Just over a year ago Cassy embarked on her largest and most personal project yet, her debut solo album ‘Donna’, released on revered imprint AUS Music. Since then, Cassy has put out a string of remixes on Powerplant, Turbo, Echoe and Watergate, plus a track on Muna’s latest VA. Throughout this period, Cassy has also been in the studio working on new material, the first of which to be released in September, and is titled ‘Cassy 004’. As the title infers, Cassy is reawakening her self-titled imprint she created in 2006, and has had three previous releases until now. With no plan or set schedule, the remit was simply to release her own records, when the time is right, and the quality is high. The music always reflected the quirkier side to Cassy’s club tastes. And 004 continue in this vein. It perfectly encapsulates the sleek and hypnotic sounds of the harder end of her DJ sets. The tracks are titled ‘One’ and ‘Two’, with Cassy giving ‘One’ a reshape to round off a trio of cuts aimed at the dancefloor.

The label’s sixth release, Cassy takes a step back and gives this collaborative duo yet another outlet to showcase their dancefloor fodder, which follows releases on Kaluki Music, Mr. Nice Guy, Reptile Dysfunction, Ovum Recordings and, of course, I’m A House Gangster. Extraterrestrial Intelligence reminds fans of not just their deftness in producing tough house cuts, but also their prowess at manipulating the Roland TB-303 to deal a solid smacking of acid. ‘UFO’ reaches out to roughen up the humanoids of this planet with the 303’s distinctive squelch and those clattering drum machine rhythms – a track that’s guaranteed to get you twisted. Gruff vocals on ‘Click Thang’ break through as a tough bassline ensures your participation on the floor, and ‘Last Daze of Dizko’ maintains momentum with a thumping bassline that any peak-time burner should possess.

After sharing his flair for producing polished house grooves on Kwench Records’ last EP, Philly veteran Pete Moss returns to collaborate with Cassy on the fifth release. This instalment gives two original tracks, and introduces AUS Music steamroller Marquis Hawkes into the fold as remixer. Keeping to mind that Cassy’s motive was to produce with esteemed artists that she personally came to admire, to be enlisted on two EPs is a testament to Moss’s finesse. For Marquis Hawkes, Cassy’s admiration runs deep into his ability to expertly produce quality house music on many levels. Last year he had three critically exclaimed releases on Aus Music, with ‘The Basement Is Burning’ EP securing its place as a summer smash. Hawkes blazes into ‘I Want You’ wielding sharp kicks and soaring pads, creating a mesmerising track that’s sure to elevate clubbers. On the B-side, Cassy and Moss’ ‘You Said’ breaks the silence and grabs us with the kind of spacey, distorted vocals that are sure to hypnotise listeners. Hawkes then leaves his mark by offering a euphoric slab of dance floor fodder that’s driven by a robust bassline for those peak time moments.

Collaborating with producers Cassy holds in high regard is the modus operandi of her newly launched label, Kwench Records. Powered by the finesse of US veteran Pete Moss, the fourth EP dips the imprint into a slicker, more sensual side to house music. And adding fire to the flame is the legendary Ron Trent, who completes the release with a scorching ten-minute remix. Cassy launched Kwench Records with a burning appetite to create house music with esteemed producers whose careers could be defined by their eagerness to experiment. With her championing Moss’s and Trent’s productions for years, she approached the fourth release confident that their collaborative material would be dynamite. Cassy, among hundreds of her peers in the dance music sphere, has been an ardent admirer of Chicago house hero Ron Trent for years. With a huge back catalogue dating back to 1990 it’s safe to say he holds a special place within dance music.

For the third release on Kwench Records, Cassy collaborates with Stockholm’s Art Alfie. Between them they deliver two diverse tracks brought together with a touch of class and Cassy’s distinct vocal. For the remix, German DJ / Producer Chris Count rounds off the EP by delivering an acid tinged version of ‘Solar’. Although quite different, Cassy enjoys both Art Alfie and Chris Count’s productions for similar reasons. “Their music is produced so stylishly. You can tell they have put a lot of time into really listening to music. They know how to build in a natural way. The second release from Cassy's new collaborative label 'Kwench Records' sees New York native Fred P turn in three stellar remixes of Cassy & Demuir's 'Please Me' from the labels inaugural release from November. The remit for each release on the label is for two (or more) collaborating artists to produce original material, whilst a different artist will deliver one remix. However, after hearing three fantastic interpretations from Fred P, Cassy was adamant that the tracks were so special, they had to have their own release. "His remixes exceeded expectations, and it's incredible how direct and beautiful they all are." - Cassy Cassy has been an admirer of Fred P's work for many years. She loves the way his music is expressed and its immediate nature. 2017 has been a vintage year for Fred P, with his 'Instinctive Rhythms' EP and FP-Oner album '7', garnering critical acclaim from across the board. The 'Please Me Reshape Project' continues the New Yorker's fine vein of form across three mesmerising tracks. Kwench Records is a project centred around Cassy's belief that dance music should be natural and a pure expression, a view shared by the artists she invites on board. Both Cassy and Fred P are practitioners of the label's ethos, looking to create songs that resonate with the listener, as well as themselves. "It's not about hit records, it's about making music for real, and with the intention of what you can give, rather than what you can get." - Fred P The three remixes share Fred P's inimitable sound, with the 10 minutes of his 'Journey Mix' slowly embracing and developing into a cosmic voyage. The 'Fixation Mix' is an up-tempo cut, with ambient synth keys perched over brooding bass notes. The final track from the EP, 'Broken Vibes Mix', features Cassy's distinct vocals over carefully muffled claps and broken beat.

Following a string of remixes throughout 2016, and one of her busiest summers on the road, Cassy is rounding off the year on a high. Enter ‘Kwench Records’, a collaborative imprint she has created to represent honest and upfront House Music. The remit is simple, on each release two or more artists will collaborate on EP original material, with a different artist joining the package on remix duty. They must not be afraid to experiment, nor do what comes naturally to them. And above all, trust in themselves and their instincts. This is something Cassy has proudly learned to master over her DJ career, and she now wishes to put out records in a creative space that encourages this approach. For the first release, Cassy has called in one of her favourite House Music producers, Canada based Demuir, to collaborate with her. Demuir’s ‘Derrick Does Disco’ EP which came out on Great Lakes Audio in 2016 was a favorite in Cassy’s sets throughout that year, even making it onto her Mixmag presents CD ‘Let’s Talk About Donna’, which accompanied her cover in June. There are three original cuts on the package, and as a special treat for the first release, Cassy is holding back the incredible remix package until later this year.

Mysticisms returns, looking to the source, Detroit City, with the beautiful house music of Soiree Records International and their 1995 deep vocal bomb, That’s How Lovers Be.

Established in 1990 by Derrick Thompson, Soiree has long focused on the deeper side of house, late night rhythms across over 70 releases. Never making a shout out about it, the label might not of garnered the kudos it deserves while laying down a tight standard of cosmic sonic delight.

Featuring in the main on Thompson’s own Drivetrain releases, his production skills are deployed on this one time project. Written and sung by Montaze Armstrong, alongside the smooth accompaniment of Merchon Bower, the production is ubiquitous Drivetrain. His main mix sets the scene; hats proffering swing and impetus while bass and chords underpin the vocal interplay to skyward perfection.

Once again the label conjoins a latter day contemporary and admired producer to offer their own retake and who better than the essential producer of all things deep, Nail. A huge influence on the label during the formative years of (free party) house music’s ascent, his recent return has been widely welcomed. His ‘mix’ is full of respect and perfect pitch, adding his distinctive low-end rumble, hypnotic hats, skips, loop and shake.

To close, it’s all about the legend that is Scott Grooves. Nothing more needs be said, his 9-minute ride show jazz roots worn firmly. Rhodes, claps, piano and vocal are all that’s needed. Loose, funky and soulful from a true master.

Radio Slave presents the second remix EP for ‘All Rize’, releasing 19th December 2025, a follow-up to his May collaboration with Kameelah Waheed, enlisting DJ Minx, Boogie Vice & N-You-Up, DJ Sodeyama’s The People in Fog alias, and Jabes to reimagine the track. It follows the ?rst remix package, featuring Harry Romero and Samaran in October, which won support from Laurent Garnier, Chloé Caillet, Saoirse, Honey Dijon, and many more. Detroit’s First Lady of Wax, DJ Minx, follows her appearance at Rekids’ Panorama Bar takeover in August and steps up ?rst. Her remix is a raw, club-ready workout built around a relentless groove and Kameelah Waheed’s commanding vocal mantra, as bleeps and whistles dance across the mix. Linking Cape Town and Southern France, Boogie Vice & N-You-Up follow their 2025 EP on REK’D and deliver a deep cut that slowly builds tension, its organic percussion and warm bassline leading toward a strobe-lit, tripped-out drop. On the ?ip of the second ‘All Rize’ remix EP, Japan’s DJ Sodeyama, under his The People in Fog alias, drifts into more hypnotic territory. Lush pads wash over a low-slung beat and bassline, trading the club for the walk to the after-hours by carrying Waheed’s vocal into something surreal and dreamlike. Completing this left-of-centre B-side, Timedance and Kindergarten’s Jabes twists the original into a warped, textural trip with scratching layers and distorted vocal fragments that pierce through a dense atmosphere. If Sodeyama’s version is the dream, Jabes’ is the chaotic counterpart that follows.

Marking his return to Mind Against’s HABITAT imprint, German DJ/producer Sam Shure steps forward with ‘Best Of Me’ - a sophisticated four-tracker that reflects his continued evolution as a producer and performer. Known for fusing adventurous electronic design with melody-driven storytelling, Shure’s latest EP captures both the energy of the dancefloor and the introspective moods that define his sound. Airglow Fires' is the first new Lone material to emerge since his masterful 'Galaxy Garden' album, his most complete body of work to date.
Departing from the themes of the rave/hardcore revival and cinematic interstellar travel, 'Airglow Fires' sees him exploring a more considered and intimate sound alongside a rediscovered love of classic hip-hop, as he explains "I love hip hop and house music when it's at it's rawest - to me 'Airglow Fires' has that kind of 90's basement vibe to it, where the lines between the two genres are kind blurred". As a comeback single, 'Airglow Fires' has certainly been worth the wait - arriving just in time to surely nestle its way into all discerning DJ's record boxes this summer - from the opening celestial melodies to the insistent processions of jazz inflected chords dance around the crunchy proto house drums that shuddering sub bass it's obvious that this track has golden sunshine in its DNA. On the flip 'Begin To Begin' explores similar territory to 'Airglow Fires' but wears its charms in a more subdued, but no less infectious manner - a repeating hypnotic chord stab, draped with burbling synth melodies and yet more tough drums combine for a sumptuous and mesmeric listen - as the song says "am I dreaming? am I awake" - with music like this to soundtrack your dreams, who would want to wake up?
