Oliver Dollar’s Industry Standard welcome Detroit’s Outr Drive featuring vocalist Steffanie Christi’an for a vinyl release on the label. This package presses up the original ‘You Don’t Know’, first released on the label in 2021, with remixes from John Arnold & KON. The original sees Outr Drive deliver a low slung, soul drenched, deep house track with a live bass line and lush keys that set the tone of a track for a wonderful vocal from Steffanie. The song is both emotive and seductive and shows off her amazing vocal range. Detroit’s John Arnold steps up for the first remix taking his version into a deep electronic, synth driven work out, using the vocals to blistering effect over his swirling Detroit styled synth chords. Over on the B-side we have some disco gold from Boston’s KON. He’s crafted a vintage styled disco record around the vocal that sounds truly authentic, almost feeling like it was recorded in a live session. This mix oozes quality and will be a timeless floor pleaser for the cooler floors. More

Oliver Dollar returns to his own Industry Standard imprint after his debut album 'Another Day Another Dollar' and the run of singles on IS were licensed to Classic Music Company. 'Dreams for Sale' is stellar collaborative cut with Detroit's Mike 'Agent X' Clark featuring vocals from Dr Tingle Fingers. The single also welcomes Bendersnatch to the Industry Standard family who step up on remix duties. The original work kicks off with a rich house groove, paving the way for a slightly eerie strings loop and subtle pumping bass line which locks you in from the off. Dr Tingle Fingers delivers beautiful spoken word in classic house form proving simplicity really can be key as the track develops effortlessly throughout its entirety. Bendersnatch takes things towards the backroom as darker fuzzy kicks rattle you inside and reverb soaked stabs float effortless over the even more minimalistic percussion. Tingle Fingers' vocals appear in stripped back form complimenting the more underground tones of the rework. 'Dreams for Sale' is a strong return for the label with two tracks that cover classic deeper house, and crunchy off-kilter techy vibes. Over the past decade, Kasra V has blossomed as a prominent figure in the music industry, particularly through his renowned residency on NTS Radio which has expanded his profound knowledge and expertise in music. Since landing his radio residency in January 2014 he has successfully broadcast over 200 radio shows, making use of the format to explore a wide array of sonic attitudes, styles and systems. To celebrate his achievement Kasra V launches his own imprint V-Sion which he will not only use for his own release output but also to propel his vision of contemporary dance music. To kick things off he presents a stunning 9-track compilation '10:10 Kasra V presents 10 years on NTS Radio' featuring unreleased tracks from some of his most revered guests who have graced his show throughout the years. Each contribution is wholly in line with Kasra V's genre-spanning approach. Over the years some periods have seen him playing straightforward club music, others featuring an extended notion of listening music. One hears a whole breadth of influences in his releases on acclaimed labels such as Radiant Records and Shaytoon Records: collected strands of rave, acid house, San Francisco breakbeat, new beat, ambient, oddball pop from 90s and 80s, UK bleep and so on. The regularity of a broadcasting residency pushed him to carry out a constant study of the history of dance music, and he envisions V-Sion as an output to curate musical output, contributing to the ongoing dialogue between past, future and the ever-changing fulcrum of the sonic present. The tracks presented on 10:10 are also emblematic of this historically-informed approach to dance music. They are all tuned for the floor, but present a range of possible floors to conjure: Fantastic Man's progressive opener, "Neural Filter", is airy and laced with delicate breakbeats, while "Archangel Waltz" by Sepehr presents a shadowy drama of string samples and throbbing bass swells."Qadak" by 500SEC lays an anthemic Arabic melody over bubbling electro; 2 tracks prior, Angel D'Lite circulates a whisper and moan through the mix of a euphoric, rave-stabbed anthem. The latter encouraged Kasra to put out this very compilation, which is just a testament to the value of the company we keep. More

Introducing the latest addition to the KEY Vinyl family: Irish artist Casey Fables, who takes the steering wheel for the next sonic endeavour.
An EP pumped with tight minimalism, sampled, groovy techno. From end-to-end it's paced with a teasing sort of reserve and sleek progression that works equally well on the dancefloor or headphones. It's a funky, slippery and sophisticated ride into the centre of the modern dance floor and highly recommended to those that know. Opening with 'Heilung', Fables showcases his knowledge of track building through subtlety and restraint. It's one that ebbs and flows, snakes and seduces with a tensile, minimalist groove control. A2 'Krava' is a massive TIP - simply very tasty, hard-to-resist techno. Here the artist smudges all sharp contours for a more dubbed, swinging groove. Note well the breathed vocal which adds to an impeccable layered construction, creating a lovely puzzle of tempos. On with the flip, 'Blumen' maintains a moderate, laid-back flare while diving deeper into sensorial displays through gritty textures and sporadic bleeps. A DJ tool with all the frills trimmed for streamlined mixing potential. Closing the release is 'Late Night Liquor Store', a fun, funky and fresh piece with a full-bodied 4/4 template and once again smudged voices for an extra boost of intrigue.

“It’s just too easy to make a standard dance track,” Aphex Twin said of his mindset back in 1992. “You’ve got to put a bit of thought into it to get something a bit different.” ‘Didgeridoo’ was released on the Belgian R&S Records label in 1992, and originally peaked at #55 in the UK singles chart in May of that year. Over the last 32 years the track has become one of the essential Aphex Twin tracks in a gargantuan catalogue that continues to amaze and inspire. “I wanted to have some tracks to play to finish the raves I used to play in Cornwall, to really kill everybody off so they couldn’t dance,” Richard D James, AKA Aphex, told Select magazine back in the 90s. “Digeridoo came out of that.” Released as a 4 track EP that also included early Aphex productions (now classics) including the industrial, acidic clang of ‘Flap Head’ and hyperbolic futurism of ‘Isopropanol’, the release cemented a relationship with the R&S label that went on to release the ‘Xylem Tube’ EP and the pivotal album ‘Selected Ambient Works 85-92’ in the same year. The label’s owner & A&R Renaat Vandepapeliere reflected “When I first heard Aphex Twin’s music I said, ‘This is it!’, and everybody else said, ‘You’re crazy!’ …a lot of the hardcore R&S fans dropped us. To them it wasn’t music.” ‘Didgeridoo’ (Expanded Edition) is the first time the EP has been re-issued with extra material. Whilst digging in his DAT archive (allegedly stored in an airtight military ammo box), Richard James revisited the recordings, encoding them through a Nakamichi CR7e cassette deck, using the customised deck with vari-speed to encode at speeds “felt right at the time”. Alongside these CR7e versions, the original mixes have been remastered by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering, offering a dilated insight into one of electronic music’s most endearing releases. Deep and hypnotic. That pretty much sums up the new Nacreous-EP by Shoal on the Dutch imprint NOWHERE. The title refers to a certain glow or color that mother-of-pearl radiates. Shoal is the alter ego of Utrecht-resident Kenny Dean Kneefel. When you have a name that sounds like a famous stuntman, you are probably prepared to take more risks. And indeed that's exactly what this producer from the lowlands does on Nacreous. Shoal's four track EP combines hallucinant grooves with delicate sound design. Like on Bygone Drums, where ominous distant sounds from a nearby factory creep between the shadows. The same can be said of the title track, a tribalistic tune with a delicate dark undertone. Never Endings is more uplifting, with its dubbed out basslines and crispy hi-hats. Dubtechno that reminds us of both Monolake and Fluxion. Closing track Morning Float is indeed that, a trip in a blue tank filled with warm water, where you are comforted by beautiful strings and sounds of nature. More

First track of the record is '27', bringing out rolling rhythms and sensual layers which build up to a sinuous tension, perfectly balanced between uplifting groove and suspense.
On the other hand, A2 handles a bleepy, distorted universe in tune with the characteristic KEY sonic dimension. 'Don't call me baby' is one you've definitely heard the label boss playing throughout the past months. A catchy, contemporary and genuinely hip shaking device. Up next goes B2 'La Noche', a perfect tune for those long and intense closings composed by a jolly harmony of chords and delicate blups which cohesively narrate the end of a well written story.
