Patrik Sjeren, J-Dubs and Work Them Records founder Spencer Parker give Dan Beaumont's lauded 'Spirit Talkin'' the dub treatment. Having seen much support from names like Truncate, Job Jobse, Marcel Fengler and ItaloJohnson, 'Spirit Talkin'' was an enormous testament to the London-based DJ, promoter and venue owner's production prowess. First up on dub duties, Swedish veteran Patrik Sjeren, who's been releasing under numerous monikers since the early 90s on the likes of FXHE, delivers a chilling production courtesy of ghostly echoes and tantalising synths. J Dubs aka Jamie Fry, founder of the STABLO imprint, then focuses on understated percussion as an undulating bassline joins infectious claps, before Work Them boss Spencer Parker combines rumbling kicks with shuffling hats for a stripped back dub version of his Workmix.

dan beaumont - "Spirit Talkin'" (Spencer Parker Workmix)
London-based producer, DJ, promoter and venue owner Dan Beaumont drops an imaginative and esoteric house single titled 'Spirit Talkin'' on Work Them Records with a remix from label founder Spencer Parker. The man behind Dalston Superstore, Dance Tunnel, the Chapter 10 warehouse parties, an NTS radio show and releases on the likes of Classic, No Fit State and Disco Bloodbath - one word to describe Dan Beaumont is multifaceted. ‘Spirit Talkin'' sees him deliver a lengthy dancefloor cut with a heady groove and intricate drum patterns joined by penetrating vocal wails that emit feeling throughout. His 'Beaumont Beats' version keeps things percussive in a classic NY drum track style, whilst Spencer Parker's 'Workmix' raises the tempo with a strong emphasis on kicks before slowly introducing energetic chords and the powerful vox.

The latest musical addition to the Classic family is Mr. Dan Beaumont. Integral in the birth of Disco Bloodbath, Paris' Acid Ball, Macho City and setting up the London basement rave institutions Dance Tunnel and Dalston Superstore, Dan wowed Luke's heart a year ago after sending him this throwback, move forward disco, hi - energy , house stomper. The track was tentatively titled Trippy Pumper, a title that Luke felt was fitting. Fast forward to now and Classic's relationship with Dan has been cemented in their residency at Dan's wonderful and legendary club, Dalston Superstore. The song now has a ridiculously brilliant video and has awesome remixes from techno kid of the moment "October" and Acid House nobility "Justin Robertson."Bingo…..2014………the year of the Trippy Pumper.

Disco Bloodbath Recordings latest is the debut solo release from one of the founders and original residents of the Disco Bloodbath clubnights, Dan Beaumont - formally of production duo Jam Factory and the man behind London venues Dalston Superstore and the newly opened Dance Tunnel. ‘Reality Checkpoint’ is an atmospheric mid-tempo house chugger based around judicious use of samples and a slight dub-reggae sensibility to the groove. The original is accompanied by two alternate versions - one from Neville Watson, which pushes the track into club territory, and one from Dan himself, which strips things back, further accentuating the track’s dub overtones.

London based producer Alex Around has been a mover n’shaker on the scene for sometime now and looks set to further his upward trajectory with this meaty 3 tracker on Geddes’ nofitstate label.. ‘Diffuser’ is a subtle groove with a blissed out touch whilst ‘Homespun Wisdom’ opts for a deeper tripped out route. Djebali provides the remix of ‘Diffuser’ on the flip, toughening up the drums to lend the track a houser edge.

nofitstate return with four tracks from hot talent A1 Bassline whose reputation has been building of late from a succession of releases for the likes of Dirtybird, Get Physical and Gruuv amongst others. Here ‘Hidden Agenda’ finds the young producer in true devastating form; skippy percussion, a nod to the UK’s garage scene, vibes the track along nicely whilst the bass does the damage. ‘Burnt Out Piano Island’ delves deeper, acting as a neat counterpoint to the more main room ‘Agenda’. Here the style is much more nuanced with a more hypnotic leaning. ‘Outsider’ picks up the pace against, albeit in a subtle, uplifting vibe with warped pianos and razor sharp percussion. ’T Moe P’ rounds things off nicely with a moody bassline driven groove.

nofitstate chalk up their 3rd release with the much talked about Swedish duo Mr. Tophat and Art Alfie providing ‘Vretis’, an elongated groove fit to bursting with tension thanks to its extended filtered intro. ‘Locked Groove’ provides the remix on the flip, opting for a more blissfully melodic approach for those early morning sessions whilst ’Takelant’ rounds things off in fine style with a low down and dirty slice of machine-phunk.

Release no.2 on nofitstate sees Matthew Styles taking over the reigns; the 'Signals EP' is a varied beast as you'd expect from one of the most distinguished and versatile producers of the last couple of years. 'Signals' kicks things off, a beautifully effortless flowing groove with on-point percussion and subtle elements that keep things moving perfectly. 'Lucky' keeps the vibe nice and deep, a razor sharp snare imbuing the track with a sense of energy whilst 'Codex' leans toward melody with it's pitch perfect arpeggiated motif dominating proceedings. 'Gesopik Console' rounds the EP off nicely with a nod to nu-disco energy.
