Ian Pooley returns to Rekids with Studio A Pt.3 this September. The third and final entry in a three-part release series based on his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 3’ for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him drop yet another set of bumping, hardware-focussed tracks. Leading the A-side, ‘PSS480’ combines swinging drums, modulated low end, and trippy bleeps for a party-starting house track. ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ brings flanged-out drums and lush pads together for a wonky yet driving cut. On the flip, ‘Viola’ sees Pooley heading toward heavier territories with rumbling kicks and heaving synths forming a pumping techno track before the ‘303 Version’ of ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ closes out the EP, introducing tweaked-out acid lines and freaky FX to the original version. House music legend Ian Pooley readies ‘Studio A Pt. 1’, the first of a three release series, for Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint this September. Active since the early 90s, the German DJ/producer has released on the likes of Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic, as well as remixing for the likes of Daft Punk, Deee-Lite, Carl Cox and many more. Here though, Pooley arrives on Rekids with his first ever contribution to the label, delivering three direct and grooving house tracks. Leading the release, ‘Basic Juno’ sees modulating synth lines deftly placed around chunky drums accompanied by pulsing basslines and shimmering pads, before ‘Close Your Eyes’ brings a dose of trippy vocals and shuffling percussion amongst interplaying hardware for a punchy start to the B side. ‘303 (2 Bars)’ brings the release to a close with pounding drum machines, meaty acid lines, and blissful leads.

Ian Pooley returns to Pooledmusic with his first solo EP of original material on the label since his 2013 album
‘What I Do’. The intervening period has seen Pooley release another hugely popular EP for Innervisions and launch
Pooledmusic’s techno-focused sister label Montage with a pair of new releases under his tougher Silvershower alias,
while labels including Figure, Rejected and Scenario have been mining his rich back catalogue to re-release some of
his best loved classic productions.
The Turakina EP follows Pooledmusic’s previous two EPs from the label’s extended family, SHOW-B and
Indira Paganotto, in 2014. Whereas 2015’s focus was on the launch of Montage, 2016 welcomes Pooley back to his
main imprint with another three-track 12” that mines the expressive, textured house music that won Pooley a new
generation of fans on his Innervisions releases.
The A-side, Turakina, is a classic Pooley groove, stripped down
to its elements then layered with melodic detail that builds over the course of the track, subtly bringing a sense
of compelling urgency. The B-side finds two versions of the deeper, more emotional Mudou.
The original version is in the same ‘miniature epic’ mold of 2012 hit Compurhythm, conveying the same sense of
dancefloor drama, while the Dub take a lighter touch to tease out even more of its melancholic nature.
The Turakina EP is dedicated to the loving memory of Pooley’s beloved dog Basil, who recently passed away
at 12 years of age.

Ian Pooley makes his debut appearance on Simple to kick start what is shaping up to be a bumper year for the label. German Ian Pooley hails from Mainz but recently found a new home in Berlin. Ian is well known as a remixer and for his own prolific output bridging the gap between techno and house, creating superb tracks such as the massive 'Celtic Cross' and 'Chord Memory' on the Force Inc. Music Works, as well as recording more housier and disco orientated workouts for labels such as John Acquaviva's Definitive Recordings, Effective Records and NRK Sound Division. Ian has also remixed for
Daft Punk, The Cardigans, The Beloved, Green Velvet, Modjo, Nick Holder and many more. Ian has recorded two albums for V2 Records, his debut "Meridian" was a classic late 90s Pooley album, full of tech-house delights and including the massive "What's Your Number" as remixed by Jazzanova and Bob Sinclair. A long term collaborator of Pooley, lending rich keyboard work to the legendary producer’s records over the years, Ulf Kleiner is better known outside of electronic music. Taken from his 2020 LP, ‘Pianoskop’, ’Tubes Grande’ is a light but immersive piece of acoustic modern Jazz that, at just 3.36 minutes, begs repeat listens. Pooley’s interpretations, a ‘Main Version’, ‘Dub’ and ‘Analog Piano Dub Mix’ lead Kleiner’s work to the dancefloor in distinct ways, showing off the producers deft touch and studio experience across the package. his best loved classic productions.
The Turakina EP follows Pooledmusic’s previous two EPs from the label’s extended family, SHOW-B and
Indira Paganotto, in 2014. Whereas 2015’s focus was on the launch of Montage, 2016 welcomes Pooley back to his
main imprint with another three-track 12” that mines the expressive, textured house music that won Pooley a new
generation of fans on his Innervisions releases.
The A-side, Turakina, is a classic Pooley groove, stripped down
to its elements then layered with melodic detail that builds over the course of the track, subtly bringing a sense
of compelling urgency. The B-side finds two versions of the deeper, more emotional Mudou.
The original version is in the same ‘miniature epic’ mold of 2012 hit Compurhythm, conveying the same sense of
dancefloor drama, while the Dub take a lighter touch to tease out even more of its melancholic nature.
The Turakina EP is dedicated to the loving memory of Pooley’s beloved dog Basil, who recently passed away
at 12 years of age.

Detroit original, Terrence Dixon, returns to Tresor Records to kick off 2026 with ‘When Stars Remember’. Despite his thirty-year career, Terrence has always managed to keep a lower profile than his peers; he has given few interviews, preferring instead to speak through his music, with
cryptic song titles hinting at the thoughts swirling around their creation.
However, ‘When Stars Remember’ finds him stepping forward. “I wanted to get closer to the dancefloor. I consciously made this one feel louder…made with Tresor specifically in mind.” And the EP does just that: whilst many of the hall marks of a Terrence Dixon production are
present, the drums are more forward; the synth arpeggios so bold that ‘monumental’ seems a better descriptor than ‘minimal’.
“I put three or four sounds together on the same track, layering to make something bigger”, he says of opening track ‘Mono Collapse’, though the statement could apply to any of the music appearing on the release as all four pieces fold in sonics to create something hypnotic; more
than the individual parts: “If you stick with the same layered tones, and repeat it over, after a while your brain changes it on its own; you hear a lot of things: things that you didn’t notice at first, things that maybe aren’t even there.”
The absence of things is another main theme of the EP, especially what Dixon sees as ‘The Forgotten’, a group of fundamental principles like common sense, trust, loyalty, honesty and respect that are missing from modern life. “This world is different…the love is gone. But I love
everybody, man. I think, secretly, everybody love everybody, but they just don’t know it.”

“I put three or four sounds together on the same track, layering to make something bigger”, he says of opening track ‘Mono Collapse’, though the statement could apply to any of the music appearing on the release as all four pieces fold in sonics to create something hypnotic; more
than the individual parts: “If you stick with the same layered tones, and repeat it over, after a while your brain changes it on its own; you hear a lot of things: things that you didn’t notice at first, things that maybe aren’t even there.”
The absence of things is another main theme of the EP, especially what Dixon sees as ‘The Forgotten’, a group of fundamental principles like common sense, trust, loyalty, honesty and respect that are missing from modern life. “This world is different…the love is gone. But I love
everybody, man. I think, secretly, everybody love everybody, but they just don’t know it.”

Shortinfo: DJ Koze's 2013 album opus Amygdala has continued to bewitch all who encounter it since its release. Tipped as his own personal Sgt. Pepper, the sublime long-player revealed a fully-realised and personal body of work, complete with a classic songwriting at its core, House in its heart, and veins coursing with psychedelic color. "La Duquesa" was the album's dreamy single standout, a journey into deep, tropical ecstasy.
"XTC" begins in the same spirit, and captures the all the blissful allusions of its name, but its initial gentility belies the deep intensity to come. Floating pads glow with celestial ambience as a kick drum is gradually coaxed into solid form, and the introduction of spoken text begins the second act. "Many people are experimenting with the drug Ecstasy," it says, "…is the drug like the lie and meditation the truth? Or am I missing something that could really help me?". "XTC" then transforms: sweetly imploring tones become demanding, gentle gradients between chords turn hard-edged, and sharp hi-hats cut through the haze. Complete with Koze's signature percussive quirks, it drives towards the track's final pay off: an undeniable, all-consuming, irresistible high.
"Knee On Belly" recalls Koze at his most tongue-in-cheek and overt; it is bright, bold and literally brassy, using cut-up horns of all shapes and sizes to patchwork together his own unique arrangement. With the highs and mid ranges accounted for, Koze adds in a swollen, thrumming bass line to mix to bring this floor-filler to life. "Knee on Belly" recalls a raw, filtered and funky approach to groove, with a nod to disco house and the art of artful sampling, as it orbits between its own neon highs and simmering lows.

Dark Entries returns to the steam room with Coatshek’s Sound Bath. For their SoundBaths series, now-defunct poppers brand Double Scorpio commissioned artists to make mixes for an imaginary queer bathhouse. When asked to contribute, San Francisco-based artist Coatshek aka Sheki Cicelsky took the opportunity to create original compositions. The resulting album, Sound Bath, serves as a masterclass in slow and sultry ambient techno. Taking inspiration from Pink Floyd, Manuel Göttsching’s E2-E4, and his friend’s DJ mixes (particularly Nick Moss and Matthew Paul’s for “Por Detroit”), Coatshek landed on 107 bpm as the optimal speed for sauna sex. With just a few synths, his Telecaster, and “lots of delays, reverb, and weed,” he sculpted stunning cuts like the effortlessly grooving “Softest” and the psych-laced “Triple Virgo.” The cover for Sound Bath was designed by Coatshek’s fiancé Nate Sprecher, and features photographs by Luke Kraman taken at The Ever Afters campout. The album also includes an insert featuring the Double Scorpio SoundBaths series artwork by Blake Wright. Equally hypnogogic and sexually supercharged, Sound Bath situates the bathhouse as a liminal dreamspace of unbounded erotic potentiality.

As the evenings close in, JPLS makes a timely return with more dark, brooding electronics. This year has already seen the release of the Twilite LP, establishing him as one of the leading exponents of 21st century conceptual techno; this time round however, there are a few subtle shifts of emphasis. The beats are tougher for one, plus there’s a distinct acid flavour to the proceedings but the tracks still retain that otherworldly appeal that defines his productions. Listening to JPLS is like catching your reflection in a broken mirror. The urgent repetition of Fuckshuf fle seems to exist in a million different places at once while the bubbling acid bass worms itself into your head, scribbling odd patterns of thought across your subconscious that slowly dissolve like smoke rings.
