*After spending five years stealthy developing the project through a series of bi-annual and hand- stamped set of releases, eked via his eponymous imprint, in 2011 Sleeparchive joined Tresor with 'Ronan Point'-an EP of tracks constructed directly from material from Semsroth's live set. Now comes more fresh works from the master of haunting, compelling minimalism in this first instalment of a two-part EP for the label.
*Taking its title from one of Brassaï's famous sequence of prints, 'A Man Dies In The Street Pt.1' translates the eight snapshots of a man collapsing on a Parisian sidewalk (captured by Brassaï in 1932) into a chilling storyboard of subtle fluctuations, ebbs and monochrome tones. As ever the genius is in the reductive palette, that here Semsroth paints into a rich splay of emotions mimicking the initial anxious discovery of the body, the curiosity of the gathering crowd, the excitement and building anticipation through to an aggressive and pummelling sense of realisation on the close. But is it at the loss of life, or the loss of spectacle? As Brassaï toys with ambiguity in his photographs, Sleeparchive's music is just as hazy, deep and full of shady nuances that, like treasure, only appear if you're willing to keep probing.

Throughout his career, Roger Semsroth has followed a deep intuition for experimentation in sound, wrapping club music around eerie microtonal motifs and industrial sensibilities. This new work for Tresor takes a step forward, as the first true techno album from Sleeparchive, where his previous LPs have exhibited themselves more conceptually, or under di erent names and his Nord Vest label.
Semsroth has been active in electronic music since the late 90s. He received initial attention first for his electro productions under the alias Skanfrom and the 80s minimal synth inspired Television Set. These projects echoed his love for these sounds, which the East Berliner had steadily immersed himself with after the end of the GDR. Upon hearing the bleeps of Mika Vainio and Plastikman, he began to engage with his strain of techno. Over the last decade, he has focused on his Sleeparchive alias, which dates back to 2004. Alongside close friend DJ Pete, he performs live techno as TR-101. His relationship with Tresor began in 2011, first releasing the Ronan Point EP and following up with the crucial A Man Dies In The Street series in 2013.
With this new album, Sleeparchive's impact on the techno sound is ever more relevant. Awaking in constant locomotion, locked-in, unrelenting and dry. Sleeparchive's churning loops etch visions of tight minimalism at times densely frenetic and others serenely galactic. This predilection continues throughout the four sides on the album, eschewing conventional arrangement styles with gradual probabilistic change. Tracks such as 'Needle' and 'Peccant' o er up precise, sinewy techno. 'Leave' recalls the Detroit sound of Terrence Dixon, with its cascading synth tones and droning atmospheres. The album closes with a di erent version of 'Trust' to that found on last year's Revised Recordings EP released on Tresor, with its now-familiar nerve-inducing pizzicato strings even more at the fore with its mechanic delivery.

Six years have passed since Sleeparchive aka Roger Semsroth produced the phenomenal "A Man Dies In The Street" EP series for Tresor. Semsroth then went on to produce under this and other aliases (Nordvest, Civil Defence Programme) on his own eponymous imprint.
With the "Revised Recordings EP", Sleeparchive continues to research and master the dense constructed rhythmic textures that have become his signature sound. The three titles are magistral demonstration of Semsroth's high-hand at designing such labyrinthine structures, ever so strongly rooted in an exalted past, yet always thrusting forward.
Ongoing with his Sleep Cycle series, he includes six tightly locked grooves cut on the A-side, only available on vinyl format.
TRACKLIST: A1. Frost (06:00) A2-A7. Sleep Cycles ( locked grooves) B1. Wood (04:40) B2. Trust (v.2 )( 05:03)

It s time for our 20th release on Float Records. And who's better to celebrate this with than Sleeparchive. There is enough brilliance to choose from, but it all starts with 15 minutes of superiority on the 5x3 loop tracks on the A-side with that typical Sleeparchive sound. All containing disturbing drums followed by upperclass sequences which keeps on going. The B-side starts with title track Letter of Resignation. Is this a clue from Sleeparchive? The future will tell. What we do know is that it continues where the A-side stopped. Again heavy hitting drums followed by a frisk sequence. He continues this formula on the 2nd track called Solitary Drinker. And above all we give you a small bonus with 2 locked groove presents: Sleep Cycle 17 & 18.

sleeparchive - B2 Sleeparchive ? Window-092 (Oscar Mulero Remix)
We are glad to welcome the mighty Sleeparchive to our family. The Berliner gives us two original tracks plus two remixes by label boss Oscar Mulero. 'Window 057' is an arpeggiated tool made of a crazy synth sequence, shuffled hats and subtle kick drums in a constantly moving structure. 'Window 092' starts with a massive bass drum accompanied by synthetic bleeps and noises that soon are joined by repetitive sequences carrying the flow. Oscar Mulero's remix for 'Window 057' is a cleaner approach to the original, less shuffled on the rhythms but with a lot more movement on the arpeggiated synth lines. The 'Window 092' remake slows down the pressure on behalf of a more liquid approach on the drums, and is more reverberated and deep. Oscar adds more percussive elements and puts the bleeps away using the main sequence as the centre of the arrangement.

Juan Atkins' Infiniti project combines raw tactility and puristic elegance with Skynet, where slinking grooves mask chaotic frequencies and roughly-hewn structure. Alongside fellow Detroit legend Terrence Dixon who appears on several tracks, Atkins exposes the life and emotion in machines, outputting a biomorphic atmosphere of industrial soul. The ongoing importance of this album is indisputable, essential both to techno and to Tresor. More

If there's one thing Jonas Kopp has proven over the last decade is that he can turn his hand to just about anything. Since debuting on P?rter's revered MindTrip Music back in 2006, the Buenos Aires native has managed to rack up a rich and compelling discography, coursing with ease through electronic music's various forms. From warm Chicago house through to deep, dark and driving techno on labels like Deeply Rooted House, Stroboscopic Artefacts and more, Kopp's hypnotic and heady sentiment has remained the red thread throughout, which has allowed him to ?ourish as one of techno's more liberal dance ?oor purveyors. More recently, for Illian Tape he strayed out of the ring entirely to deliver two billowing, orchestral-sized ambient works; proof that there's still plenty more to come from someone already so well-versed and dexterous in his craft. Red Plented EP weaves Kopp's discursive repertoire into a single and concise narrative, covering both familiar ground and exploring new and spellbinding territories, along with just a hint of cosmic neo-retroism that makes this a welcomed edition to the Tresor catalogue. Despite having just a single release on the label so far, "X" featuring on DJ Hell's 2013 Kern Vol.2 compilation, Kopp has been a ?rm ?xture at the club since 2011. Jonas Kopp is the next in line of contemporary luminaries that Tresor proudly welcomes to the fold.

Marcelus returns to Tresor Records with 'Shine', the third EP on the Berlin powerhouse. Following the shiny and warm 'Emerald' EP released a year ago, Marcelus presents here a diverse EP reviewing the many facets of the extra-talented Parisian producer. While the A-side is adamantly tough and aimed to be used and abused in the vault during the most feverish and damp hours, Marcelus offers two delicate and very personal numbers on the B-side. A complex and rich 12" to be discovered in very different listening atmospheres.

Fifteen years have passed since the release of the first and only 'Demo Tracks' compilation to date on Tresor Records. For this new commencement, we are proud to present three exceptional upcoming producers, selected amongst the various different paperboard envellopes and electronic communications received daily, here in the vault. Acronym has been slowly and mysteriously instructing his sound over the last three years through his own Dimensional Exploration imprint out of Stockholm. With 'Nabu' he presents a dimension of his work so far only known to those who had the chance to hear him perform live. Hailing from the northern Spanish surroundings of Bilbao, J.C. is a young producer whose work has surfaced on labels like Deeply Rooted or Greener. He also runs an eponymous record series and offers here a shaking number 'CheNox', keeping his ears riveted on the Berlin sound. Last but far from least, Zadig is a producer who has been regularly catching our attention.
Growing figure of the French and Parisian scene, his polished sound possesses many different facets. With 'Panic', Zadig looks back to some of the crudest moments of the Tresor catalog.

Not much more than a year has passed since the Zenker Brothers presented their debut EP – ‘Lion in Mars’ – on Tresor Records. The follow-up record segues perfectly between a triumphant year in the studio and in performance, and a 2014 which promises to take their growing reputation for blazing techno to new heights. ‘Stratus Phunk’ is an incendiary record, developing the ideas seeded in their first release to their fullest extent. The title track runs along the entire A-side. Building the raw acoustic sounds of wind. instruments into a rolling jam which soon becomes an unstoppable locomotive, shape -shifting in and out of smoky synth lines, tracky hi-hats and acetic basslines, « Stratus Phunk » is a vintage tune forged in the Tresor basement furnace. On the flip, « Thirty-Two » and « Vamp Like » explore the more splintered dimensions of the Münich based brothers’ work, familiar to whoever follows the releases on their own Ilian Tape label.

*Hot on the heels of DJ Deep's inaugural Kern mix for Tresor comes 'Kern Vol.2', selected and mixed by Gigolos boss DJ Hell. Hell has a track record of releasing benchmark mixes, most notably the wildly eclectic mix for Belgian club FUSE in 2000, and 1995's 'X-Mix 5: Wildstyle', whose concept he feels is 'not far away from Kern Vol.2'. *For 'Kern Vol.2', the Munich / Berlin machine dug deep into his vast collection to unite early House and Techno with the new wave. To start the process, he searched in the most obvious place: his basement. *The second 12" - The Rarities - is a precious collection of forgotten early '90s grooves. On the A-side, none other than Mr. Daniel Bell contributes to this special Kern Vol.2 with a track that has never seen the light of day since its year of production, 1992 - the "Chicago Style" version of his legendary 'Blip' title. A collector's piece.
*The B-side starts with NYC '90s ?xtures Lenny Dee and Ralphie Dee's (aka Major Problems) Overdose, a 1990 relentless number originally released on Nu Groove. Back to '92 with Sub-Culture's 'Dreams' released on Hayden Brown's own imprint Strobe. All mixes on the original and rare 12" are simply excellent, and DJ Hell chooses here the forgotten Tribal Life Mix.

It's not just the music - after 20 years there are so many memories that come back". *The ?rst 12" - The Exclusives - comes packed with previously unreleased tracks, specially crafted for Kern Vol.2 and carefully selected and re-edited by DJ Hell. *Argentinean producer extraordinaire Jonas Kopp offers his own interpretation of the Hell sounds with 'X', an incendiary and wreckless number of instant gritty appeal. On the ?ip, two reworks operated by Hell specially for the occasion. The infamous Flashback '86 by Capracara receives a raw treatment, for full dance?oor effect. The 1993 classic by Halogen (aka Zach Roberts), Bliss gets extended and reconstructed with complete new drums. *Hell feels that 'Kern Vol.2' is a product of crate digging and vinyl culture, but rather than keeping it to himself, he wants to share it with as many people as possible: "This music is very powerful & timeless and had a huge in?uence on me. I have been Djing since the late 1970s and playing house since 1985 - this is my life." *As autobiographies go, 'Kern Vol.2' makes for a compelling opening chapter. *TRACKLISTING: A.
