After Dana Ruh highly acclaimed contribution for the SOL10 compilation in 2018, now her 12inch follows with three driving, funky and percussive house tracks! As dj, producer and label owner (Brouquade, Cave Recordings) and co-distribution owner (KMA60), Dana Ruh is one of the driving forces of the Berlin club music scene. Beyond her world-renown dj skills and running a Berlin-based record shop & event space, Dana Ruh has become a prolific producer, who spends every free minute on developing her unique take on electronic music. She releases, not only on her own labels Brouquade and Cave Recordings, but also other imprints like Underground Quality, Ostgut Ton (in collaboration with André Galuzzi) and RDV. Her club music productions are defined by a particular hazy and moody touch. The tracks are well arranged and always contain the right amount of roughness, which lets the music sound alive and organic. With “Still Vase“, Dana Ruh presents three powerful titles from driving and percussive, to funky and stripped down. “My Friendly Fire“ sends us on a hypnotic drive accompanied by warm sub bass frequencies that make your trouser legs flutter. ”Takes Time“ brings you back to reality with its energetic drumming, and the funky, minimal “To Convince“ finalizes this ep with organic percussions and warm sounding strings. Only four releases into it’s blossoming back catalogue, and Molly’s RDV label continues to establish itself as an unmissable outlet for contemporary house and techno with an EP from long-established, always-vital German producer, Dana Ruh.
The twitchy, rhythmic ‘Natural High’ sets the rhythm, ideal for those easily seduced by Ruh’s indelibly tight drum work (or those about to be converted to it nonetheless). ‘Moonday’ then expands the sound with a deeply satisfying bassline that blossoms in myriad evocative directions, incorporating trippy acid fluctuations, haunting vocals and a general sense of strobe-lit urgency.On the flip, and ‘Vattenfall my A’ establishes the energy which which it shares its namesake, trading in a minimal but flexible bassline and eeking out each ounce of tension, in the confident, minimalist style Dana Ruh is beloved for. To close the EP, Molly herself takes ‘Vattenfall my A’ to task, tunneling deeper still with a remix that establishes several shades of fresh, sensual ambiguity, not to mention, an ominous bassline that flirts with the edge.

“There was no real concept behind the album, all I knew is that I wanted to do something honest. The tracks I make are the tracks I play in my sets and tracks I want people to dance to - that’s where the title comes from.” - Spencer Parker.
'Cruising Control' hits you hard from the off with a melting pot of industrial kicks, shuffling hats and expansive stabs. Following in a similar vein 'Remember' carries that same aesthetic with the addition of some throwback keys and a hypnotic vocal sample.
On the flip 'Cash Only' keeps on the Berlin techno tip that has been a common theme running through the LP, combining a ruthless, fist pumping beat with wobbly, mesmerising synthwork, sure to get the bodies moving.
To close out the last of the samplers, Parker conjures up those insular moments caught alone in the crowd, with nothing but the music to focus on. And with that provides the perfect tone to end this "Dance Music" sampler on, an LP Parker has created with the intention of making people dance firmly at the forefront of his mind. More

Part One of the sampler opens with ‘It Was Just A Dream’, a ghostly cauldron of glitches, bleeps and sound bites that locks you into a dazed state of hypnosis. Next up, ‘The Oh’ hits with a taste of classic house, marrying emotive stabs, a tough kick and fizzing ride cymbals.
On the B side, ‘You’re Under My Control Now’ takes the sound industrial combining a Kraftwerk-esque metronomic breath with rapid fire toms and a dynamic kick. ‘Absolutely Raving’ closes out the first of Parker’s ‘Dance Music’ samplers offering a rave leaning techno weapon that wouldn’t be out of place in the hallowed grounds of Berghain.

Russian producer Valya Kan debuts on Spencer Parker’s Work Them Records with a four track sampler from her subterranean album ‘Dust And Haze’.
‘Leave’ opens up the sampler with tantalising synths and dubby effects before you're lead into ‘Promises’ featuring Valya Kan’s voice, uttering the track title whilst syncopated percussion and ghostly atmospherics work their magic. Flip it over and you're hit with the whirring sci-fi elements and rattling samples in ‘Smoke In The Cockpit’. Rounding off the sampler ‘Acid Hotel’ is a more up-tempo, demonstrating rolling arpeggios and snappy snares. More

4 tracks of solarized muscular techno… Berlin-based producer Setaoc Mass is next to appear on Spencer Parker's Work Them roster with four commanding techno numbers in 'The M Scale' EP. Real name Sam Coates, Setaoc Mass was born and raised in Manchester and now resides in Berlin where he's appeared on the radar of fellow expat Spencer Parker... Kicking off the EP is which Man Ray' which kicks in with crunchy snares and a hypnotising riff, the next track 'Movement' unloads a viscous low-end alongside a metallic synth and ominous atmospherics. First up on the B side is 'Ulterior Motive' which triggers the release by unleashing a torrent of cavernous kicks whilst tantalising melodies add to the escalating energy, before 'Manifesto' erupts with uncompromising arpeggios accompanied by infectious claps and subtle stabs until rounding off a fine EP from Setaoc Mass.. London-based producer, DJ, promoter and venue owner Dan Beaumont drops an imaginative and esoteric house single titled 'Spirit Talkin'' on Work Them Records with a remix from label founder Spencer Parker. The man behind Dalston Superstore, Dance Tunnel, the Chapter 10 warehouse parties, an NTS radio show and releases on the likes of Classic, No Fit State and Disco Bloodbath - one word to describe Dan Beaumont is multifaceted. ‘Spirit Talkin'' sees him deliver a lengthy dancefloor cut with a heady groove and intricate drum patterns joined by penetrating vocal wails that emit feeling throughout. Radio Slave follows up last years 'Repeat Myself' on Spencer Parker's Work Them Records with a 12' entitled 'Werk' set to drop on 2nd June. Drawn out hypnotic cuts are Radio Slave specialities and with 'Werk' and his previous Work Them outing he delivers his trademark with unflinching confidence. The two full tracks on the EP take simple vocal samples and cast iron grooves and stretches them drum-skin tight while two accapella versions make for irresistible DJ play.
