Ellen Allien emits a powerful "AURAA" on new longplayer !

Ellen Allien - one of Berlin’s most ardent techno ambassadors - proudly unveils her latest full-length expedition into the realms of underground electronica. Brimming with creative energy, Ellen’s new LP “Auraa” follows her 2019 release “Alientronic”, and is her third album in three years. Raw, emotive and capable of transporting you from reality to an electrofied fantasy, “Aurra” explores the notion of unseen energies controlling our planet.

Ellen Allien Keeps It Raw with the Third Release from Her UFO Label Ellen Allien returns with the third release from her label UFO. Focused on a raw aesthetic, UFO serves as a space for artists to explore the dark, rugged side of the music. On this third installment from the label we get three deliciously dark productions... First out of the block is 'La Musica Es Dios' (Music Is God), which comes in two mixes. The first works from the deep tremor of its juddering bassline, subtle beats tease this cut along with a contagious rhythm. As a master of vocal hooks, Ellen skillfully introduces a distorted clip that repeats over and over as the drama unfolds. Wistful pads and a sombre riff keep it melancholy. On the second mix the mood is a little more upbeat with brighter frequencies and skipping beats. Though, once the main body of the track comes in, a menacing swathe of analogue growls and snarls at you with aplomb. A breakdown tinged with 8-bit leads us into a rousing section of the track before another slight break ushers in more menace in the low end. Finally, 'Junge' penetrates our minds with its punchy drums and snares. The pace is quicker and more energi- sed with a pervading sense of dread emanating from the background. This cut is downright nasty, with a snee- ring riff and shadowy atmospherics. Rough, rugged and raw analogue technoid funk from an unknown future. More

The Alientronic Remixes have landed! - Ellen Allien brings in a stellar line up of artists to put their own spin on tracks from her latest album ‘Alientronic’ for the first of several remix packages. Terence Fixmer and Introversion remix ‘Love Distortion’: Terence rocks out with a gnarly guitar riff and extra bold percussion, while Introversion injects a murky feel to his rework, adding a trance-inspired element to hypnotise the listener and take them to another dimension. Regal drops an ‘XTC Remix’ of ‘Electronic Joy’ with high-octane percussion and an enchanting retro feel. Lastly, there’s a special edit of ‘Love Distortion’ which offers a more restrained version of the killer original.

ELLEN ALLIEN put her particularly multifaceted side on display once again in mid-summer 2014: Her last EP "Freak" contained three tracks with three moving emotional states, each spreading uniquely positive vibes. Especially the track "Freak The Night" – with its warm bass, 303 acid dabs, Roland piano sounds and Ellen Allien sending out rave signals with her insistent vocals – turned out to be a hit. Now the Berlin artist has invited AUX 88, RADIO SLAVE and EJECA to remix the playfully creative track, alongside another track from the last EP, "Butterfly".

In "The Kiss" and "Need", BPitch Control boss Ellen Allien has produced two precisely stripped-down driving house tracks that have been crying out for suitable remixes for some time – and here they are: the Miami-based DJ/Producer Jesse Perez has reworked "The Kiss", bestowing the straight-up beat with a healthy dose of Caribbean flair.The Germany-based Snuff Crew takes a noticeably less extrovert approach, but their credits speak for themselves: two albums on Gigolo, plus releases on Killekill and their own label Snuff Trax, founded in 2010. They have appeared as remixers for artists including Alex Vazquez and BPC's own Dance Disorder. Their trademark crunchy, old-school acid sound leaves a clear impression on their version of "The Kiss" and creates an intense, atmospheric after-party hit. The man with the red mask, Redshape, cuts an altogether more mysterious figure. Redshape's musical affinity with the best of Detroit techno is exhibited on his two superb albums on the Frankfurt label Running Back as well as his numerous tracks on Music Man, Delsin and Styrax Leaves. Yet his identity remained the subject of speculation for a long time. These days we can say with at least some certainty that Redshape is officially known as Sebastian Kramer and resides in Berlin. He sets the playful "Need" original on its way very gradually and carefully before bringing frenzied tribal drums into play and transforming the track into a kind of 'evil twin' of the original. The current 12" "Galactic Horse" was co-produced by her label-mates Skinnerbox expect the unexpected, you might say and you would be spot on. "Take Me Out" slams into your ears with a bone-dry, crunching oldschool-electrofunk beat. This is gradually sweetened over the course of the next seven-and-a-half minutes with catchy string hooks and atmospheric sounds. Whether in the club or on the couch, you'll find it impossible to resist the suspense that spans the track. On the flip side "Need" treats us to a pure house beat as classic as it gets. But you soon realize that this carefree party vibe isn't really taking itself seriously brass hooks and playful vocal samples quickly and firmly take root in your auditory canals, leading you to hear "Need" as a tongue-in-cheek parody of house music. His aesthetics are seemingly on the harsher side, but underneath each phrase lies a carefully arranged sonic mapping that weaves together the raw, the delirious, and the euphoric. As a producer and DJ who works across multiple aliases, Davide's commitment to the culture has been firmly planted over many years of exploring the weirder corners of techno, working with a wide range of beloved labels and performing across the globe. Bringing with them two distinct approaches to music production but a shared vision of techno's weirder corners, Linn and Stina go all in on their first joint release together, fusing sonic abstractions into a release that never loses sight of the club. With a classically trained musical background, Linn explores reverberant soundscapes and complex arrangements with a learned ear, but a firm rejection of the rigid forms that often taint formal musicality. Promoting a sense of non-compliance in their sonic palettes, they offer a contemporary and transgressive interpretation of techno that strives to reimagine reality and desire. 'Boompahpah' gets things rolling with dense beats, a high-octane tempo and a choir-driven breakdown. UFO Inc. starts the new decade with fast, dark improv-techno tracks by the New York DJ, producer and singer Heidi Sabertooth. The four tracks on UFO4 are an impressive testimony to her passion for vintage gear and are the result of an interplay of mainly three machines with which she also plays live: Roland SH-101, Korg ESX2 Electribe and Yamaha DX200 - Sabertooth knows her tools inside and out by heart and tried on this EP to sound as "live" and spontaneous as possible. She plays her machines like instruments and want them to have some life and breath in them because she grew up playing all kinds of wind and string instruments and played in bands many years before she became a DJ. Her approach to making tracks is to capture as much live experimentation and weirdness as possible, while still making something that grooves and kicks on the dancefloor.?She is not so concerned about making things perfect, in fact sometimes she intentionally try to disrupt things if it starts sounding too polished or square: ,,I like things to be human. I think you can feel it in the recording when the hands are touching the machine - it is human/machine/spirit connection.?This is why I named the EP as such - With The Void - this is how I like to create: jump into outerspace, into the unknown, with my machines and we all have an experience together - a cosmic electric dance - and that's when I hit the record button."
