (Cynosure) for a no-nonsense, heads down, acidic basement moment. An urgent bassline bounces around the locked groove whilst choppy vocals, haunting synths and energetic percussion all hustle for prime position in this lively and effective track.

Richy Ahmed and Janson feat Gloria Adere - The Voyage
Richy Ahmed launches his new imprint, Four Thirty Two, with a self-produced two-track single, “Put Me In A Trance”, featuring the vocal talents of Gloria Adereti and a collaboration with up and coming producer, Janson. The new label is a back to basics, analogue vision, directed by Richy, which will include original material, unearthed and undiscovered artist appearances, and remixes from the Richy and Janson alias Love Hurtz, as well as featuring a variety of vocalists from surrounding circles. Each release will have a clear focus on the sound of vinyl and clean-cut imagery presented with each record. Since his debut EP “The Drums” on Hot Creations in 2013, Richy has continued to pave the way for genre spanning and aspiring artists. Aside from his recording and production ventures, Richy has been at the forefront of UK house music and its surrounding avenues for some years, taking a lead role in programming DC10’S Paradise parties, and a variety of club projects. Richy has forthcoming remixes for the likes of FFRR and Snatch, and has recently had solo singles out on Strictly Rhythm and Rinse Records, as well as a prestigious remix for New Order. As an extension to the label releases, Four Thirty Two will tour the UK as an operating label party brand, with early shows selling out in record time and forthcoming label nights around the UK and Europe scheduled, all side stepping Richy’s usual realms of clubland for smaller and more intimate venues.
