Berlin based talent Black Loops arrives on Madhouse Records to deliver his four-track ‘JAH Love’ EP this April, featuring two cuts alongside Nikoss. Title track ‘JAH Love’ opens the package through a smooth blend of skipping percussion, infectious vocal samples and funk heavy instrumentation, before ‘Your Mind’ introduces the first of two productions alongside Nikoss as rich piano melodies and acid-tinged bass patterns merge effortlessly throughout the track’s six-and- a-half-minute duration. On the flip, ‘NYC Dirty Talks’ takes a trip across the Atlantic as resonant pads and slick drum licks combine to reveal a production that would find itself perfectly at home within any Kerri Chandler set, before rounding out proceedings with the bubbling 303 driven ‘Silly Acid’ once again in partnership with Nikoss, guided by bright keys, soft chords and vibrant low-end tones.

We are delighted to offer a very limited hand-stamped repress of Black Loops’ debut EP, 7 Hills on FreerangeThe Italian producer who splits his time between Berlin and his native country has had a solid few years rising through the house music ranks through releases on respected labels such as Shall Not Fade, Pets, Toytonics, Aterral, Gruuv & Neovinyl. His broad-ranging influences taking in funk, soul, disco and 90’s NY house inform a depth, warmth and musicality to his productions which has seen him in demand DJing around the world and makes him an obvious fit for us here on Freerange. This EP, produced almost exclusively during an extended tour in Australia opens with title track 7Hills, the area where he stayed and worked on this release. The trademark Black Loops swinging groove, smooth Rhodes stabs/ keys licks courtesy of Nikos Haropoulos and a deep, rolling bassline all come together to form the perfect warm up track - uplifting, understate and with a subtle sense of anticipation.Next up we have Parisian producer Mad Rey getting stuck into 7Hills for a raw, bumping interpretation which jacks things up a notch taking it into heavier peak-time territory. Mad Rey has been responsible for some brilliant releases on French label D.Ko, Rekids and most recently Mamie’s Records and alongside label mates Flabaire and Paul Cut he has helped reestablish Paris as a hotbed of fresh, musical talent.Flipping over we have two more Black Loops originals. King Paul takes an old soul vocal sample and works it to great effect over crisp 909 beats and sun-soaked keys whilst a vinyl-only bonus track Linda38 treads a similar path but with a punchier groove and warm pads rounding off this EP in fine style.

Black Loops - Driver
Time to welcome Black Loops back once again for his third release on Freerange. Riccardo continues to impress with a consistent and evolving output on labels such as Shall Not Fade, Atteral, Gallery and Madhouse, his warm, bouncing beats and basslines working their magic in a broad cross-section of DJ’s sets the last decade or so. Here on These Changes he teams up with young London producer and vocalist Cody Currie, known for his releases on Classic, Razor n Tape and Toy Tonics. These Changes is an uptempo, shuffling house track with a deep, rolling mood which doffs the cap to classic NYC sounds but with a distinct contemporary spin. The People treads a similar path with a repeating vocal hook and snipped and chopped jazz fusion sample adding the ear candy whilst punchy beats and echoing synths keep the floor bouncing. Think Charles Webster meets Joshua Iz on Guidance in the late 90’s and you’ll get the idea. Closing out this sublime release we have Driver which puts all the focus on a simple, compelling bassline pushing the groove along and creating a deep, emotive late night mood to move to.

- 2021 repress -
After a wafting deep house collab with fellow Italian Berlin resident Ruff Stuff, Black Loops (Ricardo Paffetti) brings Shall Not Fade a third EP of rolling, danceable house of the highest calibre. Paffetti has built a reputation as a creative, high-class producer and does not disappoint on "Circulation EP" - the Shall Not Fade regular makes tribute to classic Italian house while adding a futuristic, unique spin.
The 5-tracker opens with "Mike The Dog". It's a crazy electro-garage hybrid that foregrounds frenetic drum loops, while soft lofi chords give way to a disco-like bassline, starting the record off lightheartedly. Title track "Circulation" hits with a syncopated kick and dubbed out vocals that swirl in your head, contrasting a smooth, darker sound design made for sunset dancing.
Paffetti perfects a meticulous sound palette across the B-side. From "Banana 20", a pacey track lead by its squelching bassline, to "Dream2gether" - gliding lead synth, trading spotlights with the echoed vocal - these are love songs for the dancefloor. The EP closes out to "Danse sur L'Hardcore", a pumping beast of a house track studded with sparkling chord stabs and g-funk synth trills. More

And the Black Loops phenomenon continues… Fresh from a whole slew of killer releases this year on
the likes of Happiness Therapy, Neovinyl, Madhouse and Smile & Stay High, the Berlin-based Italian
return to Pets with this almighty four-piece that runs their entire groove gamut.
The long-awaited follow-up to their evergreen ‘For The Lovers’ EP in 2017, once again they not only
tick every box but tickle every inch of your music-addicted soul. Easing us in gently with a little cosmic
UKG, ‘Gwei Lo’ is a two-step teaser with all the magic we’ve come to know and love Black Loops for.
Deeper again we rifle through the styles like 12”s in a dusty crate… ‘Unity’ keeps the garage theme
but with much more of New York or New Jersey style vibe, especially in those epically thudding kicks.
‘Keep A Secret’ is just beautiful deepness with shades of Europe and the West Coast. Somewhere
between Ian Pooley and Hipp-E & Halo in a state of perpetual sunset.
Last but not least, we hit ‘Born In The 80s’. Don’t be fooled by the title, this ain’t no nostalgic
throwback; it’s another timeless slab of deep house heaven where the era is referenced beautifully in
the gentle, dreamy but insistent melody that folds and pleats so majestically over the top, it’s one of

A1) Le Mirage A2) Red Light B1) Sex Pt. 2 B2) Sex (Vinyl Bonus Track)
Info:
Here comes the new Black Loops EP! And by now you know what to expect: These irresistible rolling groove patterns with that unique warm Black Loops-feeling. That special vibe that made Black Loops one of the leading artists on Toy Tonics. By now it's exactly four years that they released their debut EP "Right Now" on the Gomma sublabel. They did four EPs on Toy Tonics since then - followed by selected releases on Neo Vinyl, Pets and Gruuv records.
Since the beginning Black Loops have been consistently developing their own style. The fact that Riccardo Paffetti - the Black Loops main man - is a drummer explains why their way to program the beats has this special flow. A flow that you can't find on many other house production. Also the way they choose and cut the samples brings in a special soulish, nasty vibe. Just listen to the way the cut the vocal samples on Le Mirage! How nasty can u be?
The new EP features 3 unreleased tracks and their last year's hit song SEX. Sex was released on a Toy Tonics Jockey Jams VA EP and became one of the best selling tracks on Toy Tonics. It reached no.1 on all relevant DJ Portals, has been played by big DJ's from all kind of scenes. The track even made it into the Top 30 of best selling track of Beatport in 2016.The new EP includes te original track and also a even more dancefloor effective alternative version.
Black Loops music gets made in the middle of Berlin Kreuzberg. In the smokey ZHUT studio. Where lots of Toy Tonics records get made and mixed. When not hanging in the studio the guys DJ around the globe.
Black Loops are on fire. Let's keep it burning.

A1 4 the lovers
A2 Where my girls at B1 blomst
B2 Soulsista (vinyl only)
Info:
This one goes out to all you lovers out there…
With their love of good house and techno brimming over with each release, every day is Valentine’s
Day at Pets HQ. So when Black Loops sent them ‘4 The Lovers’ the label cats (and dogs) knew it
would be a perfect fit for a debut. With its walking bassline, dreamy flurries and sultry spoken
word, ‘4 The Lovers’ melts the stoniest of hearts and sets the scene for the sweet soiree that
follows…
‘Where My Girls At’ continues the racy theme as the Italians-in-Berlin who’ve been building a
smouldering reputation for the last four years on labels such as Toy Tonics, Neovinyl and Gruuv lay
down a persistent kickdrum smooth talk, thumping and bumping as the swooning filtered pads add
layers of allure. ‘Blomst’, meanwhile flutters its come-to-bed eyes with hip-rattling percussive
scratches, a plucked bouncy bassline and blushing chords that climax in style.
Finally we find true romance with ‘Soulsista’. The sonic soulmate you never knew you needed, its
deep dubby bassline slinks and purrs over jacking Chicago-style beats and cosmic weaves, bubbles
and vapour trails wisp and whirr somewhere above you on cloud nine.
Four slices of pristine, pure positivity. We guarantee your own love of good house and techno will be
brimming over by the time you’ve finished listening. Beautiful. More

Kerri Chandler - The Way It Was (Marquis Hawkes Classic Club Vocal)
Founded in 1992, Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse Records has been flying the flag within electronic music as a one of the industry’s most well respected and quintessential imprints for over 25 years, delivering quality productions from leading names across the complete house sphere. Having welcomed Detroit Swindle, Peggy Gou, Josh Butler and Jimpster to remix Chandler in their first ‘Remixed’ instalment, released in early 2018, here we see the imprint revisit the label founder’s iconic discography once again as four new names rework a fresh selection of both solo and collaborative cuts, with Henrik Schwarz, D’Julz, KETTAMA and Marquis Hawkes combining to deliver Vol. 2 this October.Up first, Henrik Schwarz’s take on Chandler and Jerome Sydenham’s 1999 cut ‘Powder’ builds upon the original production’s slick drum work with rich, jazz-tinged chords to reveal an elegant and stylish slice of house music, whilst D’Julz’s groove-heavy remix of ‘Peace Of Mind’ fuses dubby pads and skipping organic drums packed full of swing as the Parisian turns in yet another must-have effort. Next, KETTAMA’s bustling ‘Garage Remix’ of Kerri and Lafayette’s ‘Better Late Than Ever’ takes cues from its title as the Irish talent hones in on a snaking, driving bassline accented by classic soulful vocal hooks, before rounding out proceedings in style through Marquis Hawkes ‘Classic Club Vocal’ remix of Kerri Chandler and Jiletta Riley’s ‘The Way It Was’, unveiling a sun-soaked and infectious final cut that pays homage to Chandler’s trademark New Jersey palette in ever-impressing fashion.

Berlin-based producer and DJ Kevin Over has been on the rise over the past few years with a steady stream of output on the likes of Gerd’s 4Lux, Dj Steaw’s House Puff and of course Madhouse where he returns to here following last years ‘Where To Begin’ EP.
The original mix of ‘Penthouse Boogie’ opens with jangling metallic percussion, thunderous sub tones and dusty drums driving the groove whilst an amalgamation of choppy chords and stabs ebb and flow amongst hypnotic pads, hooky vocals and jazzy marimba tones.
Seven Davis Jr’s remix of 'Penthouse Boogie' follows, taking a more raw and stripped-back approach with a gritty drum groove, skippy hats at the forefront whilst easing in the original’s vocal chant, resonant pad swells, wandering marimba tones and a fresh, bumpy bass line.
Title-track 'Lavender' then rounds out the package on a Garage tip with swinging broken drums, hooky vocal phrases, murky bass tones and organ stabs.

The past few years have seen Berlin’s Frag Maddin release material on Waze & Odyssey’s W&O Street Tracks, Rough Recordings and Egg London’s What Came First as well as offering up a remix on Roog & Dennis Quin’s EP for Madhouse where her returns to here for a full EP featuring remixes from fellow Berlin based acts Black Loops and Kevin Over. Taking the lead on the package is ‘The Zauberflo¨te’ with it’s skippy hi-hats, hooky organ licks, hypnotic Rhodes melodies and vocal cuts all further fuelled by a snaking sub-bass groove to create a slice of authentic house for one of the leading labels of the genre. Black Loops turns in a remix of ‘The Zauberflo¨te’ next, stripping things back to a deeper, more refined feel with spiraling, filtered elements of the original wandering around swinging 909 drums to create a groove-drive counterpart to the original. ‘Focus’ opens the latter half of the package, the second original from Frag Maddin which employs chugging square wave bass tones and dynamically evolving drums alongside tension building strings and choppy stabs before Keving Over closes the package with his gritty take on ‘Focus’, featuring crunchy drums, dusty chords and cleverly arranged string and key samples.

Demuja joins the Madhouse roster this March with ‘Come To Me’, a four track EP featuring French/Australian singer Ladybird and a Folamour remix of the title track. After various releases on the likes of Nervous Records, RTCT Records, and his own label MUJA, Austria’s Bernhard Weiss aka Demuja joins Madhouse with some fresh material following last year’s output on House Puff and Freerange. The release opens with title track ‘Come To Me’, a rough and ready Lo-Fi number featuring a soulful sample, and blissful stabs of horns and strings. Following is the Folamour’s ‘Lost In Eden’ remix, twisting the original into a Balearic, sun-drenched vibe, contrasting the original and bringing a more funk-infused, melodious feel to things. Up next is the second original on the release ‘Take’ which employs classic house tropes with a nod to the 90s via catchy horns and a New Jersey Garage/House beat. ‘Free Me feat Ladybird’ then closes the package, taking you on a silky smooth house journey, with Ladybirds dazzling vocals taking center stage.

Kerri Chandler & Jerome Sydenham - - Powder (Jimpster Remix)
Madhouse Records presents ‘Kerri Chandler (Remixed)’ this February, a package including remixes by Detroit Swindle, Josh Butler, Peggy Gou and Jimpster. Since Kerri Chandler founded Madhouse Records twenty-five years ago, it has been a reputable outlet for high quality house music, ‘Kerri Chandler (Remixed)’ sees the house music icon’s work remixed by some of the scenes most exciting DJ’s and producers. Heist Recordings helming duo Detroit Swindle continue to establish themselves with regular bookings across the world whilst Josh Butler has become a revered name in house music with releases on Defected, Kaoz Theory, and his own imprint Origins Records, Peggy Gou has become a highly in-demand artist with her productions being picked up by Radio Slave’s seminal imprint Rekids and Jimpster’s twenty-year career has seen the release of three LP’s and a plethora of singles on his very own Freerange Records. Detroit Swindle’s take on ‘Get out’ utilises Kerri Chandler’s own infectious vocal samples from the original, the inaugural release on Madhouse back in 1992, ethereal pads and intriguing synthesiser motifs underpinned by an gritty bass hook. Josh Butler contributes gripping vocal licks and hypnotic chord progressions on top of shuffling percussion and a grooving low-end with his remix of ‘I Got That Feelin’. Peggy Gou’s remix of ‘I Need You’ offers up an array of intertwining melodies with acidic overtones which float above sharp cymbal work and crisp snares before Jimpster’s take on ‘Powder’ provides warped samples from the original, evolving synthesiser motifs and crunching house drums to close the release.

As part of Madhouse Records milestone twenty five years in the business the label will be offering up a selection of projects over the next year, ranging from vinyl reissues, events, new releases on Madhouse and it’s MadTech sub-label, Merchandise and more. Here we see the imprint revisit some of it’s biggest hitters since its inception, delivering a selection of recent output from the like of T Williams and James Jacob, Opolopo and Roog and Dennis Quinn while revisiting one of label-founder Kerri Chandler’s most loved records on the label. Up first is Roog & Dennis Quinn feat. Berget Lewis’ ‘Igohart’ which saw support from the likes of Sante & Sidney Charles, Shadow Child and Maya Jane Coles with it’s raw swing, gritty stab sequences and soaring vocals. The ‘Dub Mix’ of Opolopo’s ‘Lowlife’ follows and add a playful bounce to things via wandering organ hooks, spiralling vocals and an infectious musicality with its warm string and bright piano chords. T.Williams and James Jacob then head back to more direct dance floor vibes with the piano-laden ‘Together’ fuelled by weighty 909’s, string samples and smooth chords before ‘Kerri’s Kaoz 6:23 Mix’ of Lafayette’s ‘Better Late Than Never’ gets a 2017 remaster, bringing even more shine to the soul infused New Jersey house classic.

Luigi Giomini and Massimiliano Miele aka Marsupials have come a long way since their debut on Seven Music in late 2014, delivering a string of original content since via the likes of Large Music Scucci Manucci, Dabit, and Black Key Records. Here, the duo push on by joining the roster of Kerri Chandler's Madhouse Records yet another substantial step forward for the rising duo. Title cut 'Gotta Get You' kicks things off and sees Giomini and Miele provide an atmospheric deep house workout with crunchy rhythms, stirring pad lines, wandering stab sequences and weighty doses of sub bass. ‘Quilb' follows and takes things into deeper realms with a loose rhythmic swing, bubbling background synth tones and dubby chord hits, while closing piece 'Hot Donuts' rounds off the package on a gritty stripped back tip laying the focus on weighty drums and soaring chord progressions. Madhouse Records returns with another retrospective reissue this summer, once again digging back through its impressive back catalogue and shining light on some of the highlights over the past twenty five years in action with some fresh remasters from the head honcho Kerri Chandler himself. Grampa’s ‘I Loved You’ opens with its balearic piano lines, bumpy bass stabs and hooky vocals setting the tone perfectly before Bobcat Trades’ ‘Summer Rain’ edges things over to more organic sounds with snaking natural bass licks, shuffled snares and freeform jazz sax across its five minute duration. Krista FA’s ‘Why You Wanna’ takes things soulful next, with emotive vocal stylings, hooky sub hits and a classic rhythmic swing the label has become known for. Dreamer G’s ‘I Got That Feeling’ still sounds as fresh as ever with an amalgamation of hooky vocal lines, off-kilter drums and smooth string melodies. Jiletta Riley’s ‘The Way It Was’ radiantly displays the dusty and raw production style of its time via raw chord samples, cruncy claps and soaring diva vocals before the package is rounded out with the highly revered label classic Matrix ‘Get Out’, Deep House in its truest sense with bright stab sequences, piano chords, robust reverberated drums and heady vocal chops.
