Reboot takes another slice from his recent album 'Alive' out for a walk. This time it's 'Are You Losing My Mind?'. First we're treated to the vinyl version full of everything we loved from the original. A stripped down tech house beat sprinkled with a might vocal hymn and plenty of groove. Then Ricardo takes over the track with his own very particular style. He's made two distinct versions, 'Hauswiedermischung' is first. As he's known to do, Villalobos created a kind of chaos in which the track lives without ever losing the groove and with plenty of little surprises to discover throughout. Next is Ricardo's twenty four minute 'Losing my Miles' remix, and here is where he really loosens the grip on the track and lets it wander in and out of coherence, taking it and us along for a special ride that only Ricardo can deliver. Beginning his relationship with Cadenza back in 2008, German production wizard Reboot has since frequented the label, his solid tech house soundscapes and innate ability to keep his musical structure moving forward being catalyst to his reputable name. Following the incredible 'Shunyata' album on Cadenza in 2010, Reboot is back on the imprint with the 'Beautiful Parasite' EP, including two remixes from Robert Dietz and Cesar Merveille.
Intense and suitably finickety, Reboot's 'Beautiful Parasite' plays with glitches, sparks and tight wooden percussion patterns to begin. On first glance, it's almost minimal in its confined touches but as a rumbling line of dark bass takes hold, "Beautiful Parasite" switches its identity and takes on a sultry persona. From there the changes come thick and fast with faint strings soaring gently in the background and sporadic cymbal crashes and hand claps creating texture. Reaching its dreamy edge with a warm and melodic mainline, the once stern atmosphere of "Beautiful Parasite" is coated in thick echo, doubled in depth and encased in melody.
First Cadenza comrade to take remix duty is Frankfurt's Robert Dietz. Taking his tribal and percussion heavy signature, Dietz warps "Beautiful Parasite" into a dance killer, enhancing the percussive flow of the original and integrating a rapid bass line that simply can't fail to move. Chopping the melody into stabbing sequences and morphing the bass into an arp'd, electro tinged bomb; "Beautiful Parasite" finds its feet firmly on the dance floor through Robert Dietz's remix. Cesar Merveille shifts the gear up another notch with a gloriously rapid attack for his remix. Chaotic percussion and crunching samples smeared across "Beautiful Parasite's" balmy palette, Cesar injects an exotic and slinky edge.
Lastly, as a digital only bonus, "In The Sky" closes 'Beautiful Parasite' on a fresh note. Introduced with a vocal swoon fit for a diva, "In The Sky" breaks into a contradictory concoction of voltaic beats thereafter. Hissing shakers, plentiful claps and a rubbery bass line collide as the atmosphere moves up and down between subtle builds and breaks. Securing its groove with the epic 'Your Loving Arms' lyrics, "In The Sky" will no doubt cause an elated stomp on dance floors worldwide.

Six years since its founding, Cadenza passes a significant milestone with catalog number 50.And who better to preside over the ceremonies than Reboot, fresh from his album Shunyata and showing no signs of slowing down. Resident Advisor recently named Reboot "one of the most celebrated live acts in all electronic music," and even if you've never seen him, "Rambon" shows plenty of evidence why. The track (which also appears on Shunyata) served as the triumphant closing passage of his BBC Essential Mix back in December, and now, finally, it's here in its full glory.
What's immediately striking about the track is that it doesn't sound like a studio concoction. It has all the spontaneity and dynamics of a storming live performance. It's crafted with a DJ in mind, with one of Reboot's perfect grooves assembling itself almost magically, with every percussive line snapping into place like magnets on metal. But for all the naturalism of the rhythm, there's a powerful sense of strangeness, a kind of ambient undertow, as sounds from the real world (the clatter of dishes, a pitched-down murmur, distant strains of radio) seep in and color the background. The track picks up steam with a succession of tightly looped vocals and subtle percussive buildups; it feels less like a composition than a DJ mix, really, the kind where the parts combine to create something far greater than their sum. And out of that emerges a melody—
not your typical four-bar riff, but a long, unspooling ribbon, a meandering river, a hypnotic lullabye. It is, in a world, spellbinding. For the B-side, Luciano remixes "Uruana," the album's undulating opening cut. Extending the six-minute sketch to 10 minutes and reinforcing its structure, Luciano's mix feels almost like an edit. Of the original song's burbling synthesizers and fluid, rolling drum patterns, he's actually changed very little. But where Reboot's track is slow to build, as though emerging from a heavy mist, Luciano's mix gets right down to business. It begins with a new melody line, one clearly inspired by the original (but at the same time so very Lucianesco), a cautious itter-pat, and foggy, Basic Channel-caliber chords; when the kick drum hits, it's on. For a little over 10 minutes, Luciano extends the vibe, chasing a feeling you can't quite put you finger on, across rippling percussion and bright arpeggios. Like a sparkling mimosa, it's perfectly suited for morning. More

It is a well-known fact that tracks by Reboot have been
playing an outstanding role in last year's Cocoon Season.
After all, the 30 year old Frankfurt-based producer Frank
Heinrich already did run riot together with Johnny D., within
a sort-of live jam session on the "Disco Invaders" Cocoon
Ibiza Summer Mix CD. So, it is even more surprising that
the first Reboot 12" on Cocoon is released only now, after
releases on Below and Cadenza. With its tribalistic touch,
"Ronson" is rapidly making clear where the journey will
lead to: with alarm sirens and discharges of compressed
air, Heinrich appears uncompromisingly energetic like
never before, but stays maximally pumping and always
sexy. Somehow more observant, the polyrhythmic and
percussive "Mirasierra" gives the tired dancers a short
break, even if the dub-ornamented bass line sometimes
creates quite discoid moments of luck. By all means, those
two tracks are very suitable for what seem to be the
tropical moments within cold winter nights. More

Cadenza Records introduces another new signing to the label: Reboot, aka Frank Heinrich. After releasing tracks for Combi.int and i220 with his former partner Delle in the duo Delle-Heinrich, the 30-year-old Frankfurt musician takes a dramatic step forward as Reboot, an alias dedicated to grooves both darkly emphatic and dazzlingly polyrhythmic. Launched only a year ago, Heinrich's Reboot project is so far responsible for the well-received "Charlotte" for Frankfurt's Below label as well as a recent remix for Greek duo Lemos & Kreon, on Be-Chosen. Where "Charlotte" was suffused with sweetness and light and tentative time-keeping, Reboot's debut EP for Cadenza Records is considerably darker. More

Compared to most other artists of this genre he can for sure be classified as a young gun but there is no soundproof for his age in his music at all. Sascha Dive's music is loaded with a respectful amount of taste and house history you would normally find in the productions and DJ-sets of artists who started in the early 90s. And this is not unwanted: Dive admires and follows the big names of house and deep house and his musical efforts to pay respect to them brought him on par with his legends! So it's no wonder that Sascha Dive productions found their way to top notch labels like Tsuba, Freebase, Deep Labs (Balance US) or Raum...Musik. Not to forget his release for Ornaments and the Moodyman remix for "Deepest America". Having in mind where Dive started with his first album "Restless Nights" and what he achieved until he received remix-honours from Mister Kenny Dixon Jr. one could think Sascha Dive scored all goals he wanted to score. However the journey didn't stop here: Being a Cocoon artist and having played for some of the major Cocoon nights in Ibiza and around the globe Dive incorporated a decent amount of electronic soul and after-hour-madness to his music over the last years. That also applies for remixes one does for other labels: "The Lost Remixes" features two personal favourite Remixes by Sascha Dive, now seeing a release on Vinly for the first time. Side A offers a gentle & laid-back remix for Negghead's "Being" that warms-up every dance-floor just like a sweet summer breeze. Sascha Dive's Remix for the Basil classic "Time To Be Free (Free World)" on Side B is a lot more four to the floor and with its almost epic groove yet proven another Track that you'll hear in clubs at any time of the night. Here are the long awaited remixes of Sascha Dive's "Restless Nights" album. "Jam Sessions #1" is the first out of two 12"s that will be released on Deep Vibes.
On A1 french Deep House Grandeur Frank Roger comes up with a supreme dark but warm remix of "Drums Of The Jungle". A2 features a remix by NYC's Sole Channel Boss Alix Alvarez. His Remix of "The Jam" is sexy as hell and works perfectly on the dance floor.
On B1 Sascha Dive gave his 2010 ueber-hit "Jus Groove" a treatment. The new "Dub Version" is just as catchy as the original and works with full effect.

Next up on Deep Vibes comes Sascha Dive with his killer remixes of Matthew Dear's "Little People (Black City)". Originally released on Spectral Sound (SPC 101) as a digital-only package a vinyl edition had to follow due to public demand.
For maximum sound quality the 20 minute version got shortened to a 15 minute "Vinyl Cut" (A1), while the "Dub Remix" comes in it's original form on the flip-side (B1). Sascha Dive and Matthew Dear met on the road a few years back. In 2008 Matthew Dear featured a remix by the Deep Vibes boss on his Watergate Mix-Compliation. When they played together in Munich in August 2010 Dear asked Dive, if he wanted to do a remix for his upcoming album. The only condition Dear asked him for was that it had to be the wildest and most crazy remix that Dive could possibly do. "Little People (Black City)" is the probably strongest song of Matthew Dear's recently released Album "Black City". Sascha Dive's remixes are on heavy rotation and played by a wide range of DJ's. First EP from Sean Dimitrie & Tim Fuller from Canada. Sean Dimitrie made a great Job for his Remix for Ray Okpara on the Ruled By The Tides EP. He had his first Releases around 1999/2000 on well known US labels like Transport Recordings, Leaf Recordings, Village Sound, Manali Records, Movim Recordings, Odori and Bombay Records.
