Die siebte Veröffentlichung unserer Peter-Thomas-Reihe widmet sich der Filmmusik für die erste und bekannteste deutsche Science-Fiction-Fernsehserie RAUMPATROUILLE (umgangssprachlich auch RAUMPATROUILLE ORION). Pünktlich zum 60-jährigen Jubiläum des siebenteiligen Straßenfegers (Erstausstrahlung: 17.9.1966 in der ARD) erscheint dieses legendäre und um bisher unveröffentlichte Tracks erweiterte Highlight aus Peter Thomas‘ Schaffen erneut auf CD und LP.

Selten hat die Musik zu einer Fernsehserie solch eine Strahlkraft über die Bilder hinaus entwickelt wie dieser Soundtrack. Die Titelmusik kann heute ohne Zögern als ikonisch bezeichnet werden. Alleine der Vocoder-Countdown zu Beginn wird und wurde unzählige Male verwendet. Von Pulp über Pizzicato Five und Combustible Edison zu Die Fantastischen Vier und Mousse T wurde die RAUMPATROUILLE-Musik gecovert, gesampelt und geremixt.

Seit 1966 gab es bereits etliche Tonträgerveröffentlichungen in unterschiedlichen Editionen, trotzdem ist es uns in Zusammenarbeit mit Peter Thomas‘ Sohn Philip gelungen, den Soundtrack um vier bisher unveröffentlichte Stücke, gefunden im Nachlass des Komponisten, zu ergänzen. Basis der vorliegenden LP-Veröffentlichung ist die Original-Philips-LP von 1966, ergänzt um die vier neuen Titel. Dafür mussten drei Titel weichen, die allerdings nie in der Serie verwendet wurden.
Diese LP enthält also ausschließlich Originalmusik aus der Serie, bis auf einen Titel, den wir - obwohl ebenfalls nicht in der Serie enthalten - nicht zu entnehmen wagten: „Bolero on the Moon Rocks“, auf dessen Sample der Pulp-Hit „This is Hardcore“ (1998) basiert, und das so zu ganz eigenem Ruhm gelangte.
Neben der (fast) puristischen Originalmusik auf der LP enthält die CD mit über 60 Minuten Laufzeit alle weiteren Original-Titel und Outtakes, die über die Jahre zum Soundtrack hinzugefügt wurden. Später „hinzufabuliertes Füllmaterial“ wurde aus Platzgründen bzw. mangels Relevanz weggelassen.

While volume one of the series compiled Thomas' dopest library music cuts, this album dives deep into the soulful side of the Peter Thomas Sound Orchester, featuring the mystique house band of Afro-American Munich GI club Tabarin Bar, Donna Summer's first solo recordings, stunning cinematic funk instrumentals and a healthy amount of breaks and beats. Out of the 20 scorching tunes on this compilation, only three were released at the time of their recording and are nearly impossible to find on the 2ndhand market, ten have never been released anywhere before, others celebrate their first outing on vinyl or in stereo. Peter Thomas is widely acknowledged as Germany's most inventive film music composer of the 1960s and 1970s, best known for his iconic soundtracks. Today, his work is cherished not least for its incredible groove factor. The story of this compilation traces the origins of the Peter Thomas Sound Orchester's rhythm section and its soul music background, shines a light on unsung heroes like singer Joe Quick and unearthes nuggets that have been lying dormant on tape for decades. All music was carefully transferred from Peter Thomas' private master tapes and cut in full dynamics, housed in a beautiful fold-out cover with liner notes and private pictures. The compilation is released in cooperation with Peter Thomas' son Philip who represents the Peter Thomas Sound Orchester catalogue since his father's passing in 2020.

Two killer cuts by the Sound Stylistics: The Message is a piece of heavy soul featuring the vocals of late great UK soul singer Noel McKoy, Freedom Sound is a space funk groove with moog synth on top. Stunning outernational funk for the psych breaks dancefloor featuring the mesmerizing vocals of Ukrainian jazz singer Mona. Sung in her mother language, "Moya Vode" is about the "ancient ritual to put a spell on water and remove all negativity through its power". Mona and MC Fame, a well-known Ukrainian hiphop producer and activist, both left their hometown Kyiv last year and found a new home in the Hammerbrook district of Hamburg, Germany, where they quickly connected with the lively funk scene of the city. A year or two back, original Nottingham deep house don Gavin Belton (famed for being part of Smokescreen and Drop Music-adjacent duo The Littlemen) returned to the UK after living in New Zealand. One thing led to another and soon he was back in the studio alongside former creative partner Steve Lee for the first time in 15 years. Featuring heady spoken word vocals from Hector Moralez, the result is 'House For Change', a lightly electrofunk-fired slab of classic East Midlands deep house. Raising funds for homeless charity Help The Framework, this surprise EP also includes 2004 classic 'Tell Me' (a free party deep house classic) and two fresh reworks: a TB-303-bass-driven revision of 'House For Change' by their old pals Inland Knights, and a squelchy, spacey take on 'Tell Me' by Lee under his solo alias, Positive Divide.

The solitary electronic musician Shinichi Atobe, quietly evading the era's evaluative axes while continuously updating his work in real time.
His new album, Silent Way, is released on 27th March via his self-run label Plastic & Sounds.

Following two 12-inch singles released via the self-run label Plastic & Sounds, which launched unexpectedly this past July, the culmination of their work to date—the album Silent Way, comprising ten tracks—will be released on 27th March as a coloured vinyl 2LP (gatefold sleeve/33RPM/limited press) and digitally.

Last October, they appeared on Resident Advisor's popular series “RA Podcast”, with audio from their world premiere live performance in April 2023 released. They held the “Plastic & Sounds” label launch party at Shibuya WWW. In January 2026, they performed a live set of their acclaimed album “Heat” at the venue's New Year's party.

This release comes amidst growing international acclaim, with their previous album ‘Discipline’ featured in Pitchfork's ‘The 30 Best Electronic Albums of 2025’, and one of their signature tracks, ‘Butterfly Effect’, selected for RA (Resident Advisor)'s ‘The Best Electronic Tracks of 2000-25’.
