DC Salas - The Morning Dance
It's hard to believe DC Salas has yet to appear on Pets. A kindred spirit of Catz 'n Dogz, their paths have crossed many times and their sounds have crossed even more. Sharing a similar vision for deep, explorative, exciting and innovative house and techno, a release like this was only a matter of time. Following big releases on Slowciety and Correspondant, Salas eases us into 2021 with four more wide-ranging cuts. 'Le Réveil' rings the alarm and wakes us up. An electrified maze of melodic layers and arpeggios, there's a great sense of mid 90s German house sounds that would eventually spill into the trance diaspora. Majestic, playful and crystal clean. 'Her Smile' takes us even deeper down the rabbit hole as acidic entrails weave in and out of the beats while more cosmic leads layer over the top. Reaching a great melodic crescendo mid-way, it's yet another great storytelling tune. And it's backed by two more late night delights: 'Another Chapter' takes us deeper and darker into the mix with a soaking wet, jelly-like bassline and big pads and chords that are reminiscent of Justin Martin or Ben Watt before 'The Morning Dance' brings us back home. Broken drums, clipped horn leads, a jacking spirit and an acid breakdown you could cook your breakfast eggs on. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight. A release like this can be played at any time of day.

Fourth R.A.N.D. Muzik x Echocentric Records collaboration release is an album by DC Salas.
DC Salas' second album, To The Places I Call(ed) Home, is a deeply personal exploration of memories, grief, and the concept of home, blending house, progressive, new beat, acid, goa, and trance.
Crafted over two years in his Brussels studio and on the road, the album served as a healing process following personal losses and reconnects Salas with his father's Peruvian roots. It features collaborations with Curses and Moroccan artist Zaatar, and each track reflects moments that shape his life while honoring fragments of his past.
Despite its themes of loss, the album radiates positivity with bright dancefloor moments and new beginnings. More

DC Salas - Phased Dance
DC Salas returns to his own Higher Hopes imprint with the ‘Pixelated Dream Theory’ EP. A club-centric, no nonsense four tracker, the EP is a collage of influences drawn from various strands of dance music knitted together in Salas’ imitable style.
Kicking off proceedings we have the aptly named ‘Acid Breathe’, a brooding number punctuated by spooky synth work and a gnarly (you guessed it) acid line that sets the tone for a release loaded with peak time madness. Next we have the title track ‘Pixelated Dream Theory’, a track that nods back to the rich heritage of the Belgian underground, effortlessly fusing some of the key motifs of New Beat & EBM with a modern perspective.
The B-side opens with a secret weapon of Eclair Fifi's ‘Blaes’. Named after the street Fuse is situated on, it is crafted with the institution’s dancefloor in mind. A bassbin warping, head spinning affair that’s sure to be a critical part of DJs sets throughout spring and beyond into summer. For the EP’s final stanza we have the impressive ‘Phased Dance’. A suitable closer, the track leans slightly more into house than previous offering with flourishes of progressive, balearic all whilst maintaining the chugging fundamentals of the EP, teasing whats to follow with Salas’ planning a new album for the second half of 2024. DC Salas - Slowtospeed
The label has a simple mantra; no frills club cuts designed for the dancefloor. For their second outing, Demi Riquísimo has enlisted Kiosk Radio and Fuse Brussels resident DC Salas to fulfill the brief, via the ‘Tio’ EP.
A DJ noted for his versatility with his sets effortlessly melding a plethora of styles from house, techno and trance to disco & new beat. This broad range of influences is on full display on the buttons as DC Salas shows his range as a producer right across the ‘Tio’ EP.
The EP kicks off with the emotive title track ‘Tio’. DC explains the context:
“It features the voice of my godfather (my dad’s uncle, who was like a brother to him) who passed away unexpectedly some months ago. We found a video of him (he hated being filmed) one week after he passed away, with a wonderful talk he did on his birthday last year. The vocal is an extract of this video.”
Up next is 'Fearless Is More', a track where DC’s production dexterity comes to the fore. The track combines elements of 90’s trance, with a jackin’ bass line and vocal samples that evoke images of the early Amnesia Ibiza golden era.
The B-side opens with 'Never Ending Story', another track which speaks to Salas’ vast array of influences with a synth topline sounding like it was straight out of the Ancienne Belgique. 'A Departure' chugs along menacingly with an acid house flourish in its second stanza, for some peak time perfection. The EP is completed with 'Slowtospeed', which juxtaposes melancholic pads with progressive synths and a driving to bass to make for an extremely well rounded first outing for DC Salas on the burgeoning imprint.

DC Salas - Safe Pace
Brussel's beat smith DC SALAS is back on the block - the Robert Johnson block that is! His 3rd release for LIVE AT ROBERT JOHNSON is also his 20th official release so far - so we have two things to celebrate spread over Diego Cortez Salas' powerful four-tracks EP called »Voces«.
Let's start with the title track: »Voces« is a call to alarm right from the beginning with its stabbing synth bass line and sirens. Add a couple of drum breaks and a heavy beat - et voilà: You have the first of four tunes to jump up and down to. Et oui, Salas surely knows how to build tension in a track - even in a voiceless track named »Voces«.
Next up is »The Lights« - and oh boy does Salas turn them on! These are quite trippy lights with a sound that could easily come from a twisted didgeridoo … The beat of »The Lights« is (of course) groovy as f*** - excuse our French. So let's turn on »The Lights«!
B-side opener »Metallic Glow« does just that: The track glows in bright metallic from the first second and features plenty of crazy sounds to do a crazy dance. Did we mention the groove? No? Well … just listen.
For »Safe Pace« Diego pulls out beautiful percussive elements and the 303 thus surfing on a not-so-safe pace to be honest: The last track of »Voces« is as fast and demanding as all the others.
DC Salas again managed to build four really solid stompers here to set any dancefloor on fire - without using any voice or vocal - these are REALLY SERIOUS SOUNDS you all should listen and dance to. NOW. More

DC Salas - They Don’t See It
Having already impressed via a slew of releases for Correspondant, Live At Robert Johnson and his own Biologic Records, DC Salas tees up an impressive release for Futureboogie. ‘The Weight Of Uncertainty’ EP illustrates the suave sounds that the Brussels born producer has become noted for, and comes backed with a remix from the supremely talented and always on-point I:Cube. In its original mix, ‘The Weight Of Uncertainty’ dips into a smorgasbord of sound, as touches of Belgian New Beat slide on up against balearic disco tropes for a spectacular body & soul workout. The legendary French disco architect and Versatile Records mainstay, I:Cube, floats in on a little fluffy cloud for a terrific ambient dance version, fuelled by the kind of IDM brain scrambling sounds once present in the DNA of producers like Carl Craig, B12, Black Dog and Autechre. On his two other originals, DC Salas gets raw and grungy on ‘Gliding Sound’, its distorted edge adding to the drama composed by the heavy hitting synth lines and the gnarly percussive pattern, whilst ‘They Don’t See It’ introduces some dark acid elements to the chugging rhythm and steely hi-hats anchoring the tracks off-kilter melodies.

DC Salas - Liquid Perception
DC Salas’s second EP indeed is a tale of beautiful feelings: After his last year’s debut EP on Live At Robert Johnson called The Complicated Art of Dreaming, this fresh four tracker is a proof to his creative continuity. A1 Did They Listen rhythmic structure banks on a pounding and effective combination of bassdrum, conga and cowbell, joined by a mildly distorted bass line figure, which embeds itself in a panoramic soundscape. A2 Beautiful Feelings introduces a remarkable striking sawtooth sequence, with repeated filtered and resonating variations, alternating throughout the track. On the flipside, B1 Within employs yet another bubbly bassline, keeping the soundscape wide-open to retain enough sonic space for that eerie, yet highly energetic Cosmic Disco touch. B2 Liquid Perception signature is a liquid acid bassline introduced in the second part of the track, perfectly befitting its track title. All tracks of this monolithic EP, thanks to its consistent approach to sound design, could easily be mixed subsequently with each others. DC Salas is thirtysomething year old Diego Cortez Salas, a skilled talent with peruvian origins hailing from Brussels. A regular DJ at C12 and Kiosk Radio both in Brussels, Diego also co-runs Biologic Records with his mate Abstraxion since 2014.

Presentation (short version)
Having studied the complicated art of dreaming on Live At The Robert Johnson earlier this year, DC Salas returns with another remarkable clutch of cosmic excursions. Linking up with long-standing Parisian chic beat connaisseurs Slowciety, it's time for Salas to show us a little 'Exquisite Chaos'…
Presentation (long version)
The clue is in the title; 'Exquisite Chaos' is smooth, classy, hi-definition piece of intergalactic drama. Sweeping synths, rocket-fuelled kicks and a bassline that could circumnavigate the universe many times over without needing to refuel, it's a classic DC Salas trip, the likes of which we've soaked up on labels such as Correspondant, Nein, BPitch and beyond.
It's backed up by the poignantly titled 'Undivided'. A call for unity, it's rattled with acid and sinewy synth lines all thrusting upwards with the positivity we missed for so long this year. Finally 'Forgotten Memories' if a full-on march into a neon unknown. Complete with flying flurries of breakbeats and rasping acid missives, it wraps up Salas's chaos theory exquisitely…. And it's backed by a remix from Roman Flügel.
Ensuring the EP climaxes with a fitting bang Flügel divides 'Undivided' into three movements, each one more bulldozing than the last. Supercharged with venomous acid and neck-snap breakbeats, it's Flügel at his most chaotic. And Slowciety at their most exquisite. We wouldn't expect anything less from DC Salas.

Shortinfo:
Having established himself as a vital figure in the Brussels music scene, Biologic Records co-founder DC Salas
presents his debut album 'The Unspoken'. The 10-track LP features collaborations with fellow Belgian electropop
duo Joy Wellboy and Mirror Minds.
After a string of dancefloor oriented EPs, he draws inspiration from his live act and diverts away from the club to
explore the more melodic aspects of his sound. More than just a format, the album structure is used here as a
method of storytelling, using the spontaneity of live music making to express varying emotions without restraint.
Lead single 'Cala Falco' is a slow building track that treads carefully between warmth and melancholy, using subtle harmonic progressions to play with the mood of Joy Wellboy's vocals.
Title track takes cosmic melodies and layers them in polyrhythmic forms to hypnotic effect, whilst 'This Love'
uses skeletal percussion to carry retro-futurist melodies.
Many of the tracks produce textures that are only achievable with the use of hardware. From the sombre
harmonies and crisp drums of 'Victor' to the swelling tension of 'Enfant Bruit', DC Salas masterfully navigates his
equipment to create emotive and powerful sonic spectrums.
The entirety of the production process was done with close friends, including mixing by fellow label owner
Harold Boué (aka Abstraxion) and a video collaboration with Victor Pattyn.

he co-founded and manages with the French Producer Abstraxion. They celebrated their 10 year
anniversary at the end of 2015 and continue to release a string of EPs to mark the occasion.
'When You Left' is an EP that overcomes sadness. Times can be rough, but it never lasts forever. This
original material is complemented by two powerful remixes: One from the mysterious Cliff Lothar, who
is supported by people as diverse as John Talabot, Delta Funktionen and Radiohead's Thom Yorke. The
second remix is done by the Australian producer Inkswel (BBE).
This EP is an important step for the producer as he prepares his debut album 'The Unspoken' which will be announced by Biologic Records in the coming months.
Early Supporter: Ivan Smagghe, Chloé, Jennifer Cardini, Mugwump, Manfredas, Golden Bug

3
Mathias Kaden - Mathias Kaden - Distant Horizon
tracklist:
A1 Mathias Kaden - Square
A2 Mathias Kaden - Distant Horizon (Catz 'n Dogz Remix)
B1 Mathias Kaden - Distant Horizon
An old friend returns to Pets. Three years after his ‘Polyphonic’ EP, Catz ‘n Dogz bring the legend that is Mathias
Kaden back on the label and the results speak for themselves…
Following his recent barnstormers on Avotre and Rekids, both ‘Square’ and ‘Distant Horizon’ deliver in that
unhurried, cosmic journey-like way Kaden has made his signature over the years: gentle layering, subtle moment,
palpable atmospheres but the drive and underbelly of a bulldozer.
‘Square’ kicks off the show with an eight-minute adventure into deep, warm undulating acid. Heavy subs, fluid
drums and a persistent spoken vocal texture, this one wraps you up like a cloak. ‘Distant Horizon’, meanwhile,
whips that cloak off so quickly it will send you spinning deeper and deeper into the celestial rabbit hole. A
10-minute Mathias epic, it warms up with a progressive rolling feel for a good few minutes before we’re suddenly
derailed into a trippy, hazy brew of weird bass bubbles and some rather outlandish spoken word. Poetry in high
grade technoid motion.
And the motion doesn’t stop there… Ever ones to get involved, Catz ‘n Dogz get their paws on ‘Distant Horizon’
and give it their own gritty, grainy, trippy twist. Two parts tribal, one part bass, all parts peak time, this doesn’t just
stare out at the horizon but flies you right over it.
Two beautiful originals, one killer remix. Be there or be ‘Square’… More

Truncate - Pressure (DJ Haus Remix)
Tracklist:
A1. Truncate - Pressure
B1. Truncate - Level Up
B2. Truncate - Pressure (DJ Haus Remix)
Release Info:
The mighty Truncate crash lands on Catz n’ Dogz’ Pets imprint with two outstanding slabs of forthright
techno tension. His first full single for the label, Truncate was last spotted aboard remixing KiNK way
back in 2015. Now he’s making up for lost time, thumping away relentlessly like two old mates who
haven’t caught up with each other in years.
‘Pressure’ takes the lead. Bouncy, stripped-back, pounding and riddled with Ovum-level acidic funk,
once you’re locked into Truncate’s loopy hypnosis, you may never escape. ‘Level Up’ does exactly
what its title suggests, too. Total rolling thunder with builds upon builds, there’s a sense of momentum
that elevates at every twist.
And if that’s not enough, Unknown 2 The Unknown bossman and fusionist king DJ Haus gets involved
with some prime remix real estate. Buckle up friends, the pressure is only just beginning to rise… More

Black Loops - Born in the 80's
tracklist:
A1. Black Loops - Gwei Lo
A2. Black Loops - Unity
B1. Black Loops - Keep a Secret
B2. Black Loops - Born in the 80's
Release Info:
And the Black Loops phenomenon continues… Fresh from a whole slew of killer releases this year on
the likes of Happiness Therapy, Neovinyl, Madhouse and Smile & Stay High, the Berlin-based Italian
return to Pets with this almighty four-piece that runs their entire groove gamut.
The long-awaited follow-up to their evergreen ‘For The Lovers’ EP in 2017, once again they not only
tick every box but tickle every inch of your music-addicted soul. Easing us in gently with a little cosmic
UKG, ‘Gwei Lo’ is a two-step teaser with all the magic we’ve come to know and love Black Loops for.
Deeper again we rifle through the styles like 12”s in a dusty crate… ‘Unity’ keeps the garage theme
but with much more of New York or New Jersey style vibe, especially in those epically thudding kicks.
‘Keep A Secret’ is just beautiful deepness with shades of Europe and the West Coast. Somewhere
between Ian Pooley and Hipp-E & Halo in a state of perpetual sunset.
Last but not least, we hit ‘Born In The 80s’. Don’t be fooled by the title, this ain’t no nostalgic
throwback; it’s another timeless slab of deep house heaven where the era is referenced beautifully in
the gentle, dreamy but insistent melody that folds and pleats so majestically over the top, it’s one of
those tunes that really does make you forget where you are and what era you’re in. The type of tunes
both Black Loops and Pets excel in… More

3
Tripmastaz & Guti - R U Happy (Instrumental Version)
Tracklist:
A1. R U Happy
B1. R U Happy (D'Julz Remix)
B2. R U Happy (Instrumental Version)
Release Info:
‘R U Happy’… A simple question. But is there a simple answer? Allow Guti and Tripmastaz to look you
dead in the eye and find out once and for all.
Their first ever collaboration – conjured in a rare real life, real time, real vibe collabo scenario in
Tripmastaz Moscow studio – this fact alone should be a reason for happiness. The music seals the
deal furthermore; a bubbling analogue bass, relentless jacking beats, filters set to their juiciest
coordinates and that insistent loopy vocal sample, there are some serious strong tones of Chicago in
the blend. The sharpness of early Trax, the fatness of early Classic and that rolling vibe that captures
the essence of house like no other city.
If your happiness status relies on more of a French lift then allow D’Julz to take your hand with his
remix. Still just as jacking, but with a little more beef in the bass, more dynamic strip-backs and several
new layers of funk-riddled filters, if you’re not happy by the time this kicks in, you need to consider
some of your lifestyle choices.
With the Pets guys and Guti both fresh from big album excursions and Tripmastaz enjoying a rich vein
of form on the likes of Tatouffe, Bass Culture and No 19 already this year, all parties are kicking with
vitality on this one. Are you happy? We certainly are… More

Tracklist:
A1. Rattlesnake (Original Mix)
B1. Rattlesnake (Magda’s Blotter Traxion Remix)
B2. Rattlesnake (Vyvyan Remix)
Release Info:
Previously spotted remixing the bossmen Catz ‘n Dogz’ 2016 single ‘Nobody Cares’ on the label, Psychemagik’s ‘Rattlesnake’ is the duo’s debut Pets single and it lives up to its deadly name. Sliding into the dance with all the stealth and funk venom its name suggests; the bite comes midway as the fatal secondary bassline kicks in with a Cobra Kai finishing move that will leave your dancefloor out for the count.
It’s loaded with two equally lethal remixes as the label welcome two more debuts from pit vipers old and new; Magda bites hard with a poisonous futuristic funk roll-out while Vyvyan continue their anonymous attack with a fantastic cosmic twist and a build up that rattles like a whole army of Crotalus.
Terminal treatments slithering in all directions. Whichever viperous version you choose to wrestle with, the results remain the same; once bitten your dancefloor will indeed lose all control of their bodies… If slept on, seek medical help. More

Info:
At the forefront of the dance music landscape, DJ/Production duo and label heads, Catz ‘n Dogz are well and truly in the driver’s seat of their musical journey. Starting out as close friends, the pair have risen to critical acclaim, leaving a lasting impression on the electronic music community with their honest productions and label releases; spreading the love far and wide. With friendship as one of the main precursors to their success, they present a warming and emotional album channeling the intricacies of ‘Friendship’ and relationships. Escaping to a wooden cabin in the Spanish countryside village, Cercedilla , which also shares the name of the opening album track, Greg and Voitek came together to create an album that re-wrote the Catz ‘n Dogz history book. Known for their diverse style and ability to craft varying pace and rhythm, the duo sought out consistency
with their ‘Friendship’ LP to make an album in the truest sense; a long player to be listened to as one body of work.
The 4x4 beat underpinning all music across the project, ‘Friendship’ encourages listeners to be at one with themselves and enjoy their life; to go with the flow of highs and lows that come with it. As a testament to the bond that has allowed Catz ‘n Dogz to build and establish themselves, they invite a band of close friends and like-minded peers to collaborate on the album. Vocalist and guitarist James Yuill on the Spanish inspired ‘There ’, fellow polish native Rosalie. on ‘Mind’ and deep vocals of ZENSOFLY and Maxville on
the funky ‘ Wave’ . Travelling into new territories of cross-genre and lingual collaboration, leading Polish rapper, Taco Hemingway lays down lyrics in English on Yi Fang. Along with longtime friend Kiddy Smile and fellow creative mind Rouge Mary , teaming up on 90’s house inspired love song ‘One Plus You’ . Appearances also come from WhoMadeWho on the cool and breezy ‘Never Go Down’ , before later delving deeper into the ethereal voice of Jono McCleery in ‘Would You Believe’ and the eerie folk-esque vocals Egle Sirvydyte on
second-last track ‘Water’ .
Sharing the same name as their countryside escape, introductory interlude ‘Cercedilla’ , eases the listener in with warm notes and raw samples of running water taken from the cottage that became their home. ‘New Love’ celebrates new possibilities and challenges that come throughout life; narrated with rumbling break-beat and euphoric synth lines. Big kicks and funky melodies in ‘This Feels Real’ , build anticipation for what is set to follow in the acidic elements of ‘Questions’ ; denoting the rollercoaster of emotion one can experience throughout the relationships we make.
Hugging the listener with emotional piano chords, ‘Moments Turn To Hours’ encourages the idea of being at peace with oneself, acknowledging the long and hard times and allowing them to pass on by. Looking back to the Berlin days of Catz ‘n Dogz, ‘Last Song For Berlin’ summarises the decade they spent there. Celebrating the people and friendships they made and channeling the soulful side to a city so lauded for its darkness in the Techno scene. Picking up with ‘Hedonic Treadmill’ drum and bass elements, layered with emotive keys and uplifting soulful samples, see out the album with a sense of euphoria and hope for the future.
Left and right, yin and yang, Catz ‘n Dogz. Greg and Voitek are proof that opposites do attract. Now living in different cities and leading alternative lives, their friendship blooms stronger than ever, culminating in their truest and most heartfelt body of work to date – ‘Friendship’. More

As a testament to the bond that has allowed Catz ‘n Dogz to build and establish themselves, they invite a band of close friends and like-minded peers to collaborate on the album. Vocalist and guitarist James Yuill on the Spanish inspired ‘There’, fellow polish native Rosalie. on ‘Mind’ and deep vocals of ZENSOFLY and Maxville on the funky ‘Wave’. Travelling into new territories of cross-genre and lingual collaboration, leading Polish rapper, Taco Hemingway lays down lyrics in English on Yi Fang. Along with longtime friend Kiddy Smile and fellow creative mind Rouge Mary, teaming up on 90’s house inspired love song ‘One Plus You’. Appearances also come from WhoMadeWho on the cool and breezy ‘Never Go Down’, before later delving deeper into the ethereal voice of Jono McCleery in ‘Would You Believe’ and the eerie folk-esque vocals Egle Sirvydyte on second-last track ‘Water’.
Sharing the same name as their countryside escape, introductory interlude ‘Cercedilla’, eases the listener in with warm notes and raw samples of running water taken from the cottage that became their home. ‘New Love’ celebrates new possibilities and challenges that come throughout life; narrated with rumbling break-beat and euphoric synth lines. Big kicks and funky melodies in ‘This Feels Real’, build anticipation for what is set to follow in the acidic elements of ‘Questions’; denoting the rollercoaster of emotion one can experience throughout the relationships we make. Hugging the listener with emotional piano chords, ‘Moments Turn To Hours’ encourages the idea of being at
peace with oneself, acknowledging the long and hard times and allowing them to pass on by. Looking back to the Berlin days of Catz ‘n Dogz, ‘Last Song For Berlin’ summarises the decade they spent there. Celebrating the people and friendships they made and channeling the soulful side to a city so lauded for its darkness in the
Techno scene.
Release Info:
At the forefront of the dance music landscape, DJ/Production duo and label heads, Catz ‘n Dogz are well and truly in the driver’s seat of their musical journey. Starting out as close friends, the pair have risen to critical acclaim, leaving a lasting impression on the electronic music community with their honest productions and label releases;
spreading the love far and wide. With friendship as one of the main precursors to their success, they present a warming and emotional album channeling the intricacies of ‘Friendship’ and relationships. Escaping to a wooden cabin in the Spanish countryside village, Cercedilla, which also shares the name of the opening album track, Greg and Voitek came together to create an album that re-wrote the Catz ‘n Dogz history book. Known for their diverse style and ability to craft varying pace and rhythm, the duo sought out consistency with their ‘Friendship’ LP to make an album in the truest sense; a long player to be listened to as one body of work. Tracklist:
A1. Bawrut - Pioneers A2. Bawrut - Desert Island B1. Bawrut - Piano&Piano B2. Bawrut - Your job is my job
Release Info:
JOMO… The JOY of missing out.
The premise is simple: F**k what everyone else is doing, just enjoy your own moment and make sure you’re present and not wasting time watching other people pretend their lives are amazing. Your life is the only life that counts. And right now Bawrut has come crashing into it. The man behind no less than 15 exceptional remixes throughout 2018, he’s back in full original EP mode and he’s making his debut on Pets.
Let’s not waste any time….
‘Pioneers’ kicks things off. Bawrut’s personal homage to the foundation setters; laced with a syrupy spoken word, this is all about the physical and emotional reactions from a raw house groove. It’s followed by ‘Desert Island’, a dynamic acid attack that’s riddled with rich levels of 303 funk and a healthy dose of Trevor Jackson.
Elsewhere ‘Piano&Piano’ brings us back to dry land with crunchy loops that somehow manage to ooze funk, soul and staccato synth stabbed drama in equal measure… A fusion that’s accelerated insanely when the breaks kick in. Then finally we have ‘Your Job Is My Job’. Another heady maze of trippy textures and psychedelic nods, this one kicks into such a belting bassline groove midway that it will drive your crowds to such high levels of JOMO they may never want to log into Instagram again.
Powerful sounds from a dangerously talented new gen talent. This is next level stuff from Bawrut and Pets. More

Refix-up look sharp: Pets boot down the doors of 2018 with this generous five track version excursion. Five of the label boss’s most distinctive and decorated tracks from recent years get the treatment from five fittingly big names; this is how it’s going to go down…
The one and only Roman Flügel takes the lead with a wonked-out trip down ‘Basic Colour Theory’ lane. With a sly switch on the kicks and full emphasis on the alien encounter feels, his trippy take on ‘Don’t’ sets the perfect creative benchmark for what’s to follow.
Dig deeper for a bumping, stripped back warm and jacking twist of ‘It’s Happening’ by the currently unavoidable Rutilance founder DJ Steaw while Counter Records’ Pional breaks down their recent jolt of euphoria ‘Rave History’ and rebuilds it into a slinkier, house affair, repurposing every spine-tingle and skin-ripple Greg and Voitek coded into the original.
Deeper again we’re treated to an exceptional twist of their Green Velvet collaboration ‘Keep On’ as LAWLER injects a springy, molten momentum to the elements with a salubriously loopy machine funk feel. Finally, for good measure, Jonathan Kasper wraps up their 2016 spiritual trip ‘Elixir’ with a new sense of conga-riddled, bass-licked momentum. Still reaching the highs when you least expect it to, the pay-off keeps giving and giving. A little like this whole EP. These are what remixes were invented for… More
