The new bomb on Echocord Colour comes from Brendon Moeller. Brendon already did releases on Echocord and Echocord Colour before, also on his monikers Echologist and Beat Pharmacy. Words from the artist: Much in line with the label aesthetic, I set out with these trax to explore the dubbier hypnotic side of techno music. My goal was to present 3 trax that could be played at different times of the evening because tthere's nothing like giving a DJ who has to carry a bag of vinyl around the world a record where each track can be played in one night! of course, the question rremains, are you a DJ that wants to play 3 trax like this? if yes, buy this now.

Esteemed musical chameleon Brendon Moeller, renowned for his highly respected work in Deep Ambient, Dub Techno and a myriad of variations on these themes - turns his hand to 170 for Samurai Music.
Vacuum is the first fruits of this collaboration and encompasses a cross section of his approach to the tempo. Dub-wise 170 that hints at a deeper version of autonomic, but ultimately invents a new sound that only Brendon and his analogue dungeon could conjure. 30 years of mastering the art of the deep filtered through an all new tempo lens.
Vacuum is a gentle 6 track record that will become a close companion to those tuned to, or open to embracing the rewards of Brendons impeccable sound design and mastery of immersive, minimalist warmth.

The prolific producer, also active as Echologist and Beat Pharmacy, hereby presents one of his most deep going, spaced out and experimental modular works to date. Crispy noodling electronics diluted with Moeller's trademark minimalist dub scapes, reaching from the mesmerizing the rubbery basslines of 'Route' to the energizing fast paced rhythms of 'Motor'.

Brendon Moeller is an artist that needs no introduction. The South African born living in the US, like few of his generation constantly challenges himself with new concepts and ideas, has incorporated techno, dub, jazz, ambient, sound design, to his works throughout the years. Never chased the limelight, but instead the work, one idea after the next, one project after the other, restless. He has collaborated with labels like Echocord, Third Ear, Electric Deluxe, Prologue, Mord to name some. "Materialize" is his first work for Vibrant Music.
From his early days in various bands in the 80's and 90's, Brendon liked indie, shoegaze, ambient, moody, cinematic scapes.
With Materialize he came full circle, reaching out to his early influences, but with the knowledge and experience of many years of exploration of modular synths, to create a concept space that feels intimate, and at the same time vivid evoking visual imaging.
It explores the time space through a minimalist, stoic approach.
It tells the story of how we are all linked into this tree of music we call electronic music, wherever each one is coming from.
A celebration of life through the mind of one of today's scholars of electronic music.
A liberation from the strictness of tempo and metronomes, to reach to a more creative state.
Vibrant Music continuous the quest, to bring to you unique collaborations and sides of artists that we like.

Brendon Moeller offers up his ‘Set In Motion’ EP on Echocord sub-label Echo Echo this September, comprising three originals from the Dub Techno veteran. South Africa, New York based producer and DJ Brendon Moeller aka Beat Pharmacy/Echologist has long been respected as one of the pioneering figures in ethereal, dubbed-out Techno with regular appearances at global hot spots like fabric, Berghain and Cielo as well as releases on labels like Third Ear, Kimochi, Neovinyl and Echocord. Here though we see Moeller joining the roster of the latter’s sublabel Echo Echo, marking its fourth release. Title-track ‘Set In Motion’ leads with Brendon’s signature murky synth textures at its core whilst lumpy low-end tones, shuffled hats and spiraling dub echoes fluidly undulate amongst one another throughout. ‘Eastern Beach’ follows, and as the name would suggest, nods towards brighter sounds with airy pads, soft bell chime synths and pulsating subs driving the composition alongside swinging, heavily reverberated percussion. ‘Economy’ then closes the package, stripping things back to gritty dub stabs, dusty 4/4 drums and billowing noise sweeps.

Brendon Moeller returns to Third Ear after some years, following up his lauded Jazz Junk Safari trilogy of eps with 4 peak time bombs. All 4 tracks blow up the dance floor. Brendon Moeller known for his sound design, has taken his sonics to extremes on all four tracks, pushing, twisting and teasing frequencies to the limit. The bass on all tracks is phenomenal. It's just as well that a master engineer like Pole has mastered these tracks, maxing out the sound yet protecting the sound systems that these bombs will be played on. Super fun.

Brendon Moeller Wanderer (Tommy Four Seven Remix NLFC81200003 Brendon Moeller Wanderer (Jonas Kopp Remix) NLFC81200002 Brendon Moeller Wanderer (Fuck Yeah Vinyl Mix) NLFC81200001
Whetting appetites for 'Works'-Brendon Moeller's ninth studio album and his first full-length for Speedy J's compound techno stable-Electric Deluxe present the 'Wanderer EP', with remixes from CLR's Tommy Four Seven and Argentine vanguard Jonas Kopp. Since relocating to New York from South Africa, Moeller has spent the last twenty years cultivating his dub techno legacy. As Beat Pharmacy and Echologist he has employed jazz, afrobeat and psychedelic semblances to redefine Basic Channel foundations, whilst producing a stockpile of records under his own name for labels like Echocord, Mule and Third Ear Recordings. In 2009 Moeller launched Steadfast, which has continued to be a platform for his more diverse projects-including the deep house collaboration with Chicago-based Area, as Lightness, and his last Echologist album, 'Subterranean'. Taken from 'Works' scheduled for release in April 2012 -Moeller's idiosyncratic reflection upon "the spirit of techno"-"Wanderer" nods to the genre's dark and industrial side, whilst it's crashing hats and surging bass allude to Berlin and the artist's fomented Berghain affiliation. Growling, guttural strata and robotic peals further cement it as one of Moeller's more dystopian creations and most driving effort to date. Jonas Kopp toughens "Wanderer" into one of his signature marching workouts, sliced with urgent stabs. Tommy Four Seven on the other hand picks up the track's shimmering melody-at the fore in its pre-mastered state, made available here in digital form-and tousles it with his distinctive bone-crushing beatwork and crunchy, field-generated padding. Electric Deluxe are proud to announce Works, the ninth studio album from dub techno purveyor Brendon Moeller. Conceived in late 2010 and inchoately developed during a spell in Amsterdam with EDLX head Jochem Paap overseeing the project, Works flaunts Moeller at the height of danceabilty whilst remaining true to his steeped lineage as a maker of textured, atmospheric and subaqueous electronic music.
"I began thinking hard about what kind of album I was trying to make. After much pondering I decided the best way forward would be to make an album that reflects both my own idiosyncrasies as well as try and capture what I believe to be the spirit of techno."
After the experimental Subterranean-a near beatless record comprised from a single live mixdown of sounds collated over the course of a year-under his Echologist moniker, Works shifts focus back to the dance floor with a collection of propulsive techno tracks, saturated with the visceral groove that has come to define Moeller's discography. From the submerged and spacious "Writing Wrongs" and bleepy, strung-out antics of "Far Out" to the house-kissed "Take A Dive Into The Sound" and darker, chugging cuts that close Works, the album pools together the threads of a prolific production history, spanning almost two decades, into a single succinct long player.
"It was the final stages of putting together the album where I went into a sort of manic obsessive behavior. I knew the clock was ticking and I desperately wanted to be sure that every track, every mix of every track was as good as it could be. Jochem's feedback and tactful suggestions helped shape these tracks into what they are now. I'm super proud of these and simply cannot wait to hear them on different sound systems all over the world."
With a particular nod to his other Beat Pharmacy alias-affiliated exclusively with Francois K's Deep Space Media label and New York party- Moeller's expansive output has fused dub and techno with jazz, afrobeat and psychedelic pastiches to carry on as much as refashion Basic Channel heritage into his own distinctive patois. But what makes Works a truly unique product of his is Paap's influence over the record. "Off The Grid", "Wanderer" and "Adjust To The Fading Light" are as some of the toughest bass-driven efforts from Moeller to date, balancing some of the album's brighter tracks like "In Pursuit" with techno's pounding industrial heartbeat. The result is an eclectic imagining of the genre-showing the many sides and emotions of techno, and Moeller himself.

4.Far Out

Brendon Moeller's long player homage to "the spirit of techno" 'Works', Electric Deluxe taps two of the album's polar moments for remixes to deliver Work Ethics.
Selecting one of Works' toughest tracks for the A-side, "Adjust to the Fading Light", the EP opens with a rare vocal refix from Berghain resident Ben Klock. Whilst difficult to pin Klock's productions to any particular style, as a remixer he's proven even more versatility and vision, reworking artists as diverse as Martyn, Kenny Larkin and Depeche Mode to Emptyset and Steve Bug. Meanwhile Moeller mutes the hats and brings the track's whirring dystopian bed to the fore with his Echologist version, jettisoning its original surge for more swollen and experimental terrains.
On the flip, Works' luscious dubbed out number "Writing Wrongs" is pulled further apart and dragged to dark subaqueous depths by Echospace duo Rod Modell and Stephen Hitchell as cv313. Melbourne-based producer Craig McWhinney on the other hand takes "Writing Wrongs" in the other direction entirely, soaring past Moeller's original to conclude Work Ethics on a hazy sun kissed dub trip that's altogether soothing, light and mesmerising.

Copenhagen’s Echocord Colour returns this mid November with Brendom Moeller’s ‘Magic City’ EP, featuring four originals from the New York based artist.
Brendon Moeller has long been a purveyor of authentic dub-infused Techno since stepping onto the scene via his 2006 ‘Sweetspot / Humpback’ EP via Echocord and has since gone on to release on reputable imprints such as Third Ear, Kimochi Sound, Delsin’s Ann Aimee, Mule Musiq and of course his very own Steadfast.
Here though Moeller makes a welcome return to where it all began with some fresh material for Echocord’s Colour sub- label. ‘Caravan’ takes the lead on the release and in typical Brendon Moeller fashion we’re treated to densely layered dub chords, throbbing subs and expansive atmospherics whilst robust drums drive the composition along. Magic City’ follows and ups the energy levels even further with pounding industrial drums layered underneath billowing dub stabs and eerie drones. ‘Magic City In Dub’ follows and as the name suggests offers up a reduced take on the composition, dropping the tempo and shining light on the billowing echoes of the original whilst stirring in some off-kilter rhythsm and additional processing for good measure. Lastly, ‘Departure’ closes the package, with haunting synth drones, bumpy rhythms and murky vocals wandering throughout the seven-minute composition. More

Echocord’s Colour series returns late April with the ‘Epibenthos Mbira’ EP by Hess & Harrison. Detroit’s Luke Hess has long been a respected name in underground Techno, releasing on the likes of FXHE, Deeplabs, Minimood and of course Echocord, here we see him joining forces with fellow Detroit native Joshua Harrison under their new Hess & Harrison alias for a fresh four-track EP on Echocord Colour. ‘Benthos’ leads, merging snaking dub chords and swirling white noise amidst robust drums and acid-tinged stab sequences. ‘Hadal’ follows next, embracing a more dynamic feel to contrast the groove-driven opener, this time round the duo lay focus on expansive reverberations, elongated delays, hypnotic strings and subtly nuanced textures throughout. ‘Nekton’ kicks on the flip-side, delving even deeper via driving low-end tones, murky atmospherics and shuffled percussion before ‘Upwelling’ rounds out the EP, bringing things back to a more loop driven feel as bubbling echoes, gritty bass stabs and sharp chords ebb and flow around crisp drums.

Dutch Techno artist Albert Van Abbe has nearly two decades of experience under his belt in various forms of musical and visual expression, releasing on his own Vanabbe imprint, Figure Jams, Semantica and No Comment, as well as playing live and DJing at hot spots across the globe such as Berghain, Tresor, DGTL and Awakenings festival. ‘Klangbilder 1’ leads with a robust rhythmic drive, employing bumpy toms, shuffled hats and lumpy kicks at its core as vacillating synths, tension building drones and menacing pizzicato strings develop throughout. ‘Klangbilder 2’ takes things deeper next, retaining the dusty drums sound of the previous cut whilst stirring in airy ethereal pads and choppy, resonant stab sequences. ‘Klangbilder 3’ kicks off the B-Side with modulating synth whirrs, emotive organ tones and a muted drum tones throughout before ‘Klangbilder 4’ closes the package, taking things beatless and cinematic via emotive synth leads, droning subs and expansive echoes.

More

Echocord’s Colour sub-label continues this November with Seph’s ‘Teleport’ EP, featuring three originals from the Argentinian producer. Buenos Aires born producer Sebastian Gelante aka Seph has been kicking up a storm in the Techno world since the turn of the millennium releasing material on labels such as Dumb Unit, Harry Klein, Items & Things, his own Aula Magna imprint and now he joins the Echocord roster on sub-label Echocord Colour following recent releases from Luke Hess and Stephen Brown. Across the ‘Teleport’ EP Seph delivers his signature smooth, dubbed out and intricate style and?the title-track takes the lead with billowing pads, bumpy off- kilter rhythms and choppy stab sequences galore before ‘Delta’ strips back the vibe to raw drums and murky synth textures while ethereal pads ebb and flow through the composition. ‘Motion’ rounds out the package on the flip side, taking a straighter approach rhythmically this time round to allow the snaking dub stabs, rumbling low-end tones and evolving hats to take the lead throughout.

Adventures in Deep Space is a reflection of the wonder and complexity of recognizing that we as humans are creatures with a limited capacity stranded on a planet somewhere in the universe searching for meaning and purpose while also recognizing that what we do every moment can shape the outcome of our future on earth and might ultimately become small and meaningful stitching's that could shape the fabric of our future in space. Pillars of creation represents the beauty of the stars on a clear night and the inspiring feeling that staring at the galaxy gives: how grand the universe is, how amazing it is that we have the ability to love, think, and reason, how small our problems really are in the grand scheme of reality, the idea that there may be a purpose much greater than ourselves, and that somehow we could be a part of this grand purpose. Gravitational Effects is about the parallel between the physical properties of science and creation and how we are also all physically and mentally attracted to certain people. The music speaks to the deep connection that is possible between humans and how we should all respect each other to form a more loving, peaceful, strong, and lasting community. Crate Digging on Planet Omnom is about a dream and a hope... Traveling through the universe in a nice space cruiser with your niks - stopping by planet Omnom (aka Gary's place) for some dope new records, a hike in the alien mountains, a dip in some hot springs, and then topping the trip off with some space dancing around a neon green campfire.

We welcome back one of our favorite artists, Brendon Moeller. This time as Beat Pharmacy. Brenson has been releasing several records for us before, on Echocord and Echocord Colour. On all these tracks, one thing becomes apparent, with a few simple elements and a dub approach to mixing, one can create space, movement and groove without the need to change keys. magic maybe. Thank you dub manipulators of the past and present for the music and lessons. Brendon has been releasing music in many years on many labels, also running his own famous Steadfast label.

Echocord Colour025 is produced by a good friend and a new artist on Echocord Colour, Lasse Buhl from Copenhagen. After some years in the techno scene as one half of the group Northern Structures, who releases on Adama X' label Sonic Groove, Lasse Buhl releases his debut EP "R38" on Echocord Colour, inspired by roughness and simplicity. The remix comes from no other than Milton Bradley from Berlin. The "R38" track ia a driving, stomping, dry killer Techno track, while "Em.A Ai" is a more experimantal breaky track, with dubby elements. The remix is a pure 4/4 Techno track, a typical Milton Bradley peaktime production.

We are very proud to welcome back one of our greatest artists and good friend Luke Hess from Detroit. The Ancient Greek word for Passion is "Paskho", which means to suffer. When we have passion for something in life we are willing to suffer for it. However, suffering can produce many positive things in our character, because as we suffer through this life we grow stronger. This EP was created with a passion for not only the analog machines that created it, but also for the people on the dance-floor who will hear the music. This EP was created out of a loving passion for others. Out of an artist's toil and suffering it is possible to create special moments in other people's lives. The Paskho track comes in 2 versions. Both powerfull for the dancefloor peaktime.
