Ahead of the full release of Nelcorpo, Dissonant is thrilled to be sharing the first taste of Re- UP’s debut album with this three-track single. The whole project is a continuation of a relationship that reaches back to 2010, when the celebrated Italian duo made up of Leo and Omar first collaborated with Marc Antona on The Owl EP. For this sample record, three powerful tracks have been selected that reveal what an exciting, highly detailed listening experience the full album will be. There is of course a club-friendly thrust to all the cuts, as you would expect from this pair of producers, but there are lots of other moods at work which reveal themselves through the course of the tracks. From the start “The mole” paints a vivid picture of crooked, rusted textures, using layers of
rough and metallic found-sounds to whisk the listener away into their dense, percussive headspace. “6AM” equally has a rich sound world to get lost in, using a bed of forest textures as a comfortable backdrop in contrast to the piercing impact of the lead synth. After only just recently raising our glasses to our 50th Upon You release, here's number 51 just waiting in the bleachers...so basically we're on our way to number 100. Our Italian friends Re-Up have rustled up this very promising release called "The New Mood EP". Why
the name ? I hear you ask. Well these two Tech-House experts have dug deep to give us A1 with it's ecstatic drum rolls in "Darkness" , A2 gives us the title track with its dubby-chordy kind of sound, like magically pulling the reins on an Indian horse. "What Else" they ask
themselves on B1 while they gallop over the UY parcour to end this little journey with "So Good" on B2.

Our spanish collegues Oel Polygon have redefined themselves. Leo and Omar cobble on together as a Re-Up in musical togetherness. Nonchalantly as usual- the two keep on cooking crispy Tech-House to the limits and let the heart of the club-gourmets melt away. Between Venice and Barcelona they have peeled especially pretty models out of their sequencer. "Inside Us" is telling us a lot about the drive of the record and strives with tough techno-vocals the hit pig across the Upon You court. Once you've wrapped out the A1 bon-bon you'll find yourself greedily diving into the B-side, which- together with "Phonobox" and "Dos Por Dos" skilfully completes the box of candies.

"Garlic" is a roving thrill-ride that hangs on to the commanding groove as it whips through a dense landscape of sound, constantly moving forward with an energy that speaks to primal instincts. That leaves it to "Invisible" to get deep in the dub, letting masterfully handled delay and reverb pulse out a spiritually enriching techno mantra.

Marc Antona's Dissonant imprint has become synonymous, over the course of just fifteen releases, with the very best of depth-defying tech grooves. Tense atmospheres and floor grinding rhythms are at the forefront of the label's releases and are again the dominant sounds on the latest release from label debutant, Santos. Renowned and respected for his powerful productions the Italian producer has, through his releases and remixes for the likes of Saved, Suara and Octopus, become one of the most in demand producers of today. The three track Habitat ep sees Santos treading a deeper path compared to much of his recent output. The strong, bold drum patterns still prevail but each of the new tracks thrive on their slower groovier tempo's, scene-stealing atmospherics and exotic percussive sounds.
