Ellen Allien joins forces with Italian synth wave band Ash Code for a formidable collaborative project. Across three tracks they merge their creative energy to produce the fearsome EP - 'Dance and Kill’.
The three track EP represents a perfect marriage of two potent and distinctive sounds, with both acts firing on all cylinders. Across the EP eerie vocal clips, vigorous percussion, stomping bass, distorted vocals, and ominous instrumentation demonstrate the parallels between these sounds. Keith Carnal returns to BPitch with a rousing three-track excursion into the visceral side of techno. Stocked with deadly drum arrangements, thumping kicks and imposing basslines, Keith’s armoury is well equipped to cause maximum impact on the dance floor. The title cut takes us straight into the depths of Carnal’s wild mind, with a bombastic cut that utilises a pitched down spoken word vocal. Lastly, ‘WiederGutMachung’, a brooding cut where Carnal employs a stripped back arrangement to great ef- fect. ‘‘I follow the golden stream…" sings Rosa Anschütz in the title track of her new album, in a cold, clear, determined voice. Underneath, golden interference buzzes and splashes at first, while cold light lies over the "thick water.“ Followed by powerful beats setting in as the trumpet fanfares of the chorus herald victory over the elements.

"Golden Stream" is second album of the 24-year-old artist, who lives in Vienna and Berlin - an amazing work. It can be danced to, but one can also listen to it as a conceptual album; it is as full of beats as it is full of thoughts. Rosa Anschütz plays piano, flute and trumpet, she worked a lot with modular synthesizers in the beginning of her career. Her musical awakening experience was the Atonal Festival in Berlin, later she also danced a lot at Berghain, and Berghain DJ Max Kobosil remixed her song "Rigid". Rosa Anschütz reinforces her enormously versatile vocals -ranging from a pleading breath to a cold New Wave speaking voice - with a relentlessly marching four-to-the-floor techno; but underneath it all, lay polyrhythmic deviations again and again. Clattering and trembling, deep basses digging into the ground, while shimmering veils of sound blow from above. Rosa Anschütz follows the traditions of Dark Wave and Postpunk, but carves deep notches of sound sculpture and romantic smoothness. "Goldener Strom" is a great pop album, full of melodies, aphorisms and beats that immediately catch your ear. A warm welcome to Italian-American producer Matasism, who debuts on BPitch with his four-track EP Can You Feel My Soul. Matasism launched his own label Ma¨ta¨sism in 2017, releasing exclusively via the platform until very recently. Berlin techno luminary Ellen Allien turns her attention to the romantic darkwave duo Lebanon Hanover with this double pack of remixes. These cuts began life as personal edits for her own DJ sets in 2019, appearing in many shows since.

First she takes on ‘Living On The Edge’. Larissa’s vocals sit comfortably on top of the club-focused instrumental, which stays true to the original spirit of the song while reconfiguring it for the dancefloor. The Alientronic Remixes have landed! - Ellen Allien brings in a stellar line up of artists to put their own spin on tracks from her latest album ‘Alientronic’ for the first of several remix packages. Terence Fixmer and Introversion remix ‘Love Distortion’: Terence rocks out with a gnarly guitar riff and extra bold percussion, while Introversion injects a murky feel to his rework, adding a trance-inspired element to hypnotise the listener and take them to another dimension. Having released a slew of records on such labels as Involve, Attic, Odd Even and Dustin Zahn’s Enemy, the Italian duo now presents its most cohesive musical statement thus far on Ellen Allien’s BPitch. On the three tracks of »Drops In Heaven«, Boston 168 seamlessly mold together lysergic acid lines with elements of nineties ambient techno and a rhythmic groundwork that is as thrilling as it is intricate.

The title already gives away that the DJ, producer and Label Boss is all about monotony casted in sounds, the mind has left the body and is only moved by the wind of bass and rhythm. The tracks have been produced on the legendary Roland Aira TR-8, the Roland TB 303 and a Jupiter Synthie in ELLEN ALLIENs living room - a place that is perfect for profound musical time traveling and were finalized at the Studio later on. The journey goes back to the 1990ies in Berlin, a time where she was playing as a guest and resident in the legendary Clubs like E-Werk, Planet and Tresor letting the music absorb her into Techno and Acid spheres. I met Aaron Parr back in 1992 aka the golden era of electronic dance music. Everything was kicking off in the L.A Underground and he was working slap dap in the epi-center at Beatnonstop Records on Melrose Avenue in the heart of Los Angeles. At the time I was living in Santa Barbara still doing my college radio show "The Joy of X" and coming down to L.A on the weekends almost every week since 1989. Aaron had been a mainstay down the street at Streetsounds Records where my then Young friend 19 year old Steve Loria worked alongside warehouse dj & underground legend Barry Weaver.

These were heady times. Clubs, after-hours and renegade break in warehouse jams were the order of the day…every day! The shops fueled the dj's with the dope records and the ravers with the party flyers, the Record Stores were the hub of the whole scene and the key was befriending these upwardly mobile soon to be underground superstars if you wanted fat slabs of wax AND to know where the real deal undergrounds were shaking…literally.

In 1992 I got selected for the U.S Olympic Basketball team and headed back to Europe in an effort to make it to Barcelona and get smashed for the GOLD by the dream team in front of the whole World…no thanks! We got knocked out by Petrovic and the Czechs right b4 Barcelona!
Anywho after 3 months I returned to Cali and there had been a shift, Steve Loria moved up the street from Streetsounds & opened Beatnonstop and it was HUGE! It had quickly become the largest independent record store in the U.S. The scene was massive, everything had exploded. I got in where I fit in and started a weekly Techno club "Happy Planet" on Tuesdays and a House club "NYC" with Doc Martin on a Friday. Both were rammed.

Aaron the industrious Brit from Nottingham & his bredren Dave Fong went to work early too, putting out the Rudiments EP on Worldship Records and then following up with Psycho Ray in 1998.. In 1998 II closed my Culture shop "Soma" down in Santa Barbara, packed up my studio & sound system and moved to L.A official. I had gotten the offer to manage Beatnonstop on Melrose after Steve Loria left and jumped at the chance.

I quickly put together the Beatnonstop Record Label, releasing a double pack "Pacific Coast House EP" feat myself and local producers Aztech Sol, CPen and Kenneth Graham/Steve Loria. I then kicked off PCH Records with "Rhodes Through Space" and after a drunken rendezvous at the Hall of Records Studio one night I signed Aaron & Daves Teflon Dons "My Vice" to the labels.

Vice was right down my alley a dark, grimy acid track with menacing Pacino samples.
After a buying trip for Beatnonstop to NYC. Harry the Bastard from Watts took me down to meet fellow Brit Stefan at Dance Tracks in Manhattan where I found the sample "Our Music" on an accapella in the bins. Super inspired after two weeks trolling round every record distributors warehouse (Watts, Nemesis, Syntax, Downtown etc) and hitting every record store in Manhattan (Vinyl Mania, Discorama, Frankie Bones shop, Satellite and on and on) I came home to L.A and me and Nate loaded up the Emu 64 Ultra sampler and penned "Our Music."

The track is obviously very New York inspired and was received well by Big Apple Dj's David Morales, Junior Vasquez, Roger Sanches & Baby Hec Romero. I would definitely say this track was a slow burner elsewhere and took off later getting the nod from DJ Deep in Paris, + Terry Francis, Eddie Richards and Mr. C in the UK.

It got no love in L.A surprisingly but everywhere else across the country with Miguel Migs and DJ Garth in the Bay, King Britt in Philly and DJ Pope in Baltimore. Now it's back on wax after 25 years remastered by the mighty Martin Iveson and I think the World is finally ready!

As a New Era beckons globally, Manchester's primo Manctalo merchants - Red Laser Records - quietly unveil their latest clutch of specialist space-age kinetics.
A fifth-kind encounter enabling users to bridge the continuum of dance & interaction between our Earth-dwelling selves and the inter-dimensional overlords.

Containing three brand new movements in machine music from our treasured production stable of Kid Machine, Bob SwanS and Il Bosco; it also houses an honorary appearance from revered Danish spearhead Flemming Dalum, who serves up a particle-splitting redux of a lesser-known proto-techno nugget from Belgium.

Stretford based synthesizer technician, Bob SwanS has been drafted in specifically by RL head Il Bosco for his advanced skills on the patch bays. "Aphelion Run Theme", the point of which an object's orbit is furthest from the Sun, vividly detailing in sound the journey our collective consciousness must undergo in order to reach the Highest Elders. We highly recommend utilising this track alongside Dr. Greer's outstanding work with extra terrestrials.

KID Machine's celebratory, vocoder-led Manctalo message: "It's The K.I.D" is a sonic motif to our interplanetary relatives; this cybernetic b-boy's way of spray painting the Red Laser logo over Proxima Centauri B's subway network in neon-blue, pyroxene paint.

Bosco lets loose with one of his most impassioned creations to date too. "We Almost Lost Oddbins" previously titled: "Save Our Scene", a universe-wide cry for help recorded when worldwide limitations on dancing and human co-exchange were at their most aggressive; its nonetheless positive outlook inviting us all to look both inward and outward for solutions in the New Normal.

Encased within a striking monolith art print, depicting the mystic energies of ancient galaxies it heralds the now widely-accepted belief that we are in no way alone in this universe and that channels of communication between more advanced civilisations than ours have already begun...

Circus Operandi is the project of Donatas Chipak and Tumosa, two figures of the Vilnius electronic music scene, and residents at legendary clubs Opium (RIP) and Gallery 1986, where Ivan Smagghe & Niv Arzi (who jointly run Customs & Faces) met them countless times at countless hours. We’re not keen at describing the music we release at C & F, no need for pigeonholing ourselves but this EP completely ticked our boxes : electro, techno and everything in between, punch and deepness included.
