When LA label Acid Test decided to start the leftfield imprint, Avenue 66, they looked to New Jersey house mystic Joey Anderson for an opening salvo. He delivered the modern psych-dance masterpiece "Above The Cherry Moon." Now Anderson's back again with more of his beguiling dreamlogic. On "If One Cares, They Act Different" Anderson works with a lead that could score an unsettling '80s horror flick, eventually introducing his signature quicksilver synths and abstract, jacking drum patterns. "Peace There" starts with the square-wave basslines and raspy hats Taking us to a psychedelic far away place. On "The Vase", Anderson reins things in, but even his bittersweet, relatively straight-head deep house tracks present an odd paradox. His music so alien and human all at once.

Cannataci Records - A new record label run by Ripperton & Agnès
Cannataci Records is a joint venture hosted by Ripperton and Agnès. The label is aimed at releasing rather unclassified music, pieces our friends compose or simply ourselves. The aim is at releasing music we believe make things go beyond the usual paths. The label name is a reference to our hopes in the newly appointed UN special rapporteur on privacy, namely; Joseph Cannataci. Frankly, we do not want to taint our music with politics, although we are simply firm endorsers of our own privacy and think everybody else should. Cannataci Records will output its releases with a very small batch of 2x12 inches vinyl's physical copies of the recorded materials and thereafter digitally.

Absurdity, none decisions, finding yourself begging for your brain to get formatted thus losing it all, the good and the bad, simply for once get rid of that load. Machine wise it's possible, biologically speaking it isn't yet. Absurd Memories is an exorcism at one of the saddest period of my life. Sorrows and sleepless nights made me craft this. I nailed it with all my strength as if by doing it with all my hearth, my sadness storms would vanish. It turned out to be an unfair combat. Two years later this has now its place in the past for which time, as a cure, was my only help at looking at things with a different gyroscope. This album is now your present and somehow so dead for me. Absurd Memories...

When hitting a streak it's best to keep going. For a prolific producer like UBX127 one EP just wasn't enough to keep up with his continuous output of high quality techno. Constant Permutation Part 2 picks up where its predecessor left off and provides for another batch of deadly club weapons.
Living up to its title, beatless Explorations sends out eerie signals deep into outer space, anticipating with suspense to maybe find some life form's response. It arrives in form of driving track Felt and its ricocheting, arpeggiated synths, which would aptly soundtrack the decent of alien attack ships on our planet. Weighty, yet mysterious Örnsberg seems to echo with the cries of long lost souls that have been trapped eternally inside its icy caverns. The EP ends with a masterclass in immersive sound design, a constant ebb and flow of layers, winding their way into the listener's subconscious.
Filling up a pair of twelves to the brim with tunes this well thought out and executed, UBX127 further displays his vast potential and leaves us with excitement for whatever he might be coming up with next.

So kam die Postmoderne über uns und machte aus vormals ehrbaren Kulturschaffenden Werksarbeiter, denen alle Schrauben abhanden gekommen schienen, im besten Fall.
Mit minimaler Eigenleistung (nimmt man die unbeabsichtigten Fehler in der Produktion mal aus), aber bei maximaler Entgleisung entstand ein gänzlich neuer Berufszweig. Der grundsolide Werksarbeiter, mit Gema Anmeldung im Griff und guten Draht zu seinem Steuerberater. Um die quietschfidelen Arpeggio Terroristen soll es heute mal nicht gehen.
Unsere Protagonisten dieser Geschichte sind andere. Wahnwitzige, Soziophobiker, Menschen mit gebrochenen Lebensläufen statt Joghurt im Rucksack, emsig agierende Mitstreiter mit Tupperdose in der Tasche für die Frühstückspause, willens den Kampf der letzten Kulturoffensive zu Ende zu bringen, samplen, pitchen, alles zerhacken und zu undefinierbaren Fetzen von Funk wieder zusammensetzen.
Ausgeglichen vom Duft der Natur ankommend den Fortschritt definieren wollen und den Strom in die Maschinen juckeln. Ästheten der Fehler waren geboren. Losgelöst vom Fließband.
Hart & tief wird geackert geschwitzt, gebimmelt, der Filter aufgedreht, der Schmutz schaufelweise rangekarrt, bis die Stufe der Erlösung erreicht wird oder eben halt auch nicht. Das Leben ist nun mal kein einziger Orgasmus und der Funk entsteht in den Pausen wie die Befriedigung der Gier und der Besitz des Moments, weil das Leben ist doch nur ein Wimpernschlag und wir immer nur einen Abgrund entfernt von Weltekel oder Erlösung.

Peter Kremeier, AKA Losoul, has always been an artist we’ve greatly admired here at Hypercolour, so it was a real thrill to
have him on the label back in 2014, and here we have an essential repress of the ‘Slowly Turning’ release. A huge catalogue
of eclectic, distinctive and funky music for labels like Playhouse, Moodmusic and Freak ‘n’ Chic, Losoul turns in two
exceptional tracks on this EP that were lapped up on the initial release.
‘Daddy, What’s A Rise?’ is classic Losoul; a heavy low slung groove never lets up, with micro disco stabs and distant vocal
snippets, looping round and round for over 10 minutes, but without ever standing still, the filtering and deft touches keep things
moving at just the right funky pace.
B side cut ‘Time & Space’ is a glitchy and dubbed out affair, a solid 4/4 beat underpins a myriad of delayed percussion and
panning synths, spatial effects and an incessant chord stab, head music for the heads indeed!

With 'Fixion', Anders has crafted a logical successor to 2013's 'Lost' - a record that in many ways managed to truly capture the visceral live experience of Trentemøller as a full-band. Mat Chiavaroli, one of your main artists who is getting stronger and stronger, opens this jubilee release with upbuilding powerful tune, just the tune the get Quintessentials 50 started! Great to see profilic dutch producer Nachtbraker (Heist, Quartet Series) on the label too. We love his style and he will soon be as popular as Ajax Amsterdam! His subtle and dirty "Bronco" fits in perfectly. The definitive club tune that grooves and grooves and grooves comes from Ponty Mython (Dirt Crew). Alexandr is a cool guy and this is defo a cool tune. Last but not least is Soul of Hex (Freerange, Vicario). Our mexican friend is going very raw this time. Alexandr is a cool guy and this is defo a cool tune. Last but not least is Soul of Hex (Freerange, Vicario). Our mexican friend is going very raw this time. Originally released on Infarkt records, this great EP gets back to life on Atomium. Florida Boys is a Frankfurt/Offenbach-based electronic music project by Dirk Schricker and Matthias Braun. They have been actively creating music between 1996 and 1998, releasing a couple of tracks on EPs and Compilations which have been part of the first wave of German Underground House Music. In 2016 they reanimated their project and are currently working on new music while getting a repress of the much-wanted Starship Groupies EP.

Clairaudience and Anthony Nicholson go together like Lennon and McCartney, and so it’s only appropriate that the resurrection of the label should be led by the legendary Chicago producer. The Suckapunch EP is Clairaudience’s first new release in 10 years – almost 19 years after the label’s earliest offerings, including USG’s Ncameu and African Blues’ Word Sound Power, heralded Nicholson as a force to be reckoned with in the world of soulful and sophisticated house music. The two new tracks that make up the Suckapunch EP find Nicholson in vintage form, still innovating powerful dance music for conscious heads and, indeed, pulling no punches. The title track is built around a distinctively Nicholsonian groove, bassy, deep and subtly tribal. A sinuous keyboard riff provides a hypnotic hook in the middle, while dramatic strings, guttural vocal stabs and spacey effects drift in and out of the mix. It’s a lush, mesmerizing 4/4 workout with an organic texture, the kind of track that helplessly draws dancers out of the shadows and onto the floor to stay. “Turn Me” is marked by a repeating refrain in which a female vocalist whispers “Turn me on,” and it does just that. Celestial Being visited Nairobi at the end of August and beginning of September 2012 where he worked with local musicians to create celestial music. Kenge Kenge brought Cow horns and hand made drums and were joined by local folk singers Olith, who had come to Nairobi through making music with King Kong and Irungu with his father who has since passed. When asked what the Kenge Groove sounded like, the receptionist Prisca said "It's like the Angel is Coming" before proceeding to provide additional vocals for all three tracks. Nairobi Story tells of an ancient village story passed down as a folk song to the present generation. Celestial Being kept forgetting whether Olith was male or female and ending up making a song with him called "all woman". This is currently a vinyl only release

Liverpool’s Yousef has cemented a solid reputation as a reputable DJ-producer who’s released on Cocoon, Desolat, Bpitch Control and Defected, remixed the likes of Chaka Khan, Sven Vath, Moby, Four Tet and Carl Cox, and is also the brain behind distinguished events brand and record label Circus. rriving at their 20th release in typically eclectic fashion, Nado turn from a laidback Luke to a Tasmanian devil, summoning synth mystic Bronze Savage to bring his unique electronics to their unstoppable imprint. Hailing from Hobart's piers rather than pavements, the Australian producer trades in a sun-bleached house sound alive with ocean spray and salty air, perfect for playing at that magic hour when the sun dips into the sea. The keen-eared may have caught Savage's collaborative cassette release with Roland Tings on Vancouver's 1080p back in 2013, but this release marks the producer's first appearance on vinyl and on his own; a testament to Moonboots' and Boardman's A&R expertise. Oceanic textures and interlocking sequences invite us into the EP opening 'Waxed Apple', combining beautifully with heat treated percussion and rolling bass to set the evening in motion. Slow, slinky but still slightly slamming, this glittering taste of Balearic house should sit very nicely next to Andras Fox and A Vision Of Panorama's additions on the imprint. The sampledelic 'Forgive Me' follows on like a poolside parley between Art Of Noise and a catatonically stoned Front 242, boasting thick bass, dreamy synths and some expert sample manipulation. Closing the A-side out in St. Tropez splendour is the simmering and sultry house of 'Body Glo', a Rousseau painted with tropical birdsong, phasing synth washes, deep house pads and the vaguest hint of digidub. Things take a turn for both the lysergic and the cosmic on the flip as Bronze Savage launches the metronomic 'Krang's Makeover' into the clear sky. Putting his own antipodean twist on the typically Scandinavian space Disco sound, the producer fuses the acidic and the aquatic via bubbling sine waves, expansive textures and a driving 303 which propels us up into the atmosphere. The world looks peaceful from way up there, and the dreamy 'Spearmint Milk' is the perfect soundtrack to our celestial explorations. Tracing a hazy shape with chimes, washes and wriggling bass, Savage brings proceedings to a close with a touch of cool and calm electronic in line with Larry Heard's majestic 'Sceneries Not Songs'. Since his first release in 2014, Gardens of God has been building himself a sterling reputation that many can only dream of. This Autumn sees the Lithuanian DJ and producer launch his own Sodai imprint, with his own two track production 'River / Ghost EP' forming the debut release. 'River ' opens with a captivating force and level of intricacy that’s undeniably a Gardens Of God signature production. 'G host ' is highly emotive and charged, a record that unfolds with such force taking overarching white noise and horns to command the peak of the night. The creation of the Sodai label arose as an outlet to release his own music at his own pace. As he explains, “[Sodai will allow me] to experiment with my sounds and create an ongoing project that gives me the freedom to style both with art and music ”. Minidaugas Lapinskis aka Gardens of God has only released a handful of EP's and yet his name is often spoken with great regard among fellow artists, including the illustrious Maceo Plex. For over a decade Gardens of God has been steadily mastering his craft and creating both film and television scores. It is only in recent years that he has decided to unveil his work and open the doors to his studio, as seen over at XLR8R .

Lefhanded Fuqs is the second of Bjarki triptych of LP’s to be released this year. Follow the stunning ‘?’ released in June this year, Lefhanded Fuqs and Æ are being released over the coming months and represent a snapshot of his archive, selected by Nina Kraviz for Trip. The tracks were produced months ago, years ago, or in the case of the last track just a couple of weeks ago. What began with 30 tracks are now 41. The three LPs aren’t albums in the traditional sense - the concept being to release the contents of his burgeoning hard drives. The music might fit together like an album, but Bjarki doesn’t see it that way. It’s essentially an archive that sounds like an album but none of the music was made with this in mind. Lefhanded Fugs is released this September to feverish anticipation. Whilst naming one of the tracks that he made with a left hand for the LP, Bjarki was so left-handed that he completely misspelled it. But in honour of all the left-handed people making mistakes because of tools made only for right-handed people, he decided to keep it. The LP contains the more experimental material from the archive, including one the first film scores he produced several years ago for a story he wrote himself. Bjarki is from Iceland. Born and raised. Despite the fact that Bjarki is known for making extremely powerful dance floor tracks he doesn’t seem to belong to any particular genre. Something this triptych of LPs demonstrates very well. His music is at times cinematic and there’s a story behind each track. Bjarki’s music always has something to do with him personally, but he’d rather the listener lose themselves in the music than pay much attention to the man behind them. Dutch electronic music trio, Noisia, have announced the release of their long awaited new album, "Outer Edges" on their own label, Vision. The 18 track album is their first in six years, and the band's second in total.
With a peerless reputation and countless awards under their belts, Noisia have transcended their genre and grown into a phenomenon in their own right. Drum & Bass is at the core of Noisia's sound, but Nik, Martijn, and Thijs's visceral brand has always ventured further.
It's called "Outer Edges" because it's us exploring the outer edges of what Noisia, the three of us together, is. It's about the idea that all the songs are little islands that we take to their individual edge... They're all like expeditions to far sides. After completing his debut 12" for 100% Silk (which saw a release in Feb 2016) Hubert Clarke Jr spent most of 2015 focused on pushing the music of others, through Sydney's newest record store, Outer Time Inner Space. Owning and being surrounded by a literal shop full of records provided motivation and inspiration but left little time for writing. It was the incredible talent and passion of DJs and peers in the fertile house/techno scene at home in Sydney that proved to be an undeniably strong motivator. Dancing while local friends, Ben Fester and Andy Webb go ham b2b in support of Soichi Terada (a bill that included Hubert among other local talents) is a perfect example. Wanting to capture and bottle the palpable energy and diversity of amazing nights like this in Sydney led him to write the tracks that make up this EP. Taking cues from both Detroit and the UK, there's no set formula here, just a conscious effort to balance a love for sampling with an equally strong passion for musicality and live performance. Translating this through the MPC with the hopeful goal of keeping thighs warm in the disco... or ears cosy on the train home.
