Mathias Kaden - Mathias Kaden - Distant Horizon
tracklist:
A1 Mathias Kaden - Square
A2 Mathias Kaden - Distant Horizon (Catz 'n Dogz Remix)
B1 Mathias Kaden - Distant Horizon
An old friend returns to Pets. Three years after his ‘Polyphonic’ EP, Catz ‘n Dogz bring the legend that is Mathias
Kaden back on the label and the results speak for themselves…
Following his recent barnstormers on Avotre and Rekids, both ‘Square’ and ‘Distant Horizon’ deliver in that
unhurried, cosmic journey-like way Kaden has made his signature over the years: gentle layering, subtle moment,
palpable atmospheres but the drive and underbelly of a bulldozer.
‘Square’ kicks off the show with an eight-minute adventure into deep, warm undulating acid. Heavy subs, fluid
drums and a persistent spoken vocal texture, this one wraps you up like a cloak. ‘Distant Horizon’, meanwhile,
whips that cloak off so quickly it will send you spinning deeper and deeper into the celestial rabbit hole. A
10-minute Mathias epic, it warms up with a progressive rolling feel for a good few minutes before we’re suddenly
derailed into a trippy, hazy brew of weird bass bubbles and some rather outlandish spoken word. Poetry in high
grade technoid motion.
And the motion doesn’t stop there… Ever ones to get involved, Catz ‘n Dogz get their paws on ‘Distant Horizon’
and give it their own gritty, grainy, trippy twist. Two parts tribal, one part bass, all parts peak time, this doesn’t just
stare out at the horizon but flies you right over it.
Two beautiful originals, one killer remix. Be there or be ‘Square’… More

Mathias Kaden - Twisting Shadows
Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with the 'Circulate' EP, featuring a William Kiss Remix.
Mathias Kaden is back on Rekids after 2022’s ‘Blackbird’ EP, this time with the four-track ‘Circulate’ EP featuring a remix from the hotly tipped William Kiss. Kaden’s ‘Freedom’ kicks things off with stripped-back machine rhythm, tasteful stab melodies and a deeply satisfying low-end groove before an iconic gospel vocal joins in. Title track ‘Circulate’ is another infectious low-slung crawler with crunchy synth hits and a hypnotic and classy vibe that will get the dancefloor moving.
On the flip, William Kiss remixes Mathias Kaden’s ‘Freedom’ following his recent EP on Rekids' sibling label RSPX and the release of his collaborative project, Not Without Friends, with Luke Alessi and Jordan Brando on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue. Kiss turns the track into a pumping peak-time cut with additional percussion and plenty of his signature Jackin’
flavour. Closing out the record, Kaden’s ‘Twisting Shadows’ introduces an acidic bassline and warped, dubbed-out vocals before dropping into an energetic trip.
Active since the mid-90s, Mathias Kaden appeared on Radio Slave’s Rekids for the first time in 2019 for ‘Liberate Drums’. He now returns to the label with the ‘Circulate’ EP, adding to his versatile discography on labels like Dyinamic and Vakant while also remixing work by Matthias Tanzmann, Onur Özer, Anja Schneider, and Trentemöller. 3
Mathias Kaden - Control Your Mind (Marcel Dettmann Remix)
4
Mathias Kaden - Substance
Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with four-track EP ‘Control Your Mind’, featuring a remix from Marcel Dettmann. Previously appearing on Rekids in 2019 with his ‘Liberate Drums’ EP, Mathias Kaden makes his second appearance on Radio Slave aka Matt Edwards’ label with four original tracks of razor-sharp material, as well as a remix from Berghain resident Dettmann. ‘Control Your Mind’ opens with the impeccably produced title track, an electro flecked roller. Featuring hypnotic synth work and subtle automated inflections, the cut effortlessly glides, peppered with the occasional titular vocal refrain from Sven Va¨th puncturing the groove. Shifting into 4/4 territory is ‘Conviction’, a restrained but stunningly effective track that makes full use of memorable off-beat synth stabs and shimmering 909 percussion to constantly drive the track forward. On the flip, Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann turns up the heat with his remix of ‘Control Your Mind’. Filtering the vocals, the MDR and BAD MANNERS boss also delivers a resonant bassline that works in tandem with knocking percussion, as creeping pads morph and evolve over the duration of the track, creating a trippy and propulsive banger. Classic dub techno aesthetics are front and centre in ‘Substance’, a track destined for the golden hours between late at night and early in the morning, while finishing the package in fine style. TRACK LISTING: A1. Control Your Mind, A2. Conviction, B1. Control Your Mind (Marcel Dettmann Remix), B2. Substance

1 Nova Acid Mix
2 Nova Marco Faraone Remix Mathias Kaden
3 Nova Atmospheric Version
4 Nova Tension Tool
This debut from longstanding East German maestro Mathias Kaden is no exception
A bucket-list EP for the Gera-based artist whose followed and collected from Winks label since inception, Nova is both a personal showcase and a homage to a label thats inspired his tension-heavy signature. Adding to a discography that boasts some of most respected techno labels possible (Vakant, Mule Musiq, Watergate, Desolat, Freude Am Tanzen), the Nova EP flexs Kadens darkest and deepest tendencies and includes certain signatures that many of the best Ovum releases share: acid, a direct and effective single word sample, versions and a DJ tool that will blow your dancefloors heads off.
The acid mix of Nova sets the scene. Acid through Kadens perception; its warm, its subtle, it strips right back to a naked groove before thundering back into a head-shoeing finale with devastating effect. Its complemented by Mathiass alternative version; an atmospheric mix where the acid is switched out for rippling, dubby synths and a relentless drive that has just a touch of a French kiss to it. Loaded with a sweet shuffle in the percussion, you could lose your head in this for hours. Throw in the acapella/FX DJ tool and Marco Faraones turbine acid beast and you genuinely can lose yourself indefinitely in this release. Laced with a classic spoken word theme throughout, Mathias sums up Ovum perfectly
Its how I always see Ovum: The past is the future. The future is the past. Ovum is one of the most Timeless Labels I know!
You could say the same about Mathias. Get to know.

Tracklist Single:
A1 Mathias Kaden - Polyphonic B1. Mathias Kaden - NoKick
Info:
Pets are proud to welcome long-time friend Mathias Kaden whose making his label
debut with two of the trippiest, sense-shaking, freakiest jams we think he’s ever
conjured.
As teased in his recent Boiler Room show (and most sets he’s played lately), both
‘Polyphonic’ and ‘NoKick’ offer a fresh-yet-heritage-rooted take on techno and have
been tailored to cut through on the biggest of festival and carnival rigs. Perfect timing,
then. Let’s tuck in:
‘Polyphonic’ sits somewhere between Paperclip People and Basement Jaxx. Its
sterling acid house hook lays down the foundations while a dizzying array of FX and
sonic chemtrails swoop, bend and flare above the groove like fireworks. A proper
sonic rocket display of a track that defies conventional arrangement, make no
mistakes: this blows minds.
‘NoKick’ continues this theme with even more derring-do. As the name suggests,
there’s no kick drum at play here, just a swinging break with a classic 2 Bad Mice
style old school bassline and even more laser-blazing FX trickery that rifles the
spectrum with head-turning, twisted dexterity. Complete with crowd cheers and
carnivalian whoops and hollers, this is the ultimate DJ tool that winds the crowds up
like nobody’s business.
Better late than never: After years of releasing on some of the biggest and most
respected labels in techno, Mathias’s appearance on Pets has been long overdue.
But rest assured; these tracks really are a seriously special occasion. Only a fool
would sleep on these… More

Tracklist: A Mathias Kaden - Fin B Mathias Kaden - Fin (Josh Wink Re-think)
Simultaneously with the announcement of our 15th Watergate-Compilation, we are also proud to present the number 15 of our vinyl series. The man behind the black wax is Mathias Kaden, whose exclusive track now finds its new home in our label catalogue - with "Fin" he literally marked the end of his compilation which was released in this year's summer. The track warms up with an aesthetically-stumbling beat pattern, gathers speed attended by rattling hi-hats and suddenly turns into a smooth piano-break. After this grace period the allround-tool unfolds its full force and tramps down on the dancefloor. No less a figure than Josh Wink contributed a remix to this bomb. The Ovum-Records boss interpreted "Fin" in his habitual freethinker-attitude as a hypnotic-house track in a totally new context. Dopey bleeps wriggle through the drums and leave woozy traces in the audiences' heads. "Fin" appears on January 20 on vinyl & digital.

It is with great pleasure that Desolat welcome the hugely-respected German producer and DJ Mathias Kaden to the Desolat family with his four track 'Tentakle EP' for the Desolat X series. 'Pitched' opens proceedings and is solely aimed at the dancefloor with its driving percussion, deep bass and pitched vocal snippets. Next up is 'Troija' which progresses with at a slower BPM, has a funkier and more exotic groove and is characterised by bouncing bass and tribal drums. 'Demence' takes the listener on a hypnotic journey with it's squelching acid-bassline and incessant echoing vocal. 'Propeller', which rounds off the EP, is another percussive groover designed to move a peak time club. The tracks builds throughout, with crisp hi-hats which drive the track's infectious rhythm. On top of the four tracks on offer, the 'Tentakle' EP also generously comes with two deadly FX Tools for all DJs to build into their set. Overall then Mathias Kaden's experience as a producer shines through on the 'Tentakle EP' as he delivers four killer tracks which are as expertly programmed as one would expect from the veteran producer, and designed to get the dance-floor moving.

The third and final remix package for Mathias Kaden’s masterpiece album ‘Studio 10’ comes along with two reworks of Mathias’ Vakant label mates Onur Özer and DeWalta. Onur Özer’s ‘Hâre Remix’, a massive, bass driven rework for Kaden`s ‘Chazz’, takes the track to a deeper, more jazzy level, until it fades out with a dreamy yet abstract melody after 11 minutes and counting. David Koch aka DeWalta takes on ‘Ikenga’ (an African god of time, success and achievement), which is surely Kaden’s most played track of the album. David maintains the acidic vibe of the original, adds his very own funk and sends the track back to the dance floor. To top of this journey through the Vakant universe, you can find a digital exclusive remix on Beatport, Whatpeopleplay and co.: DeWalta’s Stompy Remix.

LISTED FOR REPRESS!
Late in 2009 Mathias Kaden’s debut album ‘Studio 10’ was released and a flood of attention ensued. The readers from Groove, Germany's most important music magazine, voted ‘Studio 10’ the top album of the year. Correspondingly it also received a flood of positive feedback from the scene's most important DJs. Overall no small feat in todays crowded market. Fast forward to 2010 and Vakant is following up with a series of remixes for this very important album. Up first is a rework from Hamburg’s Dj Koze; a man with no need for Introduction. Koze lays into the album’s dub track ‘Kawaba’, featuring the voice of Japan’s singer Tomomi Ukumori. Deeply pitched vocals and Koze’s very own groove give this remix a very special appeal. On the flip, Spanish Dj and producer AFFKT, resident of Valencia’s famous Barraca club, delivers a peak time tech-house remix of ‘Macleta’ which is already causing some storms amongst selected dj sets. More ‘Studio 10’ remixes will be released across the next months, watch out! More

Mathias Kaden, - 1981
The Thunder from Thuringia, Genosse from Gera, Mr. Minimal Samba, the man that goes by many names is here to present to us his very first LP on none other than his solo action Vakant home.
About 2 years in the making, Studio 10 takes Mathias Kaden's life-long work as DJ and producer, world wide tours, twenty something years of listening and thinking, machines and people, wraps a bow
around it all, and delivers it with roses dipped in chocolate. Always taking his time with production, Mathias' focus on quality over quality continues to pay dividends no matter the state of the economy.
Unique in many ways, Studio 10 was also unique for the producer himself. Never before has Mathias incorporated into his music so much hardware, field recordings, messages, and invited friends and
orchestral musicians to collaborate. Each track has a message waiting to be interpreted, from the first track "Intro Ducing" borrowing from Bob Marley to the last named "1981" featuring Gjaezon, significant
in that it was the year of birth for the most important and timeless instrument in Mathias' studio, the TR808. Similar to his Vakant brethren, Mathias is rather the instrumentalist and performer than the programmer and sampler. A Fender Rhodes from jazz pal Lars Mäurer on "Defender", Mathias's 1970's Lowrey organ played by Florian Schirmacher on "Lowrey", violin by Claudia Ander-Donathand
on "Re Menor", and flugelhorn by Martin Rudloff on "Panic Stricken" all pull and push the music in ever expanding directions, but at the center the 808 melds it all together. In addition vocalists (and lyricists)
Ian Simmonds, Gjaezon, and Tomomi Ukumori impart their talents to help articulate the messages that pervade Studio 10. To call the album house is akin to referring to a 1982 Château Lafite-Rothschild as wine. Closer to Chicago than to anywhere else in sound and in Mathias' heart, Studio 10 finds its home in more
intimate settings where its nuance, ideas, and depth can all come shining through.

Each track has a message waiting to be interpreted, from the first track "Intro Ducing" borrowing from Bob Marley to the last named "1981" featuring Gjaezon, significant in that it was the year of birth for the most important and timeless instrument in Mathias' studio, the TR808. Similar to his Vakant brethren, Mathias is rather the instrumentalist and performer than the programmer and sampler. A Fender Rhodes from jazz pal Lars Mäurer on "Defender", Mathias's 1970's Lowrey organ played by Florian Schirmacher on "Lowrey", violin by Claudia Ander-Donathand on "Re Menor", and flugelhorn by Martin Rudloff on "Panic Stricken" all pull and push the music in ever expanding directions, but at the center the 808 melds it all together. In addition vocalists (and lyricists) Ian Simmonds, Gjaezon, and Tomomi Ukumori impart their talents to help articulate the messages that pervade Studio 10. To call the album house is akin to referring to a 1982 Château Lafite-Rothschild as wine. Closer to Chicago than to anywhere else in sound and in Mathias' heart, Studio 10 finds its home in more intimate settings where its nuance, ideas, and depth can all come shining through. More
The Thunder from Thuringia, Genosse from Gera, Mr. Minimal Samba, the man that goes by many names is here to present to us his very first LP on none other than his solo action Vakant home. About 2 years in the making, Studio 10 takes Mathias Kaden's life-long work as DJ and producer, world wide tours, twenty something years of listening and thinking, machines and people, wraps a bow around it all, and delivers it with roses dipped in chocolate. Always taking his time with production, Mathias' focus on quality over quality continues to pay dividends no matter the state of the economy. Unique in many ways, Studio 10 was also unique for the producer himself. Never before has Mathias incorporated into his music so much hardware, field recordings, messages, and invited friends and orchestral musicians to collaborate. DC Salas - The Morning Dance
It's hard to believe DC Salas has yet to appear on Pets. A kindred spirit of Catz 'n Dogz, their paths have crossed many times and their sounds have crossed even more. Sharing a similar vision for deep, explorative, exciting and innovative house and techno, a release like this was only a matter of time. Following big releases on Slowciety and Correspondant, Salas eases us into 2021 with four more wide-ranging cuts. 'Le Réveil' rings the alarm and wakes us up. An electrified maze of melodic layers and arpeggios, there's a great sense of mid 90s German house sounds that would eventually spill into the trance diaspora. Majestic, playful and crystal clean. 'Her Smile' takes us even deeper down the rabbit hole as acidic entrails weave in and out of the beats while more cosmic leads layer over the top. Reaching a great melodic crescendo mid-way, it's yet another great storytelling tune. And it's backed by two more late night delights: 'Another Chapter' takes us deeper and darker into the mix with a soaking wet, jelly-like bassline and big pads and chords that are reminiscent of Justin Martin or Ben Watt before 'The Morning Dance' brings us back home. Broken drums, clipped horn leads, a jacking spirit and an acid breakdown you could cook your breakfast eggs on. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight. A release like this can be played at any time of day.

Truncate - Pressure (DJ Haus Remix)
Tracklist:
A1. Truncate - Pressure
B1. Truncate - Level Up
B2. Truncate - Pressure (DJ Haus Remix)
Release Info:
The mighty Truncate crash lands on Catz n’ Dogz’ Pets imprint with two outstanding slabs of forthright
techno tension. His first full single for the label, Truncate was last spotted aboard remixing KiNK way
back in 2015. Now he’s making up for lost time, thumping away relentlessly like two old mates who
haven’t caught up with each other in years.
‘Pressure’ takes the lead. Bouncy, stripped-back, pounding and riddled with Ovum-level acidic funk,
once you’re locked into Truncate’s loopy hypnosis, you may never escape. ‘Level Up’ does exactly
what its title suggests, too. Total rolling thunder with builds upon builds, there’s a sense of momentum
that elevates at every twist.
And if that’s not enough, Unknown 2 The Unknown bossman and fusionist king DJ Haus gets involved
with some prime remix real estate. Buckle up friends, the pressure is only just beginning to rise… More

Release Info:
And the Black Loops phenomenon continues… Fresh from a whole slew of killer releases this year on
the likes of Happiness Therapy, Neovinyl, Madhouse and Smile & Stay High, the Berlin-based Italian
return to Pets with this almighty four-piece that runs their entire groove gamut.
The long-awaited follow-up to their evergreen ‘For The Lovers’ EP in 2017, once again they not only
tick every box but tickle every inch of your music-addicted soul. Easing us in gently with a little cosmic
UKG, ‘Gwei Lo’ is a two-step teaser with all the magic we’ve come to know and love Black Loops for.
Deeper again we rifle through the styles like 12”s in a dusty crate… ‘Unity’ keeps the garage theme
but with much more of New York or New Jersey style vibe, especially in those epically thudding kicks.
‘Keep A Secret’ is just beautiful deepness with shades of Europe and the West Coast. Somewhere
between Ian Pooley and Hipp-E & Halo in a state of perpetual sunset.
Last but not least, we hit ‘Born In The 80s’. Don’t be fooled by the title, this ain’t no nostalgic
throwback; it’s another timeless slab of deep house heaven where the era is referenced beautifully in
the gentle, dreamy but insistent melody that folds and pleats so majestically over the top, it’s one of
those tunes that really does make you forget where you are and what era you’re in. The type of tunes
both Black Loops and Pets excel in… More

3
Tripmastaz & Guti - R U Happy (Instrumental Version)
Tracklist:
A1. R U Happy
B1. R U Happy (D'Julz Remix)
B2. R U Happy (Instrumental Version)
Release Info:
‘R U Happy’… A simple question. But is there a simple answer? Allow Guti and Tripmastaz to look you
dead in the eye and find out once and for all.
Their first ever collaboration – conjured in a rare real life, real time, real vibe collabo scenario in
Tripmastaz Moscow studio – this fact alone should be a reason for happiness. The music seals the
deal furthermore; a bubbling analogue bass, relentless jacking beats, filters set to their juiciest
coordinates and that insistent loopy vocal sample, there are some serious strong tones of Chicago in
the blend. The sharpness of early Trax, the fatness of early Classic and that rolling vibe that captures
the essence of house like no other city.
If your happiness status relies on more of a French lift then allow D’Julz to take your hand with his
remix. Still just as jacking, but with a little more beef in the bass, more dynamic strip-backs and several
new layers of funk-riddled filters, if you’re not happy by the time this kicks in, you need to consider
some of your lifestyle choices.
With the Pets guys and Guti both fresh from big album excursions and Tripmastaz enjoying a rich vein
of form on the likes of Tatouffe, Bass Culture and No 19 already this year, all parties are kicking with
vitality on this one. Are you happy? We certainly are… More

Tracklist:

B1. Rattlesnake (Magda’s Blotter Traxion Remix)
B2. Rattlesnake (Vyvyan Remix)
Release Info:
Previously spotted remixing the bossmen Catz ‘n Dogz’ 2016 single ‘Nobody Cares’ on the label, Psychemagik’s ‘Rattlesnake’ is the duo’s debut Pets single and it lives up to its deadly name. Sliding into the dance with all the stealth and funk venom its name suggests; the bite comes midway as the fatal secondary bassline kicks in with a Cobra Kai finishing move that will leave your dancefloor out for the count.
It’s loaded with two equally lethal remixes as the label welcome two more debuts from pit vipers old and new; Magda bites hard with a poisonous futuristic funk roll-out while Vyvyan continue their anonymous attack with a fantastic cosmic twist and a build up that rattles like a whole army of Crotalus.
Terminal treatments slithering in all directions. Whichever viperous version you choose to wrestle with, the results remain the same; once bitten your dancefloor will indeed lose all control of their bodies… If slept on, seek medical help. More

Info:
At the forefront of the dance music landscape, DJ/Production duo and label heads, Catz ‘n Dogz are well and truly in the driver’s seat of their musical journey. Starting out as close friends, the pair have risen to critical acclaim, leaving a lasting impression on the electronic music community with their honest productions and label releases; spreading the love far and wide. With friendship as one of the main precursors to their success, they present a warming and emotional album channeling the intricacies of ‘Friendship’ and relationships. Escaping to a wooden cabin in the Spanish countryside village, Cercedilla , which also shares the name of the opening album track, Greg and Voitek came together to create an album that re-wrote the Catz ‘n Dogz history book. Known for their diverse style and ability to craft varying pace and rhythm, the duo sought out consistency
with their ‘Friendship’ LP to make an album in the truest sense; a long player to be listened to as one body of work.
The 4x4 beat underpinning all music across the project, ‘Friendship’ encourages listeners to be at one with themselves and enjoy their life; to go with the flow of highs and lows that come with it. As a testament to the bond that has allowed Catz ‘n Dogz to build and establish themselves, they invite a band of close friends and like-minded peers to collaborate on the album. Vocalist and guitarist James Yuill on the Spanish inspired ‘There ’, fellow polish native Rosalie. on ‘Mind’ and deep vocals of ZENSOFLY and Maxville on
the funky ‘ Wave’ . Travelling into new territories of cross-genre and lingual collaboration, leading Polish rapper, Taco Hemingway lays down lyrics in English on Yi Fang. Along with longtime friend Kiddy Smile and fellow creative mind Rouge Mary , teaming up on 90’s house inspired love song ‘One Plus You’ . Appearances also come from WhoMadeWho on the cool and breezy ‘Never Go Down’ , before later delving deeper into the ethereal voice of Jono McCleery in ‘Would You Believe’ and the eerie folk-esque vocals Egle Sirvydyte on
second-last track ‘Water’ .
Sharing the same name as their countryside escape, introductory interlude ‘Cercedilla’ , eases the listener in with warm notes and raw samples of running water taken from the cottage that became their home. ‘New Love’ celebrates new possibilities and challenges that come throughout life; narrated with rumbling break-beat and euphoric synth lines. Big kicks and funky melodies in ‘This Feels Real’ , build anticipation for what is set to follow in the acidic elements of ‘Questions’ ; denoting the rollercoaster of emotion one can experience throughout the relationships we make.
Hugging the listener with emotional piano chords, ‘Moments Turn To Hours’ encourages the idea of being at peace with oneself, acknowledging the long and hard times and allowing them to pass on by. Looking back to the Berlin days of Catz ‘n Dogz, ‘Last Song For Berlin’ summarises the decade they spent there. Celebrating the people and friendships they made and channeling the soulful side to a city so lauded for its darkness in the Techno scene. Picking up with ‘Hedonic Treadmill’ drum and bass elements, layered with emotive keys and uplifting soulful samples, see out the album with a sense of euphoria and hope for the future.
Left and right, yin and yang, Catz ‘n Dogz. Greg and Voitek are proof that opposites do attract. Now living in different cities and leading alternative lives, their friendship blooms stronger than ever, culminating in their truest and most heartfelt body of work to date – ‘Friendship’. More

Escaping to a wooden cabin in the Spanish countryside village, Cercedilla, which also shares the name of the opening album track, Greg and Voitek came together to create an album that re-wrote the Catz ‘n Dogz history book. Known for their diverse style and ability to craft varying pace and rhythm, the duo sought out consistency with their ‘Friendship’ LP to make an album in the truest sense; a long player to be listened to as one body of work.
Vocalist and guitarist James Yuill on the Spanish inspired ‘There’, fellow polish native Rosalie. on ‘Mind’ and deep vocals of ZENSOFLY and Maxville on the funky ‘Wave’. Travelling into new territories of cross-genre and lingual collaboration, leading Polish rapper, Taco Hemingway lays down lyrics in English on Yi Fang. Along with longtime friend Kiddy Smile and fellow creative mind Rouge Mary, teaming up on 90’s house inspired love song ‘One Plus You’. Appearances also come from WhoMadeWho on the cool and breezy ‘Never Go Down’, before later delving deeper into the ethereal voice of Jono McCleery in ‘Would You Believe’ and the eerie folk-esque vocals Egle Sirvydyte on second-last track ‘Water’.
Sharing the same name as their countryside escape, introductory interlude ‘Cercedilla’, eases the listener in with warm notes and raw samples of running water taken from the cottage that became their home. ‘New Love’ celebrates new possibilities and challenges that come throughout life; narrated with rumbling break-beat and euphoric synth lines. Big kicks and funky melodies in ‘This Feels Real’, build anticipation for what is set to follow in the acidic elements of ‘Questions’; denoting the rollercoaster of emotion one can experience throughout the relationships we make. Hugging the listener with emotional piano chords, ‘Moments Turn To Hours’ encourages the idea of being at
peace with oneself, acknowledging the long and hard times and allowing them to pass on by. Looking back to the Berlin days of Catz ‘n Dogz, ‘Last Song For Berlin’ summarises the decade they spent there. Celebrating the people and friendships they made and channeling the soulful side to a city so lauded for its darkness in the
Techno scene.
Tracklist:
A1. Bawrut - Pioneers A2. Bawrut - Desert Island B1. Bawrut - Piano&Piano B2. Bawrut - Your job is my job
Release Info:
JOMO… The JOY of missing out.
The premise is simple: F**k what everyone else is doing, just enjoy your own moment and make sure you’re present and not wasting time watching other people pretend their lives are amazing. Your life is the only life that counts. And right now Bawrut has come crashing into it. The man behind no less than 15 exceptional remixes throughout 2018, he’s back in full original EP mode and he’s making his debut on Pets.
Let’s not waste any time….
‘Pioneers’ kicks things off. Bawrut’s personal homage to the foundation setters; laced with a syrupy spoken word, this is all about the physical and emotional reactions from a raw house groove. It’s followed by ‘Desert Island’, a dynamic acid attack that’s riddled with rich levels of 303 funk and a healthy dose of Trevor Jackson.
Elsewhere ‘Piano&Piano’ brings us back to dry land with crunchy loops that somehow manage to ooze funk, soul and staccato synth stabbed drama in equal measure… A fusion that’s accelerated insanely when the breaks kick in. Then finally we have ‘Your Job Is My Job’. Another heady maze of trippy textures and psychedelic nods, this one kicks into such a belting bassline groove midway that it will drive your crowds to such high levels of JOMO they may never want to log into Instagram again.
Powerful sounds from a dangerously talented new gen talent. This is next level stuff from Bawrut and Pets. More

Refix-up look sharp: Pets boot down the doors of 2018 with this generous five track version excursion. Five of the label boss’s most distinctive and decorated tracks from recent years get the treatment from five fittingly big names; this is how it’s going to go down…
The one and only Roman Flügel takes the lead with a wonked-out trip down ‘Basic Colour Theory’ lane. With a sly switch on the kicks and full emphasis on the alien encounter feels, his trippy take on ‘Don’t’ sets the perfect creative benchmark for what’s to follow.
Dig deeper for a bumping, stripped back warm and jacking twist of ‘It’s Happening’ by the currently unavoidable Rutilance founder DJ Steaw while Counter Records’ Pional breaks down their recent jolt of euphoria ‘Rave History’ and rebuilds it into a slinkier, house affair, repurposing every spine-tingle and skin-ripple Greg and Voitek coded into the original.
Deeper again we’re treated to an exceptional twist of their Green Velvet collaboration ‘Keep On’ as LAWLER injects a springy, molten momentum to the elements with a salubriously loopy machine funk feel. Finally, for good measure, Jonathan Kasper wraps up their 2016 spiritual trip ‘Elixir’ with a new sense of conga-riddled, bass-licked momentum. Still reaching the highs when you least expect it to, the pay-off keeps giving and giving. A little like this whole EP. These are what remixes were invented for… More
