AUS follow up some landmark records from the likes of Bicep, Shenoda, Youandewan and new addition Fold with the return of a label-favourite - the esteemed man of the moment Marquis Hawkes who offers up his first full length EP on AUS in the form of 'Chances'. In the wake of his recent outing on Houndstooth as well record on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Clone Jack For Daze, the London born Berlin based producer does what he does best for his AUS debut and lines up three rapturous jams packed with Disco loops and tough analogue drum work all suffused a signature degree of grit. The title track filters into focus as truncated and funky loops are set tumbling one after another propelled by ripe, punchy drums before 'A Very Deep Groove' then follows up with syncopated rhythms laying the groundwork for a rich, hypnotic mood. 'Free Of Sin' then finishes things up and sees Marquis building steadily blooming tension through sparse sampling and naturally sequenced drum tracks that close the doors on a stellar 2015 for AUS.

You can guarantee that Luciano always comes through with a signature tune once a year, and of late has leisurely road tested singles like 'Rise Of Angel' and 'Cachai' at clubs, festivals and at his Ibiza residencies for full seasons, before releasing the fruits of his labor.
And so 2015 throws up "7directions" featuring JAW on the vocal, a mesmerizing and low-slung track that's already getting pole position in Luciano's sets, ending his momentous off-Sonar show at El Poble Espanyol with it, as well as becoming a staple at his weekly Vagabundos residency at Space in Ibiza this season.
New York house royalty, Dennis Ferrer, sprinkles the track with his own inimitable style, a sound that has crafted hit records and undergound bombs since the 90s, for labels like Nite Grooves, Defected, Ibadan and his own Objektivity label.
And to complete this huge package, Matthew Herbert joins the party with a head scrambling "One Direction Dub" mix. The UK sound designer has mesmerized and innovated over the last two decades with some stunning music on his own Accidental label as well as remixes for the likes of Moloko, Jamie XX, Björk and a host of others.
On the Original Mix, brooding pads and spikey synths linger over a spacious drum pattern, live drum fills and claps bouncing off the bass pulses, as wandering keys usher in the unmistakable tones of JAW AKA Jonathan Illel, the musician and vocalist extraordinaire who ply's his trade with the French electronic group DOP and as a guest on recordings from artists like Mirko Loko and Guillaume & The Coutu Dumounts amongst many others.
"7directions" is perhaps one of Luciano's more understated productions; it's a sprawling and sultry journey, with deft melodic touches and intricate production techniques, taking care not to become cluttered, rather using the space is enunciate the sheer hypnotism stored within and for JAWs vocals to glide over the listener without fanfare or dramatic clichés.

Poker Flat continue their welcome foray into vinyl-only releases - following Kindimmer's fine Wax Substance EP - with four deep morsels from Pavel Iudin (or Paul Yudin, as he's occasionally known in anglophone circles.) Now respected resident at St. Petersburg's Stackenschneider club, Iudin has developed a real feel for deep, dubby dancefloor-oriented tech house. And Waxology is no exception.
The title track is a luxurious meditation - layered, thoughtful with subtle builds and shifts. This is precision-engineered deep house, fine-tuned to send you into head-nodding ecstasy.
A 'Tokamak' - for those who don't know - is a kind of experimental, Russian doughnut designed to confine plasma for nuclear fusion. In other words, it's futuristic, profound and utterly enveloping - which is exactly what Iudin delivers on this circling, bubbling groove.
Meanwhile, the dubby foundation of 'Anchor' is contrasted by echoing chimes, crisp percussion and shimmering timbres that whizz in and out of earshot, while 'Charmel' is deeper still, a booming kick married to a sinuous bassline to fashion a heavy dancefloor stomper.
Across the board, this is unflashy and highly focused stuff whose booming depth and spacious production comes to life in vinyl form

The title of the release is a play on the now classic early Plus 8 compilations From Our Mind To Yours from 1991 and 1992.
The records were previously released as very limited hand stamped white labels via Hard Wax in Berlin.

After a string of impressive digital releases, the four tunes collected here more than merit an appearance on vinyl. 'Pech' is a masterclass in the selection and combination of tone and texture. Elements unfold and flower organically - including a sustained and deliciously pitch-bent bass tone - as the tune reaches its climax of dancing synths. 'Schwefel' takes a voyage into more eerie territory, full of echo and distant music-box pings that are finally subsumed by gritty synth repetitions.
The airy feel of 'Schwarzlicht' with its simple kick-less beat and textured woodblocks gives way to an imposing, thorax-rattling low end. Precision-engineered for a massive system, the pitch-bent bass twists like a contortionist, while piercing stabs pulse and ping. Last up, the slamming kick and buzzing repetitions of 'Filmriss' create a dark, edgy vibe. A pitched-up pulse - as if a string is being slowly tightened to breaking point - makes way for a truly monstrous and memorable sub bass.

"I've been involved in two or three major genres that are very different from each other," says Vaughn Robert Squire from Canada, better known as Prison Garde, who is making his True Romance debut with our TREP009.
About his 'Melody EP', he says: "It's gospel-influenced house stuff. It's in line with the last couple records that I put out, but I feel like it's a little more mature and that the quality of the recording is a lot higher than anything else I've done as Prison Garde. I recorded it at the Phi Centre in Montreal - it's a beautiful cultural center in the Old Port. Ango and I locked ourselves in there and did a live record on an SSL in a big room."

Inspired by a holiday to the Scottish town on the Isle of Lewis, Carloway ?is a head nodding dreamy builder, with a killer bassline, leading into some classic piano chords. Joe Cowie aka Kahwe has cut his teeth in the clubs of North England, warming up for the likes of Levon Vincent, Ben Klock, Leon Vynehall and Prosumer at his Selective Hearing residency. Blueprint are pleased to announce 'Pluralism', the latest EP from Berlin based techno protagonist and Blueprint affiliate Sigha. Sigha is a name that has become synonymous with forward thinking techno and electronic music. It is German producer Benedikt Frey who is next up on Dutch label Creme Organization with a fully formed four track EP entitled Ghosts. In just three years, Frey has established himself on quality labels like Live At Robert Johnson and Mule, as well as on his own Label Love Pain Sunshine & Rain, and each of those releases has summonsed up a different vibe, from kinky techno to moody deep house, but always with a truly unique melody, hook or texture somewhere in the groove. 'Can't Joke With Dexy' is the opener here and is a bumpy, edgy house cut with tense and nervy keys jangling above a roughshod drum line. It grows ever more dark and comic and things roll on before 'Faith' is a more breezy, airy house groove. The drums here dance a nimble dance, thin synths and emotive chords all come in rich layers and a lo-fi percussive line proves how Frey can conjure up idiosyncratic sounds with ease. Like its title suggest, 'Ghosts' is a hauntingly atmospheric track with icy hi hats, pixel thing and hugely melancholic chords and harmonic bells all adding a sense of calm and serenity to turbulent drums deep down below. Lastly, 'Scale' is a sub 100bpm crawler with fat elastic synths strung up between lazy kicks. Two filtered spoken word lines add plenty of weirdness to this soupy bit of cosmic seduction and round out an EP that is stuffed with fresh ideas and great sonic invention.

An EP of GOLDEN BUG on LDDLM has been a long-time coming. Paths crosses, encounters, similitudes. But it took all of us time to agree on how Golden Bug should fit into our mortal ethics of fragmentation: we don't want to sound like anybody else, each track on the EP should all sound different. The French but Barcelona based producer played our game, anticipating his future and very diverse album with a spook yet catchy 12". WILD BOYS was an instant ear-catcher, some proto-funk with a very strong vocal by YAN WAGNER that made it sound like DURAN DURAN on speedball. It was hard to take it to another level but LORD TUSK, one of our favourite producers of the emerging "no genre" (electro-funk????) London scene beefs it up, Kraftwerk way. It's moody as we all are. IK VOEL JE shows the more experimental spaced out side of Golden Bug, we'd call it space rock If we had to. Do not neglect L"HORLOGE, it's slow, dark, menacing but it's a real time bomb if tuned correctly.

Berlin based Brit BNJMN returns to his regular label home of Delsin with a brand new mini-album of experimental cuts that continue his journey into ever more decayed, lo-fi and gritty sound sculpture. As well as albums on Rush Hour and Astro: Dynamics, BNJMN has put out a fine EP on Stolen Kisses and in 2015 started his own label Brack with two great releases. This new release features six tracks and kicks off with 'Microgravity,' a shadowy exercise in suspensory dub that ripples and groans, growing in menace over its static laced three minutes. Next, 'Womb' is a vast chamber of glory synths and rippling pads that sounds like it comes from the after life, 'P-Tr' is a high tension, nerve jangling brew of glassy electronics with heavy kicks buried deep below and '1987', a fuzzy, darkened brew of spacious kicks, whirring machines and bubbly tape sounds that are seriously foreboding. 'Oder' is a more emotional work where multiple synth lines echo about and emit cautious rays of light, then finally 'Amygdala' is based around a frazzled, oversized and spraying bassline that is backed by radiant pads and a dystopian house groove and it rounds out another expertly outlier collection full of strange yet compelling tracks and textures.

Following on from their Record Store Day ‘Looped EP’ release, which featured remixes by Dauwd and Lubomyr Melnyk, Kiasmos – made up of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen – return with three new tracks and a remix by Tale Of Us. Recorded in various locations including Reykjavík and Berlin, the EP opens with ‘Drawn’, a four-minute percussion fuelled track with gentle piano motifs. ‘Gaunt’ features the addition of ambient synths and a drum loop, underpinned by slow-moving chords. Title track ‘Swept’ which the duo offered to fans as a surprise gift in form of a free download card at previous show dates,

After the success of his debut album ‘Back In Flight School’ on Hot Creations, Miguel Campbell has spent the last three years living in Ibiza, dividing his time between touring and the studio. Since returning to his hometown of Leeds last year, his production output has been prolific, with a slew of original tracks and remixes coming through his own Outcross Records imprint, the same label that will release forthcoming second artist album, ‘Night Drive Without You’ on 11th December in both double pack vinyl and digitally. Referencing the style of some of his early work and featuring a variety of both vocal and instrumental cuts, the disco-tinged layers of all 15 tracks make a firm nod towards the French touch scene of the late 90s and early 2000s, but despite the retro influences, Miguel’s skill here lies in creating a body of work that sounds both fresh and futuristic. Rumbling basslines and glossy, electro synths combine perfectly on the future-facing ‘Melody of Love’, while on final track ’Light and Darkness’ he demonstrates a similar balance; incorporating computerised vocal, underpinned by heavy bass licks - the airy vocal countered by the weight of the low end. Vocal tracks on the album feature the talents of both Benjamin Diamond, who appeared on Stardust’s ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ and frequent collaborator Beccs Lott, joining Miguel on ‘Not That Kind of Girl’ and more recently on his ‘Free Falling’ EP. ‘Run With Me’ in particular showcases the synergy between the pair on a track full of verve and bounce, while on ‘Interfunk Music’, he joins forces with Diamond to cosmic, spaced-out effect, with Diamond's hazy, hollowed-out tones adding a new dimension to the record. Following a stellar contribution to Radio Slave's Clone Wars remix package, Markus Suckut makes his full Rekids debut with the Heat On Feet EP. The three tracks on offer capture Suckut's ability to marry intensity with groove, with the toughness of his iron-forged techno breakbeats and ambient textures. The A cut, Untitled #1, is perhaps the EP's most instantly ear-catching, framing itself around a swinging hardcore break with a bubbling acid bassline coming to the fore over the course of the track's seven-minute running time. #2 opens the B-side with a fast, stripped-down, atmospheric techno tool, while #3 closes the EP with a pounding 4x4 melting away to reveal a romantic star-gazing breaks & pads combo. The EP marks the start of a new phase in Suckut's already illustrious career, which has seen the German release on many of techno's most respected labels. More Rekids releases are in the works, plus 2016 will see the resurrection of his own SCKT imprint, with the two labels together becoming the producer's main outlets.

The duo Acid Mondays have brought their quirky forms of house and techno to a wealth of respected labels over the years - Warp, Circus and 2020 Vision to name but a few. Now, Negghead and Lex Wolf can add Guy Gerber’s forward-thinking RUMORS to that list, with their humorously-titled ‘Tacos Per Minute’ EP which looks set to add to the imprint’s hard-earned reputation as a breeding ground for innovative techno. The eponymous lead track features skittering metallic echoes, a pulsing sub-bass, distorted vocals and futuristic synth chords for an atmospheric opener. The first of the B-sides, ‘Mezcalid’ takes things darker and deeper. Rattling, mechanical percussion combines with a satisfyingly heavy, rhythmic bass-line before joining skipping riders for an irresistible groove. That characteristic sub-bass makes a reappearance in ‘Techno Wellies’, a track whose driving drums and up-tempo claps set the scene for a multitude of echoing effects and shimmying percussion eventually developing into a samba-esque piece of techno. The ‘Tacos Per Minute’ EP is a danceable yet quirky techno release, whose attention to percussive detail and slightly dusty feel mark it out as a characteristic Acid Mondays production, sitting comfortably amongst the high-calibre catalogue of RUMORS releases.

After the Alma EP' by Shanti Celeste, secretsundaze' s 19th release comes from another UK home grown favorite Wbeeza. Beeza is a firm part of the secretsundaze family and although it's his first release on the label, he has been a regular fixture at the parties now for 5 or 6 years playing at both the London events and touring internationally with Giles and James as a live act, as well touring extensively by himself. We hope his music needs no introduction - his sound is quite simply fresh; an amalgamation of so many things from house, techno, jazz, hip hop to more UK leaning garage vibes. Born and bred in South London and the youngest of 6 brothers he has dance music pumping through his veins. Black Moon EP is up there with the very best of his work and all 3 tracks show a level of maturity that comes from releasing over 14 EPs and close to 2 LPs (his second LP entitled Expression Of Love drops next month on Third Ear) Title track Black Moon is a murky, growling techno workout with syncopated lo fi beats, a thunderous bass line that is eq'd to within an inch of its life, and white noise FX. Within the right hands this should be a deadly weapon. Like Butta is a hazy, percussive tool that keeps the tension high while B side track Ferguson is arguably the strongest track of the EP. Referencing the Ferguson case in Missouri that sparked vigorous debate about the relationship between the police and African Americans, the track is a timeless groove, coming on like a modern day version of Maurizio's 'M4' with its heads-down, hypnotic deep techno flow that one could simply listen to on repeat. Wbeeza on secretsundaze.....Need we say more!

His stunning live performance of 'Headband' at the 2014 Labyrinth festival left Van Hoesen dazed and enthralled. After The Very Polish and The Very Soviet Cut-Outs, Zambon continues his endless trip around Eastern Europe with another excursion. Now it's time to follow him and dive deep into dance music of former Yugoslavia. The very first volume of the brand new The Very Yugo Cut-Outs exposes a little known scene of editors based around the cult club 20/44 in Belgrade, Serbia. A duo of DJs and producers called Kompleks is responsible for three edits here, while the label boss Zambon supplies the last one. Tracks range from poppy new wave of Jakarta group from Serbia, through psychedelic rock of Seid Memic aka Vajta from Bosnia, Yugo boogie of Kim Band from Serbia/Macedonia and sleazy synthpop of Videosex group from Slovenia. The title is derived from the idea of finding a way to live life in a state of presence; detaching oneself from the mental, self imposed narratives echoed by society's traditions and judgements. We as people tend to be at our most honest and present in our childhood, so in some ways From Joy serves as a mechanism and reminder to return to one's youthful energetic state. The 8- track album, all produced before 2010, is a homage to where Kyle lived at the time in his father's basement on the westside of Detroit on Joy Rd.

Yoruba Records takes us on a new journey with a new sub label Yoruba Soul, dedicated to all things non house. To begin our journey we called upon our brother and long time friend Miles Bonny, who brings a gritty soul Ep "I Bring You Love". This release takes the listener into a smoke filled room where spirits float around. The elements of distortion, dirty kick drums and snares shape the sound of this Ep taking us to a world between rituals and 90's Boom Bap. Bonny Emerges From the studio with a warm yet haunting offering. The title track "I Bring You Love" quickly sets the tone for the release. Featuring lyrics that cut into the soul with echoing vocals. Themes of romance, pain, and healing carry throughout the 4 songs on this soon to be Yoruba Classic. The production throughout this release bends the genre's of Jazz, Soul, Electro, and Hip Hop into one awesome sound, filled with glitches and thumping kick drums. Miles Bonny sings, chants, and speaks to the listener with his lyrics which reflect on the existence of ones own internal voices. The song "Don't Deny The God Inside You" holds true to this, with Bonny chanting a call and response between the voices that speak to our consciousness. "I Bring You Love", is the perfect soundtrack for those late nights of roaming a busy city as you seek to connect to the internal spirit. The “dance session band project” started for the session with the dance duo SYMBOL-ISM who represents Yoyogi, Tokyo known as the base of yygrec. The band is composed by three members. Daisuke Fujiwara (sax), well versed in Detroit Techno, got attention when he was playing in his original band “phat”, which sublimated the improvisation style of techno and jazz in 90’s. After that he has played with Jeff Mills and also with Underground Resistance. Masatsugu Hattori (drums) who has been playing across the genre, has appeared on the fighting-style music event BOYCOTT RHYTHM MACHINE VERSUS LIVE. He has also played and gone on a duo tour with MC Sibitt from a hiphop crew Origami. Keigo Iwanami (bass) is playing in a club jazz band Sleepwalker, a punk band Midori, Oncenth trio, Zycos and more. He keeps playing in various fields of music like jazz, pop, punk, improvisation music etc. In this project, they creates “physical” dance session music inspired by SYMBOL-ISM, and reflects their each musical backgrounds of jazz, techno, house, hiphop, punk, improvisation and so on.

Created entirely on iOS apps for iPhone and iPad, it was a highly original and utterly essential anthology of his progressive and deeply soulful electronic excursions.
