Gala – Freed From Desire was first released in 1996 on NiteLite Records in Italy. 2024 and Ministry of Sound Recordings / B1 Recordings are happy to release two fresh new remixes for the first time on limited edition yellow transparent vinyl. Gala wrote this song when she was drawing on a Buddhist concept that challenges the constant craving for more and encourages us to value our principles and our own freedom instead. She believed that ‘Freed From Desire’ could resonate with people all over the world. Arguably one of the biggest sporting songs of all time, it has become a unifying sensation across the world. The main mix has been re-recorded for a whole new generation but is still very true to that original of ’96, whilst on the flip, Diplo; the American superstar, showcases his trademark, energetic, thumping style. Considered as minimalistic, electronic, dark new wave classics, both 12” EPs by DAYS OF SORROW are highly sought after nowadays, fetching insane prices when seen for sale. For this reason and our love for the band we are immensely proud of making these two EPs available again after more than 30 years, in the form of a COMPILATION ALBUM entitled ‘WHATEVER HAPPENS’ which also INCLUDES TWO UNRELEASED SONGS FROM 1986 (and three more in the included digital download) that were shelved and forgotten back then. All songs have been carefully remastered for this awaited release. We bring it to you as a limited, hand numbered edition of 200 black vinyl copies, housed in a matt finish sleeve with printed inner sleeve full of band pics and including a download code.

‘Classics’ receives a long overdue vinyl & CD re-press for 2025, with a fresh vinyl cut by acclaimed mastering engineer Beau Thomas, and a R&S Records sticker sheet inserted into the LP sleeves including cover artwork of the two singles ‘Digeridoo’ and ‘Xylem Tube’ EP which are both featured on this compilation album.

Gothic vocals shrouded by synthesized atmospherics greet you upon entering the world of Xymox. While their album Twist of Shadows isn't exactly industrial in its sound, the bpm's run mid-tempo and sound totally danceable in a New Order-ish way. This expanded remastered double vinyl release includes the club hits "Obsession" and "Blind Hearts," along with several rare 12" mixes and B-sides. A couple of the tracks have string arrangements by famed producer Tony Visconti, who was responsible for several of David Bowie's landmark releases. The two LPs are housed in a gatefold jacket complete with lyrics, and the artwork was designed by Vaughan Oliver of 4AD fame. Originally released in 1989, this is the most accessible Xymox album, selling over 300,000 copies, and their first on a major label. The 2-CD remaster also contains 10 bonus tracks in all with some very rare 12" mixes and B-sides which have never been available on CD.
