San Proper - Never Gonna Turn
The inimitable Dr San Proper returns with his second album Ferotones following up his debut 2012 long play smasher Animal (on Rush Hour). It’s been a tumultuous and colorful journey since, and although the sound might have changed, San still delivers a collection of songs off the cuff and straight from the heart.
The eight tracks collected here are odes to lost love, as San tries to win back the heart of that very special someone. Penned deep in the pit of emotion, San recorded the songs in only a handful of sessions. With the assistance of Amsterdam stalwart and Safe Trip regular Darling, San could lean more towards the wavey guitar sounds and danceable disco workouts he had in mind.
“The songs just came out this way,” he says. Raw and honest, while at the same time lying through his teeth. “If you check the lyrics, I’m promising my girl the world, even though I never deliver.” And that’s the conundrum at the core of this record - challenged but aware of it, San celebrates the faults just as much as the blessings, before embarking on the long, healing journey back to love.

San Proper gushing on DG..small initial pressing on this one... be quick... TIP! San: “Lovers, friends, fam. and fans – Love is in the air, get ready.” Finally, the craze you’ve all been waiting for. This EP listens like one of Dr. Proper’s infamous radio show or deejay set. Impossible to categorize; dropping House, Electro, Funk, and paying homage to Disco. L.O.V.E. is a collaboration with Ms. Hollywood. An alliance that results in the whole breathing sexy and deep. Whereas San Proper stays in character for the rest of the EP. His use of the reverb adds shine and glory, and the drums are hit hard. In other words, music with an unprecedented character–just the way we like it. Above all; one to keep safely in your bag at all times

San Proper is the real deal. Somewhat of a street legend even.. Ask anyone crossed paths with him and you will hear the wildest stories. This might be his debut album, but make no mistake, Proper is a hardcore DJ veteran, starting his career DJ'ing small-time gigs in the shadiest bars, six nights a week. True love for music and his unbreakable optimism kept him in the groove. His enthusiasm caught on and slowly but surely he garnered a devoted following. In 2007 he released his first releases for Rush Hour, but his big break came in 2009 when he dropped his now classic single 'Keep It Raw' for Perlon and shot to #1 in Germany's Groove Magazine Top 50. More singles followed and his profile of a must see DJ and pure bred entertainer rose, touring and creating cult followings everywhere from the Japan to South America. Dr. Proper has never been in a hurry, but in the fall of 2011 the time felt right for San to start working on his debut album. Months of rampaging studio sessions followed, writing tracks all over the globe during his frantic touring schedule or in his Amsterdam studio and Paris apartment. The journey finished in Berlin, where he ended up in the studio of Proper believer Ricardo Villalobos who eventually mixed the album, ensuring audiophile bliss. The result is the trippiest of trips. Taking you on a journey inside the twisted brain of a man who has seen it all, and then some, boasting raw emotion and subconscious desires. 'Animal' has its roots in house music, but you will have a hard time categorizing this beast, sounding like a cluster bomb of electronic funk, jazz and psychedelia. Like any good trip there will be some highs and some lows, but man, what a ride...

RATIO? strikes back again with a two-track-release bij SAN PROPER this spring 2011. On side A, Proper whips up an enchanting vocal house-track entitled 'SHOOK' with a specific 'Proper-feel' of groovin' synth-bass melodies, straight-up funkin' house-beats and a message which invites you to shake your behind. Side B contains the track 'BUCKLE UP & RIDE', another instant dance-floor classic which will take us out for a spin around town as we'll drive down to memory-lane to honour some of Chicago's heritage; the lyrics warn you to fasten you seat-belt, the beats and bassline tell you "I-told-you-so"... It's a simple tool of a track, though original and outstanding; beats, bass, vocals and a nasty Proper-attitude...

A matter of pace, an analog memory…
Feel safe: like newborn, take your first careful steps on a clean slate while Maayan is your supervisor. Naïve and happy, you leave carbonbon footprints on your way into the positives. Then a faster pace: some tribal folk music from a tiny world, where people dance around an LED fire, commands a gallop to the one and ollam. Latinfection guaranteed.
Your nonplus motion interferes with environmental geometry. A memory from an analog past flashes like a daydream. Upward and rising, your smile workout succeeds while scintillating waves say “hello!”. Having grown up to a motorik being, the determined goal however never appears. The journey into a perfect storm is the reward. Maayan sends you some motivating words.
Then have a break and jump on the light train of thoughts to enjoy blurred reflections: on the water and in your mind. Sing your body beautiful and free. Words come in bubbles, a heart-throb away from a light tower. Feel like stumbling into new adventures on a pathless terrain.
Slowly and cautious, the novemberme, which is the one that approaches dawn, celebrates tristesse with a funny accent. Kick the blues with a beat. Somewhere lost but regenerated, find sisyphos’ generator of vitality. A nascent religious mood at the Autobahn service station fades into the fog.
Finally, the circle of pace is almost closed. After laughter of amazement, Maayan leaves you with a soothing mantra of confidence: an everyday ritual fun you should indulge yourself in. It comes in waves.

Wareika invite us to their „Harmonie Park“, a place created by the love of improvisation. At the park, poles have shifted already! Florian Schirmacher, Jakob Seidensticker and Henrik Raabe, all full-time musicians, tuned their instruments to introduce us to this parallel universe. It.s about the various possible perceptions of one single moment. Loops and sequences, subjected to virtual tempo changes, without leaving the Bpm scale. In the park, everything is always in the flow. Jazz / Techno / Funk / House, all elements that appear / dissapear throughout the composition. Wareika manage to bring all this together effortlessly, without even thinking in those categories. The deeper you get into the park, the more you get absorbed by the dynamics of interlaced, polyrhythmic modulations. Luckily the groove acts like the park ranger, showing you around while
taking care no one gets lost in hypnotic structures waiting on the way. At the end, this pulsating soundcluster leads into the great river named bassline, leaving us quite harmonized..... !! This release comes in a special format !! We made „Harmonie Park“ available in 4 parts on 2x12“ Vinyl. More

Repress!
Invisible City returns with the hotly anticipated reissue of Amajovi Jovi by Durban’s O.G. kwaito giant, Sandy B. Originally self-released on cassette and a white label 12”, rumour has it Sandy had to remake the tracks from memory because even he couldn’t find a copy. In its original post-apartheid context, Amajovi Jovi was a sign of youthful subversiveness, rebellious creativity and a neck snapping rejection to the fascist groove of a silenced nation. While the Pantsulla hustler nods to house legends like Jamie Principle and Pal Joey, its hip hop breaks and interludes show a clear affection for Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle. At its slowed down tempo however, this low-fi kwaito masterpiece turns away from its American influence and looks towards Baldelli and his cosmos. Best of all are Sandy’s vocals— deep, melodic Zulu rap, sung flippantly—the way that only a true gangster could. It now stands as one of the finest glimpses of 90s party music to ever be blasted at the underground parties of the South African townships A huge fave of Jamie Tiller, Tako and ICE, we are proud to present a limited vinyl and cassette reissue from one of the godfathers of kwaito. Remastered and restored from the original cassette tape. Designed by Zeitype. More

SHORT INFO:
Teatro Del Metapresente is the debut album by La Nuit Je Mens, a duo hailing from the Parisian
suburbs and southern Italy. Now based in Rome, the two artists have crafted a striking sound that
merges their DIY ethos with raw, unfiltered energy.
Driven by synthetic, minimalist rhythms created on a fleet of analog machines, the seven tracks pay
homage to the sound of the '80s – yet entirely forward-looking and embracing the dancefloor modernity.
Blending genres such as EBM, synth-pop and minimal-cold-wave, paired with French vocals, the album
delves into themes of underground activities, the slow decay of the club scene and the depths of
emotional yearning.
Released on the Berlin-Basel-based label Reach Another System, Teatro Del Metapresente follows the
previously released 7” and reinforces the duo's own sound and unique identity.
VITAL SALES POINTS:
- Also known under their solo projects Rawmance and Asymmetrical
- In summer 2024, the duo released their first 7" single, which was very well appreciated More

Short info:
Wilson Tanner’s 69 returns to Australian soil for a new season. A uniquely provincial take on ambient music, Andrew Wilson (Andras) and John Tanner (Eleventeen Eston) assembled their prized debut over a shared love of seafood, wine and LPG. Recorded in a Perth backyard, these two new friends reached for the tools at hand and made the best of the fine weather. Instrument and implement combine in a languorous bricolage of synthesizer, clarinet and building materials - interrupted only by the occasional flutter of pigeon wings or a call to lunch. Raphael Roginski’s "Plays John Coltrane & Langston Hughes" is an expanded reissue of his 2015 album, previously unreleased on vinyl and long out of print on CD. It has only grown in stature over the years, for Roginski’s solo guitar interpretations – or reimaginings – of John Coltrane, which draw on the guitarist's unique and immediately recognizable style, rooted in jazz, blues and global folk idioms.
Part of a series called Populista, the album was originally released by Warsaw imprint Bôlt Records. Curator Michal Libera describes the series as “dedicated to mis- or over-interpretation of existing music”. Roginski’s "Plays John Coltrane & Langston Hughes" fits perfectly into the concept, given the distance that the guitarist travels from the original form of Coltrane’s compositions, although, as Libera notes, it was “simply handed to me as a finished work”.
Approaching Coltrane's singular, spirited music with a perspective formed outside the jazz tradition, Roginski slowed the songs down, extracting polyphonic tensions, and striving for an intimacy and mysticism that transcends genre. The way the music turned out struck the guitarist as a revelation. “Suddenly these songs became full of glowing moving pictures, with a melancholy, but also with something like promise,” he says.
Roginski says, “At that time, I lived in an apartment with the branches of a fig tree growing into it. I sat in 35-degree heat under its leaves, on the carpet, and discovered the polyphony of this music. I met a broken person on the street around this time. She moved in with me for a few days, a victim of an ultra-religious family from which she had escaped. She slept on the couch all day, recovering, and I started playing. As if for her. I had to breathe light into her life and I did what I do best, and that is how this music came into being.”
The album also includes two tracks drawing on poems by Langston Hughes, a central figure of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s and ’30s, and one of the innovators of jazz poetry. Roginski’s long-standing interest in mystical experiences across cultures brought him to the Hughes poems he pays tribute to, poems he says are “full of brilliance and goodness”. The line “I’ve known rivers: ancient, dusky rivers” makes an implicit connection with the images of flowing water and the Black Sea that run through Roginski’s later album "Talàn", as well as the lakes of the Polish-Lithuanian borderlands in "Žaltys". Roginski’s singular musical vocabulary is guided by an abiding belief in the interconnectedness of all things.
The expanded reissue includes four new tracks recorded in Warsaw in the summer of 2024, years after the original recordings, yet reaching back to the concept of radically reinterpreting the work of Coltrane. Roginski’s playing has subtly shifted, imbued now with an even deeper gentleness and intimacy that echoes "Talàn". As always, the playing is dazzling, recorded solo without overdubs. The idea for the new tracks came from Roginski himself; one suspects that he could play and reinterpret this music endlessly, and he recorded them after a marathon stretch of 52 concerts in three months. “Playing live strengthens what we do in the studio,” Roginski says. “There is even more light now in these songs.”
The cover of the reissue features three paintings from Marcin Janusz’s larger work "Kalendarz 2023", connecting it visually to Roginski’s album Žaltys, released earlier this year by Unsound. More

"A mesmerizing Japanese ambient techno masterpiece that that completely rewires how you perceive music" Electronic Beats
"A mountainous Masterpiece. A powerful testament to rave culture's establishment and the birth of a new scene in Japan emerging in the mid '90s. One of Yokota's most celebrated work that merges Japanese new age and minimal techno"
Alex From Tokyo (Japan Vibrations, world famous, Paris)
GENRE/S: Techno, Acid, Ambient
New liner notes by Alex From Tokyo
On July 26th Susumu Yokota's venerated 1994 classic 'Acid Mt. Fuji' is reissued in expanded, deluxe fashion, as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the label that originally presented it. Japan's Musicmine - specifically it's electronic subsidiary Sublime Records - released the album on June 29th 1994, simultaneously with Ken Ishii's 'Reference To Difference', as their inaugural joint offering.
'Acid Mt. Fuji' is an enchanting mix of mystical ambient acid and futurist minimal techno, taking the listeners on a psychedelic pilgrimage, where 303, synths and electronic percussion are scented with reverb, echo and forest recordings. Merging Japanese new age and sparse electronica, the recording is free, organic, and energized - proffering a unique blend of early 90s western styles and the essence of his home country.
Yokota originally planned an ambient record, but 'Acid Mt. Fuji' evolved into a concept work featuring the Roland TB-303, which he recorded live at home alongside a sampler, yielding experimental and innovative results.
The longplayer found its muse in the famed 18th-19th century artist Hokusai's red rendition of Mt. Fuji, known as 'Red Fuji' or 'Akafuji'. Part of the painter's renowned 'Thirty Six Views of Mt. Fuji' series from the 1830s, 'Red Fuji' depicts the iconic sacred mountain aglow in red at dawn, symbolizing spirituality and creativity. With references to Japanese folklore, nature and shrines, tracks like 'Kinoko' and 'Meijijingu' invite the listener to immerse themselves in the album's spiritual depths.
Yokota's own homage-to-Hokusai drawing graces the record's cover, and was inspired by the concept of wa (harmony) - highlighting his diverse skills not only as a musician, but an artist and designer too.
'Acid Mt. Fuji' is a powerful testament to the establishment of rave culture in Japan, which rapidly developed within just two years, from 1992 to 1994. Largely due to praise for the breathtaking originality of the LP, within this burgeoning national techno scene, Yokota rose to prominence as one of its key figures.
He then became one of the most renowned artists to emerge from his homeland and enter the global electronic pantheon. He inspired a new wave of Japanese producers and DJs, contributing significantly to the growth of the techno movement in Japan.
Yokota was a solitary figure, an artist who expressed his life through the continuous creation of music. For those seeking something different; mystical, soothing, pristinely ergonomic and uniquely Japanese, this record stands as iconic as Mt. Fuji itself.

This triple vinyl Deluxe Edition includes the original album's eleven tracks alongside five raw and jacking rare gems, available on wax for the first time, which were previously included only in the Japanese 2016 Deluxe Edition CD.
There are also two digital-only bonus tracks. One is a live performance by Yokota, titled 'Live at Shibuya Beam Hall', which was recorded at Sublime Records' label launch party, held in September 1994. It was previously only released on the aforementioned 2016 Japanese CD edition. This event, titled 'Sublime Records Presents New Style of Electronic Ambient Party' featured performances by Susumu Yokota, Ken Ishii, Yoshihiro Sawasaki, Speedy J and DJ Wada. This ten minute long, rare live recording captures Yokota playing a dynamic, fast paced acid house live jam, using two TB-303s and a drum machine. The other digital only bonus track is an alternative version of 'H', which was discovered recently whilst excavating a DAT.
The liner notes are written by DJ/producer Alex From Tokyo, who was a good friend of Yokota, and experienced the 90s Tokyo club scene first-hand as an insider. His compilation 'Japan Vibrations Vol. 1' captures this golden era, and features music by Prism (Susumu Yokota), Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono, Yasuaki Shimizu, Quadra (Hiroshi Watanabe) and more.
