Following the release of 'Watergate 15 mixed by Kerri Chandler', Watergate Records offer up a vinyl sampler, featuring the exclusive new material on the comp from the man himself, and remixes from Voyeur, La Fleur and Lola Purple & Maine. Kerri Chandler has been one of the most prominent names in electronic music for over three decades now, so it was no surprise to see him enlisted for the reputable Watergate compilation series this year, following mixes from the likes of Sebo K, Ellen Alien, Tiefschwarz and Solomun. Here the imprint drops a vinyl sampler of fresh Chandler material made for the compilation, with some stellar remixes from some rising artists thrown in for good measure. First up is 'Mama feat. Jerome Sydenham', which takes on a classic Kerri format of swinging rhythms, a cosseting chord sequence, jazz-tinged low-end and piano lines, and Sydenham's spoken word vocal stylings. 'Think Of Something' follows, upping the energy slightly with a gritty saw-wave bass hook, stabbing pad samples and an amalgamation of chopped and processed vocal snippets. Kerri's prote?ge?s Voyeur step up on the first of the remixes, reworking 'Mama' into a groove-led number, fuelled by bulbous subs, loose percussion and an ever-evolving dynamism achieved through multilayered melodies. Rising star La Fleur turns in an interpretation of 'Mama' next, the Swedish producer tips the focus towards raw drums and penetrating bass, while smooth melodies brilliantly meander around them, creating a classy dance-floor focused workout. Then last up to round off the package is Manchester duo Lola Purple & Maine's remix of 'Think Of Something', the pair deliver an intriguing remix very much unique to them, we see processed vocal snippets, growling bass, infectious hooks and warm pads all skillfully blended to create a stunning closing record.

Tresor are pleased to announce KERN: a showcase of old meets new, house meets techno, in the form of an exciting mix series aimed at delivering fresh narratives in electronic dance music. *KERN will provide an insight into the tastes and personal histories of some of the scene's leading lights, allowing artists free reign to weave their own story through a mixture of rarities and brand new material. KERN transcends the usual parameters of an artist's mix to present a unique and timeless listening experience, which breaks down into a DJ-friendly and highly collectable trio of releases.
*Kicking off the series is Parisian protagonist Cyril Etienne aka DJ Deep. Selected for his career-defining dedication to
Detroit techno, NYC and Chicago house - "the roots" of house and techno - as DJ, producer and head of the Deeply Rooted House empire, DJ Deep heads back to his own origins to present KERN Vol.1:
"As I was struggling to find an order through all the great material on the Tresor catalogue or what my label currently does, I came up with this idea of a DJ's diary - like the picture of a guy writing down in his notebook which new and classic tracks would be relevant today. I kept this concept in mind when making my selection, which really helped me to simply follow my feelings and the flow of the music."
*The mix begins with a track recovered from the Tresor archives: A.E.S's "Music In My Head" produced by Arthur Forest, Eddie 'Flashin' Fowlkes and Santonio. The latter, who also brings a never-released title from '93 forth, "Amnesia". Along with Xperiment's "Karn Evil #10" and mix-closer "III", an early record from St. Germain as Deepside, these all make up The Rarities EP - one of two 12" records escorting KERN Vol.1 mixed by DJ Deep.
The other 12" is a collection of tracks picked by DJ Deep exclusively for the compilation. Originally designed to appear on his "Computer Games" album in 2008, Kerri Chandler signs the a-side with "Cobal" - propped on the b-side by new French signee Marcelus, "Y02", and Psyk wielding his Maan alias on "Jackin".

Following the great success of Dam Swindle's "Boxed Out" Album we present you the second single take out. Their collaboration with Mayer Hawthorne on “64 Ways" already gained massive support from DJ's and radio stations around the globe in the past weeks and we're proud to present you this remix pack with none other than Kerri Chandler, Kraak & Smaak and Detroit Swindle's remix of Detroit Swindle (Inception anyone?) It's an honor to have one of the godfathers of House: Kerri Chandler on remix duties. He has been a great supporter of the guys over the past years, often showing off his piano skill over "Guess What" and generally supporting a lot of The Swindlers tunes. He turned the original version of "64 Ways" in a true Kerri "Kaoz" Chandler tune with the use of his trademark key progressions and drums. Don't miss out on the instrumental if vocals aren't really your thing. The second remix is done by the guys themselves and oh boy what a monster tune it is! Stripped down
to just a few basics from the original, adding a lovely filtered key loop, they made a deep dance floor burner in true Swindle style: "swing, drop, and everything else".
As a final to this fine remix pack we asked fellow Dutch house heads Kraak & Smaak to return the favor on the remix tip after Dam Swindle remixed their track "The future is yours" with Ben Westbeech. They came up with a full on Disco House stomper, with a bass line that will stick with you for the rest of the
day and an irresistible disco feel. Have fun dancing to these great cuts! we for sure can't sit still :)
