This is Nala Sinephro's debut original film score, for Benny Safdie's The Smashing Machine, which was premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival (to a 15min standing ovation!!) ahead of its official release on October 3rd. The Smashing Machine explores the story of legendary mixed martial arts & UFC fighter Mark Kerr, and it stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt. The score was composed, produced, arranged, mixed and mastered by Nala Sinephro, and it features performances by longstanding collaborators James Mollison, Nubya Garcia, Lyle Barton, Dwayne ‘Wonky Logic’ Kilvington, Morgan Simpson, Natcyet Wakili, Mark Mollison and Sheila Maurice-Grey. As well as the London orchestra Orchestrate, who previously provided strings for Sinephro’s 2024 critically acclaimed album, Endlessness.

Neither of these albums have been repressed since their original release and have been widely unavailable for over 15 years.

Incunabula, the debut full-length offering from Autechre finally made available again on vinyl, having been out of print on vinyl since 2001. Having first emerged onto a post-acid house 1993, Incunabula was released as part 7 of the now legendary Artificial Intelligence series of albums and compilations from Warp. A series that gave us early records from artists who went on to sculpt the electronic landscape both in and out of the club. Being lined up against such contemporaries as Black Dog Productions (Balil and Plaid) Aphex under his Polygon Window guise, Richie Hawtin's FUSE project, Speedy J, B12 & on the series' closing compilation, artists as diverse as Seefeel, Richard H Kirk & The Higher Intelligence Agency. Incunabula set the tone for the following landmark albums from Ae, huge caustic dissections of sound that almost resemble vast mathematical equations more than they do club fodder (though tracks like the breakbeat whip crack of Doctrine and the acidic euphoria of Maetl, which when deployed by the right DJ will go off). For those just arriving at the edge of Ae's world and are looking for an entry point into the sprawling discography of the group, or those of you looking to delve into the pre-MaxMSP archives, this is the record for you. There is not much we can say that has not been said before, but this truly is a landmark album of UK electronica, a legendary recording that still even after twenty-six years still sounds like a future we are yet to arrive at.

1993 debut album by the trio of Andrew Weatherall, Jagz Kooner and Gary Burns. Unavailable on vinyl and CD since original release. Remastered from the original tapes by Matt Colton, contains “Smokebelch II (Beatless Mix)” for the first time on the 2LP edition.
Coming off the back of his work on the era-defining Screamadelica album by Primal Scream, not to mention groundbreaking remix work for the likes of New Order, My Bloody Valentine and the Happy Mondays, Weatherall was as revered by fans of indie guitar music as he was namechecked by hardcore ravers. The increasing demands on his services led to a studio partnership with Kooner and Burns, forming the production trio The Sabres Of Paradise (named after a 1960 book about a Muslim chieftain’s efforts to repel a Russian invasion).
The opening track on Sabresonic (named after the popular weekly club night Weatherall was then running) started life as a remix of the Primal Scream track “Don’t Fight It Feel It” but got so radically mutated that it turned into something entirely new. As well as reflecting on contemporary trends in dance music (“Inter-Legen-Ten-ko” is a swipe at the IDM genre name), the album also brought in older influences - “R.S.D” is an acronym for “Red Stripe Dub”, the deep influence of King Tubby et al evident at various points throughout the album, whilst the epic icy vistas of the 14 minute+ “Clock Factory” are informed by the electronic experiments of industrial groups such as Coil. The album also flagged future trends in electronic music, with the timeless “Smokebelch II (Beatless Mix)”, a beautiful re-work of an old Chicago house tune by Lamont Booker, becoming a staple of chillout compilation CDs for the rest of the decade.

The Guardian later summed up Haunted Dancehall as “techno’s first concept album”.

Following the release of his new collaborative album Tall Tales with Thom Yorke, a 2LP vinyl repress of Mark Pritchard’s previous solo album Under The Sun will be available on 25 July via Warp Records.
Originally released in 2016, Under The Sun is one story told in chapters and, as with any good story, the spell is only maintained if you don't skip to the end. Pritchard, as usual, defies easy categorisation and that is what gives depth and nuance to this work. He draws on the sounds and influences genetically coded in his musical DNA; ambient, nu-wave, avant-garde electronics and folk; but reimagines them through an otherworldly filter that cements Under The Sun somewhere in the future, rather than the past.
The album features contributions from peers and friends including Thom Yorke, Linda Perhacs, Bibio, and Beans, and explores themes of beauty, desolation, and longing for home.

The first thing that grabs you about Altin Gün"s new album is the energy. With Ask, the Amsterdam-based sextet turn away from the electronic, synth-drenched sound of their 2021 albums, Alem and Yol. While those two, created at home during the pandemic, paid homage to the electronic pop of the 80s and early 90s, Ask, marks an exuberant return to the 70s Anatolian folk-rock sound that characterised Altin Gün"s first two albums, On (2018) and Gece (2019). But there"s development here too. Ask is the closest the band have come so far to capturing the infectious energy of their live performances. "It"s definitely connecting more with a live sound - almost like a live album," says bassist Jasper Verhulst. "We, as a band, just going into a rehearsal space together and creating music together instead of demoing at home." "We didn"t record it like we did the last album," agrees vocalist Merve Dasdemir. "We basically produced that one at home because of the pandemic. Now we"ve gone back to recording live on tape." How many more worlds do Altin Gün visit in this joyful expedition? "Rakiya Su Katamam" is glowering space rock as though Gong had taken a stopover on the Bosphorus. "Canim Oy" is a psychedelic freakbeat stomper from a world where Istanbul"s Kadiköy district was the Carnaby Street of the east. "Güzelligin On Para Etmez" is a dreamy acid-folk anthem. He made his debut on the Italian music scene as the founding member of Avida, a dance-cabaret band featuring Daniele Trambusti and Stefano Fuoch. in 1983 he attained international popularity with his track "Probl?mes d'amour", published first by the Italian label Materiali Sonori and then by Sire-Wea. "Probl?mes d'amour" went on to become a "cult track" of the disco scene. It became quite an import hit in America's underground club scene, and sparked the mini-LP "Ce N'est Qu'un D?but" that same year (originally released on Materiali Sonori in 1984 (Italy). It consists of 6 captivating tracks including the hit "Probl?mes d'amour" as well as the track "Dance boy dance" which has appeared on other cult disco compilations. "Ce N'est Qu'un D?but" will appeal to lovers of Italo disco, early new wave, and minimal pop. Presented on high-quality black vinyl. Minor upgrades to the artwork also present. Limited Edition.

Across two mammoth, critically acclaimed compilations Berlin-based Musician and DJ Curses' Next Wave Acid Punx series has shone a blacklight onto the darker side of club music. Featuring tracks from the 1970s right up to the present day made by both musical legends and up and coming talents alike, Curses has expertly threaded the needle between Experimental Pop, Post Punk, EBM, Electro, Techno and more to produce a stunning alternative history of clubland.
But, as every good digger knows, there's always more gems to uncover and so once again Curses has crowbarred open the electronic music's vaults to bring us four more long forgotten tracks, each one "Revamped" for maximum Dancefloor effect with Curses himself providing 2 edits alongside precision tooled reworks from Melbourne based Stockholm Syndrome and NYC's Andi.
First up from Curses is his Revamp of Deborah Sasson's (Carmen) Danger In Her Eyes, a curio from the wildly inventive mid late 80s that saw the American opera singer collaborate with German producers MCL (MicroChipLeague). A European chart topper on its original release, it's long since languished in obscurity but in Curses' hands is now ready to once again add more than a touch of melodrama to dancefloors.
For his second edit, Curses reworks J.W.B. Hits The Beat's House Fatale, having previously taken a razor to their Body On Body track on Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX. Originally released in 1988, House Fatale is a classic example of just how fast electronic music was evolving back then, bringing together elementsof Electro, Freestyle, House and more amongst a riot of samples, all elements Curses retains whilst nudging the tempo and giving the track a harder edge.
Sticking with the same Westside label that gave us House Fatale, Stockholm Syndrome turns his attention to Voyou's Houseman. Or, as it happens, the 1988 edit by LA's Razormaid that first honed its edges for club play and merged the title track with its b-side. The resulting edit rejuvenates this classic slice of late Cold War club music, its pounding beat, portentous strings and the repeated overdriven vocal refrain of Germany Calling perfect for basement clubs today, in Berlin and beyond.
Finally to complete the EP we have sample-heavy 1988 cut Not Leaving Without Jerry by Belgian duo Marc Borgions & Jo Lijnen aka Philadelphia Five. Originally produced by Luc Van Acker, (better known for his work with the likes of Front 242, Ministry and Revolting Cocks), the track has been handed over to NYC producer Andi, who ups the tempo and hones in on the rhythm section, putting the focus on the staccato drums and throbbing bass line the focal point now and creating a perfect soundtrack for sweat lashed bodies.
Together these four tracks revisit a moment in clubland when the rules were still being written, as Curses explains. "This was a pivotal moment where all genres were still evolving, figuring out what sounds would eventually become staple elements of one another which gave it all this naive, innocent and punk feel. You've got Trance arpeggios, those heavy snares of early EBM, chopped vocals in the style of Chicago and NY formative House music all mixed with Electrofunk and percussive Latin freestyle grooves. A time when we were dancing without boundaries, something very much in the spirit of Next Wave Acid Punx."
