Radio Slave - The Lunatics (Solomun Remix)
2
Radio Slave Vs Audion - Mouth to Mouth (CASSIMM Remix)
Solomun & CASSIM remix two of the track rake from Radio Slave’s Venti album released earlier this year. Diynamic boss and Ibiza titan Solomun remixes Radio Slave ‘The Lunatics’ on Rekids, following the original’s inclusion in Matt Edwards’ acclaimed ‘Venti’ album in May. The original, a rework itself, reimagined the 1981 Fun Boy Three track ‘The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum’, with Edwards’ ode to the band’s late lead vocalist and The Specials frontman Terry Hall winning support from Saoirse, Erol Alkan, Jennifer Cardini, Laurent Garnier, Paul Woolford, and Honey Dijon. Solomun’s remix of ‘The Lunatics’ is sparkling aural nostalgia executed with total joy. Crisp 80s drums, Stranger Things-esque Jupiter 8 synth swells, the vocoded titular vocal, and a gloriously rich sliding bassline combine to drag the listener back to 1983 in the best possible way. As the track builds, rousing guitars join the ensemble, completing what is a hypnotic, melodic trip to the 80s via what’s set to be a 2024 anthem. CASSIMM’s remix of Radio Slave vs Audion’s ‘Mouth To Mouth’ continues the story of Matthew Dear’s classic, which Radio Slave revived and reinvented as part of his 2024 LP, ‘Venti’. Radio Slave’s hi-NRG disco cover of Audion’s minimal/maximal 2006 and era-defining anthem has dominated dancefloors since it emerged as a single in late 2023, with the likes of Erol Alkan, Job Jobse, Sean Johnston, Jennifer Cardini and Eats Everything continuing to play it today and the latter awarding it an Essential New Tune whilst sitting in for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. Now, recent Rekids alum CASSIMM continues his huge run of form with a chunky, main-room house interpretation that shows just why his recent release, ‘House of Moves,’ won DJ support from the likes of Tong, Arielle Free, Paul Woolford, Honey Dijon, and Jennifer Loveless. CASSIMS’s remix of Radio Slave vs Audion quickly follows Lindstrom and Solomun’s remixes of the ‘Venti’ LP’s tracks, which have seen support from the likes of Ivan Smagghe, Chloé Caillet, Nightmares On Wax, and more

Radio Slave - Amnesia Ft. Cagedbaby
Radio Slave's 'Venti' is released on Rekids on May 17th and is a twelve-track celebration of Matt Edward's most prominent alias' history. Starting life as a series of singles that began in 2023, 'Venti' sees Edwards explore lower tempos, House, Disco, and the Pop reinterpretations that birthed the moniker back in 2001.
From Venti’s opening track onwards, a glistening piece of piano-led house that's become an anthem at Sean Johnston and the late Andrew Weatherall's lauded ALFOS parties, it is clear that Edwards is keen to celebrate the past but through the lens of now. A Radio Slave favourite, 'Wait A Minute', is updated to include a powerful vocal from Nez. Kylie's 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' - a track that kicked Radio Slave into the modern dance music consciousness is reinvented as an Italo-inspired cover featuring Michael Love Michael delivering glorious vocals. 'Wild Life' and 'Wake Up', another two tracks that, as singles, dominated house and disco sets of the great and good in 2023, feel simultaneously fresh while paying homage to the origins of House - message-heavy vocals and all. A cover of Audion's 'Mouth to Mouth' and Edwards' tribute to Terry Hall, the Fun Boy Three reimagining 'The Lunatics' are keen displays of Radio Slave's knack for taking on beloved tracks and making them his own. The lasers-set-to-stun cut-and-paste nu-disco of Radio Slave’s 'Jaws' is a muscular and timely reminder that the punch of a track lies in its feel rather than tempo, while Edward's command of dub aesthetics and unmatched ability to stretch grooves into a tension-filled journey shines through on 'New Balance' and the epic closer, 'Thirty-Six'. Never one to entirely give into the throes of the 4:4, the cinematic electro of 'Stranger In The Night' and Balearic Cagedbaby collab 'Amnesia' round out 'Venti' as the whole Radio Slave experience - as intense as it is subtle.
One of the most prolific and critically lauded electronic music artists of the past two and half decades, Matt Edwards was born in Catford, London, in the early 1970s. When acid house hit the city, Edwards was deep in the scene, and he's remained there since. Residencies at the groundbreaking Ministry of Sound and an 'unofficial' residency that has seen him become one of Panorama Bar's most booked DJs during his 15-year stint living in Berlin have provided the grounding for an enviable tour diary that continues today.
His Rekids imprint, a label that has platformed some of dance music's biggest names, has been regarded as a high benchmark for two decades with Matt as sole A&R. Collaborations with legendary artists such as DJ Hell and Robert Hood, releases for Running Back, R&S, Innervisions, Figure and more, and a remixography that simply couldn't be repeated in modern music show just how important Radio Slave is.

Radio Slave - The Lunatics (The Lunatics Club Mix)
2
Radio Slave - The Lunatics (A Clinic Full Of Cynics Dub)
Radio Slave pays homage to Fun Boy Three with ‘The Lunatics (A Tribute to Terry Hall)’.
Fun Boy Three’s ground-breaking 1981 anthem ‘The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum’ reflected a socio-political uncertainty and fear of the time, mirroring today’s calamitous society.
Radio Slave’s tribute to the late vocalist of The Specials and Fun Boy Three, Terry Hall, ‘The Lunatics (A Tribute To Terry Hall)’ centres itself on the unmistakable haunting vocal chant of its source material. Welded to the sort of unbreakable groove that Radio Slave has spent two decades refining, the vocal swells, repeating chorus, and jolting alarm sounds make for yet another anthem from one of dance music’s most bankable names.
Rounding out the release, Radio Slave strips the single of its iconic vocal for the ‘A Clinic Full Of Cynics’ dub. In this version, he lets its infectious guitar strum bass roar and added jazz-inflected musical elements shine in a pure and true tribute to Ska music told by the Rekids founder.

Radio Slave - Wake Up (Superpitcher Remix)
2
Radio Slave - Wake Up (Idjut Boys 'Shed' Mix)
Superpitcher and Idjut Boys remix Radio Slave’s ‘Wake Up’. Radio Slave’s spoken word slow-burner ‘Wake Up’ dropped on Rekids March ‘23, winning support from the likes of Roman Fluegel, Louise Chen and Red Axes and continuing a run of singles that explores the house and disco roots of the iconic British UK/Producer. Now, he invites Kompakt a?liate and Hippie Dance co-founder Superpitcher alongside UK duo Idjut Boys to reimagine ‘Wake Up’ on a fresh 12”. The original ‘Wake Up’ saw Matt Edwards, aka Radio Slave, utilise low-slung grooves and an iconic speech-like vocal. Superpitcher remixes the track ?rst, turning it into an acid-infused trip with its vocal samples echoing through cavernous, dubbed-out soundscapes. On the ?ip, we see Idjut Boys turn up the ?ange in their hypnotic version while maintaining the original’s bassline and stripping back the vocal to eerie whispers.

Radio Slave - Wild Life (Roy Davis Jr. & Byron The Aquarius Remix)
2
Radio Slave - Wild Life (Jamie 3:26 & Danou P 'DiscoTek' Remix)
Roy Davis Jr. & Byron The Aquarius and Jamie 3:26 & Danou P remix Radio Slave’s Wildlife. ‘Wildlife’, released a few months back, found Radio Slave tapping into his house and disco roots. It proved a dance?oor smash that got support from a wide array of artists, from DJ Bone and Tim Sweeney to Roman Flugel and Axel Boman. As such, the artists chosen to remix come from similar backgrounds and bring all new perspectives to this irresistible gem. First up are Chicago house legend Roy Davis Jr. and keys playing maestro Byron The Aquarius. Both make the sort of dusty, feel-good deep house that will never grow old and have done so on the scene's best labels. Their sizzling seven-minute rework of 'Wildlife' has jazzy, life-a?rming keys and smeared synths that bring the warmth. The drums are rubbery and inviting, and the whole thing brings real musicality to the ?oor. The second remix is from original Chicago innovator, deep digger and edit king Jamie 3:26 and a young Dutch artist he has long since mentored, Danou P. Between them, they have cooked up gems like 'What It Is' together on Shake Records and remixed for Defected, all with a healthy respect for disco, funk and soul from the 80s onwards. Their take on 'Wildlife' is a piano-laced and upbeat party starter. Noodling bass ri?s,zippy synth details and lavish chords make for a sophisticated sound that will swell the heart.

Radio Slave - Strobe Queen (Kirk Degiorgio Remix)
Repress!
Radio Slave drops ‘Strobe Queen’ this June, complete with Eric Kupper and Kirk Degiorgio Remixes. following a string of massive singles over the course of 2022 and 2023, in tandem with the continued success of his acclaimed Rekids and RSPX imprints, Radio Slave prepares his latest single ‘Strobe Queen’, a 12-minute, slow-burning house epic landing this March. Eric Kupper and Kirk Degiorgio remix Radio Slave’s ‘Strobe Queen’ this June. Heard in clubs courtesy of Honey Dijon, Laurent Garnier, and Sean Johnston, amongst others, and on the airwaves via the likes of BBC Radio 1, Radio Slave now recruits two legendary remixers for thw remixes of ‘Strobe Queen’. Requiring little introduction, Eric Kupper and Kirk Degiorgio both turn in exceptional versions of the original, while Radio Slave contributes a stunning reprise of his own, continuing to explore his love of slower tempos and long arrangements of golden era NYC, as seen in subsequent singles ‘Wild Life’ and ‘Wake Up’. Radio Slave aka Matt Edwards is one of dance music’s undisputed heavyweights. Having made his name as a DJ in the 90s, he went on to become the king of edits, twisting pop, R&B and indie cuts into essential versions that consistently set clubs alight. Since the mid-2000s, Edwards’ originals have helped define modern dance music, tackling techno, house, breakbeat, minimal and disco whilst exploring dub, balearic sounds and ambient across the myriad of other aliases and projects.

Radio Slave - Wild Life (Dub Mix)
Following the recently dropped ‘Strobe Queen’, which picked up support from Honey Dijon, Sean Johnston, Laurent Garnier, BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Danny Howard amongst many more, Radio Slave returns with another standout House cut ‘Wild Life’, turning in two exceptional Disco and Dub mixes. “I’ve always adored the “Wildpitch” era of DJ Pierre, Roy Davis Jnr, DJ Duke and labels like Power Music It’s definitely influenced my work as Radio Slave and “Wild Life” started out as a nod to that early nighties sound. Conceived during the pandemic, I had the track mapped out and then with help of a good friend I decided to add live bass, loads of analogue keyboards and record the whole thing live and it became this super funky disco jam.” - Radio Slave

Radio Slave - Stay Out All Night Long (Carl Cox Remix)
2
Radio Slave - Stay Out All Night (Commix Remix Remix)
Initially released in 2020 via his own Rekids, ‘Stay Out All Night’ is one of Radio Slave’s biggest tracks todate, alongside timeless cuts such as ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, and ‘Another Club’. Recruiting Carl Cox & Commix for remix duties, ‘Stay Out All Night (Remixes)’ sees two varied dancefloor-focused revisions drop this February on 12”. Leading the pack, Carl Cox steps up to the plate fresh from the release of his ‘Oh yes, oh yes!’ book. The People’s Choice delivers a lively 4/4 interpretation, flipping the syncopated breaks of the original into astomping blend of house and techno destined for dancefloor decimation. Following on is Metalheadz affiliate Commix, taking a break from his usual brand of flawless Drum & Bass to flip the original into a fresh UK Garage cut.

Radio Slave - Acid Dip
2
Radio Slave - Armani
Radio Slave returns to his Rekids imprint this October with the perfectly balanced ‘Acid Dip’ single. The titular track on ‘Acid Dip’ sees Matt ‘Radio Slave’ Edwards in particularly strident form. Riding a broken, stuttered-kick rhythm, ‘Acid Dip’ is a jabbing, insistent slice of UK techno shot through with hardcore and, whilst not skimping on raw power, still maintains the hypnotic nature that inhabits much of Edwards’ work. On the flip, ‘Armani’ takes off down a dubbed-out, futuristic Italo-infused house workout that, throughout its eleven minutes 28-second span, shows a more dense, layered side to Radio Slave production. Another triumph of a single from one of modern electronic music’s most consistent talents, Radio Slave’s ‘Acid Dip’, is released 15th October via Rekids.

Radio Slave - Variations V1
2
Radio Slave - Variations V2
Radio Slave returns to his Rekids imprint for his first release of 2021, ‘Variations’. Marking the first release of 2021, Matt Edwards aka Radio Slave turns in two thundering tracks loosely based around a common theme: his signature maximal minimalism mixed with classic dub techno aesthetics. While his recent anthemic single ‘Live My Life’ displays Edwards’ knack for twisting vocal hooks into main room artillery, ‘Variations’ sees the Berlin-based producer head for room 2, showcasing Edwards ability for crafting devastatingly effective heads-y techno. After releasing Robert Hood’s incendiary ‘Mirror Man’ LP towards the end of 2020, Rekids is showing no signs of slowing down for 2021. With this release highlighting an artist at the top of his game, ‘Variations’ adds yet another powerful and striking 12” to both the discography of one of electronic music’s most essential labels and one of its most lauded artists.

Radio Slave - Live My Life (Nic Fanciulli Remix)
Radio Slave returns to his Rekids label with ‘Live My Life’, including a remix from Saved Records’ boss Nic Fanciulli. Responsible for some of the most recognisable vocal tracks in techno for the past 15 years, Radio Slave’s latest sees him turn in yet another tough, infectious cut that uses soulful vocal refrains as hooks. Airtight, rolling grooves have been a prominent feature in much of Radio Slave’s work, and ‘Live My Life’ is no different, paired with occasionally overlapping vocals it’s a masterclass in tension and release. On the flip, Grammy-nominated and globally renowned DJ and producer Nic Fanciulli cleverly reinterprets Edwards’ original, in a version that sees a pulsing, offbeat bassline and ever-evolving drums drive the track towards vocal crescendos throughout. Stirring, memorable, and yet another outstanding release from one of dance music’s finest. TRACK LISTING: A. Live My Life, B. Live My Life (Nic Fanciulli Remix)

Rekids label boss Radio Slave ventures further into unknown territory in a three-part sophomore album entitled ‘Radio Silence’ with the first instalment dropping in June.
Stretching nearly two decades, Matt Edwards’s discography is staggering with releases on labels like Running Back, R&S, Ostgut Ton, Nonplus and Figure, not to mention his illustrious imprint Rekids which has been instrumental in supporting the music and careers of incendiary artists over the years, including Nina Kraviz, Mr. G, DJ Deep, Nic Fanciulli, Peggy Gou, Laurent Garnier, Spencer Parker and many more.
Although he’s released multiple albums under different guises it was only until 2017 that the debut Radio Slave album, ‘Feel The Same’, was released. Now, the renowned UK artist delivers his latest body of work in the form of his ‘Radio Silence’ album, which will be dropping in not one, but three parts.
The first chapter features perhaps the most leftfield tracks we’ve ever heard Radio Slave product, even hitting 150BPM on closing track ‘SYD’. There’s a rawness to the album, which is in part due to the fact each track was recorded live and without edits using hardware and Ableton as the main sequencer.
Across the seven tracks, Radio Slave hone’s in on a sound that’s haunting and hypnotic. Opening track ‘Ghost’ is punctuated by lingering synths, while ‘Cell’ introduces pummelling kicks that will do damage on a big system. ‘Contact’ bleeps and glitches before making way for blaring horn-like synths, and ‘ZQU’ is a masterclass in mind-bending techno. Elsewhere, closing track ‘SYD’ delivers on every level, thanks to uncompromising 150BPM realness.

2
Radio Slave - Command X
Rekids boss Matt Edwards debuts on Rekids Special Projects under his prolific Radio Slave moniker with ‘Command Z’, marking the twentieth release on the offshoot series. Undeniably one of house and techno’s most sought after and beloved producers and remixers, Matt Edwards kickstarted Special Projects as a techno focused series in 2017. Since then it has gone on to host incredible artists like FBK, Shinedoe, P.Leone, Hemka and Dustin Zahn, not to mention SRVD - Edwards’s collaborative project alongside club kid Patrick Mason. Three years later, the Berlin-based Brit finally graces the label under his most revered pseudonym. ‘Command Z’ opens with roaming synth patterns, slick kicks, delicately placed plucks and a haunting soundfloor which gives a sense of allure alongside it’s thundering rhythm. On the flip, ‘Command X’ situates itself perfectly for cavernous warehouse spaces or intimate club environments with its rattling snares, arpeggiated keys, lively saturated claps, rawly reversed pads and rippling cymbals. 2
radio slave - Last Communication
Matt Edwards launches Stranger in The Night with his first solo material since 2017. The Rekids offshoot will release regular music by four artists, namely Radio Slave, King Britt, Anthony Rother and Fred P, who will each drop three EPs over the next year. "With Rekids being 100% focused on releasing music for dance floors I felt the need to create a new platform to explore a wider musical vision and invite some of my all-time electronic musical heroes to be a part of the series," says Matt Edwards. Both numbers near the 12-minute mark but each track portrays a different aesthetic. Opening with precision drums and crystalline notes, 'Ground Control' makes a nod towards the hi-tech soul sound of Detroit and drives forward using a sultry bassline, erratic chords and the occasional icy stab as an array of contrasting sounds operate in unison. On the flip, a syncopated rhythm lays the foundation for 'Last Communication' whilst a tantalising melody joins poignant synths, constructing a profound and hypnotising journey.

Radio Slave enlists two heavyweights remixes from Dixon and Underground Resistance, who reimagine ‘Trans’ - the twisted, bass-driven cut on Radio Slave’s excellent inaugural album. First up, Innervisions co-founder Dixon offers an inspired retouch containing an amalgamation of cosmic synth arpeggios, each one unfolding in a unique way as the track develops, supported by a prominent vacillating bassline. On the flip, Detroit techno pioneers Underground Resistance provide a ‘Hamtramck’ remix features crunchy modulated synths and heavily delayed vocal slices that duck in and out before funk influenced guitar licks resonate alongside a plethora of dark effects.

radio slave - Revenge (Luca Lozano 'How Bow Dah' Remix)
Radio Slave’s colossal ‘The Revenge’ track now gets expert remix treatment from Klasse Wrecks label head Luca Lozano. Luca has also released on the likes of Optimo, Sex Tags UFO and Unknown to the Unknown and brings a raw, acid tinged sound to his beats. As a performer Lozano’s versatile DJ sets span between raw house, cosmic disco and dynamic breakbeat selections, which is why he’s become a regular at key clubs across Europe and tasteful festivals like Houghton. His ‘How Bow Dis’ Remix’ is solid and features wild old school flavours in its huge drum breaks, a monstrous bassline and dark filtered vocals. It bangs for seven superbly heavy minutes with plenty of twists and turns along the way, and will transform any club or warehouse into a writhing, sweaty mass in seconds. On the flip, his ‘How Bow Dah’’ version is based around elastic drums and rumbling bass while a loose synth line darts about up top. Some distant synths bring a sense of serenity to the madness and so despite the physical impact of this one, it also has real emotion to it.

radio slave - Grindhouse - Len Faki Hardspace Mix 2
Rekids celebrates 10 years of Radio Slave’s ‘Grindhouse’ with remixes from Len Faki, Slam, Obscure Shape & SHDW, Vatican Shadow, Markus Suckut, Lady Starlight and Special Request. First appearing on a release as part of Radio Slave’s iconic ‘No Sleep’ series, ‘Grindhouse’ spawned multiple remixes from the likes of Dubfire, Danton Eeprom, Terrance Fixmer and Nic Fanciulli to become one of the biggest techno records since its original release. To commemorate this fact, Len Faki has produced two different reinterpretations in the first of four heavyweight remix packages. “I didn’t plan to go back to Grindhouse. It’s a monster of a record and undoubtedly the biggest release we’ve had on the label, but after 10 years it seems right to revisit the track and also add some new versions from some of my favourite techno producers." – Radio Slave With Danton Eeprom’s vocal resonating throughout, Faki’s first remix features crunchy snares, ominous chords and shuffling effects before piercing synths come into effect in the latter half. Meanwhile, the second version rumbles forward with its undulating bassline, soaring atmospherics and echoing elements to round up two solid productions exemplary of the Figure founder’s seasoned abilities in the studio.

Matt Edwards drops his eagerly anticipated debut Radio Slave album ‘Feel The Same’ via his Rekids imprint in September. Easily his most recognisable nom de plume, Radio Slave was initially Matt’s pseudonym for remixes, with early reinterpretations of Kylie Minogue and New Order leading into frequent work for both major and independent labels. He’s now indisputably one of House and Techno’s most in-demand remixers, whilst original Radio Slave productions have gone on to appear via reputable imprints like Running Back, R&S, Ostgut Ton, Nonplus and Work Them Records. Instrumental in supporting the music and careers of artists such as Nina Kraviz, Spencer Parker, Gerd Janson, and many others via his label Rekids - Edwards is held in high regard for his A&R abilities and has also established numerous other renowned labels such as Pyramids Of Mars, Cabin Fever, and The Double R. Now, more than 10 years since Rekids' inception and with over 100 releases under its belt, the influential figure announces the release of his debut Radio Slave album; a masterpiece of sophisticated electronic music that evokes the early spirit of dance music yet continues to forge his reputation as a cutting edge and innovative producer. The album is a culmination of years as a DJ, producer and remixer; with influences spanning a range of genres such as breaks and jungle, acid, Balearic, ambient, dub, Chicago and also vocal samples exemplary of the Radio Slave sound.

2
radio slave - Radio Slave - Feel the Same (Floorplan Remix 2)
Floorplan delivers two excellent reinterpretations of Radio Slave ‘Feel The Same’, the title track from the Rekids founder’s forthcoming album.
Made up of former Underground Resistance member Robert Hood and his daughter Lyric, the Detroit duo needs little introduction and last year saw the release of their illustrious album ‘Victorious’ on Hood’s M-Plant. The first remix of ‘Feel The Same’ extends to eight minutes long and is a journey; incorporating echoing chords, intricate percussion and a medley of esoteric effects whilst cackling laughter ebbs in and out of the mix. Meanwhile, the flip sees a more up front interpretation with its heady hook, rolling drums and energetic claps.

radio slave - Revenge
2
radio slave - Reverse
Rekids founder Radio Slave readies a colossal double A-side titled ‘Overdue’ this June. “‘The Revenge’ is my homage to clubs like “Rage" and my days growing up in London", says Matt Edwards. “The Reverse’ came from some late night studio sessions in February and I’ve had a lot of fun playing this out. All I can say is it’s very me - stripped back and made for the dance floor”. Urban field recordings and a spoken word sample set the tone in ‘Revenge’ before an onslaught of breaks erupt into a frenzy; the overall aesthetic borrows upon numerous UK rave hallmarks whilst sounding fresh and impeccably geared for modern DJ use. Meanwhile, ‘Reverse’ is a quintessential Radio Slave record with its polished production, repetitive minimalism and atmospheric aura – rounding off a two-tracker expertly produced with the dancefloor in mind.

radio slave - Bell Clap Dance (Tuff City Kids Remix)
2
radio slave - Screaming Hands (Tuff City Kids Dreamscape Mix)
3
radio slave - Screaming Hands (Tuff City Kids Krautdrums Mix)
Tuff City Kids provide three scintillating remixes of iconic Radio Slave tracks this May. Since launching the project in the late ‘00s, Frankfurt’s Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer’s Tuff City Kids moniker has become synonymous with quality that’s seen them cement a reputation as specialist remixers. The duo now reinterprets two Radio Slave productions released a decade ago. Their take on ‘Bell Clap Dance’ captures the essence of the original by factoring in its various elements, such as its intricate hook and gloomy melody, whilst morphing it into an animated and echoing contemporary cut. Radio Slave’s ‘Screaming Hands’ then receives two new versions; the ‘Dreamscape UK Mix’ is suitably titled thanks to soaring pads, subtle breaks and a mesmerising bassline, whereas the ‘Krautdrums Mix’ meanders forward with distorted kicks, stuttering effects and raucous acid.

radio slave - Another Club
2
radio slave - Feel The Same
Radio Slave readies a double A-side to mark the 100th release on Rekids this February. Having recently celebrated ten years, the consistency of music on Matt Edwards’ Rekids is indisputable with releases from Nina Kraviz, Mr. G, David Morales, Peggy Gou and DJ Deep to name a few. Aside from his A&R abilities Edwards’ extensive understanding of electronic music is evident in his various pseudonyms. Amongst these Radio Slave is easily his most illustrious and most fitting for the seminal label’s milestone 100th release. Containing all the hallmarks of a Radio Slave production, ‘Another Club’ merges looped vocals with thudding kicks as echoing stabs and infectious hats work their magic. On the flip, ‘Feel The Same’ is a funky slice of Detroit inspired house. Early support from Chris Liebing, Ryan Elliot, DJ Hell, Gerd Janson, Laurent Garnier, DJ Deep, Markus Suckut..

radio slave - The Clone Wars (DJ Spider Remix)
With the original release marking Rekids return from hiatus, Radio Slave's The Clone Wars is now revisited with a trio of new interpretations from three distinctive talents on house & techno. On the A side, Markus Suckut moulds the original into the kind of no-nonsense rolling techno jam that has personified his releases for Mosaic and Figure. The B side enlists two US talents in the shape of Parris Mitchell and DJ Spider, with the former bringing a glitchy take on the jacking Chicago house that Mitchell perfected in his timeless productions for Dance Mania, and the latter shaping the track into crunchy weirdo techno that sits perfectly alongside his output for The Trilogy Tapes and his own NY-based Plan B Recordings.

radio slave - Re-werk'd by s:vt
Work Them Records begins 2015 with a remix package of Radio Slave's 2014 release, 'Werk', that takes in versions from DJ Richard, Dan Beaumont and s:vt. White Materials man Dj Richard takes the cut into trippy, technoid house territory while Dance Tunnel impresario and London institution Dan Beaumont cracks out his 909 and servers up a strident pumper. Work Them artist s:vt closes the package with a powerful rework that channels the original's tone perfectly. With a release schedule that includes tracks and remixes from Mr Ties, Adrianna Lopez, Young Male and newcomer CAIAZZO from Queens for 2015, Work Them Records is looking sharp

Short info:
The one and only Radio Slave is back on RB. This time with retro futuristic breakbeat-house and -techno.
Children of the E comes in two mixes for different moods and some locked grooves for double copy wizardry. Inspired by the London warehouses of yesterday, fuelled by Evian bottles and made in a fog horn frenzy. Or as the man himself puts it: "Matt Edwards goes back to his roots with children of the e: Just another white kid from Catford". Ultimately, we're all children of the e(arth)!

Radio Slave follows up last years 'Repeat Myself' on Spencer Parker's Work Them Records with a 12' entitled 'Werk' set to drop on 2nd June. Drawn out hypnotic cuts are Radio Slave specialities and with 'Werk' and his previous Work Them outing he delivers his trademark with unflinching confidence. The two full tracks on the EP take simple vocal samples and cast iron grooves and stretches them drum-skin tight while two accapella versions make for irresistible DJ play. While 'Werk' marries its eponymous vocal with shuffling, scraping percussion and little else to create a timeless jacking house dub the flip side's 'Jus Werk' evokes Dan Bell minimalism with fluttering, mechanical sine wave sequences

After a busy year gigging in all corners of the earth, and focussing production efforts on long-term collaborative projects with Joel Martin and Thomas Gandey, Matt Edwards is back with another long-awaited slab of Radio Slave goodness on Rekids. After the recent success of his 'Repeat Myself' release on Spencer Parker's fledgling Work Them Records label, it seems that Matt is still in the mood for making statements - complete with photocopier samples and cheeky vocal refrains, in his own words 'The Clone Wars' is a "war cry to people out there, music or otherwise, who think it's creative and cool to just replicate the past." Strong words, but does the track stand up as well? Absolutely - according to the feedback coming directly from the dancefloor anyway, and that's the main thing. The vinyl edition comes as a limited run of 200 copies - each hand-stamped with its own individual custom-made sleeve. The digital version comes bearing 'A Capella' and 'Synthapella' tools for any budding remixers out there. Just make sure you do something original with them.

Radio Slave, - Tantakatan
Over the last few months, the main focus in the Rekids camp has been on Nina Kraviz and the remixing of her 2012 debut LP. Now it’s time for a change, and it’s head honcho Radio Slave’s turn to get in on the remix action, with his 2008 hit ‘Tantakatan’ getting a fresh makeover in the shape of Mr. G’s ‘Nightwatch Dub’ and Prins Thomas’ ‘Diskomiks’. On the former, Mr. G powers up his MPC and delivers that signature analogue beat-driven sound, tweaking the parts and including extra ideas to truly make the track his own. Cranking up the tempo ever so slightly, Mr. G takes the track into darker territory and adds a sinister rumbling bass line with more than enough low-end energy to make your guts shake. Like all of Mr. G’s best tracks, his ‘Nightwatch Dub’ builds gradually, while never losing that trademark Mr. G groove. This one is going to set techno dance-floors alight. On his ‘Diskomiks’, the prince of Norwegian ‘space-disco’ Prins Thomas opts for a more organic approach, re-creating the unmistakeable chord stabs of the original on an acoustic piano and utilising a traditional drum kit for that loose, laid-back groove that could only come from a live drummer. His track shimmers with white noise and reverb throughout, before treating us to a delightfully staccato synth bass that typifies the Scandinavian disco sound. Fans of his musical output won’t be disappointed.

Radio Slave, - The Black Lodge
2
Radio Slave, - Mood
On somewhat of a release roll at present, Rekids head honcho Radio Slave decides to join in the fun with his first release on Rekids in over a year entitled 'Live Edits', and what a killer release it is! As you approach the ominous concrete walls of the Berghain, passing through the paying and cloakroom areas and enter the cavernous main room to find 1500 bodies writhing to a relentless beat; don't be surprised if the soundtrack to that moment is 'The Black Lodge' over the coming months. This 13-minute beast rampages along; creaking, cracking and crunching at every possible opportunity. Indefinable sounds emerge from afar, only to disappear into the vortex and then reappear throughout to dramatic effect. A master class in automation, the elements echo, pan and filtrate, with only the finest sound systems able to truly do the production justice. On the flip the mood lightens slightly with congas and shakers opening things up on 'Mood', paving the way for tribal rhythm. A heavily side-chained bassline enters the mix adding inescapable groove and acts as the driving force within the track. After a while strings appear and the track quickly gathers momentum climbing to a hypnotic and atmospheric climax.

Stop…press…an extraordinary Radio Slave donation for Running Back!
The man like Matt Edwards took care of a matter near to his and our heart: an EP dedicated to the crafty DJ Duke, his infamous Power Music label empire and those massive sounds dat ruled di Sound Factory nation. One side holds a modern track in an old fashioned style of lovin' (quote freely adapted from Courtney Melody): think RS' 'Tantakatan' straightened out. "That's all the record do? Yeah, bitch, that's all the record do." Special thanks go to Omar-S for clarifying these matters once and for all. Already huge with big room boys Âme, natty dread Josh Wink and a few others. Surprise, surprise! Flip for a portrait of a young and restless Todd Terry circa '92 slipping on his bathroom rug while listening to some X-102. Dirt McGirt! Those 3 people out there who still buy audio plastic might be delighted to find out that they get a special bunch of bonus tracks: super heavy EFX sirens, street noise and soothing rain sounds. Can you dig it?

Radio Slave launches his new label REKIDS with something rather huge. Despite a plethora of remixes (both official and unofficial) over the past few years, My Bleep is (unbelievably) the debut single release from Matt Edwards Radio Slave moniker. My Bleep is a slice of heavyweight dancefloor electronics frying synapses and overheating dancefloors everywhere. Just to fan the flames the remix is from the mighty Roman Flügel of Alter Ego fame.
