Alongside fellow Detroit legend Terrence Dixon who appears on several tracks, Atkins exposes the life and emotion in machines, outputting a biomorphic atmosphere of industrial soul. The ongoing importance of this album is indisputable, essential both to techno and to Tresor.

If there's one thing Jonas Kopp has proven over the last decade is that he can turn his hand to just about anything. Since debuting on P?rter's revered MindTrip Music back in 2006, the Buenos Aires native has managed to rack up a rich and compelling discography, coursing with ease through electronic music's various forms. From warm Chicago house through to deep, dark and driving techno on labels like Deeply Rooted House, Stroboscopic Artefacts and more, Kopp's hypnotic and heady sentiment has remained the red thread throughout, which has allowed him to ?ourish as one of techno's more liberal dance ?oor purveyors. More recently, for Illian Tape he strayed out of the ring entirely to deliver two billowing, orchestral-sized ambient works; proof that there's still plenty more to come from someone already so well-versed and dexterous in his craft. Red Plented EP weaves Kopp's discursive repertoire into a single and concise narrative, covering both familiar ground and exploring new and spellbinding territories, along with just a hint of cosmic neo-retroism that makes this a welcomed edition to the Tresor catalogue. Despite having just a single release on the label so far, "X" featuring on DJ Hell's 2013 Kern Vol.2 compilation, Kopp has been a ?rm ?xture at the club since 2011. Jonas Kopp is the next in line of contemporary luminaries that Tresor proudly welcomes to the fold.

Marcelus returns to Tresor Records with 'Shine', the third EP on the Berlin powerhouse. Following the shiny and warm 'Emerald' EP released a year ago, Marcelus presents here a diverse EP reviewing the many facets of the extra-talented Parisian producer. While the A-side is adamantly tough and aimed to be used and abused in the vault during the most feverish and damp hours, Marcelus offers two delicate and very personal numbers on the B-side. A complex and rich 12" to be discovered in very different listening atmospheres.

Fifteen years have passed since the release of the first and only 'Demo Tracks' compilation to date on Tresor Records. For this new commencement, we are proud to present three exceptional upcoming producers, selected amongst the various different paperboard envellopes and electronic communications received daily, here in the vault. Acronym has been slowly and mysteriously instructing his sound over the last three years through his own Dimensional Exploration imprint out of Stockholm. With 'Nabu' he presents a dimension of his work so far only known to those who had the chance to hear him perform live. Hailing from the northern Spanish surroundings of Bilbao, J.C. is a young producer whose work has surfaced on labels like Deeply Rooted or Greener. He also runs an eponymous record series and offers here a shaking number 'CheNox', keeping his ears riveted on the Berlin sound. Last but far from least, Zadig is a producer who has been regularly catching our attention. Growing figure of the French and Parisian scene, his polished sound possesses many different facets. With 'Panic', Zadig looks back to some of the crudest moments of the Tresor catalog.

Not much more than a year has passed since the Zenker Brothers presented their debut EP – ‘Lion in Mars’ – on Tresor Records. The follow-up record segues perfectly between a triumphant year in the studio and in performance, and a 2014 which promises to take their growing reputation for blazing techno to new heights. ‘Stratus Phunk’ is an incendiary record, developing the ideas seeded in their first release to their fullest extent. The title track runs along the entire A-side. Building the raw acoustic sounds of wind. instruments into a rolling jam which soon becomes an unstoppable locomotive, shape -shifting in and out of smoky synth lines, tracky hi-hats and acetic basslines, « Stratus Phunk » is a vintage tune forged in the Tresor basement furnace. On the flip, « Thirty-Two » and « Vamp Like » explore the more splintered dimensions of the Münich based brothers’ work, familiar to whoever follows the releases on their own Ilian Tape label.

*Hot on the heels of DJ Deep's inaugural Kern mix for Tresor comes 'Kern Vol.2', selected and mixed by Gigolos boss DJ Hell. Hell has a track record of releasing benchmark mixes, most notably the wildly eclectic mix for Belgian club FUSE in 2000, and 1995's 'X-Mix 5: Wildstyle', whose concept he feels is 'not far away from Kern Vol.2'. *For 'Kern Vol.2', the Munich / Berlin machine dug deep into his vast collection to unite early House and Techno with the new wave. To start the process, he searched in the most obvious place: his basement. *The second 12" - The Rarities - is a precious collection of forgotten early '90s grooves. On the A-side, none other than Mr. Daniel Bell contributes to this special Kern Vol.2 with a track that has never seen the light of day since its year of production, 1992 - the "Chicago Style" version of his legendary 'Blip' title. A collector's piece. *The B-side starts with NYC '90s ?xtures Lenny Dee and Ralphie Dee's (aka Major Problems) Overdose, a 1990 relentless number originally released on Nu Groove. Back to '92 with Sub-Culture's 'Dreams' released on Hayden Brown's own imprint Strobe. All mixes on the original and rare 12" are simply excellent, and DJ Hell chooses here the forgotten Tribal Life Mix.

To start the process, he searched in the most obvious place: his basement. "I was ?nding records I didn't know that I still owned," he explains, adding that there are "so many stories behind each track. It's not just the music - after 20 years there are so many memories that come back". *The ?rst 12" - The Exclusives - comes packed with previously unreleased tracks, specially crafted for Kern Vol.2 and carefully selected and re-edited by DJ Hell. *Argentinean producer extraordinaire Jonas Kopp offers his own interpretation of the Hell sounds with 'X', an incendiary and wreckless number of instant gritty appeal. On the ?ip, two reworks operated by Hell specially for the occasion. The infamous Flashback '86 by Capracara receives a raw treatment, for full dance?oor effect. The 1993 classic by Halogen (aka Zach Roberts), Bliss gets extended and reconstructed with complete new drums. *Hell feels that 'Kern Vol.2' is a product of crate digging and vinyl culture, but rather than keeping it to himself, he wants to share it with as many people as possible: "This music is very powerful & timeless and had a huge in?uence on me. I have been Djing since the late 1970s and playing house since 1985 - this is my life." *As autobiographies go, 'Kern Vol.2' makes for a compelling opening chapter. *TRACKLISTING: A. Jonas Kopp - X B1. Capracara - Flashback '86 (DJ Hell's Kern Rework) B2. Halogen - Bliss (DJ Hell's Kern Rework)

After more than two decades of behind the scenes collaboration Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald present Borderland - their debut collaborative album to be released this summer on Tresor Records. The album - made up of 8 sequences, which seamlessly blend the styles of both masters - was recorded at the beginning of 2013 over various studio sessions in Berlin and will be released as a series of three 12"s and a CD album. *Limited to 500 units, pressed on heavy vinyl and packed in hefty sleeves, Electric Garden is the main recurring theme in Borderland, developed on this first EP in two different mixes. *While the “Original Mix” was produced during the first studio session conducted for this new collaboration, the “Deep Jazz In The Garden Mix” also features the performance of German trumpet player Sebastian Studnitzky. *Together with a live show being debuted in May at MUTEK festival - the record gives common voice to two independent yet mutually supporting musical journeys, achieving a singular expression of club-orientated electronic music and the freedom of organic musical experimentation.

Marcelus, - Unseen Force
After last year's dystopic debut, 'Super Strength EP', rising Parisian Cédric Bros AKA Marcelus returns to Tresor with something a little more deep and shiny in 'Emerald'. Once again Marcelus conjures up the spirits of Detroit and Berlin techno, moulding them here into dreamy modern house incantations-an inspired blurring of the lines the well-versed Frenchman has been rehearsing over the last decade. It was two astounding first releases for DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted House imprint that made the underground dance community sit up and take notice, records that emitted an unprecedented level of craftsmanship for a fresh-faced newcomer. He has continued to impress on follow up releases over the last few years, meanwhile proving to be a flexible and intriguing sound designer, playing with numerous styles and yet always turning in something distinctly 'Marcelus'. 'Emerald' is no different, but instead of tough and rushing euphoria, he delivers something altogether warm and frothy, revealing yet another side to this prismic producer, as well as adding a lighter node to the Tresor catalogue.

*After spending five years stealthy developing the project through a series of bi-annual and hand- stamped set of releases, eked via his eponymous imprint, in 2011 Sleeparchive joined Tresor with 'Ronan Point'-an EP of tracks constructed directly from material from Semsroth's live set. Now comes more fresh works from the master of haunting, compelling minimalism in this first instalment of a two-part EP for the label. *Taking its title from one of Brassaï's famous sequence of prints, 'A Man Dies In The Street Pt.1' translates the eight snapshots of a man collapsing on a Parisian sidewalk (captured by Brassaï in 1932) into a chilling storyboard of subtle fluctuations, ebbs and monochrome tones. As ever the genius is in the reductive palette, that here Semsroth paints into a rich splay of emotions mimicking the initial anxious discovery of the body, the curiosity of the gathering crowd, the excitement and building anticipation through to an aggressive and pummelling sense of realisation on the close. But is it at the loss of life, or the loss of spectacle? As Brassaï toys with ambiguity in his photographs, Sleeparchive's music is just as hazy, deep and full of shady nuances that, like treasure, only appear if you're willing to keep probing.

Techno was inevitable for the Zenker Brothers. Eldest brother Dario cottoned on first, using his family ties to Munich's infamous Ultraschall club to edge into the DJ booth as an enthusiastic teen. Following its demise he migrated to Harry Klein with the rest of the Ultraschall crew, picking up a residency in 2006 that has only just been brought to a close. It was at this stage Marco received his own electronic awakening. Inspired by a set of his brother's at the very same institution, he joined Dario there a year later. Production-wise, however, the brothers continued to pursue separate paths: Dario sewing an assortment of seeds and racking up a wayfaring collec- tion of records for labels like Frozen Border, Vakant, Time To Express and Traut Muzik. Meanwhile Marco was cultivating deep and dreamy techno on the Zenkers' own Ilian Tape stable. After years of playing and working together side by side, in 2011 they emerged in official collaboration as Zenker Brothers with 'Berg 10 EP'. Now, the Zenker Brothers are back with their first release for Tresor, brandishing a matured sound and level of sensitivity yet displayed by either before. 'Lion In Mars' is like a fresh breeze billowing through the Tresor vaults. Honing in on signa- tures from the archive and repackaging them in modern sentiment, here Zenker Brothers deliver a record that gleans through the generations to deliver a cunning symbiosis of techno future, past and present. On the A-side "Knighthof" and "The Future Is You" offer driving vintage basement techno with a Zenker twist, whilst B-side tracks "Davin" and "Cosmilian", the EP's clattering dystopic closer, blend Detroit tones together with their respective Ilian-proven pallets.

This winter Tresor dons hardhat and flashlight once again to exhume more lost treasures from its stated past. Under the guise of it's own 10-year dormant Archiv Series-which saw cuts from the likes of Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, Blake Baxter and Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes brought back to wax and dancefloors worldwide-comes a reissue EP straight from the heart of the club's former Wertheim department store days, courtesy of long-time resident Juan Atkins. *On the A-side there's the slow-burning spangled ballad "I Love You", from his 2004 record 'Fast Forward', while the B-side hosts the '95 version of a stone cold Metroplex classic: "Techno City", a track so slick it will never go out of style. Sit back and remember the good times, or discover them a-new, all over again

Tresor are pleased to announce KERN: a showcase of old meets new, house meets techno, in the form of an exciting mix series aimed at delivering fresh narratives in electronic dance music. *KERN will provide an insight into the tastes and personal histories of some of the scene's leading lights, allowing artists free reign to weave their own story through a mixture of rarities and brand new material. KERN transcends the usual parameters of an artist's mix to present a unique and timeless listening experience, which breaks down into a DJ-friendly and highly collectable trio of releases. *Kicking off the series is Parisian protagonist Cyril Etienne aka DJ Deep. Selected for his career-defining dedication to Detroit techno, NYC and Chicago house - "the roots" of house and techno - as DJ, producer and head of the Deeply Rooted House empire, DJ Deep heads back to his own origins to present KERN Vol.1: "As I was struggling to find an order through all the great material on the Tresor catalogue or what my label currently does, I came up with this idea of a DJ's diary - like the picture of a guy writing down in his notebook which new and classic tracks would be relevant today. I kept this concept in mind when making my selection, which really helped me to simply follow my feelings and the flow of the music." *The mix begins with a track recovered from the Tresor archives: A.E.S's "Music In My Head" produced by Arthur Forest, Eddie 'Flashin' Fowlkes and Santonio. The latter, who also brings a never-released title from '93 forth, "Amnesia". Along with Xperiment's "Karn Evil #10" and mix-closer "III", an early record from St. Germain as Deepside, these all make up The Rarities EP - one of two 12" records escorting KERN Vol.1 mixed by DJ Deep. The other 12" is a collection of tracks picked by DJ Deep exclusively for the compilation. Originally designed to appear on his "Computer Games" album in 2008, Kerri Chandler signs the a-side with "Cobal" - propped on the b-side by new French signee Marcelus, "Y02", and Psyk wielding his Maan alias on "Jackin".

S_W_Z_K, - Second City Of The Empire
Following the S_W_Z_K debut album, which came out on Tresor Records before the summer, David Brown offers here further insights into the most recent developments of his new departure. Receiving the help of long-time collaborator and friend Richard Davis, the duo continues its dive into the concrete and metallic landscapes found on their eponymous LP effort. *The Variant & Empires EP however marks somewhat of a slight departure from the obscure experimental investigations previously undertaken. "TC4 Variant" is a roaring number, aiming specially at the dancefloor and taking the duo's energy to its highest point, while "Second City Of The Empire" intimately unveils the deeper side of their enterprise.

Scan 7, - Why Not?
Synonymous with Detroit, Techno, and Tresor, Scan 7 have remained protagonists of the Berlin-Detroit axis since it was first forged in the sweaty obsidian of the club's original Wertheim vault home. Now, over 20 years later, the masked techno collective pay tribute to the triptych's matted histories on 'The Resistance EP'. *With identifiable nods to Scan 7's Underground Resistance affiliations - the label that launched the group, and whose militaristic and political philosophies can be found littered throughout their discography - the EP begins with quintessential Detroit strings and groove before delving into darker techno territory. On the A-side, "The Resistance" offers an uplifting and delightfully nostalgic jaunt through dance music past, using all those favourite and immortal house tropes to deliver instant gratification. Meanwhile, the B-side shows off Scan 7 as masters of warm, yet shadowy techno - plus their trademark drum work - in the hypnotic "Why Not?" and driving, basement-ready "In & Out Of The Groove". *Alongside many outings on Tresor's renowned compilation series, Scan 7 produced two albums for the label - 'Dark Territory' in 1996, followed up by 'Resurfaced' in 1999 - before leader TrackMasta Lou's Cratesavers Muzik took over as the group's primary recording outlet.

*Twelve years ago Tresor Records released Terrence Dixon's debut album 'From The Far Future' - a personal homage to the art and ancestry of techno, culminating in a discursive and dream-like course through the genre's many tomes, complete with subtle nods to key protagonists such as Kraftwerk, Derrick May and Juan Atkins. A luminescent and ethereal catalogue of tracks awash with shimmery synths and taught rhythmical programming - that still holds true today, 'From The Far Future' made for a stunning first full length that cemented Dixon's already proven credentials from his Population One work and Utensil Records foundations. *After a string of stylistically rich releases - including another album, 'Train Of Thought', this time for Cologne-based label Yore Records - the Detroit native returns to Tresor Records with 'From The Far Future Pt.2' - an ambitious, scopey and deeply personal sequel." 'From The Far Future' was special in many ways. It's over 12 years later and seems like yesterday to me, it really does," says Dixon. " 'From The Far Future Pt.2' is my real life drama playing out before your ears, it has everything on this album that has something to do with where I live. I wanted to make this album as huge as it could be. This is a statement album. A variety of tracks from a minimal point of view." *Taking the form of a fourteen-track CD and double vinyl LP, with just three overlaying tracks - the bubbly "Fountain of Life", uplifting "Horizon" and stung out "The Study", as well as two different versions on the atmospheric builder "Dark City of Hope" - 'From The Far Future Pt.2' is a masterful and extensive techno album that alludes to - without relying on - Dixon's Detroit heritage and affinities. Tracks like the CD's three dystopic numbers: "Path to Mystery", "The Auto Factory" and "Lead by Example", for example, deploy recognisable tropes of techno past, spun into a unique and inherently modern Dixon vernacular. *Elsewhere, warm syncopated house ("Self Centered"), wonky jazz ("The Switch"), grainy dub textures ("My Journey Here") and smoky ambience ("Vision Blurry") complete this rewardingly heterogeneous CD. Complementing the headiness of the CD, the eight-track vinyl version of 'From The Far Future Pt.2' has been curated squarely with the dance floor in mind, allowing Dixon's shrewd beat-smithery to come to the fore. *From the tough and punchy rhythms of "Light of Day" and "Band Together" to the discordant canters of jangly anthem "Sleight of Mind" and dubby "11th Floor", there's something here for any fan of freewheeling and well-versed techno.

*Succeeding Tresor’s landmark 250th release, Infiniti - The Remixes: a re-issue and remix package of selected tracks from Juan Atkins’ two LP’s as Infiniti, the Berlin powerhouse continues to push forward with the signing of fresh techno talent, Marcelus. *At just 25-years old and still in the inchoate phase of his production career, Cédric Bros- based in Paris—has already proven a level of sonic maturity and scope with his first two EPs for DJ Deep‘s Deeply Rooted House label. Assimilating the essence of early Detroit with modern Berlin, Marcelus’ brand of tough euphoric techno has found a true home on Tresor Records in both calling up the tropes of its back catalogue, whilst remaining thoroughly in tone with today’s darker dancehalls. *Turning in four tracks of increasingly dystopian proportions, the EP begins with “Super Strength”—a tone-setting chug through the swirling vistas of some 90’s imagined future. “Falcon” continues the retroactive theme with detuned chimes, switching up the pace into a more urgent march through plush hisses and crashes. “Radical Groove” is the EP’s feverish peak, a manic headless workout before pealing into blissed out reprieve with “Suspension”. *A rubber ball bassline bounds through melancholic ambiance in this poignantly beautiful closer, perfectly tailored for those subdued floor moments.

Tresor Records marks its 250th release with a very special project indeed. Continuing to forge ahead whilst remaining ever mindful of its legacy, Tresor proudly presents Infiniti - The Remixes: a trilogy of classic cuts and new reworks from one of its original Detroit linchpins Juan Atkins. * Dubbed as his "pure techno" project, Atkins produced two full-length albums under the Infiniti moniker-The Infiniti Collection, released by Tresor in 1996, and Skynet two years later. 16 years on and they are as relevant today as they were pioneering then, brought further up-to-date here with a series of fresh takes from some of techno's pioneering and esteemed figures: Thomas Fehlmann, TV Victor, Function, Redshape, Sleeparchive and the re-release of dubtechno vanguard Moritz Von Oswald's remix of "Think Quick", originally released in '94 on Metroplex. * Part One - The Orb's Thomas Fehlmann picked two tracks, one in each album, to form a very special combo-mix. The shimmering "Walking On Water" and "Raindrops" come together in a beautiful old- school sounding version. Tresor Records ambient stalwart TV Victor plies his vision to present a hypnotic take on the gently elevating "Thought Process". TRACKLISTING: A1. Walking On Water (Original Mix) A2. * Part Two picks up the pace, heading further down the timeline with "Flash Food"-originally released in 1995 as part of one of the label's famous annual compilations, re-edited by Sandwell District's Function. Skynet's punchy classic on the flip, "Skyway" rounds off the EP with a killer old-school remix by techno's masked crusader Redshape. TRACKLISTING: A1. Flash Flood (Original Mix) A2. Flash Flood (Function Remix) B1. Skyway (Original Mix) B2. Skyway (Redshape Mix)
