Originally released in 1988 as a side project from members of Münster rock band The New Colours. New Harbours was produced by Graziano Mallozzi, member of influential Italian darkwave group Kirlian Camera. The result is an irresistible melancholic synth pop anthem. Due to an extremely limited pressing, the track never received the attention it deserves aside from within Discogs digger circles or in the bags of a few virtuous DJs, including JD Twitch of Optimo who introduced us to the record.The 2025 reissue features a stunning club remix from Berlin’s own Italian darkwave master Curses.

Gala – Freed From Desire was first released in 1996 on NiteLite Records in Italy. 2024 and Ministry of Sound Recordings / B1 Recordings are happy to release two fresh new remixes for the first time on limited edition yellow transparent vinyl. Gala wrote this song when she was drawing on a Buddhist concept that challenges the constant craving for more and encourages us to value our principles and our own freedom instead. She believed that ‘Freed From Desire’ could resonate with people all over the world. Arguably one of the biggest sporting songs of all time, it has become a unifying sensation across the world. The main mix has been re-recorded for a whole new generation but is still very true to that original of ’96, whilst on the flip, Diplo; the American superstar, showcases his trademark, energetic, thumping style. Considered as minimalistic, electronic, dark new wave classics, both 12” EPs by DAYS OF SORROW are highly sought after nowadays, fetching insane prices when seen for sale. For this reason and our love for the band we are immensely proud of making these two EPs available again after more than 30 years, in the form of a COMPILATION ALBUM entitled ‘WHATEVER HAPPENS’ which also INCLUDES TWO UNRELEASED SONGS FROM 1986 (and three more in the included digital download) that were shelved and forgotten back then. All songs have been carefully remastered for this awaited release. We bring it to you as a limited, hand numbered edition of 200 black vinyl copies, housed in a matt finish sleeve with printed inner sleeve full of band pics and including a download code.
DAYS OF SORROW was born in a small town north of Düsseldorf (Germany) in 1981. The post-punk / new wave movement was at its boiling height. Their first 12” EP ‘Remembering the Days’ was published in the late 1984. After a lot of live gigs and a line-up change a full ten track album was recorded in December 1986. But the album never materialized and another 12” EP entitled ‘A Thousand Faces’ was released instead in 1987, featuring just three of the ten recorded songs, while the rest remained unreleased. Shortly after, just ahead of a scheduled Spanish tour, DAYS OF SORROW disbanded.

We are proud to announce a new member to the Echocord family, we have signed the super talented Idealist. From Zurich Switzerland, Idealist is producing already for more than a decade, but only the last five years he took it a step further and signed releases or tracks on labels like Pro-Tez, Lackrec, Berg Audio and focused on building up his own label Idealistmusic with the non written Details Series sublabel. Both of which gained him international attention and sold like hot cakes at the distribution. In September 2016 he released his anticipated debut album „Firewood Street“, which followed his previous work.The last two years the success of his releases lead him to play in various European countries, Canada and Georgia, where he played in clubs like Tresor, Batofar and Culture Box.
