Steve Bug - D3. Upon Mountains
Double-LP + download code Tracklist: A1. Ludic Loops A2. Hijacked Minds A3. Yellow Snake B1. Locked Away In My Head B2. Electro Harmonix B3. The Awakening C1. The Clock Is Ticking C2. A Conscious Machine D1. Confidence Dub D2. Raindance 101 D3. Upon Mountains The electronic musician and Poker Flat founder's contemplative new studio album takes in minimal house music, moody techno and effervescent breaks across 11 unique tracks. His previous LP Paradise Sold alongside Langenberg was released in 2018 to critical acclaim, and described as "elegantly euphoric" by Mixmag. Never Ending Winding Roads is an entirely solo release however, with much of it produced during the months of enforced isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many of the track titles reflect Steve's headspace during this time, with themes of solitude, contemplation and reflection brought to the fore perhaps more than with any of his previous work. Steve's formative musical years were spent during Germany's techno and acid-house heyday, with his love for a perfect groove as apparent now as it was back then. His DJ skills and a keen, innovative ear led him not down the typical path of the early nineties trance and harder dance scene, but instead towards a fresher, hybrid sound-merging stripped deep house, tweaked out acid and more minimal forms of techno and electronic music: a strand of music he fiercely champions to this day. "My mindset when making Never Ending Winding Roads was completely different to any other project I have embarked on. I didn't have to tour, and instead could focus 100% on writing music without having the dancefloor as a constant influence. This allowed me creative freedom to explore a range of styles and emotions, and as a result, it is the album I feel most satisfied with to date." says Steve Bug. With 11 brand new tracks, Never Ending Winding Roads is a meticulously produced and deeply engaging electronic album; one that explores various shades of house, techno and broken beat with Steve's celebrated attention to detail and consummate originality. Album opener Lucid Loops perfectly sets the tone, immediately ensnaring you with a hypnotic, undulating synth line and a faintly menacing undertone thanks to hushed, discordant strings and unnerving vocal stabs. This atmosphere of quiet paranoia permeates many of the tracks on Never Ending Winding Roads, most explicitly in the sinewy groove and sketchy, panic-inducing synth line of Locked Away In My Head. This album more than perhaps any other in his career sees Steve experimenting with broken-beats, to incredible effect. Tracks like A Conscious Machine and Electro Harmonix are melodic, emotionally-rich cuts: burst of radiant optimism that juxtapose beautifully with the album's darker moments. Elsewhere tracks like Yellow Snake find Steve exploring deep, dubby territory, while album closer Upon Mountains is a cosmic, arpeggiated masterpiece: an 8bit computer game soundtrack reimagined as a poignant electro ballad.

Steve Bug - B. Loverboy (Acid Pauli Retouch)
Tracklist: A. Loverboy (Catz 'n Dogz Remix) B. Loverboy (Acid Pauli Retouch) An undisputed classic of the electronic music scene, Steve Bug's 'Loverboy' was released on the first Poker Flat release ever ' Double Action' back in 1999. Over the years it has been reworked only by a few - but the list includes the likes of Josh Wink and Guido Schneider. Now, as part of the 20 years of Poker Flat celebration, more names are added to that remix list with two new superb remixes from Catz 'n Dogz and Acid Pauli. Catz 'n Dogz are a Polish producer duo making big waves in recent years, and their version of 'Loverboy' brims with their unmistakable energy - chugging, hypnotic groove and tons of effects and melodic twists and turns. Berlin legend Acid Pauli approaches it from a different angle - stripping away elements until a deeply trippy skeletal house track remains.

steve bug - Berlinian Rexing
After a run of releases including music from Rex Club residents D'julz and Phil Weeks, and a beautiful Atlantic breakaway with Fred P, Rex Club Music brings in the boss of Poker Flat Recordings, the maestro himself, Steve Bug. A gentleman and a scholar who has been a key figure of the techno scene since its very early days, Steve Bug is also the mastermind behind a prolific and in demand label. He is a man who is always on point, looking to the future, maintaining the present and drawing on the past to operate in that magical intersection between the different eras of time.Indulge in this short course of Rexology for proof of his mastery, which is expertly applied with this polished new EP.First up we have ‘What’s Happened’, a track that occupies the space between tech house, acid and dub. Get ready for some hard stepping on the dance floor when this track is unleashed. Then ROD goes in hard with two remixes of ‘What’s Happened’, upping the ante, increasing the tempo and urgency to create an air of emergency. With ‘Remix One’ ROD has us on high alert, while ‘Remix Two’ focuses a little more on the groove and catchy analogue flashes. On the flip we have a night of ‘Berlinian Rexing’, with its time-lapse atmosphere allowing us to teleport between Berlin and Paris in a cacophony of whirring synths and uplifting stabs. The track plays on timelessness, creating classic tropes and creating the kind of atmosphere that underpins all of the most unforgettable nights.

180 g Vinyl Tracklist 12": A1. Coconut Paradise B1. Thick As Mus B2. Pants On Fire Info: Not content with presiding over three outstanding labels - Dessous, Audiomatique and Poker Flat (now in its 16th year) - and dusting down his long-dormant Traffic Signs pseudonym for the brilliant "Cookie Jar", Steve Bug finds time in his schedule to spoil you with another stellar release. The title track "Coconut Paradise" is a masterclass in crisp, high-definition house, as dubby synths, a solid kick and an insistent bass stab form a deeply hypnotic groove. Sustained tones surge in from the distance - all the elements coming together to create a perpetual motion machine. "Thick As Mud" lives up to its name: this is house music that draws on the deep and deadly palette and spacious arrangements of dubstep and glitch, burnished with snickering percussive repetitions and scything synths. "Pants on Fire" is a restlessly inventive bricolage of unconventional percussive sounds and textures. Metallic tones ping and bounce deliciously in every direction. One EP. Three outstanding tunes. Another formidable addition to an impressive discography.

Barcode 4250382427247 Rel date 9.6.2014 First pressing comes as 180g Vinyl! Tracklist A. Pelican Glide B1. Till It’s Gone feat. Delhia De France B2. Pelican Glide (youANDme Remix) Info Celebrating the 150th vinyl EP release, and as a prelude to 15 years of Poker Flat Recordings, Steve Bug returns to his own label to drop a sizzling three track EP of powerful, seductive house music. Lead cut "Pelican Glide" exhibits his trademark driving grooves and highly effective off-kilter synths – the sort of track that turns dance floors and festivals upside down when dropped at the right moment. The deep kick hits hard while clever interplay between pads, melodic leads and percussion keep the tension finely tuned. Fellow Berliners youANDme yield a remix of "Pelican Glide", which transforms the track into something spacey and cinematic, before subtly reintroducing Steve Bug's killer synth line. Also gracing this release is "Till It's Gone"; built around a tough-as-nails house groove, and coupled with a breathy, alluring vocal from Delhia De France: the grand diva of the German electronic scene.

27 January 2014 EAN 4250382423911 Tracklisting: A The Arpeggio B1 Thickest Bass B2 Smoking Parrot Kicking off the new year Steve Bug style – Poker Flat Recordings sets course for another year of quality house music. The label boss himself presents us with the first transmission of 2014 - and the title succinctly nails what to expect. 'Simple, Thick & Raw' contains three tracks that are simultaneously gritty, tough and highly effective. 'The Arpeggio' contains Bug’s signature control of tension – an arpeggiated synth line bubbles along, hardly restrained, on top of a firing drum pattern, resulting in a groove wound tight and packed with suspense. 'Thickest Bass' is also fairly self explanatory pitched down vocal introduces what might just be the filthiest bottom end Bug has ever produced. The track has a raw, off-kilter quality that will see it destroy many clubs when dropped at the optimum moment. 'Smoking Parrot' completes the trio, a tough yet spacey burner that builds into a indisputable floor-rocker, complete with punchy claps, descending bass-line and Bug’s well honed dynamics.

'EAN 4250382416272 Rel date 18th February 2013 Tracklist: A. No Adjustments feat. Foremost Poets (Steve Bug’s Re-adjustment) B1. No Adjustments feat. Foremost Poets (Alex Niggemann Remix) B2. No Adjustments feat. Foremost Poets (Arttu Remix) Steve Bug returns with a brilliant set of killer reworks from his much-lauded 'Noir' album. 'No Adjustments' features the vocal talents of Foremost Poets, and remains one of the standout moments on the label boss’s enigmatic long player. Where 'Noir' explored the themes of light and shade, it was always clear that 'No Adjustments' was one of the more straight up dance floor moments on there, and as such this release is definitely going to be thankfully received by DJs. Steve Bug himself provides one growling, up-for-it rework – a chunky floor wrecking tool that epitomises the sentiment of the vocal – drop it in and stand well back. Long time Poker Flat collaborator Alex Niggemann is also drawn towards the edgy, menacing vibe, constructing a sick groove that builds via a dirty, swirling synth bass and clattering hi hats. Arttu, the Portuguese producer making waves with his recent releases via Royal Oak / Clone, also puts his stamp on 'No Adjustments'. Raw kicks, claps and hats fire this version along, the vocals cut up, treated and tweaked for maximum effect. The neurotic synths bubble away below the surface before breaking out spectacularly towards the track’s conclusion. A sure-fire ‘wtf?’ moment for ecstatic clubbers worldwide.

Steve Bug, one of the world's most renowned artists in the electronic music circuit, presents his fifth and most mature longplayer. "Noir" doesn't deny its roots, but expands the usual spectrum and invites the listener to an exciting listening pleasure. The title is ‘Noir’. The cover is dominated by the filmic aesthetics of light and shadow. The title evokes a world of shady transactions and secret crimes. Most of the tracks emit a suitably dark and moody atmosphere, with at least three directly referencing the film noir genre – From the well-known classic ‘The Spiral Staircase’, to more obscure ‘Somewhere in the Night’, and ‘The Seventh Victim’. Is ‘Noir’ a concept album? Originally it was planned that way, but in the end Steve found the concept too rigid. "I play all over the world on a constant basis, and always come back with different impressions", says Steve Bug. "Accordingly, this changes the music that I produce. I’ve had the idea to make a concept album for some time, but on the other hand, that’s not the way I work. My music expresses my moods, and of course, they are always changing. " The material for the new album was created over a period of three years, which makes its consistency and coherence all the more amazing. The mood is dark, spooked. Over the relentless beats and basslines ghostly sounds swirl and conspire. Although all the pieces are driven by head-rushing beats, ‘Noir’ is more than ever, a listening album. "If I had worked longer on the album, I probably would have replaced even more of the dance tracks with listening tracks", says Steve. "I think a lot of albums in dance music are not convining as albums - more a collection of tracks, than a coherent whole." ‘Noir’ is definitely different. Although the film noir concept isn’t carried through completely, it infuses the spirit of the record in a way reminicent of the sci-fi obsession of Jeff Mills or Carl Craig. In fact, ‘Noir’ could soundtrack a 21st Century ‘Blade Runner’ - tracks such as the pre-released single ‘Those Grooves’ and ‘No Adjustments’, with their evocative spoken word texts, play in to a vision of an apocalyptic-dystopian disco. ‘Noir’ is very much an electronic album. Richer than its predecessor, these tracks easily transcend the merely functional - Steve Bug has injected the harmonies with serious emotion. Avoiding the trap of many house music producers, Steve has resisted the temptation to throw in an album full of live instrumentation, explaining: "the results have never convinced me. You have to find musicians who understand repetitive music, otherwise the whole thing is so watery." ‘Poison of Choice’, with its sensational guitar solo, is the exception - and the result of a technical difficulty. Due to non-compatible plug-ins, access was blocked to a sample, and Steve ended up asking his mixer Hannes Bieger to play the guitar chords. While the recording was made, the idea to add the solo happened and the results were so good they ended up defining the track. Two of the standout tracks involve sublime vocals from performers Steve has a strong affinity for. Emilie Chick, the Portland born, genre-scrambling rising star brings a femme fatale’s touch of jazz to 'Moment of Ease'. The aforementioned 'No Adjustments' with its driving, edgy groove and out of control synth, is enhanced by the spoken word exhortation to just let the beats flow - the unmistakable work of the Foremost Poet Johnny Dangerous. Aside from that, Steve Bug has always recorded everything on his own – and similarly, developed his distinctive harmonic knowledge by himself. "I have no training as a musician - I taught myself about harmonies. When I realised that many of my heroes in electronic music, whose music always seemed so rich, was done with the help of others, I have always been a little disappointed". In this respect Steve can be proud about the fact that his experience producing the intricate and exceptional ‘Noir’ was achieved on his own. From the driving opener ‘Tell Me Why’ to the emotional closing track ‘The Seventh Victim’, Steve Bug has crafted a rounded, atmospheric album that throws a long and impressive shadow over most contemporary dance albums. 2x12” Tracklist: A1. Steve Bug, - Those Grooves
2
Steve Bug, - Tell Me Why
Steve Bug drops a new outstanding 12” on his own highly prolific Poker Flat Recordings. 'Those Grooves' is the perfect primer for his upcoming album (due out in autumn 2012), and sees the man in fine form - masterfully in control of his sound and producing tracks with a depth of dancefloor knowledge most other producers would die for. 'Those Grooves', the lead track locks into its exquisitely crafted groove early on, holding a taut balance between its individual elements. Mid way through its 10 minutes, Bug drops the tempo and lets the groove breath, before bringing it all back home - an audacious late night club weapon. The flip side is no less dramatic – 'Tell Me Why' creeps up, evolving slowing but surely – before an edgy, freaked out bass line drops over the crisp drums. A true peak-time burner with enough energy and tension to smash any floor. Tracklist: A: Those Grooves B: Tell Me Why (Vinyl Version)

Steve Bug finally returns to Ovum after his 2004 breakthrough Houze EP. Hard to believe it has been 6 years, but during that time Steve has cemented himself as one of the top DJ/Producers in the world. For the A side, Steve brings us My Sweet Vital Angel which is a rocking straight up house jam. Great use of vocal sample here and one that will blow up any primetime set. This has been a secret weapon for Wink all summer. The flipside As It Was shows Steve’s techier side. A perfect track for the likes of Panorama Bar or the Womb in Tokyo. Once again Steve shows how minimal can be maximal!

Steve Bug, - Metro Alpin
2
Steve Bug, - Outside Inn
Brand new Steve Bug cut in the house! Flight 111 is of course Poker Flat Recording's One-Hundred-and-Eleventh release, and Mr. Bug whipped up something rather special accordingly. The haunting A side, ‚Metro Alpin', sees the Bug working on devilishly reduced levels to stunning effect. Evolving from a solid analog base, freaking, tweaking acid lines and smooth phasing chords lock the groove in a constant upward spiral of pure gold. We would expect nothing less from this master of funk and reduction. ‚Outside Inn', flowing poetically from the centre of its gracious vinyl carrier to the outside edge, pushes with raw studio punch and a real moody funk that always seems to be Steve Bug's true vocation. Tense, rising synth themes cross and combine in a majestic dance that instills in the listener the very essence of Steve Bug's infatuation with the late night, the freaky and the infectiously funky!

For the second installment in the ‚Collaboratory Remixes‘ project we are very proud to continue the top class producer list and announce 3 stellar versions by none other than Ben Klock, John Daly and Deetron. First up Bug and Clé‘s tender ‚Month Of Sip‘ is given a deep and pumping autumnal techno remix by Ben Klock. Pushing, dubby and expressive in its subtle details, this is begging to be dropped in the biggest of rooms as the heavy kick thumps right the way through the track. Drifiting, surging and developing over nearly 8 minutes its a warm and welcome entry to the record. Veteran hero Deetron opens up the B side with his equally epic remix of ‚Trees Cant Dance‘. Tough analogue beats and retro vibes greet us from the outset, as the vibe leads us towards a jacking detroit-themed club bomb. Lush arrpegiated synth cascades and an uplifting arrangement are the key to this peak time floorworker. John Daly‘s slow house version of ‚Trust In Me feat. Virginia‘ is an amazingly deep cut that builds from a stomping kick into a whirlwind of carefully controlled acidic atmospherics, melodic sentiments and haunting vocal refrains. Rounding up the B side perfectly, Daly pulls off a dream feat by melting Virginia‘s vocals around a timeless slice of electronic hypnosis.

Steve Bug, - Look Who's Stalking

Steve Bug, - Zero Balance
For more than 15 years now, Steve Bug is known for influential track somewhere in between House, Techno and Minimalism. With his very good sense for the energy of self-limitation, Bug has set standards when it comes to the Funk of modern sound geometry, especially with his imprint Poker Flat Recordings. Milestones such as "Loverboy", "Monsterbaze" or "Wet'n Dry" are now essential elements of the history of electronic dance music. Only a few weeks after the release of his fourth album "Collaboratory", Bug even tops that one with this 12" on Cocoon: while "Look Who's Stalking" obviously refers to Steve's close relation to the raw energy of U.S. House in between Chicago Trax and Detroit, using driving hand claps, percussions and nasty vocals, the flipside "Zero Balance" could pass as a vision of how far you can reduce Techhouse to the essence of a bass line. Also here, short vocal loops - besides the fast-moving elements - complete a sensibility that makes Bug's tracks such high quality music for a very long time now.

Steve Bug, - Swallowed Too Much Bass
‚Swallowed Too Much Bass‘ is the fi rst single to be lifted from Steve Bug‘s amazing fourth artist album, ‚Collaboratory‘ (released on Poker Flat this season.) Alongside the original, which features the thickly spoken vocals of Paris The Black Fu, of Detroit Grand Pubahs fame, the package contains super-hot remixes from Rotterdam‘s Joris Voorn and Detroit‘s Kris Wadsworth. Long time techno superman Joris Voorn lays down a grooving, tracky reduced house remix of ‚Swallowed Too Much Bass‘, much in the style of recent housier outings on his co-run Rejected label, or the Rejected duo‘s recent bomb for Figure records. Voorn throws a sexy, slippery bassline-led track out through the speakers, proving that his big room techno power-play can also work on a lighter, more playful tip. On the B side the original track is included in all its analogue acidic glory. Steve‘s classic production touch and Paris The Black Fu‘s unmissable vocal unite in a rapturous unison of attitude, quality and love for the game... Finally Detroit‘s new upstart Kris Wadsworth delivers a funked out re-shuffl e that‘ll have you grooving no end! Deeper than deep jazz chords, spacey string slices and chunky, rolling beats combine in a late night club killer that proves Wadsworth‘s unique, challenging sound is getting the praise it deserves! Hot.

Poker Flat proudly presents “Collaboratory”, Steve Bug’s fourth artist album! Based strongly on the ideas of collaboration, shared ideas, mutual respect for fellow artists and the strength of combining forces in the studio, Steve chose some very special producers and vocalists to work with on this exciting project. From Berlin natives and well known high-climbers Cassy and Clé (of Märtini Brös), to one half of the Detroit Grand Pubahs aka Paris The Black Fu, ace producers and equally dextrous vocalists are assured. The Southern Hemisphere‘s hottest new export Simon Flower features with Bug on their new teasing cut ‚Passing Clouds‘, while Minimise boss and techno legend Donnacha Costello also went head to head with the Poker Flat maestro in the studio. Thats not to forget the stunning full-length vocals of Brazilian talent Virginia Nascimento on the slow-spun ‚Trust In Me‘, and the classic Chi-Town cut ‚Like It Should Be‘, on which Helsinki‘s Gigi makes a magical rare appearance, sharing her inspiring and heart-felt message. While the snappier moments of the album willl work dancefloors into a frenzy, the whole album breathes an analogue warmth, which is hard to find these days and which underlines the organic character of a fantastic, song-based listening album. Steve Bug chose the fi nest analogue equipment, outboard gear and an analogue console to create an album which is also soundwise a true masterpiece. THE ALBUM - the long awaited fourth artist album of one the world‘s most popular electronic DJ & producer - a „true“ artist-album with an organic, song-based character - features collaborations with Donnacha Costello, Paris The Black Fu (Detroit Grand Pubahs), Clé and Simon Flower - includes strong vocal-tracks featuring Gigi, Cassy and Virginia Nascimento Vinly Tracklist: A1 Swallowed Too Much Bass feat. Steve Bug, - Trees Can't Dance
Poker Flat owner and visionary DJ & producer Steve Bug recently celebrated the 10th anniversary and 100th release for the label. Continuing this buzz, and as always, confirming his rightful place at the top, Steve is now gearing up to release his fourth full artist album. The ‚Two of a Kind‘ EP is a teaser of things to come as the long player drops in a few months time, and what a teaser it is...! Once again joining forces with long-time compadre Clé, of Märtini Brös fame, the pair whip up a deep storm, resulting in the solemn midnight swagger of ‚Month of Sip‘. Cool, metallic pads and trademark tight drums lay the groundwork for a momentous twisted synth line to wrap its way around the senses. Full of tension, drama and stone-cold style, its a track that will define the night‘s - or indeed the morning‘s - dancefloor adventures. Working solo on the B-side, and in-all-outclassic Bug mode, Steve builds perhaps his most drifting, euphoric vision of modern house music to date. Beautiful, phasing synth stabs open this epic-vibed slow burner whose refined elements stay pure and true throughout. If you‘re searching for dynamic, addictive underground house music, full of history and yet remarkably modern, look no further! A: Steve Bug & Clé: Month Of Sip B: Steve Bug: Trees Can‘t Dance

Steve Bug, - A World Without
2
Steve Bug, - Cru Sauvage
Steve Bug is back with a brilliant release to close 2007. In between A&Rring three labels, mixing and promoting two high profile club mix compilations, (fuse presents steve bug, earlier this year and the 37th edition of fabric‘s prestiguous mix series to be released in november), we are glad he has found some studio time. „A World Without“ on the a side is what we love Steve Bug for - his analogue warm sound and his simple understated fashion but unhurried abilitiy to bring in slowly burning intensity taking things to a different level and his talent in using minimal elements for maximum effects. The track kicks off with a subtle groovy beat plus Steve‘s vocal sample and shows him adding layer over layer of nifty sounds building up to a hypnotic groove, after which the more and more stomach punching synth kicks in - he then strips things back to the nude again in the exact right moment. The track has something magical to it from the very first beats, a sure dancefloor winner that will captivate dancers and listeners at both peaktime and after hour sets. „Cru Sauvage“ on the b-side is based on a bubbly bleepy melody, a collage of deep and twisted effects grooving around the beats, heavy offbeat snares, and unexpected house chords. An impeccable production, and the perfect flipside to Steve‘s last release in 2007.

Poker Flat labelhead Steve Bug returns with a new 12", "Wet'n'Dry". "Wet" on the A-side kicks off with a punchy kick'n'shakers and a dark chord which sneaks up from behind and slowly makes your feet move, before the irresistably groovy bassline comes in and paves the way for a slow rising climax. Very nice fresh'n'funky synths take the lead after the break. "Dry" on the flip spreads a darker atmosphere with straight up textured cuts and acid reduced elements. Synth stabs, a dry bassline and a manic melody sequence characterise the track and start to erupt after the middlepart and tighten the tension.

There could be no better start into 2006 than a brand new Steve Bug single. With "Smackman" on the a-side Poker Flat label boss Steve Bug delivers another hip shaking track handwritten in his unmistakeable but fresh style. „I-Thought“ on the -side starts with a clever beat-construction and a great bassline before some smart sound-gimmicks lead over to the first break. Still minimal, but with an incredible groove and great melodies both tracks are sure to leave lots of nice damage on the dancefloor.

After a large array of amazing and very succesful 12‘s Poker Flat proudly presents it‘s 50th single release! Of course this anniversary release is reserved for Steve Bug himself and the biggest tune on Poker Flat: „Loverboy“ was the first 12“ on Poker Flat and kicked started the whole label with it‘s huge worldwide success. There aren’t many tracks around like ‘Loverboy’. Featured on the 1st Poker Flat release „Double Action“ way back in 1999 this track still brings massive enthusiasm on every floor. To call ‘Loverboy’ just a clubhit doesn’t really describe the magic in it. Later remixed by Josh Wink, Matthias Schaffhäuser and Primitive Dub (PFR05) the original track never seems to be out of date. From Poker Flat 01 to Poker Flat 50....Perfect time to remember... Perfect time to celebrate. „Loverboy (re-loved)“ features the updates of the ‚unremixable classic‘ by minimal-wizard GUIDO SCHNEIDER, who is just earning much respect for his latest Poker Flat releases, and STEVE BUG himself feat. Cassy on the re-worked mix. Play it Loud!

„Steve Bug presents Future Retro 101“ opens up a new and very special series on Poker Flat! This first EP offers three excellent old school style acid house tracks with the special „Steve Bug ingredients“ who make this a perfect dancefloor weapon. „Future Retro 101“ comes in that real analog feel, due to the special production technique Steve chose here. From his last trip to Japan Steve brought back a 101 he bought in Tokyo. He was then looking for a way to make the 101 midi-capable, when Poker Flat labelmate Martin Landsky took himto berlin based „Schneiders Büro“ a wholesaler for analog equipment, where he found the Future Retro Möbius, which is a hardware sequencer with all midi to cv gate functions. So for this special 12“ Steve only worked with the Roland SH 101, the Future Retro Möbius for sequencing the 101, an E-MU sampler for the beats and finally his G5 for the recording, editing and some effects. And the result is a thrilling dancefloor EP with brilliant analog sounds and sweet acid drops.

after the super successful recent 12"es "you make me feel", "that kid" and "november girl" - all taken from STEVE BUG's well received album "sensual", Pokerflat's main man lets loose this dead serious contender for this springs clubhit. returning from the Poker Flat World Tour the master of soulful minimal tech house is back with a brand new track in two merciless mixes. "that's what i like" is another classical Steve Bug smasher and an addition to his already superpower like arsenal of hi-tech dancefloor weapons.

Not once rigid or stiff, but slinky and ultra-now,Steve manages to produce a warm and clubby 100% natural, sample-free double album. All lyrics are selfsung except forDJane and Singer Virginia Nascimente 's smooth killer vocals on "All I Need ".The first outtake "You Make Me Feel "-already an underground club-success-is nothing like the warpy minimal "Purple Brain ".The second out- take "Freshly Squeezed "already delivers the new club-hit from the album "That Kid ". The rest is all new and ready to rock.

the relatively young but succesful POKER FLAT imprint can celebrate it's first jubilee release. and of course the 25th release is coming from label head STEVE BUG himself ripping it in fine form with another dancefloor menacing tripple threat of minimal grooves. just as the highly successful predecessor "you make me feel" tracks are taken from the upcomin 3rd steve bug longplayer "sensual" to be released later this year. "that kid" is another prove that steve just needs a few basic ingredients and a slowly building, clever arrangement to tie you in: some warped chords, oldschool synth layers, a bubbling analogue bassline and swinging tech-house beats is all he needs to get you into ass-shaking-mode. for the track "all i need" steve bug colaborated with munich based female singer VIRGINIA NASCIMENTE who is also a popular DJ from munich having started her career as resident of the legendary mandarin lounge. the result is warm, contemplative yet funky tune. on the last track steve experiments with a more downtempo groove backed by acidic sounds and a cute little melody.

while the recent, massive pokerflat double-pack with it's exclusive all-star line-up should still feed the hungriest fans of minimal floorsounds for quite some time, label head STEVE BUG already butters your bread with more bottom-heavy nutrition. slowly but unmistakebly building up a hypnotic groove with a rolling percussion loop, ice-cold snare and hollering vocal (reminscent of gainsbourg's "bonny and clyde"), BUG will force you flashing your sharpest dancing routines even before he throws in that distorted, take-no-prisoners, saunderson-style organ-bassline. flip over for another version that's served up straightened-out and stripped down yet still manages to come up with a higher percentage of FUNK. another totally satisfying five star menu for the pokerflat gourmet.
