"Combat Dubs - Dub Murderation" - a statement that is well suitable for the next release on Hamburg's most underground vinyl imprint Intrauterin Recordings which already has been on the scene since 1999.

Led by a vocal sample of the labels mastermind baze.djunkiii this limited to 120 copies 7" whitelabel single does not only provide a unique and creative take on bass music - especially Grime, Dubstep and Breaks as well as some echoes of early Jungle / Breakbeats - but also proves how long term relationships in the music industry finally fall into place to create musical results as the COMBAT DUBS project is formed in between Intrauterin Recordings-founder baze.djunkiii and the multi-active producer Sascha Müller who's also been responsible for the labels' cat.no. 005 way back in 2005.

After nearly two decades of friendship baze.djunkiii and Sascha Müller finally joined the studio together for the first time in early 2018 for a session with only the name COMBAT DUBS in mind and a rough plan to dig deep into the realms of bass music for their very first collaborational effort. Fueled by this idea they churned out two tunes within less than eight hours from scratch, two variations on one main theme with one gravitating more towards the raw, unprocessed aesthetics of the early Grime scene whereas the second cut goes a little deeper, providing a smooth crossover between Dubstep and Breaks whilst an all embracing bass line and trancey strings are perfect tools to provide an ultimate lift off for late night crowds.

At long last, Q Lazzarus says hello to Dark Entries. Q Lazzarus is the moniker of Diane Luckey, born in New Jersey in 1960. While living in the East Village in New York City in the 1980s, Diane met songwriter Bill Garvey at a party and they recorded “Goodbye Horses” in his home studio. As the story goes, Luckey met Hollywood director Jonathan Demme when she picked him up in her taxi during a snowstorm in 1986. Demme was wowed by her demo tape, which was playing in the cab, and they ended up hanging out at a restaurant for hours talking about life and music. “He liked it so much, I gave him the tape I was listening to, he said he would call me for one of his movies, but I didn’t really take it seriously.” said Luckey. Demme would have the song “Goodbye Horses” first appear in his offbeat comedy Married to the Mob, and then again more memorably in Silence of the Lambs when Buffalo Bill changes into women’s clothing while drowning out his intended victim’s pleas with loud music. Despite the exposure, both Luckey and Garvey languished in relative obscurity. “Goodbye Horses” is the definition of a cult classic, an ethereal tearjerker driven by Garvey’s lush synth work and Luckey’s unmistakably powerful voice. Garvey says, “the song is about transcendence over those who see the world as only earthly and finite.”

Over 15 years of effort have gone into the making of this release. All five songs on this record were previously unreleased and are sourced from original master tapes. The extended version of “Goodbye Horses” was newly mixed from the original stems by Alberto Hernandez at Fantasy Studios. Instrumental and acapella versions of the song are included, which are also available for the first time. Side B opens with “Hellfire,” a brooding number about the New York BDSM nightclub of the same name, showcasing the range and force of Luckey’s voice. “Summertime” follows, with a sauntering synth-reggae spin on the 1937 George Gershwin number. Both B-side tracks are also new mixdowns and edits from the original stems. This record is released alongside Eva Aridjis Fuentes’s documentary on Q Lazzarus, Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus, a work chronicling the life of the enigmatic Luckey. It is an opportune moment to reflect on the underrecognized artists we have lost and the undeniable brilliance of both Diane Luckey and William Garvey.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Laurel Halo has spent over a decade stepping into different towns and cities for a moment or more, to the point where everywhere almost became nowhere. Atlas, the debut release on her new imprint Awe, is an attempt to put that feeling to music. Using both electronic and acoustic instrumentation, Halo has created a potent set of sensual ambient jazz collages, comprised of orchestral clouds, shades of modal harmony, hidden sonic details, and detuned, hallucinatory textures. The music functions as a series of maps, for places real and imaginary, and for expressing the unsaid.

Ben Sterling joins Damian Lazarus’ renowned Crosstown Rebels imprint, partnering with Caitlyn Scarlett for ‘Don’t Truss’. Building on the release of arguably one of the tracks of 2022 with his remix of Tiga’s iconic ‘Mind Dimension 2’, UK hotshot and Planet X boss Ben Sterling has made 2023 another year of raising the levels, with his debut on Solomon’s Diynamic becoming an instant summer anthem in the midst of his busiest summer to date. Adding yet another huge label debut to the mix, he continues to showcase his range across house music as Damian Lazarus invites him to Crosstown Rebels for the first time, partnering with singer/songwriter Caitlyn Scarlett for ‘Don’t Truss’ on the revered imprint. A rolling and crisp production with Scarlett’s alluring and hooky vocals at its core, it’s easy to see why ‘Don’t Truss’ has become a stand-out track from Sterling’s own sets across the globe over the past 12 months. Fusing tightly programmed percussion, warped murmurs, and a slinking, snaking groove, it’s a track crafted for the dancefloor, moving crowds unison and leaving a lasting impact. On the flip, ‘Bring Me To The Surface’ is a groove-led and bubbling cut that keeps the energy levels with skittering drums, acid-dipped basslines, resonant synths and yet more vibrant vocals.

As cassette tapes are making a comeback it is time for us to revive Intrauterin Tapes after a 15 years hiatus with a new release by Intrauterin Recordings mastermind baze.djunkiii who is bringing on his latest mixtape outing "The Gangster Files" for all lovers of original and classic UK Garage / Sublow as well as real Jungle / Drum'n'Bass headz featuring a massive vinyl selection of rare whitelabel cuts and essential classics.

The history:
Originally launched in 2001 and operating until 2004 the Intrauterin Recordings sister label Intrauterin Tapes released eight volumes in these first years, making a previously unprecedented move in German mixtape culture in focusing on studio recorded, MC-free vinyl only DJ-mixes for true bass music lovers, covering a musical spectrum from Drum'n'Bass, DarkJungle and UK Garage, put together by both hot, emerging talent from the local Hamburg underground as well as a special final edition featuring US-based (Dark)Jungle legend and scholar Larissa Mann a.k.a. DJ Ripley for a preliminary closing in 2004.

Peggy Gou releases a remix package of her acclaimed 2021 'I Go' single, it’s a stellar release featuring some of the most respected names in electronic music - Soulwax, DJ Koze and Maurice Fulton. Named by Pitchfork as one of 2021’s best electronic releases among a host of other accolades (“Her vocals are gentle, but her promise of persistence (“I go I go, I go I go”) feels powerful. Long time collaborators Meat Beat Manifesto (Jack Dangers) & DHS (Benjamin Stokes) get together on fresh new 12” EP ‘Man From Mantis’. Both artists have rich musical histories, Dangers having released an extensive collection of music as MBM since the late 80s including pre-hardcore/jungle breakbeat touchstones (Helter Skelter/Radio Babylon) & late 90s masterpiece ‘Prime Audio Soup’, released on Trent Reznor’s Nothing Records and recognisable from its use in The Matrix. Stokes on the other hand has a smaller back catalogue but no less influential, having been responsible for all-time-classic foundational techno blueprint ‘House of God’.

Dangers & Stokes have always played around beyond the edges of the familiar and this EP is no different: 4 tracks of breakbeat techno future-sound that live in a world of their own. ‘Pandemic’ opens the EP with squeaky-clean mechanical acid, intentional and direct, tight and well-controlled, underpinned by a revolving, bubbling acid line. ‘Aggressive Mantis Squad’ comes bearing weighted breaks and hinterland bleeps, spanning the past and the future. B-Side opener ‘Automatic Mouth’ is a twisting chugger, occasionally breaking down to reveal a whirring & stuttering machine-spirit before the EP closes with the drum-fest dream sequence of ‘International Sound System’.

These are lab-grown rhythm bombs, finely tuned off-kilter grooves, razor sharp crucial beats ready for the future, out on Love Love Records, June 9th 2023.
