As you may expect from Ellen, the release is packed with raw emotion, rave motifs and unrelenting energy in her own inimitable style. 'Rosen' kicks things off merging melodrama and emotive atmospherics followed by 'N2020', a pounding techno stomper. The EP closes with two versions of 'KCKC'. Firstly, it's the 'Epic Mix', then the original version. KCKC became Ellen's personal anthem of her balcony sets during covid lockdown.

Ellen Allien Keeps It Raw with the Third Release from Her UFO Label Ellen Allien returns with the third release from her label UFO. Focused on a raw aesthetic, UFO serves as a space for artists to explore the dark, rugged side of the music. On this third installment from the label we get three deliciously dark productions... First out of the block is 'La Musica Es Dios' (Music Is God), which comes in two mixes. The first works from the deep tremor of its juddering bassline, subtle beats tease this cut along with a contagious rhythm. As a master of vocal hooks, Ellen skillfully introduces a distorted clip that repeats over and over as the drama unfolds. Wistful pads and a sombre riff keep it melancholy. On the second mix the mood is a little more upbeat with brighter frequencies and skipping beats. Though, once the main body of the track comes in, a menacing swathe of analogue growls and snarls at you with aplomb. A breakdown tinged with 8-bit leads us into a rousing section of the track before another slight break ushers in more menace in the low end. Finally, 'Junge' penetrates our minds with its punchy drums and snares. The pace is quicker and more energi- sed with a pervading sense of dread emanating from the background. This cut is downright nasty, with a snee- ring riff and shadowy atmospherics. Rough, rugged and raw analogue technoid funk from an unknown future.

Terence Fixmer and Introversion remix ‘Love Distortion’: Terence rocks out with a gnarly guitar riff and extra bold percussion, while Introversion injects a murky feel to his rework, adding a trance-inspired element to hypnotise the listener and take them to another dimension. Regal drops an ‘XTC Remix’ of ‘Electronic Joy’ with high-octane percussion and an enchanting retro feel. In "The Kiss" and "Need", BPitch Control boss Ellen Allien has produced two precisely stripped-down driving house tracks that have been crying out for suitable remixes for some time – and here they are: the Miami-based DJ/Producer Jesse Perez has reworked "The Kiss", bestowing the straight-up beat with a healthy dose of Caribbean flair.The Germany-based Snuff Crew takes a noticeably less extrovert approach, but their credits speak for themselves: two albums on Gigolo, plus releases on Killekill and their own label Snuff Trax, founded in 2010. They have appeared as remixers for artists including Alex Vazquez and BPC's own Dance Disorder. Their trademark crunchy, old-school acid sound leaves a clear impression on their version of "The Kiss" and creates an intense, atmospheric after-party hit. The man with the red mask, Redshape, cuts an altogether more mysterious figure. Redshape's musical affinity with the best of Detroit techno is exhibited on his two superb albums on the Frankfurt label Running Back as well as his numerous tracks on Music Man, Delsin and Styrax Leaves. Yet his identity remained the subject of speculation for a long time. These days we can say with at least some certainty that Redshape is officially known as Sebastian Kramer and resides in Berlin. He sets the playful "Need" original on its way very gradually and carefully before bringing frenzied tribal drums into play and transforming the track into a kind of 'evil twin' of the original.

"Take Me Out" slams into your ears with a bone-dry, crunching oldschool-electrofunk beat. Ellen Allien joins forces with Italian synth wave band Ash Code for a formidable collaborative project. Across three tracks they merge their creative energy to produce the fearsome EP - 'Dance and Kill’.
The three track EP represents a perfect marriage of two potent and distinctive sounds, with both acts firing on all cylinders. Across the EP eerie vocal clips, vigorous percussion, stomping bass, distorted vocals, and ominous instrumentation demonstrate the parallels between these sounds. Opening track ‘Dance and Kill’ embodies this melding of techno and cold wave elements. 'Shining On You' features Ellen's vocals and thunderous drum programming, for a sombre yet irresistibly danceable track. Keith Carnal returns to BPitch with a rousing three-track excursion into the visceral side of techno. Stocked with deadly drum arrangements, thumping kicks and imposing basslines, Keith’s armoury is well equipped to cause maximum impact on the dance floor. The title cut takes us straight into the depths of Carnal’s wild mind, with a bombastic cut that utilises a pitched down spoken word vocal. Lastly, ‘WiederGutMachung’, a brooding cut where Carnal employs a stripped back arrangement to great ef- fect. ‘‘I follow the golden stream…" sings Rosa Anschütz in the title track of her new album, in a cold, clear, determined voice. Underneath, golden interference buzzes and splashes at first, while cold light lies over the "thick water.“ Followed by powerful beats setting in as the trumpet fanfares of the chorus herald victory over the elements.

"Golden Stream" is second album of the 24-year-old artist, who lives in Vienna and Berlin - an amazing work. It can be danced to, but one can also listen to it as a conceptual album; it is as full of beats as it is full of thoughts. Rosa Anschütz plays piano, flute and trumpet, she worked a lot with modular synthesizers in the beginning of her career. Her musical awakening experience was the Atonal Festival in Berlin, later she also danced a lot at Berghain, and Berghain DJ Max Kobosil remixed her song "Rigid". Rosa Anschütz reinforces her enormously versatile vocals -ranging from a pleading breath to a cold New Wave speaking voice - with a relentlessly marching four-to-the-floor techno; but underneath it all, lay polyrhythmic deviations again and again. Clattering and trembling, deep basses digging into the ground, while shimmering veils of sound blow from above. Rosa Anschütz follows the traditions of Dark Wave and Postpunk, but carves deep notches of sound sculpture and romantic smoothness. "Goldener Strom" is a great pop album, full of melodies, aphorisms and beats that immediately catch your ear. A warm welcome to Italian-American producer Matasism, who debuts on BPitch with his four-track EP Can You Feel My Soul. Matasism launched his own label Ma¨ta¨sism in 2017, releasing exclusively via the platform until very recently. He lands on BPitch with an EP that channels the essence of freedom and liberty found in the rave. Berlin techno luminary Ellen Allien turns her attention to the romantic darkwave duo Lebanon Hanover with this double pack of remixes. These cuts began life as personal edits for her own DJ sets in 2019, appearing in many shows since.

First she takes on ‘Living On The Edge’. Larissa’s vocals sit comfortably on top of the club-focused instrumental, which stays true to the original spirit of the song while reconfiguring it for the dancefloor. The DJ, producer, label owner, jovial illustrator and graphic designer Alan Oldham, aka DJ T-1000, is regarded as an all-round genius and has long been one of techno's living legends. Living in Berlin these days, and a regular booking at the city's top clubs, he is making his first guest appearance on BPC with his brand new EP Ratchet Traxx. With Ratchet Traxx the Detroit icon Oldham steals the show once again, serving up four tracks of his quintessentially relentless "Bangin' Funky Ass Techno". Each track is literally a musical kick in the ass like nothing you’ve felt before. Minimal yet gigantic at the same time, brimming with energy. Booty Shaking Ghetto Gagging hits the bullseye: a straight-up 909 beat, coupled with a bassline and a vocal sample that burrows into your senses over almost six minutes - true as an arrow. She Loves Big Black Cock springs a surprise – no, not with its philosophical examination of gender roles - but with its quirkily constructed break. This master's genius likes to reveal itself in sublime details. We Need Our Weave sounds more stripped down by comparison. In fact, it unfolds without a real bassline or break. Meanwhile, Black Guys Really Love My Big Fat Ass, with its shuffling off-beat bass and one-tone hook, could almost be described as bombastic... Still a bit tipsy and really happy: that is how ELLEN ALLIEN reports back with "Turn Of Your Mind". The title already gives away that the DJ, producer and Label Boss is all about monotony casted in sounds, the mind has left the body and is only moved by the wind of bass and rhythm. "Hoo" and "Off" are the song titles, either fast and captivating, raw like unpolished steel. The journey goes back to the 1990ies in Berlin, a time where she was playing as a guest and resident in the legendary Clubs like E-Werk, Planet and Tresor letting the music absorb her into Techno and Acid spheres. Both tracks stretch into epic 8 minutes of thrilling techno magic, summoning the listener to one of those "Lost In Music" moments. This powerful EP is made for nights so filled with dancefloor euphoria that they prolong themselves into the next day without anyone noticing. Simultaneously with working on this EP the BPitch Control owner has installed a new regular club night finding a new home in a Berlin warehouse. Next to this she is touring all-around the globe sharing the driving energy of techno and acid with an international audience.
