The long-awaited follow-up to their evergreen ‘For The Lovers’ EP in 2017, once again they not only
tick every box but tickle every inch of your music-addicted soul. Easing us in gently with a little cosmic
UKG, ‘Gwei Lo’ is a two-step teaser with all the magic we’ve come to know and love Black Loops for.
Deeper again we rifle through the styles like 12”s in a dusty crate… ‘Unity’ keeps the garage theme
but with much more of New York or New Jersey style vibe, especially in those epically thudding kicks.
‘Keep A Secret’ is just beautiful deepness with shades of Europe and the West Coast. Somewhere

Time to welcome Black Loops back once again for his third release on Freerange. Riccardo continues to impress with a consistent and evolving output on labels such as Shall Not Fade, Atteral, Gallery and Madhouse, his warm, bouncing beats and basslines working their magic in a broad cross-section of DJ’s sets the last decade or so. Here on These Changes he teams up with young London producer and vocalist Cody Currie, known for his releases on Classic, Razor n Tape and Toy Tonics. These Changes is an uptempo, shuffling house track with a deep, rolling mood which doffs the cap to classic NYC sounds but with a distinct contemporary spin. The People treads a similar path with a repeating vocal hook and snipped and chopped jazz fusion sample adding the ear candy whilst punchy beats and echoing synths keep the floor bouncing. Think Charles Webster meets Joshua Iz on Guidance in the late 90’s and you’ll get the idea. Closing out this sublime release we have Driver which puts all the focus on a simple, compelling bassline pushing the groove along and creating a deep, emotive late night mood to move to.

After a wafting deep house collab with fellow Italian Berlin resident Ruff Stuff, Black Loops (Ricardo Paffetti) brings Shall Not Fade a third EP of rolling, danceable house of the highest calibre. Paffetti has built a reputation as a creative, high-class producer and does not disappoint on "Circulation EP" - the Shall Not Fade regular makes tribute to classic Italian house while adding a futuristic, unique spin.
The 5-tracker opens with "Mike The Dog". It's a crazy electro-garage hybrid that foregrounds frenetic drum loops, while soft lofi chords give way to a disco-like bassline, starting the record off lightheartedly. Title track "Circulation" hits with a syncopated kick and dubbed out vocals that swirl in your head, contrasting a smooth, darker sound design made for sunset dancing.
Paffetti perfects a meticulous sound palette across the B-side. From "Banana 20", a pacey track lead by its squelching bassline, to "Dream2gether" - gliding lead synth, trading spotlights with the echoed vocal - these are love songs for the dancefloor. Berlin based talent Black Loops arrives on Madhouse Records to deliver his four-track ‘JAH Love’ EP this April, featuring two cuts alongside Nikoss. It's hard to believe DC Salas has yet to appear on Pets. A kindred spirit of Catz 'n Dogz, their paths have crossed many times and their sounds have crossed even more. Sharing a similar vision for deep, explorative, exciting and innovative house and techno, a release like this was only a matter of time. Following big releases on Slowciety and Correspondant, Salas eases us into 2021 with four more wide-ranging cuts. 'Le Réveil' rings the alarm and wakes us up. An electrified maze of melodic layers and arpeggios, there's a great sense of mid 90s German house sounds that would eventually spill into the trance diaspora. Majestic, playful and crystal clean. 'Her Smile' takes us even deeper down the rabbit hole as acidic entrails weave in and out of the beats while more cosmic leads layer over the top. Reaching a great melodic crescendo mid-way, it's yet another great storytelling tune. Following his recent barnstormers on Avotre and Rekids, both ‘Square’ and ‘Distant Horizon’ deliver in that
unhurried, cosmic journey-like way Kaden has made his signature over the years: gentle layering, subtle moment,
palpable atmospheres but the drive and underbelly of a bulldozer.
‘Square’ kicks off the show with an eight-minute adventure into deep, warm undulating acid. Heavy subs, fluid
drums and a persistent spoken vocal texture, this one wraps you up like a cloak. ‘Distant Horizon’, meanwhile,
whips that cloak off so quickly it will send you spinning deeper and deeper into the celestial rabbit hole. A
10-minute Mathias epic, it warms up with a progressive rolling feel for a good few minutes before we’re suddenly
derailed into a trippy, hazy brew of weird bass bubbles and some rather outlandish spoken word. Poetry in high
