Physical Education present their first release of 2025, Metamorphosis from SY. Originally from Manchester and now based in Portugal after years in Berlin, SY’s seasoned craft materialises in his groovy, housey tracks with old school rave and progressive house touches. Side A opens with the energy inducing ‘Beyond Expectations’, translated also into ‘Warehouse 92’. On Side B, the richly textured, retro-leaning, and irresistibly danceable ‘Metamorphosis’ creates a solid footing for Paolo Mosca’s remix, which closes the record. Metamorphosis comes in exciting time for SY, who has a forthcoming EP slated for release on Slump and continues to lead his own imprint, E&X Records.

Argentinian artist and Calypso’s Dreams label hear Richer guides a tour of integration and transformation with his new release The Globalization. The four tracker enticed summer early with the opener Tropicana and makes her stay with Catch the Rhythm’s playful yet spacious grooves. Side B continues the tour from bass to house, stopping for catchy layered classic house drums in Bring That Bass and closing with modern electro synths in The Global House.

Cyan. A moniker for one of the ‘90s standout musical exponents: Bryan Zentz. A firm favourite in vintage house circles, Physical Education will soon welcome him to the fold. They’ll be re-issuing tracks from his discography to create Selections, a Cyan release for today’s scene. Iodine and I Hear Voices come from Zentz’s debut 1994 EP: Peacekeeper. Blissfully futuristic, we’re taken down a proverbial wormhole thanks to rolling acid pulses and glitchy synth lines. On the B side, I Hear Voices receives a modern re-working before proceedings finish on Strata 2, a track taken from the American’s 1995 release: Starkness.
