In 2025 Acid Jazz announced the Spring Revisited project, in collaboration with Ace Records, exploring the musical legacy of the iconic New York label Spring Records, with a series of new mixes and limited edition vinyl releases.
After the rapid sell-out of the first release – 12” mixes of Millie Jackson’s iconic ‘We Got To Hit It Off’ from Dimitri From Paris and Opolopo respectively – they are introducing a special 7” to the series. This release is fronted by Dimitri’s ‘Liberated Woman Edit’ of the track – a vinyl exclusive, dance-floor and flight-ready for DJ sets this summer. It is backed by a special edit of Dave Lee’s inspired disco mix of The Joneses ‘Love Contest’.
It is presented in a beautiful, aged reproduction of the classic Spring house-bag, looking as if it were hand-delivered to you from 1979. Limited to 500 copies.

‘Night Fever’ is an electro-disco track released in 1976. Keeping the soulful vocal and strings from the original, house legend Kenny Dope beefs up a looped section of the percussion that forms the backbone of his version. When Acid Jazz was in its mid-1990s pomp, it released a lot of great records. Sometimes they flew past at such a pace, we had moved on to something else before we realised how good they truly were. ‘Lovesick’ by the Night Trains is one such record.
A phenomenal mixture of a distinctive sample turned into a un-ignorable groove, an unforgettable melody (and the soulful vocal from Marcia Johnson), weaved around a Miles-like trumpet. It should have been a hit. But it wasn’t. Instead, it is a cult classic, which we are being fully indulgent in releasing on a 7-inch single.
Night Trains were the brain child of Hugh Brooker, and they released the first ever acid jazz single in 'Open Channel D’, appearing on early groundbreaking Acid Jazz compilations. It resurfaced on the label in 1993 with the ‘Sleazeball’ album, from which Lovesick was the lead single. Hugh has in many forms kept the group going until the present day. A testament to persistence and good taste, in the face of industry indifference. Hugh is one of the originals and we are proud to still work with him to this day.
This is the first time that ‘Lovesick’ has appeared on a 7", and it is flipped with the previously-unreleased on vinyl ‘Only Know About Love' on the B-side.

Twisted Tongue follow up their acclaimed debut album with the first single from their follow-up LP, ‘A Return to Space’, available on 12” vinyl from Acid Jazz Records on January 17th, 2010. Eschewing the p-funk stylings of their self-titled debut, Twisted Tongue (Dave Jay & Mark Dalton) provide an essential revival of the mid-tempo soul stepper, featuring guest vocalist Johanna Lee sweetly leading a tough, incessant groove that recalls the classic likes of Nick Martinelli and the Mizell Brothers. Twisting the track even further are the remixes provided by DJ Ray Mang (DFA, Mangled), one of the founders of London’s nu-disco scene, who has long taken inspiration from New York’s golden era of The Loft and Paradise Garage. Belgian duo Borokov Borokov present their new EP on Magma Records. Inspired by a surreal, feverish dream by one of its members, World War captures the raw energy of the band's live performances.
Incorporating live musicians, including the voices of Lara Chedraoui (Intergalactic Lovers) and Frankie Traandruppel, and co-produced with Youniss Ahamad, the EP showcases Borokov Borokov's distinctive blend of chaos and artistry while venturing into new dimensions of their sound. Departing from their signature DIY approach, the band enlisted Youniss Ahamad as a co-producer to bring out a visceral, live feel. Drums, bass guitars, and brass instruments layer over their electronic foundation, with guest vocalists adding depth to each track's unique intensity.
World War is a molten blend of sounds and emotions-a dance between chaos and order, built to radiate heat that pulls listeners into its burning core. Balancing raw analog sequences, mesmerizing chants, distorted effects and hypnotic synth loops, their new output embodies the sounds of a post-apocalyptic dream, influenced by DFA-inspired Electro Funk, echoes of the Italo Disco era, angular post-punk, and trippy Acid House.
Designed for the eccentrics of the dancefloor, the EP is slated for release on February 28 on vinyl and all digital platforms via Magma Records.

The young Brussels producer signs his first EP "NOCTUELLE" on the MAGMA label (Umbra, ECHT!, TUKAN). Between powerful and jerky rhythms and melancholic chords, Bleu Mustang's music can be listened to both in the back of a Berlin hangar and while contemplating a landscape.
