Sales Note
Occult Vision; a new LP based imprint, offers a space for artists to share a more complete body of their work. We create windows into the deeper, alternative and often more authentic sounds of carefully selected artists. It's rare a producer in the underground house and techno scene has this type of platform and Occult Vision aims to fill the void. Our first album is from one of Frankfurt's finest producers, Frank Heinrich. Known to most as Reboot and sharing what will be his first solo LP since 2016, we have here an intricately crafted collection of music that was brought to life during the lockdown phase of the pandemic. This unique time had a resounding impact on Franks creativity in the studio, leading to a sound that strongly represents his emotions throughout that period. The tracks we have helped to curate for this release are often melancholic, yet hopeful with carefully placed textures and rhythms carrying a stripped back yet emotive energy throughout. This isn't your typical club music; it's more personal and meant as a listening experience. "On A Grind" presents the harshness and rawness of that period for so many of us and whilst you will hear Reboots style weaved into these tracks, Frank hopes that you will feel the passion and emotions put into this record accompanying you in your own moments of reflection. A2 Reboot- Are You Loosing My Mind (Ricardo Villalobos Hauswiedermischung)
B Reboot- Are You Loosing My Mind (Ricardo Villalobos Losing My Miles Remix)
Short info:
Reboot takes another slice from his recent album 'Alive' out for a walk. This time it's 'Are You Losing My Mind?'. First we're treated to the vinyl version full of everything we loved from the original. A stripped down tech house beat sprinkled with a might vocal hymn and plenty of groove. Then Ricardo takes over the track with his own very particular style. He's made two distinct versions, 'Hauswiedermischung' is first. As he's known to do, Villalobos created a kind of chaos in which the track lives without ever losing the groove and with plenty of little surprises to discover throughout. Next is Ricardo's twenty four minute 'Losing my Miles' remix, and here is where he really loosens the grip on the track and lets it wander in and out of coherence, taking it and us along for a special ride that only Ricardo can deliver. From beginning to end, you don't know what to expect but you know it when it comes. Get it, press play, and lose your mind.

DEEP VIBES RECORDINGS returns to the fore with none other than notorious Frank Heinrich aka REBOOT, purveyor of masterfully crafted rhythm etudes and a highly respected member of Frankfurt's vibrant house scene. With DEEP_V, the Offenbach-bred producer brings his seething second album to Sascha Dive's imprint, bursting at the seams with intricate percussive bliss and nimble-footed grooves for the enthused dancer. The Reboot project certainly hasn't lost his flair for fine-grained, impressively bendy tracks since the very first full-length offering "Shunyata" on Luciano's legendary Cadenza outlet, presenting a new set of underground cuts deeply ingrained in dance music's rich history of kinetic hypnotism. Honed to perfection, opening jam TORTOISE sets the tone with a pleasantly relaxed jog in the company of seemingly scattered drum fragments, nevertheless revealing a deliberate focus and polymorphic confidence at every turn. Following microbangers HARSH TIME FOR KIDS and CHE MELONI occupy themselves with slowly raising the stakes, growing bolder with each sequence and populating the dance floor with snazzy moves. The build-up leads to neotribal workout BANGING EAR DRUMS captivating the senses with a fine assortment of airy samples and driving drum patterns. Together with CD bonus tracks TANTRIC BEHAVIOURS and HOW PROVINCE SAVED THE FUNK - both every bit as oscillatory as their vinyl relatives -, this makes for a rather complete package from an artist who already excels at the art of living, breathing beats, but keeps on getting better before our very ears.
Vital Sales Points:
- Second Album by Reboot aka Frank Heinrich
- Releases on Cadenza, Below, Defected, La Pena, Oslo

Reboot, - Beautiful Parasite
Beginning his relationship with Cadenza back in 2008, German production wizard Reboot has since frequented the label, his solid tech house soundscapes and innate ability to keep his musical structure moving forward being catalyst to his reputable name. Following the incredible 'Shunyata' album on Cadenza in 2010, Reboot is back on the imprint with the 'Beautiful Parasite' EP, including two remixes from Robert Dietz and Cesar Merveille.
Intense and suitably finickety, Reboot's 'Beautiful Parasite' plays with glitches, sparks and tight wooden percussion patterns to begin. On first glance, it's almost minimal in its confined touches but as a rumbling line of dark bass takes hold, "Beautiful Parasite" switches its identity and takes on a sultry persona. From there the changes come thick and fast with faint strings soaring gently in the background and sporadic cymbal crashes and hand claps creating texture. Reaching its dreamy edge with a warm and melodic mainline, the once stern atmosphere of "Beautiful Parasite" is coated in thick echo, doubled in depth and encased in melody.
First Cadenza comrade to take remix duty is Frankfurt's Robert Dietz. Taking his tribal and percussion heavy signature, Dietz warps "Beautiful Parasite" into a dance killer, enhancing the percussive flow of the original and integrating a rapid bass line that simply can't fail to move. Chopping the melody into stabbing sequences and morphing the bass into an arp'd, electro tinged bomb; "Beautiful Parasite" finds its feet firmly on the dance floor through Robert Dietz's remix. Cesar Merveille shifts the gear up another notch with a gloriously rapid attack for his remix. Chaotic percussion and crunching samples smeared across "Beautiful Parasite's" balmy palette, Cesar injects an exotic and slinky edge.
Lastly, as a digital only bonus, "In The Sky" closes 'Beautiful Parasite' on a fresh note. Introduced with a vocal swoon fit for a diva, "In The Sky" breaks into a contradictory concoction of voltaic beats thereafter. Hissing shakers, plentiful claps and a rubbery bass line collide as the atmosphere moves up and down between subtle builds and breaks. Securing its groove with the epic 'Your Loving Arms' lyrics, "In The Sky" will no doubt cause an elated stomp on dance floors worldwide.

Emptiness isn't a quality you normally associate with electronic dance music. From the crowd on the associate with electronic dance music. From the crowd on the dancefloor to the weight of the bass, it's all about fullness, volume, density.Reboot turns that opposition on its head with his debut album, Shunyata. The title comes from Buddhism and translates loosely as "emptiness." But not just in the negative sense: it speaks also to impermanence, a state of constant flux. It's a great description of Reboot's music, where everything is in constant and kaleidoscopic motion. And it's also a fitting metaphor for the life of the Frankfurt-based musician, aka Frank Heinrich. In just three years, since his first EP's under the Reboot moniker appeared on Cadenza and Below, he's become one of electronic music's hottest properties, releasing not only a slew of singles for labels like Cocoon, Love Letters from Oslo, Ricardo Villalobos' Sei Es Drum and underground cult fave Motivbank, but also a pair of high-profile mix CDs for Cocoon and Cécille. His live sets and DJ sessions have taken him around the world and then some, several times, playing everywhere from mammoth festival stages to the thatched-roof booth at Ibiza's Ushuaïa. (One look at Reboot's booking schedule, and you can forget about any concept of "emptiness.") "Shunyata describes my way of life pretty well," affirms Heinrich, who just last year left his full-time day job to focus on music. Shunyata might be seen as a response to all that flux. Heinrich took his time with the record, working on musical ideas that extend beyond the limits of a given track. From the sound designs to the grooves to the way the tracks evolve, they all interconnect; intricate polyrhythms wind through the music like ivy, binding the album together.

music like ivy, binding the album together. It's those rhythms you're likely to notice first: dazzling arrays of congas, bells, cymbals, shakers, woodblocks; sounds that sound like tuned water-drops or aluminum barrels; steely drum machines slicingthe air like knives. But behind the layers of percussion there are stranger, shadowier elements at work:chimes, pings, electronic gurgles, scraps of faraway voices, field recordings, and beneath it all, a spongy, squishy bed of bass, comforting and all-encompassing. Shunyata is very much an album: its long, undulating lines and morphological structures reward deep, repeated listening. Great!

Reboot, - Rambon
2
Reboot, - Uruana
Six years since its founding, Cadenza passes a significant milestone with catalog number 50.And who better to preside over the ceremonies than Reboot, fresh from his album Shunyata and showing no signs of slowing down. Resident Advisor recently named Reboot "one of the most celebrated live acts in all electronic music," and even if you've never seen him, "Rambon" shows plenty of evidence why. The track (which also appears on Shunyata) served as the triumphant closing passage of his BBC Essential Mix back in December, and now, finally, it's here in its full glory.
What's immediately striking about the track is that it doesn't sound like a studio concoction. It has all the spontaneity and dynamics of a storming live performance. It's crafted with a DJ in mind, with one of Reboot's perfect grooves assembling itself almost magically, with every percussive line snapping into place like magnets on metal. But for all the naturalism of the rhythm, there's a powerful sense of strangeness, a kind of ambient undertow, as sounds from the real world (the clatter of dishes, a pitched-down murmur, distant strains of radio) seep in and color the background. The track picks up steam with a succession of tightly looped vocals and subtle percussive buildups; it feels less like a composition than a DJ mix, really, the kind where the parts combine to create something far greater than their sum. And out of that emerges a melody—
not your typical four-bar riff, but a long, unspooling ribbon, a meandering river, a hypnotic lullabye. It is, in a world, spellbinding. For the B-side, Luciano remixes "Uruana," the album's undulating opening cut. Extending the six-minute sketch to 10 minutes and reinforcing its structure, Luciano's mix feels almost like an edit. Of the original song's burbling synthesizers and fluid, rolling drum patterns, he's actually changed very little. But where Reboot's track is slow to build, as though emerging from a heavy mist, Luciano's mix gets right down to business. It begins with a new melody line, one clearly inspired by the original (but at the same time so very Lucianesco), a cautious itter-pat, and foggy, Basic Channel-caliber chords; when the kick drum hits, it's on. For a little over 10 minutes, Luciano extends the vibe, chasing a feeling you can't quite put you finger on, across rippling percussion and bright arpeggios. Like a sparkling mimosa, it's perfectly suited for morning. More

More

Reboot, - Ronson
It is a well-known fact that tracks by Reboot have been
playing an outstanding role in last year's Cocoon Season.
After all, the 30 year old Frankfurt-based producer Frank
Heinrich already did run riot together with Johnny D., within
a sort-of live jam session on the "Disco Invaders" Cocoon
Ibiza Summer Mix CD. So, it is even more surprising that
the first Reboot 12" on Cocoon is released only now, after
releases on Below and Cadenza. With its tribalistic touch,
"Ronson" is rapidly making clear where the journey will
lead to: with alarm sirens and discharges of compressed
air, Heinrich appears uncompromisingly energetic like
never before, but stays maximally pumping and always
sexy. Somehow more observant, the polyrhythmic and
percussive "Mirasierra" gives the tired dancers a short
break, even if the dub-ornamented bass line sometimes
creates quite discoid moments of luck. By all means, those
two tracks are very suitable for what seem to be the
tropical moments within cold winter nights. More

Cadenza Records introduces another new signing to the label: Reboot, aka Frank Heinrich. After releasing tracks for Combi.int and i220 with his former partner Delle in the duo Delle-Heinrich, the 30-year-old Frankfurt musician takes a dramatic step forward as Reboot, an alias dedicated to grooves both darkly emphatic and dazzlingly polyrhythmic. Launched only a year ago, Heinrich's Reboot project is so far responsible for the well-received "Charlotte" for Frankfurt's Below label as well as a recent remix for Greek duo Lemos & Kreon, on Be-Chosen. Where "Charlotte" was suffused with sweetness and light and tentative time-keeping, Reboot's debut EP for Cadenza Records is considerably darker.

The direct English translation of the title of Rune Bagge’s debut record is “No Gratitude Towards The System” and its rolling midnight militancy is an aural testament to this sentiment. Bagge’s tracks move like a storm at sea, ready to make landfall on the city. Heavy yet rapid – like a steel door blowing off its hinges.

Claire Tabouret received her BFA from the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, in 2006 and studied at Cooper Union, New York, in 2005. Her canvases often depict armored solitary women and children, and originate in Internet or archival found photographs. In 2017 her work was exhibited in dialogue with Yoko Ono at Rome’s Villa Medici as only the second show of women artists in its 200-year history. The artwork for Rune Bagge’s “Ingen Tak Til Systemet” is a drawing from her 2017 series “Les Étreintes”. More

IF Music owner Jean-Claude turns his attention to Dutch record shop Klinkhamer Records for the latest in his “An Introduction To…” series on BBE Music, inviting owner Michel Veenstra to compile a special selection of music to represent the store.
Located in the city of Groningen, Klinkhamer Records began in the year 2000 as an offshoot of the already-established ‘Klinkhamer Antiek en Curiosa’ shop. Having made a success of the record trade, Michel Veenstra and his brother Stephan purchased the business from founder Martin Klinkhamer in 2005. “We kept the name” says Michel “since we both loved it, and it was already well-known in our town.”
Starting out as a record dealer in the late 90s, Veenstra soon found himself a regular at the World-famous Utrecht Record Fair, and has been trading records and antiques full-time ever since. Enjoying privileged access to rare and forgotten jazz music from the Netherlands and beyond, creating his own compilation was an idea Michel had been toying with for several years, but it wasn’t until meeting Jean-Claude that plans became concrete. A list of rare, never-before reissued records was submitted to BBE and the painstaking work of licensing the music began.
Featuring mostly cuts from the late 70s and early to mid 80s, ‘An Introduction To… Klinkhamer Records’ explores some true ‘holy grail’ records, mainly from across Holland, but also roaming as far as Chicago and Italy in search of sublime jazz, blues and even gospel sounds.
“When it comes to records” says Jean-Claude, “this guy knows his onions on a whole other level; his commitment to the cause is unwavering at a time when it is getting increasingly harder to run an indie shop. So, if you find yourself in Holland for whatever reason and are a vinyl freak, do yourself the biggest favour and pay a visit to Klinkhamer Records.”

Jamie Jones - Sunday in Paris
Esteemed artist Jamie Jones is set to drop an EP titled Handy Work on his Hot Creations imprint this September. The release features three standout tracks that emulate Jamie’s distinct production skills and ear for the dancefloor. Title track Handy Work sets the tone with sharp percussion, prominent vocal stabs and a wonky, driving bassline. Next up, Mind Meld With Spock has a stumbling groove, with hypnotic keys and a striking clap. Last up, Sunday In Paris is a blissful number, perfect for the sunrise hours with emotive and elevating chords. A globally respected and highly accomplished artist, label boss at the seminal Hot Creations, founder and curator of the worldwide Paradise event series and member of cross-genre band Hot Natured, Jamie Jones has achieved iconic status in the electronic music world. A trendsetter and seasoned tastemaker, the Welsh dance music superstar pioneered his own distinct sound, drawing on his deep knowledge and experience to cultivate DJ sets that weave through a range of diverse, complementary styles selected to energise and enchant the dance floor.

Release Info:
The year is 1981. The Kiel-based PostPunk / Wave underground outfit NO MORE releases their second ever single „Suicide Commando“ and their world changes forever. Well, not only their world – THE world.
What began as an independently published 7“ single became a cult classic, a genre defining – and defying – song, an all-time dancefloor favorite of many, a timeless signature piece that escaped its original realm of PostPunk x Wave x Indie x Alternative to also become engrained
in the DNA of modern electronic dancefloor culture most prominently in the beloved late 90s permutation presented by DJ Hell which became a classic in its own right.
Now the year is 2021. Four decades have passed and NO MORE's „Suicide Commando“ is back once again - well... the song actually never left! -, this time harking back to the very beginning, the original vibe and the original format.
Remastered and re-released with the original tracklisting and paying homage to the original artwork „Suicide Commando“ will be available in 7“ format for the first time since 1981.
And staying true to the underground blueprint this 40th anniversary re-release edition once again is put out on the circuit through a small independent label: the Intrauterin Recordings offspring El Caballo Semental which also released NO MORE's „123456789 *baze.djunkiii
& Herr Brandt Dream A NuDream Remix“ as a limited to 200 copies one-sided, colored whitelabel 7“ edition in 2019.

Cabaret Du Ciel - The Breath Of Infinity (Sentena Touches Sky Remix)
After an initial link up last summer, Altrimenti Records present four more remixes of cult Italian synth maestros Cabaret Du Ciel. Once again the focus is on experimentation, testing unusual crossovers between artists, eras and styles in pursuit of compelling new sounds.
The results across all four of these versions are distinct from each other, and distinct from wider trends in dance music.
First up, Benedek approaches 'Great Plains' as a low-tempo space-boogie excursion. Following in the wake of his releases on Leaving Records, L.I.E.S. and People's Potential Unlimited, the LA-based artist lays down thick slabs of Moog while retaining the ethereal swirl of the source material.
Rome's L.U.C.A. (aka Francesco De Bellis) has established his new wave-inspired sound on his own Edizioni Mondo label, not to mention working in other projects such as MAT101 and Jollymusic, and he brings a sprightly, motorik energy to 'Climatic Variation'.
Lorenzo Fortino's 'Suspacid Revisitation' version of 'Lakota' is aqueous and psychedelic, but remains elegant and understated in its execution. The emergent producer has already released on Wo-Land and most recently Miniera, and this remix ably embodies the entrancing qualities inherent in his sound.
The remix package concludes with a playful, leftfield electro diversion from elusive Montreal-based producers Sentena. Hailing from an emergent scene orbiting the Doo label and projects like SnP 500 and Fashion, their crooked take on machine music perfectly meets the adventurous aims of Altrimenti in testing out crossovers of styles and creative processes.

LISTENERS GUIDE - WHS03
The infinitive is the basic dictionary form of a verb when used
non-finitely. It is also the form chosen by Daniel[i] and Purl
for the tracks of WHS 03: return to the basics, simplicity,
pure nature distilled into music.
Pulsate starts with an ethereal soundscape, created to then
open to a deeper underwater exploration. There´s a universe
down there and the listener will be guided to appreciate its
beauty: lanternfish giving the tempo of this journey, marine
life to marvel at. We take a step back to observe and fill our
eyes and ears. We come back to the surface, finding peace and
calm.
Opening in a slow, thoughtful and majestic way, Compensate is a
hymn to balance. Since the very beginning, the listener will
notice a contrast between gloomy atmospheres and lighter
sounds, resulting in a chasing sensation that´s uncomfortable,
yet fascinating. Desire to explore, together with acceptance,
surrender to the things we simply can´t understand as humans.
The listener is then invited to explore darker, faster, more
pounding atmospheres. Intimidate anticipate it all in its title
: sounds, tempos, images, they all chase each other to create
an atmosphere that's daunting and fascinating at the same time.
A track to accompany one's journey, be it real or spiritual, a
trip where we let things happen as they come, accepting the
flow of life.
Resonate closes the B side drawing with sounds the depth of our
natural state. Close your eyes and transport yourself in lost
woods, alone in a tent at sunset, when the day is almost over
and ready to make room for the night. The wood is speaking, the
animals are awake, it's frightening but incredibly beautiful.
Crickets are singing their songs, frogs are bouncing from one
pond to another, water connects with air, resonate with earth
and with the smallnes of man in the face of nature._ Format : digital and 12" vinyl.

We come back to the surface, finding peace and
calm.
